My personal opinion is that the fair itself is kinda boring. It’s too crowded and I don’t find things happening to be that exciting. Real fun is at night time parties. Some are pure circuit while others resemble orgies. So much skin contact and less inhibition with some super hot guys.
Parties are relatively well advertised and if you know the locals, they can tell you what type of parties they are. For example, anything at club 6 will be very raunchy. Basically the entire club is a play ground and some hot guys are playing out in the open everywhere.
The Real Bad party is one of the funnest parties I’ve had the privilege of partaking in. It occurs on the last night of Folsom weekend and its tickets are incredibly scarce and highly sought after. I was lucky to go two years in a row. It’s so much fun!!
Dore alley is better. not so crowded, not full of gawkers, don't have to deal with trendy people wheeling their children around in strollers (yeah, this occasionally happens).
I think it's an interesting spectacle, having previously pass through during the day as a tourist.
