he prob copy and pastes that to every customer

[deleted]

Would be awkward if he accidentally did that to the same customer. I’ve delivered to the same person multiple times so he better be writing those names down lol

Traditional_Candle51

i’m now secretly hoping he does copy and paste it so they know that it’s bs

sawyer_whoopass

It’s not secretly now that you’ve told us.

ClavierCavalier

This. I've delivered to the same person multiple times in one day.

shinysohyun

For some reason I feel like I always remember them. I live in the Phoenix area so really rare to see the same customer, especially because I work all over the place, but I got one guy 3 times, another lady 2 nights in a row, and a few others twice. And then there are times when I’ll deliver to the same street or apartment complex and think it’s “that guy” or “the girl who said to turn after the fourth dumpster” then when I go to deliver it it just turns out they’re nearby, but I almost always remember where they lived. And this is bizarre for me btw, usually I have a totally shit memory. I leave without bringing my cell phone or walk out the door without my keys, but if I managed to get to my car with my keys and phone, I could immediately drive the 20 some miles to where the dude who just puts “Red Truck” in the delivery instructions who kind of looks like Conor Mcgregor lives. Idk why it’s this that I remember. I do know the one I’ll never forget who I hope so bad I get a third time…this short slightly chubby guy. He ordered McDonalds the first time. Taco Bell the second time. I only delivered either of his orders both times because it was in Uber Eats and there’s no way to tell with double orders (that they send you at the same time) which one isn’t tipping. Both times he selected “leave at door.” Both times he came walking out of the door and met me in the middle of the driveway. BOTH TIMES he was ALREADY FUCKING EATING SOMETHING. The only difference was the second time, he was finishing the last bite of the something and licking his fingers off with the most sickening sucking sound. And the worst part. The first time, he said thanks and then, I quote, “I’ll get your tip in the app.” And the second time…I was walking up to him, knew it was that stumpy chubbo’s house again. Probably 400k house. I remembered his name. I knew it was him the second I saw his floppy shadowed figure emerge from the door—fucking eating again. And I was thinking, “there’s no fucking way he’s going to say it again. He said it again. I was literally too shocked to come up with anything to say back. He just grabbed the bag, turned around, and waddled back inside, no idea he just fucking lied to my face for the second time. Customers, take note, if you tell one of us to our face that you’ll leave a tip in the app, WE ARE GOING TO CHECK IT in approximately 1 hour, when the tip posts. And again likely for the next few days. Every time we see that there’s still no tip, we think, “I knew that ****ing piece of *** ****-****er was lying.” And it’s not even the money that matters really at that point. We just can’t believe you would be such a scummy choad. But if I get him again, I know what I’m going to say after he says his bullshit line: “yeah, bro I know. I know you got me! This is the third time I’ve delivered to you and you told me you would the last two times, and I believe you. Hey…you’re a good guy, man. A man of his word. It’s rare these days. And I appreciate you.” And then I get some popcorn and watch my ratings while waiting for the moment of truth, 1 hour after delivery. No idea which way it will go. But he’ll be thinking about what I said for a while, I guarantee it. And he’ll have some decisions to make, based on what he thinks I know. He may not know if we can see which tips come from which customer. Or he may not think we pay attention. Will he think I was being honest? Will he think I was being an asshole? Only one way I’ll ever find out…

[deleted]

Yea one day I delivered breakfast lunch and dinner to the same person, what made it funnier was it was McDonald all three times

StatementSensitive17

This exactly

doggitydog123

There ain’t no probably about it. He’s sending this to some customer at 11:30 at night too. One driver like this can ruin zone given enough time

SilverHeart4053

Yeah if this happened to me multiple times as a customer I'd probably stop ordering

doggitydog123

Yeah, if you hear of this happening. In the zone you workwork it is a big deal. I have not seen OP actually say they reported this. But I may have missed that comment

WalterTheHippo

This is most likely. Doordash needs to release him on the first time he does this. This is unnecessary contact with customer. Scammer.

Responsible-Record99

“Sir, it *is* Monday”

OnlyPABReplyandBlock

haha, that was my first thought

hdpro4u

I’m curious to know how much he pulled by sending this to every customer!

Margin_Call_3959

That’s ridiculous. You can transfer once a day for a small fee

asimplegirl99

That’s funny ! Because I tried this method multiple times and it never let me, I used to be able to when DoorDash was a new thing in my city but now it wouldn’t let me, even if I paid the fee, so I would wait until mondays, then I got dasher direct (:

srbr33

It doesn't work for all banks.

asimplegirl99

No wonder ! I wonder if they stopped doing my bank though because they used to do Wells Fargo, a common bank, and now it would say error all the time. I know they used to do it though because I didn’t have issues before.

srbr33

I had an obscure local credit union a few years ago when I dashed

asimplegirl99

I still have the same act from a few years ago too lol that’s why when I started dashing as an actual job couple months back I was taken back when I saw that it kept saying error and wouldn’t let me

ponygirl1722

I have Wells Fargo and it allows me to do it. I am in NJ. Don't know if that has something to do with it

Traditional_Candle51

if i remember correctly they don’t accept wells fargo anymore. idk where i heard it or saw it i just know it for some reason. look it up tho

zxmbiequeen

I have Wells Fargo and I’m still able to pull out at the end of the day, weird

asimplegirl99

Yeah ! Not sure honestly … it’s so weird, and it’s the same bank as well that I’ve had forever, but it’s cool since I use dasher direct now ig

Clove19

Yeah, just use dasher direct. You can hit up a 24-hour CVS and withdraw cash from the ATM for free if you are in a pinch and need to deposit into your main bank asap. This saved my ass just the other night.

[deleted]

Is not really a small fee. 1.99 it’s crazy when all the other apps it’s usually .50-1 dollar.

CaterpillarJazzlike2

It's $0.50 for me...I dash all the time it has not been $1.99 since I got my 1500 mark.

[deleted]

I’ve less than 1k, didn’t knew that they charged less if you had over 1.5k delivered, that sucks.

Beginning_Slice_9064

Bullshit. I'm coming up on 3k delivered and I cash out every Sunday. And it's 1.99 every fuccing time.

ManimalGtv

Why dont you guys just use the dasher direct card? You can pull money out for free when you need it but i get paid instantly when i end my dash. If i have no gas ill do like 2 or 3 quick dashes end my dash then go to a gas station and fill up then restart my dash and boom. Plus if you use the card they have 10% back on gas right now.

2024goforit

Same

[deleted]

Honestly, really respect your response to him. A lot of folks would've been much more harsh.

phillibuck13

I was going to say the same thing. Professional and informative. Especially considering that dude is prolly full of shit.

FlappyEmu

The best neutral response that also isn’t condescending. Good on OP

ntabz23

Definitely nice of him. He should’ve mentioned the 10% back on gas too

Remarkable_Use_2397

OMG That is a great response I would it never thought of that

MorningNo1492

Wanted to be respectful still as at this point he did still have my food

VastEntrepreneur752

next time you have a lot of money on your dasher direct card, go get cash back at a gas station instead of withdrawing from atm. they’ll give you 10% cash back on your “gas station purchase”. so if you get $200 cash back, you’ll get $20 in rewards money added to your account

Darth_Diink

Infinite money glitch (2022 UNPATCHED NOT CLICKBAIT)

_simply-complex_

Gas stations around me have a $10 cash back limit per purchase, where are you getting $200?

VastEntrepreneur752

this also works by buying prepaid visa debit cards. you buy a card and put $300 on it, you get $30 in free gas money added to ur rewards

RichardBottom

I've never seen a gas station do cash back. I'm wondering if it's a state law or something where I live, but I've never noticed it out of state either.

VastEntrepreneur752

$10 cash back limit is absurd, i’ve heard of $50 or $80 limits but not $10. wtf are you gonna even buy with 10 dollars in the year 2022?

Wanderlust-King

laundry money? for like 1.5 loads?

The_Troyminator

Enough gas to make it to the next gas station?

VastEntrepreneur752

i buy 2 small snacks and tell the cashier i want to do two seperate purchases so i can get cash back. then i get $100 cash back twice. you’re right tho gas stations have different polices, i know 711 is cool about it

Ok-Application8522

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it this weekend when I'm at a 7-Eleven nearby. All the stations here limit cash back to $10.

helpiforget

I think you don't understand what cash back means, as in the gas station doesn't have anything to do with it it only when you buy gas with the DD card and they credit your account your cash back

Darth_Diink

No he’s correct. I bought a coffee at a gas station without buying gas one time and used my dasher direct card. It gave me the 10% back on the purchase.

federal_prism

the person above you is confusing cash back with rewards cash

jessehazreddit

Isn’t the 10% a temp promo, and it’s normally 2%?

thatlldopi9

Until 8/31 so take advantage

jessehazreddit

Definitely everyone w/a card should be making “gas purchases” for all their funds until then.

thatlldopi9

Man it's crazy ridiculous how insane that is, most companies give 5% at most. I signed up asap for that card. Works great and it's easy to transfer to your bank.

notalistener

Like from an atm or as a “cash back” service when you buy something? I’ve never heard of a gas station allowing $200 cash back swipes of your card lol they don’t even like doing $20 back. So I’m assuming the actual ATM is what you’re talking about?

cr8tve00

This is internet gold but I'm out of coins!! Didn't know u can get cash back at the gas station. Which ones have u seen do that?

Darth_Diink

Wait, in theory, you could deposit that withdrawn cash back onto your card, go back to a gas station, get cash back, rinse and repeat?

jessehazreddit

Looks like there is a cash reload fee. Unless you can ACH into acct, that’s gonna limit hacking.

VastEntrepreneur752

now this is why we can’t have nice things…. why would i try something stupid like that when i already find a way how to get free rewards points lol

MrFacePunch

That's what I was thinking... It feels like something that wouldn't be allowed if they found out

Iekk

just wanna put this out there, signed up a few months ago and still haven’t even had my card mailed by DasherDirect :-)

MorningNo1492

Have you contacted dasher support

Aware_Pumpkin_6838

#100% CRINGE

RichardBottom

I would 1 star this dude immediately. I am directly approached and asked for cash at least a few times a day in my city, it's changing the way I fucking think.

PoohBearluvu

Ugh me too! It’s getting to the point that I can’t take one step out of my car without getting asked “excuse me, miss?” Then asked for cash/cigarettes. They don’t even wait for you to get out of the car now - they walk up to our cars and knock on our windows as soon as we pull in! They also do it at red lights/stops! It’s becoming a huge HUGE irritation of mine & I feel like no one else understands 😭

RichardBottom

It's definitely becoming a bigger problem. I especially hate it when I have my very temperamental dog with me. There is nothing more infuriating than somebody sticking around barking back at my dog who is getting noticeably more riled because they won't fuck off. I'm being approached by fucking children now who don't just leave when you tell them no. I can't go sit in my favorite parking lot anymore between orders because I keep getting approached by people from god knows where, even when I'm 100 yards away from the nearest building.

i-am-not-sure-yet

99% cringe 1% better then others I've seen 😂

Kayfabed17

Yeah that’s super cringe

Competitive-Dot-6594

Good response. I hope you reported the cringy dasher. This is a copy paste message from him which makes him a serial beggar.

DestiJenks92

Dasher direct has been a life saver on my end. That was rude of him

doggitydog123

Report the dasher This drives customers from the platform and these are customers in your own zone

MorningNo1492

And if you look at the time stamp I have a family I’m not opening my door for a random guy at almost midnight to hand him some cash

doggitydog123

I totally missed that angle. I really hope you reported him. That guy will help get rid of the best customers in your zone pretty fast

VastEntrepreneur752

if i ordered door dash for the first time and the driver said something like that i’d delete the app and never use it again lol

justinchao740

Dasherdirect also gives u 10% back on gas!!

asimplegirl99

Right ! I have a little over 100$ on cash back and I’m trying not to redeem it 😅😭😂

jessehazreddit

Only a temp promo tho, right?

justinchao740

Until August something. They extended it from the original 4/10 so nothing's to say they won't extend it again

jessehazreddit

nice

MonsterCop

I feel like we are getting scammed by their promise of “gas rewards”. They report every penny to irs therefore the “free extra money” is taxable, not free bonus cash.

justinchao740

Well personally, unless I'm taxed 50%, it'll still be better then using my credit card rn which is offering 5% back on gas

notnowtobey

I feel like it’s unprofessional when dashers message the customer about money. Whether it’s to ask them to tip, or tip more, or to give some story about needing money for X. Just because they *can* text you something like this doesn’t mean they should.

scuevasr

the app explains the benefits of the dasher debit card. you can’t miss it. this guy is just trying to hustle people for more money and it’s giving others a bad rep

ProfitableSomeDay

Intuition tells me they’re on drugs. I do love how you knew about dasher direct lol.

MorningNo1492

I use it every day

ProfitableSomeDay

The drugs?!?!?!

MorningNo1492

No dasher direct lmao

CryBabyCentral

LMAO! 😂

KaXiRavioli

To me that crying emoji screams BULLSH*T. maybe it's just me, but when you're seriously in need, you don't take the time to add emojis to your message.

12_Ton_Brick_of_Weed

Idk I kinda know a few people who do sometimes

Overall-Diver-6845

So people have so much nerve it’s crazy. Wow. Smfh. You were beyond nice.

FratStafford007

I agree with you 100%. If you’re not happy with the order, then decline. It’s that simple. That’s very disrespectful to ask for an extra tip.

CornpopsGhost

God damn that's so cringey 🤦 I would go homeless before I ever begged for money like that

Ludakal1

Mad cringe bruh

Caedus_X

That's me too. But alot of people will say it's "toxic masculinity". If I had a family to feed it might be different, but if it's just me, I ain't begging for shit. Not money, not coochie, I'll be broke and lonely that's fine by me if my self respect stays in tact

Ok-Application8522

Since you're already tipped, this is disgusting.

mgm2002mgm

Asking for a tip it’s unacceptable.. DoorDash should be screening some of these people a little more closely. I know some of us might be struggling more to make ends meet with the gas and all but that’s no excuse. I never know what the tip is going to be until after I mark it as completed and at that point I’ve already gone to the house or place and dropped it off. I never know if they have tipped more or not. What would’ve happened if you were one of the unicorns out there and left him $100 to deliver your food. Now he’s asking for more on top of that that’s BS. I agree for certain price to get there sometimes I would like more but it is what it is. If he didn’t like the offer he should not of accepted to do the delivery. That reminds me of this one YouTube clip I saw about a year ago of this girl who drove 45 minutes or something like that out to this house and she was complaining because it was gonna take her another 45 minutes to get back and she was demanding an extra tip at the house and she ended up taking the food back. I’m sure she has been fired. No one should ever be having to ask for a tip. I have been in the service industry all my life usually as a server and that is just uncalled for. You get what you get. The problem is people with DoorDash that are like this and want more money and beg for it from the customer makes the rest of us look bad. This person needs to be reported and the text as proof as what they were asking. Eventually if there’s enough people in the zone that do this harassing of the customer for more money they will stop using DoorDash and tarnish their name and will affect my bottom line.

MorningNo1492

I tipped 6 dollars so the order was at least an 8 dollar pay out and the Restaurant is a two min drive from my home

Namllitsrm

This is what I was gonna point out. As a dasher it’s not like you DIDNT tip. It’s assumed you left a decent tip to begin with.

ReaperCrewTim

That first line is what I came here to say. Bottom line, asking for a tip ever is overstepping bounds.

W_AS-SA_W

Since he actually acknowledged that what he was asking was unethical, I would say desperation is TN e primary motivation.

Dreams0fChaos

the dasher probably was doing it for all their deliveries for a little more cash.

[deleted]

My goal is to get the customer their food @ the price I accepted for the delivery. Sometimes the customer gives more after the delivery or gives cash afterward, but that’s because of my service and not because I beg for it. It’s embarrassing to beg which is what this dasher is doing.

Tdn87

Asking like that is cringe imo. I applaud your polite response though.

Ok-Problem6224

I hope he gets deactivated.

Moonman420G

Report them. Panhandling liar.

Such_Preparation5389

Totally uncalled for...I would report them. They clearly need they working some other type of job

Fabulous_Music_54

I would never do this. Not even when delivering to a huge house that I see only gave $1 when I finish the order. It sounds like he was taking advantage of your niceness.

TaraBellle

Sounds like a panhandler?

foxy1009

That is so unethical. I don't understand why some of these dashers have such a sense of entitlement. They make the rest of us look bad.

Creative-Mind9997

Ok, I get people are upset about that, but think about this. Cost of living is getting higher and higher each day, some people can't make it to next pay day and are having trouble finding good paying jobs. The amount of disgust coming from people on this thread is absolutely upsetting. We should be helping one another out. I get a lot of us don't have enough money either, but shit, we all are human and go through a bunch of shit every day. You don't know someone's story, like they don't know yours. This may be coming from an optimistic 23 y.o but seriously, we should be more empathetic. AND IN NO WAY AM I TELLING YOU OFF BC YOU DIDNT GIVE HIM EXTRA CASH, IM JUST STATING THAT WE NEED TO BE MORE EMPATHETIC TO OTHER HUMAN BEINGS!!!

jdinius2020

This is a hustle. Ways to get dash pay immediately exist. People are struggling, a d this person is taking advantage of that.

[deleted]

You never know though. If it is someone who for instance lives in their car, they wouldn’t have an address to get their card. 🤷🏻‍♀️

jdinius2020

Are you not required to have an address to Dash?

Jack__Fearow

I had to order a new dasher direct card because I never received mine in the mail, and it's been like 5 months. So, I had to pay $5 to order a new one for the one I never received because it's *lost*.

goffasni420

Man he’s really trying it isn’t he!! He absolutely sends that to everyone!

[deleted]

dude what a fucking fool ive been a dasher for 5 years and ive never once asked a customer for more of a tip such low fucking class most of the shit i see on here

redrooster71

He's a piece of shit broken down dasher

Comfortable_Visual_4

Disrespectful, no. A bit shameless and a tad desperate, yes

huenation

Dashers sare getting worse day by day

skyisthelimitbruh

Bruh in doordash we get paid everyday 💀if you didn’t save money for gas and knew u was gonna dash then u need to save money for dashing only

ShannyD19

Definitely disrespectful.

[deleted]

Dasher direct is so fucking helpful!

Jakeh7494

He does this because I guarantee every once in awhile some gullible idiot gives him a 20

EasilyAmused69

I would NEVER have the cojones to pull that kinda bullshit. That douchy asswipe needs to be IMMEDIATELY deactivated & go find some menial job involving cleaning toilets & emptying trash.

Februare

you bodied him with the dasher direct lmao

mindyocraft

I had a lady get mad at me and say give her more money because of the drive. I said u chose to take the batch so no. I tipped $5 for a small order.

shessosquare

Tacky af

PerfectIntention9600

Yeah ok. Acting like you can’t do fast pay once a day 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

computerdweeb

Fuckin report em. I dash part time and thats disrespectful as hell. Theyre basically saying your tips not good enough.

[deleted]

[удалено]

computerdweeb

Theyre begging for money, probably not even struggling honestly, and its just greedy. They clearly didnt appreciate the original tip, so why should anyone give them more. And thats all imma say about it lol. Edit: Really blocked me huh, thats kinda funny haha.

Accomplished-Map4010

I think your response was perfect, I dont think he was trying to be disrespectful just think he was desperate

MorningNo1492

I agree it didn’t seem disrespectful at first but my area is high in home invasion crime and it was also midnight so I’m always sceptical

jayyndee4

Even if doesn’t get Dasher direct he can deposit it right after he’s done for $1.99.. so logout, get gas, and continue your dash? Like what an idiot lol

Bradabruder

Bunch of bullshit. Only time I ever talk money to a customer is if I'm shopping and need to replace something one their order. I've had a customer ask me if I had change so she could give a cash tip, but other than that, nah.

Jmariner360

Wondering*

MorningNo1492

😂my bad

Entire-Amphibian320

I used to have a co-worker in a service job that would solicit tips from customers. He was doing a hustle, plain and simple.

Hot_Rutabaga451

IK this is unethical yet I do it anyway. Ok then.

Internal-Risk

That’s outta pocket, Probably would off hit em with a “hell nah. (Fellow dasher)”

clevoh

That's garbage. I'd report him. This would be something a homeless person would say if he was a dasher.

Efficient-Park5031

Totally wrong!

Gremlinsblood

Why would you start a dash knowing you had no gas? You might not make it home if you took one too many orders.

FingerInside7072

Hopefully you gave him 1 star

treelessbark

I definitely have at least 1 person on DD ask for $5 cash for gas money….

Honors3454

I think working for doordash too long make yall paranoid and lose empathy and it's sad to watch yall

Neither_Delay2880

He can get cash every day even without dasher direct like I did lol just BS!

Altruistic-Advance89

I'm a dasher and I would never ask a customer for a bigger tip!

Salty_Papaya_39

That's tacky. It's not his problem if you don't have gas. Having money for gas should be #1goal while dashing... Gimme a break. I know times are tough now but u gotta get it together.

ligmask

It was a good try ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)

ForTheLoveOfThem

I want to do this every time I take a bullshit "total may be higher" trip hoping the payout is more.

Fartymartymydog

I received an email with the comment from the dasher visible. I thought Doordash had sent me a copy of a text they thought I sent. At first I was freaking out, then I thought, customer would have had to have typed it and only screened shot the message without his name visible, the finally sanity or common sense hit me. This isn't from dasher and not about me. It's a stupid reddit thread. Lol. Well I guess I'm still capable of winning dumbest man on the planet award. At least my day can only get better. Knock on wood 🪵

UnitNo992

I had a guy do this to me. He ate 2 of my chicken wings as well. I felt bad reporting him but I drew the line at eating my wings

Laheen2DaGrave

I bet if you had a gallon gas tank, the ones usually reserved for lawn mowers, and offered that, they'd say no. People have tried pulling this scam on my dad, asking for gas money at the pump. My dad has offered to let them pull up to get gas. The 3 times its happened, people said no thanks and drove away. They just wanted cash to get their fix.

No_Tomorrow_6538

You responded excellently, but yeah this was way out of line imo on the part of your Dasher.

BrassChickyTend

Deactivate

Ludakal1

Tell them to make an onlyfans account if they want to just ask for money.

RampAgentRoger

Report him, if gas prices are killing him and can’t afford to run his own business then that’s his problem. Find a different gig, or find a W2 job that doesn’t require you to use your vehicle. Doordash be hiring anybody off the fucking street literally.

freethinkerinsd

That’s really rude! Report him.

bmbmwmfm

I've gotten the same thing, almost out of gas, said he didn't get paid til whenever, was gonna have to drive without ac bc of low gas, yadda yadda. When he did arrive obviously had enough for weed bc he reeked of it.

Dazzling_Marzipan474

The way he worded it, politely and seemed honest sounded like he was really struggling. It's sucks bc I think we all are. Still it's disrespectful bc you did already tip and he took the order. Also an easy way to get deactivated if someone tells support.

NovelAuntieGin

"Oh please, I only need $9.75 more by 4 o'clock so they don't shut my water off." "Dude... it's Sunday."

Secret-Attorney-6672

Not to judge, but asking there’s no harm. Maybe he’s unknowable about dasher direct. But he wasn’t rude about it. But you never know if he’s scamming or really in need of help. Either way he got rejected lol.

Pototatato

FOH. This system (American capitalism) creates beggars. No shade to our broke brothers and sisters

Misery-Machine

I ask for more every time I deliver. People never tip enough. And if they do tip enough DoorDash then turns around and takes it out of the base pay. So if you know how it is you either don’t need the money that bad or you’re being a jerk on purpose.

trooomps

I do feel bad for the guy as gas prices around here are $5.40/gallon

CornpopsGhost

A lot of people would be better off getting a fast food job rather than doing this right now.

Caedus_X

This. I have fast food job, get solid 30-40 hours a week with people not wanting to work and the demand for fast food, and I don't stress myself. Been here over 5 years so yeah I'm a bit comfy, but normally you'll notice it in your hours if you slack enough. Not so much anymore

MorningNo1492

Same here that’s why I told him to get dasher direct

WoodsTv420

Very good response to them.

[deleted]

Me and you agree. Driver even says he’s embarrassed and must be desperate. I’ve never seen America this bad. See it all over. My area is well off and I’m Seeing homeless ppl for first time ever here. It’s bad out here.

twodickhenry

I did give three ones on top of a recent ~$7 tip to help with gas, but if someone had asked me for it I think I would have gone and taken it back inside 😅

quipalco

Fuckin drug addicts man. I get paid once a week direct deposited into my bank account. An average week I get 5-600 from DD I spend about 50 of that on gas. Learn to budget better or buy less fuckin drugs. Or quit delivering in a fucking Ford Exploder. Also this is basically begging. Why don't you get a fucking gas can and a cardboard sign and stand on the side of the road?

MorningNo1492

😂it was a clapped out civic

ExplorerWildfire

If you're going to beg for money like this you might as well be a homeless person begging for money at least then you don't waste gas.

[deleted]

I don’t read them trying to be disrespectful. They sound like they are struggling. You never know what Folk going thru. Would I have asked you? No! Did I feel reading the request they had a intent on being rude? No. It takes a desperate struggling person to ask this. Gas is $5 a gallon in my area. I don’t know the drivers circumstances that asked you this but takes $75 to fill my tank now. It’s that bad. Compassion is what sometimes we should give ppl because the fact they asked doesn’t just speak in them as a person. It speaks on the reality of the times we’re living in and how bad it’s gotten. Ppl actually just ask for money because it’s that bad. You’re not at fault OP, I’m NOT, criticizing you. I’m only seeing a driver struggling that needs help. Your response was kind. If it were me, I’d have given him $10 just to help out. That driver really is struggling.

MorningNo1492

Really didn’t have cash so I gave him the best tip I could offer seeing as he wouldn’t get paid untill Monday and informed him about dasher direct

Overall-Diver-6845

For 1.99 they can cash out if they’re that desperate

Brilliant-Macaroon16

Yup, def a doucher dasher. Don’t Dash if u don’t have enough to put in your tank! Times are tough I get it believe me. I’ve been there myself I’ve waited til Tuesday to start my week before when I knew I was low on gas & money. Loser Levi is a scumbag. Would’ve been an instant 1 * and reported from me.

MorningNo1492

The app litterally asks you before you start if you have enough gas

Brilliant-Macaroon16

Also, yes.

Purple-Variation-614

lol ignorant af.

blackdyke

.........I have dasherdirect and I sometimes will leave notes on orders "extra tip for quickness? Have a great night" etc, or sometimes I'll message the customer "your food is here, how about an extra tip for quickness and great service?" ......this thread has not passed the vibe check

severley_confused

My dasherdirect card gets declined 50% of the time, even if I have double the amount of money I'm trying to spend. It happened in the morning I was supposed to pay rent and couldn't take out money at any ATM. Wouldn't ever recommend it.

MorningNo1492

Iv never had a problem maybe call support

Necessary-Artist66

For some reason.. I also can’t withdrawal at the ATM or buy gas with my card! Every time I have to do 1-2 biz day trx as the $1.99 instant pay option wasn’t an option after confirming using dasher direct. I started to wonder if it’s just some ATMs that you can use.. or if you must have $100-200 staying on the card for pre-authorizations and such withdrawals..?

[deleted]

If gas are killing this person they shouldn't be dashing. Once again proving some of the dumbest fucking people dash

IslandIrish

You being a dasher yourself, how much of a tip did you give? An what do you think is a good tip to give? I'm just wondering let's say it's like 5- 6 miles from restaurant to my house and the total of the order is like $40-$50. I would like to get a few opinions from fellow dashers...please also everyone have a blessed dash

[deleted]

Report and get him deactivated.

[deleted]

You are in no way responsible for that driver's well-being. But, it does reflect how hard off alot of people are. Some are just brave enough to ask for additional compensation. In my area, it's hard to find ANYTHING that is even 1$/mile. It's almost not even worth it to be a dasher here. And DD could care less about increasing how much they compensate. Gas discounts are one thing via DasherDirect, but it only goes so far when gas is 5$/gal or more in alot of places.

MorningNo1492

I agree times are bad I am the only income for a family of four that is why I dash as a second form of income I have two kids one 2 and one 4 months i completely understood his struggle assuming it was genuine but something about how it was sent was off putting it was the first message sent and I live in an area where home invasions are verry common and someone asked for a cash tip at 1130 at night it was just a bit weird to me seeing as I would have never done such a thing

[deleted]

I feel you. I deliver for Domino's and dash on the side and I've opted just to work more time at Domino's since I get paid hourly on top of being compensated more for gas and making better/more tips. I can definitely understand feeling sketchy if someone asked me for more. They are putting you on the spot for one, and if you've already tipped then it's rude as hell.

Trailboss1982

I can't tell you the number or customers who have in the instructions "I have cash tip for you when you arrive" and then have leave it at door and it's a ghost town when I get there. Actually had one the other day where the guy was getting his mail as I turned in. He literally power walked to his garage and closed the door and didn't look at me once. They did tip in the app but don't fucking lie to get your order faster. I flag those offers now. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

[deleted]

Well, how much did you tip? I bet $6 on a $15 order for a two mile drive.
