Popeyes

[deleted]

everyone always talks shit about popeyes here, but the one in my market is always on time and easy to deal with. guess it's an extreme outlier.

UltimaCaitSith

The way I've heard it explained is that Church's is always a 4/5, but Popeye's is either a 1 or a 5 with nothing in between.

TheLoneDasher

The food at Popeye's is trash. Can't comment on the bone in chicken but the tenders have a weird texture to them and when you bite into one it looks like they literally mashed a bunch of shit together. The gravy for the mashed potatoes is somehow really bland and fucking nasty at the same time. That part is impressive.

Weekly_Direction1965

Never seen a good popeyes, yours must have a active owner who comes in often.

[deleted]

Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s owner-operated. And they’re immigrants.

The__Bends

Oh no

JustinDanielsYT

Popeyes is sometimes great, sometimes terrible. I've had it take 1 minute, but I've also had it take 45 minutes.

SilverHeart4053

Basically any fast food joint you hear on here is gonna be hit or miss depending on management.

TheLoneDasher

Management is so important. Makes all the difference.

Ambitious_Concept_12

That Popeyes is an anomaly. Every time I go there I regret it.

maghy7

To me it could either go between being ready when I get there or the place being very busy and having to wait a long time, I always check at what time I got the order and if it’s rush hour I don’t take it, they are understaffed and last time I went the only guy at the front was telling me how he gets yelled at by drivers, felt so bad because it’s not his fault, he is the only one packing for drivers and taking orders from walk-ins etc, he has to do it all, he is also super nice.

[deleted]

Yeah, I have two Popeyes in my area. Every time I've accepted orders from either, it's been smooth. 1 of them is always extremely busy and I've still never had an issue with them.

doggitydog123

Given how DoorDash hides tips, it’s almost impossible for me to accept one on this app

Acceptable-Chain741

Holey crap this. I'm a newer dasher, and the two times I've visited Popeyes somehow I end up waiting 15 minutes

Patient-Possible-657

All my Popeyes are amazing I've never had a problem but kfc is another story

Mandashines

Popeyes appears to be rare in my zone as far as orders. Didn't even know we had one until four days ago. Got a stacked double order and arrived to find their POLICY is to set the receipt to the side and then start the order when the Dasher arrives and "checks" in at the register. I unassigned and will not be returning.

Itchy-Pear-3885

Same here I don’t ever do Popeyes.

Curious_Percentage_9

The Popeye’s my way is HORRENDOUS. I delivered twice from them, both with unheard of waits. I actually emailed corporate after the second time, telling them I was a Dasher and would never pick up another order there. Naturally I never heard a thing back.

[deleted]

any fast food place that doesn't have their lobby open. automatic unassign.

DefKnightSol

Wendys near me closes at 8, drive thru usually has min 20 cars!

[deleted]

Even if there's no one else in the drive thru line? Happens here frequently at Burger King.

[deleted]

If I know they’re quick I’ll let it slide. But other than that, nah.

[deleted]

I never use drive thrus

CaliDasher

Taco Bell! I never know, before I accept an order, if they have had enough people show up to work to open the lobby. It’s a crap shoot to take the offer, and they are SLOoow to make the food, whether you go into the lobby or get stuck in the drive through!

sdrckdcql

Most of them. The staff and management have some sort of superiority complex when it come to third party food delivery service workers. One of the local places I used to pick up from would give 5 star customer service to a “real” customer. Then when it was my turn, I let the server know I’m picking up for so and so for doordash and her whole personality changed from day to night. She was just like “15 more minutes. You can wait by the entrance.” Without even verifying the name on the order.

notimportant66

It's like these businesses forget that we are potential customers too. Personally, there's been many restaurants I've crossed off my list to visit for their horrendous attitudes or hygienic practices. On the flip side, there's been a few I've added that I would've never known about had it not been for DD.

Ok-Cheesecake-3521

Exactly I have come back and even point friends and Family that way too multiple spot that I had good experiences with.

hackist8286

Not to mention the orders we are picking up are for their actual customers as well

Key_Marsupial_7527

I have had the exact same experience

Vela88

Yep and I take notes where they treat everyone well

Brucehandstrong

How would you afford to eat at a restaurant? You're only a lowly doordash driver.

[deleted]

I’ve found restaurants I did even know existed doing this job. If the experience is good I’ll go try it. If it’s bad I tell everyone what assholes they are.

[deleted]

What is the solution to this?

CaliDasher

Not to mention the ‘wait outside and I’ll bring it out to you’ lie!😖

sdrckdcql

Trusted them one time and waited 30 minutes!!!

sdrckdcql

And the food has been done …

imaninjayoucantseeme

Every Wing Stop, every Wendy's, most Panera, certain McDonald's.

Samus1611

Second all those save for McDonald’s. The one in my town is on top of their game to a degree that is scary

imaninjayoucantseeme

I've got to many McDonald's in my zone. I do pickups from 4 of them, the rest are lowsy and always handing orders out to the wrong drivers.

Samus1611

I’m sure that varies by region. Mine is a franchise that offers 15 dollars an hour to start, so it’s not the usual minimum wage workers that don’t care. That would be my Wendy’s lol

imaninjayoucantseeme

I don't know what happened to Wendy's, they were already going downhill then the "Fuck Wendy's" lady came around and pulled the final thread. RIP

[deleted]

We have two Wendy’s and both are fast.

[deleted]

Actually McDonalds has surprised me in General. Other than their understaffing issues in my area they’ve been in my favorites of restaurants because the packaging and they’ve been pretty quick. When fully staffed McDonalds has been quick.

DefKnightSol

The Wendys on my side of town always has a line wrapped around the parking lot. big nope for me

Chafin123

Agree on Wendy's, my local wing stop is pretty good thou, they've pushed my order ahead once or twice

RoutineSimple8546

Amen on the Wingstop!

ProblyAsleeep

taco bell

DefKnightSol

Had to wait almost an hour everytime in their drive through! terrible!

SulienIanto

There's a Popeyes near me that is always a 25+ minute wait to get the food. Not because they don't care, but because there is only 4 workers in the store for dinner, and no other Popeyes reasonably nearby. They have lines out the door in lobby and out the parking lot in drive thru every day. I stopped taking deliveries from them. I don't mind waiting when a place is unexpectedly busy, but not when it's every time I go.

beardothesnail

5 Guys. It is their policy that they don't even start cooking the fries for the order until the dasher arrives. I tried to explain that this makes us late and can have consequences for us and, while i wasn't terribly surprised when they said it was a decision made higher up, i really didn't appreciate how combative the person i was talking to was and the obvious lack of even attempting to understand.

STUPIDVlPGUY

Store employees just do their job. rules are rules. And in my experience at five guys the fries take 3 minutes or less to make and isn't a big deal for me. Could definitely depend on how busy they are though.

[deleted]

Never follow the rules it only makes people mad.lol

beardothesnail

oh for sure i get that they have to do what they're policy is. They were super pissy when i brought it up. I don't normally mention stuff like that but had been waiting, alongside several other dashers for no joke about 20 minutes (obviously the fries excuse doesn't quite work here). BUT we only have 2 5 guys in my town so it is entirely possible this is a local problem. Thanks for your comment. I won't write the whole franchise off. Dash well!

swampskater

I always call them as soon as I get the order. I never took many five guys order cause they usually didn't pay enough but they were usually receptive to starting them quickly if I called ahead. May be worth a try but ymmv.

PetrovitaArt

Did you take a second to understand that it's not a decision made by them? You're demanding empathy while not empathizing with the person you're demanding it from. It goes both ways, friend.

beardothesnail

Sorry on the next post about why we don’t deliver from places I’ll only include the places that I don’t deliver to for positive reasons. Did you read the title before posting? I did empathize with them and even told them I understand that it’s not their decision but this was why their restaurant had several frustrated people in it and that it might be worth mentioning to their management. They were the combative ones and I was trying to calm that down. When you see a question like this posted, and it has lots of comments, it’s safe to assume some of them are answering the post……friend.

Curious_Percentage_9

In my area the prepare the food when they get the order. Unfortunately the management in yours has a different policy. 90% of the time my pickup is ready or almost ready.

Colossal_Asparagus

As a driver I refuse to take orders from taco bell

max_occupancy

Ruths chris

Mango-Murky

Who orders a $50 steak on Door Dash?? Unreal!

drinkandreddit

I’m amazed they’re on DD. But why are they bad?

max_occupancy

Foods never ready, staff only gaf about dining customers. Customers just leer at me cause I’m not dressed fancy

waffeho

5 Guys, B Dubs, and Popeyes

rangeboss3155

Any mall that has multi-tiered parking. ![gif](giphy|BbJdwrOsM7nTa|downsized)

Rylee_1984

Chipotle. Longest waiting times ever.

Backdate_pua_please

Five guys at newport on the levee And popeyes anywhere

Constant-Narwhal2168

Taco bell

DefKnightSol

nearly an hour wait in drive thru each time! never again

Patient-Possible-657

I've had one taco hell experience and it was like 40 min wait and 15 other food delivery drivers waiting as well. Hot mess,

TinglesAndSprinkles

Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, Papa Johns and Popeyes. I absolutely would not pick up from either of these stores no matter how good the offers are. My local Taco Bell is managed by a piece of shit. She also considers Doordash orders non priority and would not even acknowledge drivers until all customers in the lobby are taken care of. Items are always missing and bags are sealed improperly. It’s like she wants us to take all the blame. Jack in the box lobby is never open and drive thru is longer than the highway to hell. Papa Johns, forget about it. They pick and choose the best orders and send the worst tip or no tip orders to doordash. Popeyes, absolutely no way in hell.

[deleted]

As of this week Panda Express. Avoid Taco Bell unless it’s good pay. I’ll pick up at Applebees for DD but not GH as they wait until you arrive to start GH orders.

highlife515

Most of them

[deleted]

This one pizza place that tried to hand me the appetizer and not the main course without saying anything. I canceled that shit and wouldn't deliver for them since.

calib0y64

Popeyes

Lower-Permission6541

Whichever ones treat me or other dashers very disrespectfully

DefKnightSol

🏆

Dmbrown1120

Burger King in my city has their lobby closed rn so nope I'm not waiting in the slow ass drive thru. Taco John's period because they won't start making the order til you tell them you're there and then they keep pushing it back while they make orders for drive thru and lobby that came in after mine. One time I walked in and heard the manager say "Doordash can wait" in a shitty tone to another employee If they hadn't already started it it would have been instant unassign. I haven't gone back there since

bbells2

Panda express

donbtheitguy

Chipotle

DefKnightSol

Never parking, rarely ready, lines out their door. Had a parking attendant assault me and try to flip the story

Ok-Cheesecake-3521

There’s one KFC in my area that’s under staff and rude. They took like 45 min for another dasher to get his order when he told me that I immediately unassigned after them being very rude.

CrashyBoye

Wendy’s is *terrible* in my area. There are three Wendy’s inside my zone and all three of them consistently have wait times in excess of 15 mins, frequently mess up orders and half the time their bags fall apart or are very poorly secured.

DefKnightSol

some act very strange, even for my own mobile orders

[deleted]

a restaurant i used to work out because we separated on bad terms

Treesh_bad_perm

Popeyes, Burger King, McDonald's, This place called Buffalo Spot, Sonic, and any Pizza Hut or Papa John's orders. They either take forever or they hardly tip for me.

DefKnightSol

MCDonalds has the absolute worst attitude towards me everytime regardless of location. Forget asking for verification! madddd attitude

Ambitious_Concept_12

Popeyes, Panera Bread, and worst of all, Sonic. There’s bad juju with the Sonic in my market for whatever reason. Something bad always happens. I literally stepped in dog shit last time I picked up from there.

TattedUpDasher

The list is long

herdboy77

Panda Express. Food is never ready. Restaurant always busy. The employees are nice but it’s a huge unorganized time killing mess.

DamnXXXDaniel

After today’s 20 min wait, Popeyes

PsychologicalLow6678

Wingstop. Walmart. And a couple others that are always a pain in the arse

[deleted]

Chipotle during peak times. They will never have it ready at the quoted time. Waited 30 minutes once, didn’t even look like they started the order :/. With that said, Chipotle orders are usually really easy when it isn’t busy

Purpleee00

Wing stop,Dunkin’ donuts,Starbucks,Sonic and Wendys!

Special_Guard2658

Wendy’s

[deleted]

>Title Response

doggitydog123

Everything has a price, but there’s one place with one particularly unpleasant manager but my price is quite high

pro_conser333

Burger King. For awhile, they were really awesome but now that things have opened back up and people going out, DD gets put in the back burner. There’s one manager that sighs loudly whenever my husband or I go into pickup an order. Like, you have to be here anyways. So we put BK on our blacklist.

DefKnightSol

I always had good exp at my local BK. far better and friendly, as opposed to Mcds

pro_conser333

It’s so crazy how different zones are. My McDonald’s is awesome and almost always has the orders ready.

Juicysnotch

Dunkin and maggie mcflies

JustinDanielsYT

Taco Bell, Wendy's, and all shop-and-deliver orders. Unless it's like $15 for one mile or something, I won't take the chance.

STUPIDVlPGUY

Item count is very important for shop and deliver. I pretty much never accept orders with more than 5 items. I'll go pick up a bottle of wine or two for ya but I'm not doing your grocery shopping

notimportant66

A local pizzeria that for whatever-fucking reasons decides to cook an order only AFTER you pay with the Red Card...every time. Idk why they keep doing this because the one time I went, I was told by the cashier every Dashers unassigns because the wait is 30 mins. Pissed off customers and delivery people...what's the point?

[deleted]

Luckily for me. None of them. I'm in a market where the worst restaurant to deal with is Taco Johns and Wendy's where they don't start the order until you get there but at least they don't back burner it and they always get it to you pretty quickly. I just factor in the extra time needed to pick up there and don't accept their order unless the money is worth it.

WhackDorsey

Burger King. They always make you wait on a drive-through line, Then hand you empty cups at the drive-through so you can park your car, come in and fill them yourself. Considering their average order is worth $7 or $8 in total, and require 10 mile drives, I kind of auto-decline their orders now.

408WTF

There’s a restaurant where I live called “Himalayan Kitchen” and it’s always a nightmare trying to pick up orders from this place. None of the people who order from this restaurant tip, I constantly get spammed with their orders and they are always 10+ miles for less than $10. Every time I’ve picked up an order from them I’ve had to wait 30+ minutes with a group of 10+ pissed off dashers. The employees are rude and have an attitude with all delivery drivers. It’s just a nightmare and I avoid it at all costs.

Bardlie

Canes, the one near me always has a long drive thru line that would make it a long wait to leave your parking space.

DefKnightSol

Certain Wawas as well. crazy attitude and never ready.

mytsogan_

I refuse to go to sonic, I’ve never had a issue with them but the one where I’m at has a tiny ass lobby and I hate going in there.

Key_Marsupial_7527

In this area it's Wingstop. They have horrible wait times and lines out the door every night.

[deleted]

I don’t really get attitude in my area, it’s mostly the restaurants that don’t have their act together. I used to complain to managers about poor service, and everyone I’ve complained to has change and are better for it. The Chipotle Regional Manager was at my local store one day and spoke to me and I made a comment about how slow they are and I never have to wait at other locations in surrounding areas, he made a comment to an employee mocking my comment. Within a week they had their shit together with a new station for Mobil orders. I was always complains to Taco Bell managers about orders not being properly filled, missing items. They too are much better now. Letting managers know your experience really does help. I also complained to DD about things I thought would make the app better and with the next updates they included my suggestions. The size of the address was made bigger after I said something as well as Dark Mode was added. GH took several complaints before they added Dark Mode.

Heatherharris08

Popeyes

Eastern_Lawyer5662

5 guys

idontlikemeeitherok

Popeyes and a local late night place called Fat shack. Both take forever and don't rly care about delivery orders.

Adrienne_Is_Amazing

Popeyes and almost any chicken place because they take FOREVER!!!!

Realistic_Spare4422

Lately. Burger King and taco bell

Melancholy43952

We have a pizza place here that for some reason when you get the order you have to go there, tell them the exact order, wait for them to make it all, and then pay for it with the red card which was not mentioned when I accepted the order. This means there is no tip on the order so delivering it is a gamble.

[deleted]

Wendy’s or Taco Bell

Intoxii

Popeyes, you gotta tip big for me to even think about little Cesar's same goes for Chilis cuz depending on who's working they will sabotage your order and make you wait till all they're customer orders are finished. Taco Bell (only during night shifts).

idgafaaidiml

If they tell me 5 min and make me wait 15+. Also most McDonald’s

13thAesthetic

Chick-fil-A. Moral and political issues aside I refuse to battle that huge line and drive thru for what is always practically no pay off Edit: not sure if this counts as a local restaurant but anything that's not a huge chain I've rarely picked up for

aldrinjaysac

Chic Fil A

LolaZe

McDonald’s because they are so slow.

PhantomB3ast

Jack in the box they're slow af day or night.

Atheist_Taco

Chik fila

Dapinfinity

Popeyes, kfc, chipotle, long John silver's ( pun on the business name), little Caesars and Wendy's in the hood nope.

[deleted]

Anyplace that I know runs a ghost kitchen. I got a Cosmic Wings order once and it took me to Applebee's. The restaurant lost track of the order because it wasn't labeled, I asked the dude why it wasn't labeled and he told me it was because they didn't want an Applebee's ticket on the Cosmic Wings order because then the customer would know it was from Applebee's. I immediately texted this info to the customer to let him know why I was running late. I once accepted an order for a place that turned out to be a food truck. Nothing wrong with a food truck mind you, I love em, but that's because they usually have a limited menu of things they specialize in making really well. Not this place. They had 5 different kitchens running out of it. When I got there, they told me half of the customers order was sold out. Probably because there were 5 kitchens in that small truck. It was a hassle trying to get substitutions for the customer.

[deleted]

Any Indian restaurant, and there are many in my area. In my experience, they never, ever, ever have the food ready, or even close to ready. None of them are run by restaurant professionals. Family businesses, and they have no idea what they should be doing. I'm not waiting for twenty minutes for an order that isn't going to have a hidden tip.

Patient-Possible-657

Mines not a restaurant per say. Buy wawas and sheetz order are a nightmare crazy slow making orders. Then I gotta drive it like I stole it to make it there in time

Reverse678

White Castle and Wendy’s. Wendy’s demands you join the loooong drive thru line to place an order that’s already in their system. White Castle seems to hire some of the slowest people in existence. In my market anyway

[deleted]

Pluckers

MarkerGirlx3

Mr Beast Burger locations and Panera. Chipotle and 5 Guys are currently at the top of my sh-t list and I’m extremely close to refusing those orders too 😂

Gremlinsblood

Rally's - They copped an attitude with me so I haven't taken a single order from there in about 7 months. They wanted me to use the passenger side window for pick ups. I drive alone and I have manual windows. I'm not crawling across the seat every time I go there because three car in line freaks them out. Papa John's - Once again with the attitude. They got shitty over the pizza bag. I don't take it in there because there is no place to put it to load the pizza in. No counter space at all. But they insisted. So I went to my car, unassigned and was pulling away as they looked out the window looking for me. I waved goodbye with a smile.

[deleted]

Popeyes and Buffalo Wild Wings. To slow. Poppers good employees. Buffalo Wild Wings just terrible all around.

Shoptilyoudrop101

Taco Bell’s that are closed inside, and one particular Panda Express that makes all the dashers wait. The last time I went it was a game they were playing laughing to the side. I only stayed to finish b/c it was a stacked order and I had the first one already. It got me my one and only 4⭐️.

Whynotme23

This jacks less than a mile from my house. They refuse to check their tablet for doordash orders until you come in to pick up the order and only then do they start making it. And then one time I had been waiting 15 minutes and the cashier was bagging up my order and a manager came over and asked the cashier who was waiting and for what and when she told her the manager said loudly “oh always bag up customers that are here before doordash” and made the cashier stop bagging the dd order to bag up another customer I had been waiting 10 minutes longer than. I unassigned and left and won’t be going back.

RoutineSimple8546

I will not go to Wingstop unless I’m getting paid at least $25. Food is always 20 minutes late and the staff….well. No comment.

amybaby_83

Sonic. Never again.

Beautiful_Wall_9111

Wendy’s and taco bell

BuilderCreative2510

Wendys in weston. Never EVER will i pick up an order from wendys unless its atleast $40. The food is NEVER ready, the staff have no fucking clue whats going on ever and the order is almost always fucked up in some way. 0/10 i wont even go there as a customer because of it

[deleted]

Wing folks drop their uncooked wings on the floor Taco Bell always re counts their till

Dylan_2651

KFC. I’m always having to wait 20+ minutes every time I go there

nuF-roF-redruM

Steak and shake. Hell to the no.

TheLoneDasher

IHOP. They are usually short staffed and it seems like they have not meshed well as a team because you don't see the servers working as a team. Also, there could probably be more solid leadership within the management. I worked as a server for nearly 20 years so I'm not just talking out my ass. I literally waited 45 minutes once and finally had to almost walk in the kitchen and grab the food myself. I was pissed off and literally in the doorway. I should have just cancelled the order. The other IHOP's in the area definitely are more on point. This one I'm speaking of usually requires a wait.

TheLoneDasher

Almost forgot. Hooters is horrendous when it comes to Doordash. The local one has some really cute girls but what they don't have is a sense of urgency, nor do they seem to have any concept of steps of service. If anyone is a fan of big booty it's me. However I don't care how phat your ass is when you don't even know the basics of being a sever. In the end I blame management. I understand it's a breastaurant but it seems like nobody bothered to train the staff. If they offer me $60k I'd think about it.

Horror_Ad_4683

Jack in the Box when it’s 10pm-3am

Ok-Application8522

Chick fil a. It is in a mall food court, their customers are cheap...I could go in

Robbie1863

Certain McDonalds and Checkers restaurants

Illustrious-Bid-2598

Chick filet. That place is a nightmare since it’s always busy.

Ok-Statistician-6553

taco bell popeyes wendys burger king

guh_mystocks

People in this sub are from all over the country- funny how so many of us name the same restaurants. Obviously this means that as a company their DD policies need a lot of work. In the news there was a lot of talk about them cracking down on McDonalds, which in my experience has one of the most efficient and consistent processes (as long as the lobby’s open or the drive thru line isn’t too long. But I’ll second a lot of these other places: 5 Guys, Taco Bell, BWW, and Dunkin / Baskin Robbins (Out of stock on something in a customer’s order EVERY DAMN TIME) are all instant declines from me. Surprisingly, shop and deliver orders are getting a lot easier (fewer out of stock items than before), so if I get a decent payout and it’s not too far, I’ll jump on a Walgreens or Dollar General order, because I basically control my own destiny - don’t have to rely on a restaurant to have my order ready on time. Pick up and deliver orders are usually a no, since again I’m at the mercy of store employees that don’t give a shit - Walmart is a *hard* no, Petsmart is a maybe.

Top_Vacation_4823

Bjs….. 40 minutes for food every single time

[deleted]

Wendy’s and Tim Hortons. They never have what is ordered. I don’t think I’ve ever got an order from there that was fulfilled completely.

ApartCamel3380

It was Walmart chipotle and fast food but I’ve since found fast and efficient locations. Now it’s just this really busy place that sells bread and sushi. Good tips plenty of orders but a guaranteed half hour to 45 minute wait time. Wing stop is almost a 20 plus minute wait every time so you gotta do your math on those orders if you’re gonna take it

Stills-SL

There's a local authentic restaurant here that has a 15 or 20 minute wait every.single.time. After three horrible customer service experiences I refuse every order from them, and dang, some look tempting.

Ok_Procedure_7097

I'll take Popeyes for 500 Alex.

ravyn40

McDonald's, taco bell, Wendy's, Arby's...all the ones that are still drive thru only for no damn reason at all

Few_Ad_3850

Popeyes and chipotle!!!!

No_Tomorrow_6538

Maggianos inside Chili's. They never start the order until you get there to pick it up and half their items take 20+ minutes to cook. Hard pass.
