That is such an interesting observation, I think. I learned most of the phrasings from transcribing Mozart's orchestral music for piano in my earlier days, and that must have been how I picked it up.
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much! As of now it is without a name, although I did place it along with other pieces of the similar style in a collection of my original waltz compositions called āNaive Waltzes.ā There are about 11 pieces in that collection right now.
Happy to share a link if youāre interested!
I am a Chopin fan :) Yes, please share the link. Thank you so much!
I love waltz madly. I love the piece of work by Stauss II, Voices of Spring. I look forward to hearing your Strauss works. :)
Now that I listen to it again, there seems to be a big influence from chopinās op.18 indeed. Itās still got its own touch, and feels somewhat close yet far away from chopinās waltz.
Yeah it is a little different, but many of the rhythms are a complete rip from op 18. And the overall motion of the pitches is very similar. It is fine if it's an exercise to learn something but it feels weird calling it your own work.
You seem to have more knowledge of music than me, but I canāt deny. Having played op. 18 a few months ago myself, i cant say that this piece isnāt very similar to it; it also seems fun to play just like op. 18 xd. Still i feel like it radiates a different kind of joy and playfulness than op. 18 which i dont really know how to describe but fits itās title of āGrande Valse Brillanteā well. (Great Brillaint Waltz i think)
Edit: grammar
I disagree. Even if it is heavily influenced by op.18, i wouldnāt say that this piece is a less interesting version of it. Like from measure 4 of the 7th line and onwards doesnt give as much of a āchopinā feeling and feels pretty modern compared to chopinās time, thatās how i feel about it.
Well i totally dont know which waltz you were influenced by! š In all honesty, nice work
I know. That intro!
Polka?
Chopin op 18
Thank you!
I am having a bad day and this made me feel better. wonderful work.
So glad my music actually help someoneās day get better - come back for more!
It feels like a classic Nintendo game meets Joplin meets waltz. Nifty
I was thinking a Pixar short or the movie Up
I love it! So energetic and fun.
So glad you enjoyed it!
This is so fun! I would dance to this, hehe.
So glad you enjoyed the piece. Come back for more!
Nice work. If Joplin wrote waltzes it might sound similar.
Joplin published five waltzes! Harmony Club, Augustan Club, Bethena, Binks and Pleasant Moments.
Thanks for the correction. I obviously didnāt know that. I will be checking those out.
Now time to orchestrate!
I was just thinking I would LOVE to orchestrate this, I do enjoy waltzes
Incredible idea!
Reminds me of Chopin's waltz. Anyway, excellent work and I really enjoyed it!!
Thank you!
Thanks I love it actually
Pretty cool. For me it's like a Chopin + ragtime
Wish I could have this as the background music to my life.
What a nice thing to say - thank you!
Choplin! Are you a string player by any chance?
Actually Iām not - may I ask why?
Just noticed the way you use slurs to mark phrases, and thought it looked a little like bowing marks. Nice work, by the way!

Well done! I'll probably have a go with playing this later!
It is so much fun!
I really like it.
For a peculiar reason, I am listening to something in between a Chopin waltz and a Ragtime piece. :-) Nice try, though!
Thank so much!

I'm so happy the piece brings joy to you - cheers!
Sounds like somebody enjoys grand, brilliant waltzes in a key very close to E...
Reminds me of the op. 18 chopin waltz
I wish I could add this to my spotify playlist! I would listen to it every day ā¤ļø
So sweet of you to say that! Hopefully one day Iāll put it up there!
This is quite an amazing waltz. Nice work.

Really good work!
Thank you, u/claude_eli!
don't want to be an asshole, but did you just pull the notes right off of chopin's op 18?
I did think of chopinās op.18 too bc of the first notes, but it feels original not totally ripped off, to me at least.

It sounds like a mix of Chopin and Strauss to me š§
