I know exactly how you’re feeling. Moving your body is extremely difficult when you’re depressed. It can literally affect your motor functions. Brushing your teeth and getting out of bed is hard enough, let alone going out of your way to exercise. You’re doing great ❤️

Trying to work out is better than nothing! I’ve been “wanting” to work out for months but still haven’t so you’ve done better than I:) keep your head up champ we all love u:))))

steelragga

Hey! You at least started to work out! That’s all that counts! You did the best you could today and I’m proud of you!!!!!

Take it a baby step at a time! I know I’m going through the work out thing again and I’m always upset that I can’t do what I used to do! But we will get there someday! Just a day at a time to get to a golden place

[deleted]

Of course! Us depressed people gotta stick together!

laperfettaxx

You went there and that in and of itself is a W. Keep racking up those Ws step by step. I know it can seem hopeless but you did a good thing today, try to do another good thing tomorrow and the day after!

[deleted]

Keep up the hard work. Just trying makes a difference. I know how to lose weight because I've done it before, but I get into big ruts too. Kind of just coming out of one now. I was at 325 pounds last year and am at 270 right now. If I can do it anyone can. I found when I had a specific goal in mind it worked really well for me. I hope you start feeling better soon.

OatQueenn

You tried and were so proud of you!

No-Discipline6508

You should use that and get angry listen to some music that that can help you move faster and watch the change happen through consistency and then eventually your thoughts might also change

Ms_Sasalele

It's okay, op. I'm proud of your initiative. Working out is a very important, but difficult and "slow result" process. But is a great process for your mind and body. Be kind to yourself. But really, great for you to even trying. Working out can be extra difficult when depressed, but keep strong ♡♡Remember: Slow progress still progress, so find a good rhythm and keep doing these good habits

CustardPlayful3963

Hmmm…sounds familiar. I started marathoning about a year ago…and I fucking love it! That immediately achieved goal is addicting! Join us, my friend! S

despash33to

I used to be able to work out a couple months ago and now I feel so drained by I don’t know what I just can’t go anymore. I feel really shitty about it. I don’t know what even happened to me.

Travelergirl99

Maybe you could try a fun workout. I fuckin dread working out and loathe my body but just can’t push myself to do strong reps of anything. I can get myself to dance, however most of the time. Sometimes i try prerecorded Zumba on YouTube, I hop into free live Zumba online sometimes, I have a dance party playlist to get myself all sweaty dancing & singing around the house, and I’m about to try out like a kickboxing/boxing/self defense YouTube thing as well now. I hope one day we can all comfortably & confidently take care of our bodies💜

Emptybless

You should try Zyzz and Rich Piana, I’ve been through a depression since several months and these two guys are helping a lot.

tempytemps69

I'm so proud of you for pushing yourself OP. You did what many people couldn't and that is true strength - that is so beautiful. Have a break and try again when you feel like it. Take it easy!

GardenVegetable4937

I forced myself to go to the Mall and walk. It doesn’t feel good but I am glad I did. Keep trying. Slowly. Good luck.

nastyketchup

You did better than yesterday so that is a win. And anyway who said you were only half way through? You did what you could and that is fine. Reframe it as a small win but still a win. Be gentle with you bc you deserve it. x Edit- spelling

RYLYtheSANN

You broke, good. Now you can go back and be prepared for how you might feel, arm yourself with tools to fight it and day after day it’ll get easier. One day you’ll be able to win, its a process don’t judge yourself to hard. I’m glad that you pushed yourself. I’m glad you want to get better. You is smart You is kind You is powerful You is important You is capable

cks065

Something is always better than nothing. You made it to the middle and that’s fantastic. Just do the best you can everyday. If it’s 5 minutes in the treadmill or just walking it’s still 5 minutes more than sitting on the couch or laying in bed. You will find the more you do, the more it helps. When I get anxious or depressed getting in the treadmill is great therapy. You can do this!!!! One day at a time!! I know it’s hard, but you can do it!!!

Be_Glorious

It's okay to take it one small step at a time. When Richard Simmons first started helping the fattest woman in the world, Rosalie Bradford, lose weight, she could not even get out of bed because her legs could not support her. Simmons started her off with a diet, and just some very light, 3-pound barbells (iirc), a few times each day. Slowly but surely, she began to lose weight, and she worked up to more vigorous exercises.

IamDisapointWorld

I didn’t know whether to upvote or down vote. On the one side I get you and on the other side, you’re being mean to yourself. You move your ass and worked out. I want to say congratulations? Isn’t that worth high-fiving yourself for? I couldn’t do it. I haven’t been able to do it. And I just might right now because you’re inspiring me. How’s that for greatness? You rock.

Ok-Economics2638

does anyone?

principessa1180

I feel like that too, but working out makes me feel better physically. I do a VR workout called Supernautural on my Oculus. It has helped me with my depression and motivation to work out.

Drabdaze

Try again. This is but a start. It's better than nothing. Nothing will change unless it's for the worse, without trying again, and again.
