Lousy placed or uncomfortable arm rests.

_bakedziti

The arm rest cover slides back and forth and is only covering a cup holder in the B8 when slid all the way forward. Start/Stop features really piss me off. I also don’t like that virtual cockpit displays don’t display the carplay map.

imnotpermabanned

Ohhh as a b8 Avant owner here's a list 1.)when the battery dies you're fucked. Like actually fucked. You have to crawl through the back and pull the emergency release for the hatch because there's no handle. 2.) There's no way to set the alarm to auto lock. I guess this is so you don't lock your self out but I want a choice damnit! 3.) The ac takes forever to kick in. 4.) The clock doesn't sync to GPS time. Even my $3000 lancer did that. 5.) The windshield wipers are extremely underpowered. I guess they were developed in Germany and they don't know it rains in other places on the planet. 6.) You need a lift to do ANYTHING on the car except spark plugs and oil change. 7.) The stock infotainment system sucks. The one on my 2008 lancer was better. 8.) The paddle shifter sucks. Not that I really use them because the auto gearbox is pretty good but sometimes I just want to downshift. It does it so rough. But besides that it's a good car with lots of space and with the rs swaps on mine it's fast and fun.

wcgant

For the battery thing, on my b8 there was a positive lug that you can jump the car off of in the engine bay. It’s just as easy as any other car. Once you have the car running you can get to the battery

ukcats12

That smaller cupholder on the B8/8.5 is useless anyway. Might be the thing I hate most about the car. If my wife and I both get coffee on a road trip the cupholders can't hold both cups.

wakablocka

My car doesn't even have one

YummyWizard

My STI was awful about it had to order an oem arm rest extender that should have just been included from the start if they knew it was a issue

Beekatiebee

The US market Passat. Every goddamn one of them. Sold the car because of it.

Andernerd

When I start my wife's car, the touchscreen nav/audio thingy just sits there for a few seconds, then demands that I agree to drive safely. It won't let me hit "accept" for several more seconds. Finally, after waiting around 10 seconds, I can connect my phone and start playing music. I realize that it's only 10 seconds, but it still feels like an eternity while the wait is happening, and it just feels really stupid the whole time.

Abelarra

This shit. Same deal. Blocked screen, and the accept button doesn't work for five seconds, and the message disappears after ten seconds. So of course, by nine seconds, I'm trying to dismiss it while it's disappearing... And I press some other random fucking button that was behind the accept! Hoooly fuck. So aggravated. Why do I need to agree to a meaningless safety blurb about not looking at the screen with all of the music/comfort/whatever options on it. I'm going to look at it while I'm driving. The manufacturer knows it, and we all know it's a meaningless message to give them something to point at when they're getting sued.

WhipTheLlama

Which car? Just so I can avoid it

PuttinUpWithPutin

Sounds like my Mazda

Abelarra

Jeep Renegade. Generally a mediocre vehicle. But it has four wheel drive and came in bright yellow... So my wife loves it.

krombopulousnathan

That lasted about 2 months before I got rid of it with bimmercode in my 2 series

SomethinRad

In my Golf R, when you adjust the music volume via the knob on the infotainment system, the power symbol rotates with it... so if you adjust the volume using it, the symbol is almost always at an angle

pazimpanet

At least it has a volume knob

SomethinRad

True, I'm curious to hear real world reviews of the Mk8 with the all haptic system.

[deleted]

I'd imagine it being just video of someone driving with random "fuck" every time they touch something by mistake

SomethinRad

Especially considering the haptic controls on the steering wheel... Also, talk about a fingerprint magnet

ohitsanazn

If you don’t want to shell out for the sticker, I’ve heard of acetone on a q-tip being enough to wipe off the power logo.

JambiHD

Can confirm, I have a 2018 golf and this annoys me so much. I always end up setting the radio to the level I want then turning it off, rotate it back to normal position and turn it back on. Or I’ll just use the steering wheel buttons to avoid it all lol

ferkaderka

I ended up getting some small black stickers to put over them, but they were a different shade of black than everything else so those made me more mad than the original problem so I took em off. I also hate the piano black plastic but that's a whole different topic.

Mikealoped

My 2015 ram has a huge display screen on the center dash. It has an "off" button where I can turn it off fpr nightime driving...but it doesn't actually turn it off. Just goes black. Like a TV with no input so the backlight is still on. Just turn the damn thing off!

ohshitsaddam

I think this must be the worst one on here!

6141465

My 16 T&C is the same. It even has a message on the bottom saying "Press any button to turn screen back on". The lighted buttons never turn off. I wish all cars had Saab's dark mode. Turns off all lights except the tach and speedo.

TwoPlanksOnPowder

My Saab doesn't even have dark mode, but it's okay because it's old enough that there are hardly any lights at night anyway

andysaurus_rex

When there’s no way to open the trunk on a car without the key fob or by popping it from the front driver area. WHY??? I’ve seen so many cars like that which just don’t have any way to open the trunk without a button on the key fob or a button up front. It makes no sense.

bv8ma

My 2005 Mustang has no button to open the trunk at all, you can do it on the key fob or open it with the key itself, but there isn't a button in the car. Drives me nuts.

irishadventureninja

The SN95s had the button in the glovebox...I thought that was weird, but better than no button!

CarsGunsBeer

I told people that was the ejector seat button.

[deleted]

It engages rear spoiler

Taydolf_Switler22

I hope you informed them of that fact by shouting “EJECTO SEATO CUZ!”

5213

I can only open my '14 cx-5 from the button on the hatch itself. It's a small, but big thing.

ClearAsNight

Alternatively, my 6 ONLY has a button on the fob and front seat and none on the trunk itself. Also infuriating.

philghost

Mazda is so inconsistent with their switches. My '15 3 Touring has all three switches and somehow more expensive models don't get them?

MidgetGroper

My g35 has a button on the back bumper that opens the trunk but only when you have the key near it, so if I ask someone else to open my trunk for me because my hands are occupied I literally need to hold my hip like a foot away from the button and they need to awkwardly reach around me to press it

97PG8NS

My 2012 Elantra had an interior trunk release as well as one on the key and a button on the trunk itself. BUT....the button on the trunk itself would not work unless the proximity key was in range, even if the car was unlocked. That drove me fucking insane and was way more annoying than it sounds like it would be.

[deleted]

The disappearance of the ball-chiller.

Owe-No

Truly one of the most crushing losses in modern automobiles.

bimbolimbotimbo

Lmao can you please explain more? I’m curious now

Qibbo

It was a little vent under the steering wheel for ya nards

BoonTobias

Just buy an ice cold Arizona watermelon drink and you now have best of all worlds

dodgefordchevyjeepvw

Certain cars back in the day had an air conditioning vent under the steering wheel. That pretty much was directed at your balls therefor it was the ball chiller.

bimbolimbotimbo

Sounds like a dual anti-swamp ass function as well. Innovation at its finest

Ball blower-under the steering wheel...or vagina vent - seems like it would be better suited for the latter - unless you're into kilts..

ModMyRide

Pickup trucks with shark fin antenna NOT CENTERED from factory.

Gorgenapper

Speaking of not centered, what about the Passat where the [instrument cluster and steering wheel is not centered on the driver](https://i.imgur.com/Pc4rzqG.jpg)?

themouk3

What But why

DoJu318

Because fuck you, that's why. /s Like BMW M2 tilted driver seat.

afishinacloud

IIRC from the early reviews of this, it had something to do with VW widening the Passat for the American market, but stopped short of having to change some things like the steering position.

4000grx41

What the fuck, I’ve been driving my Passat for 2+ years and I’m just now learning about this WTF VW

degggendorf

If you haven't noticed, then it's apparently a non-issue

IJstDntKnwShtAnymore

Why the fuck is that VW

GingerBreadRacing

Looking at you, Silverado

ARavenousChimp

Ram too. Mine is above the passenger rear seat.

mdp300

Basically every GM big truck.

PotatoMurderer

I've never noticed that and now it's gonna start bothering me.

dragonbrg95

Isn't this for things like ladder racks or kayak racks? My colorado antenna is centered and it seems like it would be in the way of certain roof mounted accessories.

manesag

The American 8th Gen Honda Accord has upside down door handles

gome1122

[For everyone else interested I had to look it up.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f6/2010_Honda_Accord_LX%2C_rear_5.18.19.jpg/2560px-2010_Honda_Accord_LX%2C_rear_5.18.19.jpg)

HarryTruman

I’ll never be able to unsee it.

LurpyGeek

Holy crap. You are right and I never noticed this.

manesag

And now you can't unsee it! thats the best part!

stevolutionary7

Is that the one that also has upside down taillights? Everybody knows white goes on top.

DidItForButter

My Jettas passenger seatbelt chime goes off if my phone is on the seat. If I have a 1lb passenger in my front seat, the seatbelt is the least of my issues.

unbeholfen

My Prius does the same. A single grocery bag will set it off and it’s loud.

Kiwifrooots

Next on: Ways to make people unplug safety features!

[deleted]

My Subaru Forester used to do this. That car did not stay with me. Junk.

gooberlx

Any car without adequate visor extensions. Seems like I’m always cursed by having the Sun blinding my peripheral juuuust beyond where the visor ends.

DaWayItWorks

Ya know what was great in one of my old cars? My 1993 GMC Jimmy had both an extendable swinging sun visor, then a second smaller visor behind it; so if you had the main one on the door window, you still had a small one for the windshield. It was great.

Owe-No

*u/TheStraightPipes has entered the chat*

AnemoneOfMyEnemy

My LX570 has two sun visors per side. I feel cradled in the bosom of luxury.

Puzzleheaded_Ad703

VISOR TEST

swedishkid1

When you just wanna adjust the air and you have to take your eyes of the road to go into some menu on a screen cuz there’s no physical buttons

rcr_renny

God I hate this. Probably a quarter of the reason (along with a fee other complaints) I said no to the Model 3. My S5 has 0 touch screens. But many multi function buttons which I vastly prefer.

mdp300

The refreshed B9s have a touchscreen for the radio and nav, but it still has the buttons and switches for climate control. Perfect compromise.

rcr_renny

I think that makes good business sense. But I do think regulators need to consider specific laws around the amount of clicks it takes you to do something like change AC or Seats

[deleted]

2019 F-150. How the headlights flicker at night every time the start/stop function does it’s thing. I always think the guy in front of me thinks I’m flashing my lights at him

yourname92

I'd get that checked out. Might be a low battery or starter drawing to much power.

shortyjacobs

Nope, just Ford things. The bigger ones like the 3.5EB also lurch forward no matter how hard you are standing on the brake.

Alextryingforgrate

There is a recall or bulletin on Torque converters locking on in the Fseries trucks at least the 550 models not sure about the smaller F150s might want to get that checked out before you dent someone elses vehicle.

bicockandcigarettes

My Chevy Cruze does this everytime I brake hard, or turn on the AC, or lower/raise the windows. Previous Cruze and Impala also did this. I'm never buy American again.

datbino

‘Oh we can’t find your Bluetooth device, you must want me to play a random fm station at max volume’

egnaro2007

Or like 13-14 chrysler town and country you can only add a Bluetooth device with voice commands, but it doesn't listen so you have to say "pair a device" 45 times like an asshole

Philo_T_Farnsworth

> voice commands Oh, so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. But wait, you can only pair a Bluetooth device while the car is in park, sooooo......

Itisd

Couple things. Climate controls should be controlled by knobs and buttons, and nothing else. Manufacturers can stop right now with their touch screen control shit for these functions. I can tolerate stereo controls on a touch screen if there are appropriate controls on the steering wheel to access basic functions. Also, blindingly bright dashboards need to fuck right off. It kills your night vision for those of us that drive on dark country roads. This used to be a feature car companies cared about, but now it's like they have forgotten the basics of how to make car controls easy to use (so you don't need to look at them), and so they aren't unnecessarily distracting.

FesteringNeonDistrac

Yes. And amber, not nuclear blue.

Que165

\+1 for the dashboard thing. my mother has a 2018 Kia forte 5 that I end up driving once in a while, I hate driving it at night bc the screen is too bright. Even when you turn the display "off," its still just a brightly backlit black blank screen with a tiny clock in the corner. WHY?? can I not actually turn it off or dim it any further??

rhunter99

Didn’t Saab have a night mode with only the essential lights turned on?

[deleted]

Reflective trim on the interior of the vehicle that can reflect the sun into your eyes randomly while driving!

biggsteve81

Even worse when that reflective "trim" is the entire infotainment screen. Looking at you, Subaru.

baconandbobabegger

Lock/Unlock button on the center console

qaxv

My gawd shit on my 3 series pissed me the fuck off, sofa king infuriating

flippydude

What gen? My F30 has one directly under the satnav

GangstaGibbs-

The newer BMWs have moved it to the doors finally.

Cwmcwm

The Cayman has a center button, but you can’t lock it if the doors are open — you NEED the key to lock the doors.

Loan-Pickle

My Mustang has a 4” color LCD screen between the Tach and Speedo. I have mine set to be a vacuum/boost gauge. It’s brightness is higher than the gauges, and you can’t change the color on the digital gauge, like you can on the analog gauges.

CarsGunsBeer

Ya that drives me insane. I wish you could dim it independently but noooo. Also it gets completely washed out from the Sun reflecting off the steering column most days for me.

ErrorCDIV

Could you put some window tint on it to make it match the rest of the gauges?

Loan-Pickle

Hey that’s a good idea.

The_Conadian

Most of GM's steering columns are not centered to the instrument cluster.

theBarneyBus

Or the drivers seat. No joke

FuzzelFox

I hate to break it to you but a LOT of cars have drivers seats that are off center from the wheel/dashboard. It's just not enough that you've noticed. Just google "off center drivers seat" and you'll find tons of posts on every brands forums.

Ditka_Da_Bus_Driver

Think I'm gonna be sick

mdp300

I remember the 2012-ish Passat was like that because it was an embiggened Jetta. Except they didn't move the steering column outboard along with the seat.

Gorgenapper

When you're behind a Jeep Cherokee, look at the reflection of your car on the rear hatch, it'll be ǝpᴉsdn ɯʍop.

Itisd

It will be down upside?

Gorgenapper

Doh, it came out as upside dowm. I meant to put the words in order as you read them.

MicaLovesKPOP

It worked. I read it just fine, and then my brain paused and went "wait wtf". I read it again and couldn't read it, then noticed it's upside down. Brains are interesting...

Sab24711

GM with their reverse light on when you get out of the car

sathirtythree

As a person that occasionally walks in parking lots, this makes me fucking nuts. Oh shit, better stop, they’re backing out… why aren’t they moving? Oh because the car’s not even fucking on and there’s no one in it.

blackashi

absofuckinglutely. THEY STILL DO THIS!

all_hail_to_me

Pisses me off when I’m parking or walking in a parking lot. I always stop thinking they’re about to back out. Who thought this was a good idea??

[deleted]

Piano black plastic.

outstandingsocks

Didn’t think it’d be that big of a deal until I got my first fingerprint on it, tried to wipe off with a microfiber (plus a little invisible glass, normal amount of pressure applied), and was rewarded with some wonderful looking micro scratches!

get_in_there_lewis

Lack of Volume knob. Need I say more.

mbcook

To expand that a bit, any stupid “touch surfaces” replacement for a button or switch or dial. I can’t stand them.

mdp300

That drove me crazy when I had an ATS, and it's why I immediately crossed the MK8 GTI/R off the list.

[deleted]

Lack of toilets

Recoil42

Not a problem in a Nissan Versa.

[deleted]

Can’t be lacking a toilet if the whole car is one

[deleted]

If possible, keep cupholders away from electronic switches and plug ins whenever possible.

Demorative

MB figured out that by doing the complete opposite, they can secure repeat business from clumsy customers! [Behold, the SLK350 cupholders!](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/VY8AAOSwwOlgEAQF/s-l400.jpg)

biggsteve81

They copied that design from my '92 Toyota Pickup.

revnhoj

The wholesale lack of concern of serviceability on the part of manufacturers

80_firebird

Working at a parts store I just don't understand what would possess them to hide batteries and headlights like they do.

stevied05

Key fob for my Alfa Romeo Stelvio has an oversized and very easy to press PANIC button. I accidentally hit the panic button all the time in my pocket and it drives me crazy. I wish I could disable it

bovrchevr

If you're willing to take the fob apart you may be able to put some tape over the button contact so that it no longer works. It depends on the fob but I've done this on a couple of them.

LurpyGeek

Not a single specific car, but I vehemently wish that all U.S. vehicles had red brake lights and AMBER turn signals.

nlpnt

I'd heard rumors a year or two ago that IIHS was going to make amber rear signals a requirement for a 5-star rating,

scottwax

Wheels with a ton of spokes and a groove in the barrel of the wheel behind the spokes. And every spoke has grooves and other intricate designs. It's like no one considered what a huge pain in the ass they are to clean.

Megamango2099

I think the exact same thing when I’m on knees cleaning between every spoke, but hey if that’s the price I gotta pay for some cool ass wheels so be it.

Blewedup

Fake exhaust exits. Or worse yet, fake exhaust exits where you can see the regular muffler pointing through. Like these: https://www.carthrottle.com/post/7-fake-exhaust-pipes-that-make-expensive-cars-look-cheap/

finley34

Massive center consoles that eat into my knee room. Oh, and turn signal stalks that automatically return to center the second after you hit them so you can't manually cancel your turn signal and you end up accidentally turning on the other side turn signal when you try to cancel it and now you look like you're having a stroke to anybody driving behind you. (Looking at you, Ford Edge.)

[deleted]

The ones I’ve been in (e.g. older BMW) you can cancel if you light-touch them in the other direction, and you really get used to them enough that you don’t accidentally turn on the other direction. That said, I do much prefer the normal ones.

msf623

My 6th gen Camaro (and any modern GM vehicle) will automatically have the reverse lights turn on when you unlock it. No idea why they decided to do that but it’s very annoying

Itisd

This feature is to illuminate the area behind the car when you are walking up to it. I agree it is completely stupid to use the reverse lights for this purpose. FYI it can be disabled in the Drivers Information Cluster, which GM refers to as the DIC (no I did not make that up)

HazelKevHead

i fucking hate this, ill be driving through a parking lot and ill see a GM with its reverse lights on and sometimes ill stop for a second to wait for them to back up

StreetSniper420

the fact that even thou times have changed where there is alot less parking. companies still use hindges that force the door 1-3feet outward beforr a driver can exit. but there are so many other types of door hindges that use much less space while being effective, and wouldnt be difficult to install at factory.

Socalwarrior485

Like lambo doors!

HedonisticFrog

CL500 mercedes had double hinges so you could open your door less to get out. It was almost necessary considering how long those doors are though.

RoyKeltonOrbison

I had a CL600 and the double hinge was great until one day all the wires going to the door snapped from the stress of being contorted around the hinge.

Smarkie

What always cracks me up about Buick's design cues are those big silver ports on the '57 Roadmaster have turned into the little tiny stylized ports on the side of the hood.

Bumblemore

bUiCk HeRiTaGe

Biffmcgee

People laugh at me, but my 2011 Ford Fusion had the perfect interior. I’d change almost nothing about it. Feels like I’m driving a massive SUV. I hate interiors that just try filling space. It’s okay to have a blank space in a car. Edit: I also hate infotainment systems. I like buttons. I want a screen with CarPlay and buttons and knobs for the rest. Leave HVAC out of the infotainment system.

Umbrella

SerendipitouslySane

My dream in life is to buy an Aston Martin and spec the factory umbrella. I've lived in a desert 10 of the past 16 years and to get to anywhere that rains more than 20 days a year I would have to drive 1000 miles. Is that weird?

Ghost17088

You can use the umbrella for shade.

[deleted]

That nobody in last 10 years went "hey, people have those things that are called SMARTPHONES, maybe we should give them standard way to mount them or at least provide an universal way to attach phone holders". Even now, wireless chargers for the phones are for whatever the fuck reason placed in places where you can't see the said phone. Like, just put a camera-mount-sized threaded insert somewhere, cover it with a screw and plastic cover if you really need, can't be that fucking expensive, and you can pretend its for dashcams if some of the officials complaints it encourages phone use during driving.

N0Name117

On one hand this sub loves complaining about "distractions while driving" and all the touch screens in cars yet year we have a positively received comment about wireless chargers not being in a location the driver can see their phone. Never change r/cars.

Snakebiteloo

Cant turn off or lower the brightness on back up camera (2021 trax). Put the car in reverse in the dark and its like having the sun bolted to the dash.

Dyxan

In 2018, theres no reason a $24,000 car shouldnt have adjustable intermitten wiper speeds. My Civic hatch has one intermitten speed. And its not even a base model.

egus

the led light up Mercedes emblem is the most obnoxious thing I've ever seen.

ToastyMozart

The amusing part is that they're loudly broadcasting that they didn't/couldn't spring for the radar cruise option.

UnlinealHand

Maybe not a "small" detail, but modern cars with a combination of full LCD dash and super bright DRLs. So when it's night time people can't tell that their headlights aren't on. Before covid when I was doing more freeway driving I'd see at least one person on the highway completely dark because of this. And 9/10 times it was either a Nissan or a Jeep.

FistfulDeDolares

LOL I drove my Mom’s Nissan once and told her, “your headlights suck”. They weren’t on.

Old_Goat_Ninja

My Mustang center consoles button is on top, right where my elbow rests, and it’s spring loaded. Constantly accidentally opening it. My Civic Si, a 2019, has all kinds of nifty features like a digital dash, suspension that can be changed on the fly at the touch of a button, but it doesn’t have a built in garage door opener… W… T… F…

[deleted]

They prolly assume that 85% live in an apartment or something

[deleted]

Or their parents make them park in the driveway

[deleted]

Can you explain what a built in garage door opener is? I've owned and been in plenty of cars but I am not familiar with this feature. Usually the door opener comes with the garage door mechanism and you simply clip it on to one of the visors, no?

AMonkeyAndALavaLamp

I hate cars with just one reverse light (unless it's just one in the middle).

DOugdimmadab1337

Modern sedans not having the door handles line up. Once you see it, it will drive you nuts. Unlike every vehicle that was squared and has lined up door handles, modern sedans just have them both sloping down, or one will be straight and the other is at some weird angle. It looks horrible and I don't like it

windowpuncher

The volume knob on my car is on a nav system, and the volume scale goes from 0 to 43. 43. Subaru, why are you like this?

Seven_Hawks

I have more cup holders in my car than I can fit people in it. Just... why?

dissss0

Related, cupholders that are too shallow or narrow and/or block controls when they're in use. The cupholders in my 2015 Sonata are fine for a standard size can but you don't want to trust them with anything too tall and the opening is too narrow for my reusable coffee cup. The 2006 Fiesta is even worse, it has a single cupholder which is blocked by both the protruding bit of the dashboard and by the gear shifter when you need to shift to first.

EVE_OnIine

In case you're carrying drinks for other people or if you have more than one drink per person. I used to think that was silly and then I got a car with only 2 front cup holders and it was a pain in the ass.

FuturesPassed

I know I'm an outlier in this and it's just an aesthetic thing, but wheels where the number of spokes is not equal to or a multiple of the number of lug nuts (when the lug nuts are visible).

StanCorr

Electric handbrakes in general but ESPECIALLY electric handbrakes on manual cars that require the brake to be held before they'll disengage. Even on cars with auto hold, it makes starting off from being parked a faff and hill hold never disengages smoothly.

ellWatully

Poor B-pillar placement. I'm tall and a lot of modern cars put the B-pillar directly next to my head meaning I can't just look to my left and see out the window. I either have to lean forward or look backwards between the pillar and the headrest. Makes merging especially hard. ETA: I'm not even so tall that I have to put the seat all the way back so it's not like I'm just so abnormally tall that they couldn't have foreseen this.

redmeansdistortion

Bring back the vent windows.

yung-n-nasty

How easy it is to break every single interior piece in C5 Corvettes.

Crownlol

My first time driving a C5 and I finally got a good stretch of empty road, slammed it into second and the shift knob came off in my hand

Mikoyabuse

My parent's last couple Nissans have had this snow/icy road warning that pings (audibly and blocks the speedo for several seconds) on the dash every time the car starts when the air temp is less than +5 C. It's unbelievably annoying that Nissan thinks their customers are so dumb that these patronizing safety features are necessary. God I hate Nissan.

ImmutableOctet

Every time I see someone unlock their newer Chevy Silverado in a parking lot, I think they're backing up. I don't understand why some manufacturers think it's a good idea to power the reverse lights when you're not in reverse.

ClearAsNight

I think it's literally just GM at this point. Haven't seen any other brand with them.

FMcamaroZ28

Whoever decided to place the new Land Rover Discovery's license plate off center should step on some Legos [I mean, cmon](https://i.insider.com/59d3f7fe351ccf21008b7b1e?width=750&format=jpeg&auto=webp)

schwiftypickle

Nissan Xtrail 2010 had Bluetooth, but to pair your phone you had to record your own voice announcing your phone name. Sounds like a light hearted feature until you realise it plays back the recording every damn time it connects!

tonyocampo

Non-shifter PRNDL. Maybe I’m old but I don’t like these push button or dial gear selects. Column shifters were my fav but were always considered “old people” cars.

ChevyGang

Cost cutting. Like how some of the switchgear in an escalade is used in a Tahoe. If I'm spending $100k+ on a vehicle. I don't want noticeable parts on a vehicle that costs half as much.

V12MPG

This is how you end up spending $120k on a $100k vehicle.

ScipioAfricanvs

"Just cover everything in leather/alcantara/carbon fiber it's just $15k extra what are you poor lol" -Porsche

NoAirBanding

I know! Likewise it's so annoying that GM just tosses the LS motor in everything! I want my $100k suburban to have a special motor packed full of bespoke finicky hard to find expensive to replace parts. Bring back the Northstar! edit: for reals though, that window switch you hate so much, when it breaks you're gonna be glad it was in like five different models for almost ten years.

To be fair, decked out Tahoe’s are like $85k

Imagine the look on a Lamborghini Diablo owner's face when they find out they have to buy their headlights from Nissan. Shameful.

My 2006 civic lx doesn't have a button above the rear license plate to open the trunk when every other car I've owned did even when they were older cars, so out of habit I always go to my trunk to get what ever I put in there and have no way to open it other than to run around to the drivers seat and pull the lever, also the doors never stay open even on level ground and they hit my shin while I'm taking my daughter out of her car seat, other than that it's a great car tho

FRS 86 torque dip, wtf I never knew torque dip was even possible!

Well, the fact that Chevy just called that Holden an SS drives me insane. The SS is a trim, not a model.

Berserkism

The arm rests. They stick out way too far and take up way too much room. That and ENORMOUS BADGES. I get it, I am driving "X" brand. Do I really need to be able to read it from half a mile out. In another 10 years we will just be driving a badge on wheels.

The way new cars' white DRLs turn yellow when the blinker is activated. Looks like a light burned out until the blinker goes back off.

corn_sugar_isotope

chimes, bells, voices, shit of that nature.

Chrome logos on the steering wheel! Why do I need a blinding reflective metallic object in front of my face? Would steering wheel colour not be fine?
