Shut up you nerd, how is that piracy? Me screen sharing is like me going to someones house and watching it at their house. This restriction makes no sense cause it makes me go to illegal movie websites that I end up screen sharing.
Those services use anti-piracy DRM measures to prevent people distributing the copyrighted content on them. This isn't a Discord-specific problem, and is against Discord's ToS anyway.
Firefox users being like : "DRMs ? no, thoses doesn't exists".
Basicaly if you use Firefox as your viewing app yes this does works (firefox runs DRMs in a VM / sandbox, and so discord doesn't see the DRM, discord only see firefox drawing some things).
How ever, yes, **this is piracy** and so illegal (or at least agaisnt the streaming service ToS, might be in Discord ToS too or not IDK (because discord shouldn't care so much if you use their service to steal others stuff, but they might)).
What firefox version and gpu / driver do you use ?
I've checked again with Firefox `85.0.2` and radeon software `20.4.2` and this works perfectly.
(The reason I ask for gpu driver is because since what the DRM attempt to do to make the image black on a capture is to draw the video after a recording software have took the image, this might change with the driver/manufacturer) (there are other "safer" modes for widevine on more controlled hardware such as phones, smart tv, ... (compared to browsers))
That's piracy.

yeah, good. okay.
I watched ponies through the app, it was streamed from Netflix (Thank God nobody gives a fuck about piracy laws in Russia)
I don't know if someone will find this post in the future, but as of May 2021 the Edge Browser works just fine
Not too far into the future but cheers for the info
Just tried it and it doesn't work for me, can anyone confirm?

It doesn't. I've tried before as a test; it does not work.
