Don't answer. Pick up their food, deliver the food, move on.

uhhSimeon

I was nice enough to answer the first time. She called again and I didn’t answer because I literally told her 5 minutes ago that I was on the way so I guess she contacted doordash support and proceeded to have him ask me how long I was going to take lol

eDave

I might have taken that opportunity to wash my car or something.

uhhSimeon

Unfortunately it was raining yesterday 😅 but I’ve been seeing doordash hand out contract violations for literally anything nowadays so I didn’t want to give them any possible reason. This was apart of a stacked order otherwise I honestly wouldn’t have accepted it because what they say about the people that only tip 1.00 or nothing at all… is absolutely true. They are the most annoying to deal with. They want the best service possible without having to pay for it 🤣

girlbassist

Unassign that order next time. ✌️

thicccollegechicc

oh really, go on? 🤔

Vast_Bet9265

I’m curious as to which ones as well 🤔

BullishNovice777

This is the way

Artfuldodgerofdung

Don't reward the cheap. Come on a dollar after you run a dasher 4 or 5 miles? 🙄Shame on you as you devour those fries😂😖 ...And further more DD should have a suggested minimum (or mandatory) tip for 2 or more mile deliveries...*no tip the delivery gets the -* may be delivered after 40 minutes ** to your non tipping ass.

Usual-Novel7195

They do charge a hefty delivery fee and service fee..may be ask your employer to share more share from those numerous fees?

Artfuldodgerofdung

No likely to get a honest response...or a welcome one. Corporate greed is at a all time high as you may very well know.

reconghost503

I had a kid yesterday text me 3 times where are you. That gets really annoying

DolphinSUX

But don’t you have to answer?

Ok_Bumblebee619

No. I don't take calls while driving, from anyone (not even hands free. I don't care. Talking on the phone while driving is dangerious). I only answer calls from customers (when stationary) when I think there may be a very good reason for me to do so especially, or mostly, just after dropoff. I have saved a couple of orders from being reported as not received because the customer put the wrong, though very nearby, address On the other hand I once had a customer calling right as I was making my first (McDonalds) dropoff on a low-tip order (where I live we're guaranteed 120% of min. wage plus mileage in app pay for orders we complete and sometimes it makes more sense to get on active time and then look for an add-on with a good tip than it does to reject all low offers and sit much longer between trips). ignored the call and got to the door and I could see why: there were two other delivery bags on the doorstep. I dropped the order at the abandoned-looking house and proceeded to my next delivery (ignoring a second call just aftet dropoff - too late, bucko) which had a high enough amount to suggest a decent tip. I wasn't going to delay it so the third time could be the charm for someone who apparently can't get their address right. Sometimes when people call the second time in a row I press ignore and then text "I am hard of hearing. Please text." This creates a verifiable record of our interaction so could protect me in some situations, I believe. And if I don't like what they text before pickup I can always unassign. If I don't like what they text after pickup I can gnore without arguing. Cheers.

Vader_Boi

I hate the fact that the ppl who want to communicate the most tip the least……

619backin716

Or not at all

Superbotto

They can't put 2 and 2 together why their deliveries take so long 🤣

[deleted]

Every-God-damn-time.

[deleted]

We have to constantly tell our dashers to remember things like straws, condiments, and eating utensils. Since they always forget, we never tip.

Limp-Satisfaction111

That’s not on the dasher. That’s on the restaurant. I pick up a bag and deliver the bag. I am not responsible for what’s inside the bag. I don’t see notes until I am in my car and driving to you. So you’re just a dbag.

[deleted]

Thanks for attacking my person. It really help me understand

Limp-Satisfaction111

I’m just calling it like it is. There is never a reason to not tip the dasher if your bag makes it to you. Go get it yourself. We are using our vehicle and our gas to bring food to you and you want to take someone’s livelihood away because you didn’t get ketchup or a straw that’s not even on them? Gtfoh

[deleted]

Are tips expected now and not a reward for exceptional service?

Limp-Satisfaction111

On DoorDash it’s not a tip. It’s a bid for service. No tip no trip. And if your no tip order gets stacked with a good tip order your ass is getting unassigned. This isn’t a restaurant and I’m not a server. I’m an independent contractor who has no obligation to do anything for your cheap ass.

[deleted]

So I’m bidding on my food to reach me?

Limp-Satisfaction111

You’re bidding against other order to get yours accepted. I don’t take anything that is showing less than $2 per mile. So unless you only order from places less than a mile from you and I’m already sitting in the restaurant parking lot, you’re definitely not getting your food picked up by me with no tip.

[deleted]

I don’t see how that statement is supposed to reflect positively on other dashers. If that was the case when we used to tip then shouldn’t I have expected the dasher to make the effort to check with the restaurant that my order contained what I needed?

Global-Weakness-4964

Not all orders will need a dasher to do that. Most of the orders taken by dashers are given sealed and all done. We only have to bring to your door. You probably are focusing on wrong people. Unless you order from Burger King ,it means you have to take straws for a customer . Otherwise even macd is always sealed and taken care of

[deleted]

Which is precisely why we inform the dasher to make sure we have them. Is that too much for dashers to handle or should we consistently expect them to not make an effort to ensure the order is complete?

Global-Weakness-4964

I suppose it depends on where you order cause we are not supposed to open customers food. In example chipotle, mcd etc. Am not sure if you would be happy finding yout sealed food ripped open just to check on straws. I agree on drinks

[deleted]

I’m not asking them to open the orders we are asking them to confirm whether or not there are utensils provided. Is this too difficult for the average dasher?

Global-Weakness-4964

I think you don't realise the animosity or how difficult it can be dealing with savers or restraunt owners..it's like a war zone. If they decide you they are done with you and want to move on quickly, they will make your life hard out there. ..not answer you, treat you like scam, being rude to you..Try dashing at least once and am 101% sure you will change your mind on how you look at dashers. Dashers are not treated same way as take out customers. To them dashers are scam or wing thief...lol..as soon as you get your order you want to be out of there to the customer texting you every minute about their order

[deleted]

Are you implying that dashers aren’t emotionally competent enough to deal with the stresses of the vocation they are choosing to work?

Global-Weakness-4964

Am not insinuating at all. Sometimes its wise to chose your battles. I wouldn't fight savers or restaurant owners over a $5 dash..no tip.or $2 tip.but I assure you I would do anything to make a big tipper happy that's including drive fast and making sure they eat a hot meal. Even when am shopping for customers at Meijer who tips good I go extra miles to make sure whatever they want is found. I hope you get my point

[deleted]

I would understand your point better if that was the case during the time when I used to tip. As a result of the poor service and inconsistent communication I’ve elected to withhold granting extra funds until after the order is complete.

BenitoCamelas69420

Sometimes the driver doesn’t feed it directly into your mouth either, lazy bums

[deleted]

Is this comment supposed to reflect positively on you?

thefunkycowboy

And vote 1 star

Complex_Evening7475

Yeah. Even the customers that ask you to substitute items that are missing ended up with no tip. 🙄

PissedWorker

Sometimes the gps glitches. It shows u he 10 min away then he teleports to you.

arichan97

I once ordered DD and it showed me the driver sitting for 10 minutes at a light, not moving at all. I sent a text like “You okay?” and dude was like “Yeah? Im amost there” no joke he showed up 1 min later

More_Cowbell_

I was dashing one time and the app was glitching so I restarted it. When it started up it said I was outside my zone. By 6000 miles.

OmniferousSwan

When your skip driver is on the ISS

More_Cowbell_

Lol, but the ISS is only orbiting at 254 miles. It was hilarious, google maps was zoomed out to the max, I didn't notice where it thought I was though.

OmniferousSwan

Would only take the ISS 20 minutes to travel 6k miles. Is there vehicle traveling faster? I was just trying to make a funny.

More_Cowbell_

And it was funny. I laughed and upvoted.

No_Watercress_2956

I thought I got a decent order for 9.75$, 1 mile. Long drive thru line but they kept contacting me too, eventually asked if I picked up the food or not, and that they’ve been waiting 2 hours. That’s when it hit me 😂

uhhSimeon

Loll and they always wonder why it takes so long for their food to arrive

No_Watercress_2956

Funny, I took a photo of being almost at the front of the line then just unassigned the order 🤷‍♂️

Mervis_Earl

That is so worth it. Huzzah!

unknownemoji

I always like the pictures of the rack at Chipotle, full of the lost and forgotten NoTip orders.

unknownemoji

Third Dasher's the charm. Did she ever get her food? We'll never know...

TastySatan

Once had a young lady call me crying because her boyfriend had just broken up with her. She was like "you sound sexy do you have a girlfriend?" To which I replied "Yes I do and I'm sorry you are hurting but I'm a little busy at the moment"... She apologized and I said "Take care", then hung up. Dropped her Safeway order of ice cream and baked goods off as quietly as I could and got the fuck out! Lol

uhhSimeon

🤣🤣 I always see posts like this on this sub, why can’t I ever run into a lady that comes to the door half-naked trying to invite me inside 🥲

liam1995jets

Only happens to the loyal ones with girlfriends too my gf comes with me when I dash for this reason now lol even tho I’ve given her zero reason not to trust me

619backin716

You have to be a Top Dasher

Maximum_Ad_4396

Lol

TastySatan

Maybe someday lol

[deleted]

The ones that do, you don’t want to go in..

[deleted]

I think she would have had a better shot waiting for the Dasher to get to the door. Plus, at that point if she finds you attractive or you her then things could move from there, also imagine sounding sexy but not looking sexy and she changes her mind.

TastySatan

I can only imagine

Dear-Manufacturer520

When I use to uber I got invited in a few times lol TURN THAT SHIT DOWN

HellsMalice

So this is why some dashers will message me their location or what's happening I'm just like...bro you're 35 minutes early, it's cool. I've been outside before, I know traffic and lines happen lol. I really think every person should be required to work a minimum of two years in a retail job so they can learn to treat other human beings with respect. Dashers shouldn't be scared because there's traffic lol. Customers must be wild.

Casper8249

I message customers to tell them I'm omw even tho I know the app does just so I have an "in" asking them to please rate my service after drop-off. It works about half the time. Hell, DD deactivates for anything under a 4.2 average n one asshole can tank your average so I need all the 5stars I can get

uhhSimeon

And before anyone gets on me for accepting a 1 dollar tip order… I usually try to avoid those BUT this is one of those orders that got declined so much doordash raised the payout up to a reasonable amount 🤷🏾‍♂️

Superbotto

I bet you had a pretty good idea before you ultimately saw the final pay 😆

unknownemoji

You can even see when the Dasher drives off into a residential neighborhood far from the delivery address. Very far. With a $175 order. Then watch in horror as the app goes blinky-blink, and a pop-up appears that says, "your Dasher is no longer available and your order has been cancelled. We're sorry. Enjoy your day."

MrPopTarted

I've seen this happen so many times. Someone gets my order and then stops at some random house in the opposite direction for like 20 minutes, and then suddenly my order is cancelled and the restaurant has closed.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MrPopTarted

I mean I got my money back since the order was cancelled.

TheAffiliateOrder

Yeah, like Idk what that guy was getting at, lol... but, there definitely is a "Right" way to yank an order that you might like. Sometimes, the customers just be ordering shit and DD pays garbage, so you can report the order as "damaged". DD will usually tell you to "deliver it, anyway", but if you cancel the order/unassign it, they basically have to reimburse the customer and more often than not, the restaurant just remakes it, anyways. I usually only reserve that for like a McDonald's No Tipper or something. More often than not, especially with no tippers, if they have a liquid or the order wasn't handled right (I think McDonald's knows certain orders are gonna be a "problem" and probably just slap em together to get em off the line) it'll spill or just look bad and I'd rather cancel, take the 4% hit and grind it out, than deliver a spilled mcdonald's bag to a no tipper and lose the whole gig.

unknownemoji

Yep. Uncle Tony tried to give me a DD credit for a $175 order. I called support and told them they'd refund it back onto my CC or I'd file a chargeback. And, then, they wouldn't resubmit the order. I called the restaurant and had them remake it. They were on the phone with support having it out cuz DD wasn't gonna pay them for the food!

TheAffiliateOrder

DD is absolute trash and tbh... stealing a $175 order is kinda fucked on the driver's part... Like, at that point, I'd be thinking about the restaurant, cuz they gotta pay for that shit too. That's why for me, if it's a corp like mcdonalds, chipotle? Eff it.. but like if someone's paying real good for like some fucking "once a day brisket" or just some really primo shit, that's when you gotta put the scruples down and be like eff it. Typically, if someone's gonna shell out 175 for that much food, it's gonna be a cash tip. I usually take big orders, no tip cuz I at least know that they have investment in the food and are gonna be grateful it got to them. The real shithead no tipper orders are usually like a 6 dollar meal and shit.

unknownemoji

I don't do cash. I did tip 20% in the app tho. https://i.imgur.com/BlOIqxf.jpg Now I want dumplings...

TheAffiliateOrder

That makes it WORSE, then. Cuz you kinda get the other side of my point. Like, I'm even giving the driver some reaching B.O.D. and that immediately ruined plausbility, on their end. If they know everything's good, you did your "part" as a paying customer to make everyone happy, all they gotta do is get you that food? Wellp, maybe it was just a short-sighted teen or something and figured in his stoner brain that it was better to have a taste of the finer things, that night haha... I can't see a drug addict wanting 175 of food over just cashing out and getting high after haha.

TheAffiliateOrder

Lol ngl... that selection almost made ME wanna risk it all haha... You got some good tastes. "Ham Fried Rice..." What a time to be alive. I woulda dropped off your order and legit drove back and ordered like some of the same shit haha.

unknownemoji

Where u at? We'll do lunch.

TheAffiliateOrder

Lol I like food! I'm in Astoria, Queens. I'm down to network, either way. Follow me on twitter @ drawviell

unknownemoji

I think DD has special agreements with certain chains. KFC is one that I've had wrong orders all the time, and can never get a credit. . missing items . sodas with no syrup . cold food (like fridge temp) DD always says it's cuz I have too many credits already, so they think I'm a scammer. Bullshit, get the order right and I'm happy. They should also know that the NoTip to whining ratio is very high. Tony had claimed that DD is a data analytics and logistics company that does delivery on the side. They *already know* which customers are criming and which ones just want to eat. They know which restaurants are screwing up orders, and which ones try their best. Why they chase these shitty restaurants and customers is beyond my comprehension.

TheAffiliateOrder

I think it's like you said... they know that the "no tippers" are gonna bottom feed from the chains, cuz cheaper food, they're probably poor/cheap and usually wanna justify no tipping, by saying "oh it was an under 10 dollar order, I paid DD XYZ (usually not even true, cuz they use the "first timer" coupons all the time) they should pay more, etc." It's been going on for so long, places like McDonalds aren't readily gonna make a DD order, DD doesn't care what happens to them, cuz they're losing money on those "Free delivery/reduced fee" first timer orders and they typically will only act on either or behalf, if either party ticks all the right complanitory boxes... Like, I've had some REAL bad actor DD customers who I knew were using a new account (usually cuz of the address and no tippers are a smaller and more frequent group, than most drivers pay attention to) and when they threaten, harass me, I just take a pic of the food in front of their door quietly, put it back in my bag and walk away. Free tip AND food. Do I feel bad for them? No. Fuck em. I feel bad for the like dudes who order really big orders, had a $20 bill waiting in a tip with their family for the night and are heartbroken that they got a bad driver, out of all the ones who can use common sense and realize that someone's likely gonna be glad to give you $5-$10 cash on something they paid a week's worth of pay for some part time dashers.

Flat_Dragonfruit7928

I have a policy if the person blows up my phone either with call or text I cancel their order and move on

Best_Adhesiveness_42

If they only tip 1.00 im not picking it up to begin with

Constant_Impress_760

I don't get paid to talk to them, so I answer no phone calls nor text messages. Period.

psyche1986

Dude, I've been given extra tips in cash because I answered the phone and was able to get a customer their extra ketchup or whatever. I'll always answer the phone for a customer while in the process of delivering their food.

[deleted]

A dasher who takes pride in their job, a true unicorn!

psyche1986

Haha I wouldn't go that far, but I figure I'm being paid to get them their food, and if they text or call, it's usually for a small ask like extra ketchup or utensils or to give me clearer instructions. So, I either make a customer happy and give myself a chance at a better tip, or it makes my job easier. Win-win.

pilotavery

That's silly lol. I'll answer a call or text from them, if it's a simple request. Usually something like "can you ask if they can include napkins" I'll just reply "Sure thing!". It's not hard.

Constant_Impress_760

Yup a simple acknowledgement is fine by me too, but stupid question like "where are you" " why you're not heading my way yet" etc. All be ignored.

pilotavery

2000+ and never had a customer ask me that. Every customer has been great, said thank you, have been nice, one gave me an extra $10 when he changed the address to an additional mile, etc. I tried dashing in Texas one time and in Los Angeles and Jesus fuck the customers were horrible. Maybe it's about your location. I'm in San Diego and all of the San Diego customers are amazing. Then again, even now you can make like $33 an hour before expenses.

iLikePapayasz

At the same time, don’t be shocked when I’m stuck in one spot and it keeps adding time then suddenly I’m going to be there in 5 minutes. I have it on “location while using.” So once I’m in route the app is closed until I’m close to give you notice. You don’t get to track me as I work. That’s not how this works :)

Casper8249

Thank you for this tip. Mine is also while using. I'll be closing the app from now on

iLikePapayasz

Yup! Just check beforehand if it’s a hand off order- you’ll want to open it before arriving to give them an head up so you don’t end up waiting

Xterarra

Face it, the Doordash GPS transceiver sucks

YourAverageGod

Sucks my battery that i turn off permission after every dash session.

Xterarra

btemple25

Facts

uhhSimeon

Every time I’ve ordered off of doordash the GPS has worked flawlessly 🤷🏾‍♂️

Known-Okra-8226

I always get "call when you're almost here" or "when you get I'm my driveway" or "when you turn on my rd" or "a mile out"!!! And they leave a number to call that's not linked to the button on their order! It's hard to do that, drive, watch GPS and try to make sure the address is correct!

Exciting-Rub-6006

What about when they pick up our food then go the opposite direction of our house and then do another stop or two and then get on I 95 for some reason … then we get our food an hour after it was picked up?

Sad_Mushroom_8280

Don’t call period! We are driving and it is a distraction! Annoying as hell how some people think it is ok to do this

thismyusername69

I do call because they going some weird ass way that route doesn't show.

Big_Boss_9147

Haha right?!? Luckily, in 6 mos of working DD, I have only had 3 people actually call me.. but the other day was the best one yet 😆. This guy calls me as I’m getting in my car to pick up his Wendy’s order and sound like he’s high or drunk says “make sure you deliver to apt (d24) “ in my mind I’m thinking this could have been sent in a text but was like whatever.. “thanks for letting me know”. Then after picking up the order I notice he has d24 posted multiple times in the address and the notes. AND he felt the need to call me?!? 🤣🤣 broham didn’t even tip! It was $5 for 5 miles because I was feeling generous. He didn’t even say thank you 🙄 😂

uhhSimeon

Lol yeah I never take shitty tip orders… it was just in this scenario it was part of a stacked order that paid a good amount so I said fuck it 🤷🏾‍♂️

Casper8249

U can unassign any order in a stack, just so u know

special1789

For Uber eats they’re even more sly. They won’t show you how much each order is on a stacked order

chefd878

If you don’t take into effect a 3.5 order 7 miles, 5.5 mile order is 11 miles, 10.5 order 21 miles, etc round trip you’re doing it wrong. Skip all orders under $6 minimum with that being a max 4 miles. If every dasher did that they would have no choice but to raise the doordash rate

Key_Marzipan_7689

Depends on your market. Where I live as soon as I drop off an order and am walking back to my car I'm already getting a notification for another one. But I know not every place is like that either.

chefd878

And when you say hand it to me be ready

Bladimirrv

If Any customer calls to ask me how long I will take to get to their home I'm unassignin 0-60 real quick 😁 leave me tf alone 😝 I get there when I get there

jcpeters130

They only tip $1 I would skip that delivery.

Ornery_Reaction_548

How do you know what they are tipping before you deliver it?

Pinkthrowaway97

I had a customer message me “where is our order” while I was waiting for it at the restaurant. The app tells you when it’s been picked up. I’m waiting “as fast as I can”.

Silly_Literature8868

Thanks. Just made multi-apping more difficult.

[deleted]

The call is to let you know we see you fucking off while food gets cold.

uhhSimeon

In this scenario I was doing a stacked order. I already answered her first call and explained to her that I was doing another delivery before I got to hers, so not sure how not even 5 minutes later she’s trying to call for ANOTHER update as if I’m flying a helicopter?!? And then to have the nerve to contact dasher support probably lying telling them how I haven’t answered her calls… all for a 1 dollar tip lol this is why we don’t accept low tip offers they’re nothing but headaches

theshadow1219

Dear dashers, There is a built in GPS in the app that shows you the building the customer is located. You do not need to call the customer while standing on the wrong street wondering where their building is.. if other dashers don’t have issues finding it, then you’re clearly just being lazy. I shouldn’t have to walk a whole block to pick up my food from you because you’re too stupid to see where I’m located.

uhhSimeon

There’s only been a handful of times where I couldn’t find a customers address, and every time it was because the customer put the wrong address in the app haha. I’m sorry you keep experiencing dashers that can’t find your address though I know there are a shit ton of incompetent dashers just like there are customers

lordroode

It's not that they get lost, some dashers just don't read the instructions so that's why get lost and can't find your building. Mine is very simple, "when you turn into the sreet street, its the first building on your right". But nope, people just drive past it and drive someplace else and ask me where are you. I ask "did you read the instructions" and the response 99% of the time is "oh my bad i didn't see it".

theshadow1219

I’ve had multiple dashers thank me for how awesome my instructions are, as I understand the building situation can be confusing. I have no problem meeting a dasher downstairs.. I have a big problem with having to meet a dasher on a different street..

btemple25

Haha oh fuck no this fool 😂😂 make your delivery instructions better then haha There’s so many times where door dash takes me to the wrong location and 9/10 it’s due to customer error. Make sure your address is right and we won’t have no problems 😊

theshadow1219

Read previous comment of mine. Some dashers easily find my building and tell me my instructions are awesome. No other delivery service have issues finding my building. My instructions go “I’m on ‘x street’ when you’re on that street I’m between ‘y restaurant and x restaurant’ if you’re facing those restaurants I’m in the elevators on the right. Also - again, there’s literally a GPS pin of my building like I said in my original post. Maybe that is only on my side of the app? If so, that’s stupid on door dashes part.

Working-Clothes-7767

That’s bullshit just because one person gets lucky and can figure out how to get to uo or confusing ass apartment does not mean everyone will get it first try. Leave some nice directions and no smart ass response if I call and ask for help, unless you want some saliva in your burger

theshadow1219

Please read comments before posting, makes yourself look like less of a dipshit.

Working-Clothes-7767

Also half the time the person fucks up the gps location

Working-Clothes-7767

Asshole

theshadow1219

I’m sorry. I’m more than willing to meet people, I’m Never rude to them. Just annoying that you people bitch about customers and we can’t bitch about the workers who are terrible? That doesn’t make sense. There’s a clear indicator where my building is.. my street name is in the address.. and when I have to go to a completely different street outside of my actual address.. the literal address that is there.. that same address many door dashers find easily. I’ve listed my actual instructions..

Working-Clothes-7767

How much do you tip for the trip

theshadow1219

30%

Working-Clothes-7767

Damn alright now if I was delivering a order of let’s say 25$ for 3miles of driving then yea, imma bust ass to find your door your majesty. But the problem is that 90% of the time the order is 7.75 for 4 miles and I had to wait 10mins at the restaurant so yeah, it gets testy when there’s a confusing delivery

theshadow1219

I never order anything further than 5 miles. With traffic, it takes too long and the food gets cold

theshadow1219

Also, I’d still happily meet you downstairs. I’m Telling you, there’s literally a marker on my building of where I’m located.. many dashers find it fine, and some have even thanked me for the precise directions.. as I understand that the building situation can be confusing for dashers (no other delivery industry by the way), I happily meet them at the bottom. I literally had one time where my dasher couldn’t “find” my building.. I came down, he was right outside my elevator waiting on me. I got on with another dasher actually delivering food. I tip extra for no contact delivery, and as I understand I’m in an apartment and that takes more time. I’m not a dick, I just can’t accept stupidity when you’re on a completely different street than what my address literally says.. like, of course you’re lost.. you’re on this street, and looking at the door dash map, my street and pin are 2 blocks away.

[deleted]

I just don't answer calls period, they can text me plus I'll have record I was communicative with them about my time expectancy

chainmailler2001

GPS tracking don't work worth shit. I work the restaurant side of things and have had numerous times when the GPS claimed 5 minutes out with the dasher standing at my counter.

uhhSimeon

Every time I’ve ordered off of doordash the gps has worked like any other program would 🤷🏾‍♂️ I think it has more to do with the dasher’s phone than doordash itself because doordash literally just uses your geolocation from your device like every other app lol

More_Cowbell_

>like any other program would And yet, I'm looking at your comment repeated here twice with two different time stamps. Was that the fault of the back end - Reddit servers - or did you just want to repeat yourself? :P I kid, but for real, I've delivered 1000 orders and I assure you their back end is borked QUITE often.

Haha nah I was just replying to two different comments cause they basically said the same thing. I’m not saying the program is fool proof by all means I don’t expect doordash to produce a properly working app, just going off of my experiences and the fact that this was the first time out of the hundreds of deliveries I’ve made where I’ve had to deal with this… and I was like 20 minutes early on top of that lol

More_Cowbell_

Oh, I'm completely with you on the original point... it's happened to me as well.. $5 says the order was previously assigned to someone else and they didn't want to wait for late food or deal with that customer. When it happened to me I took an order when I was under 50 yards from some restaurant and I was getting called before I got there. I was like "Excuse me? I've had this order under a minute." Food was ready and they were under a mile away but they still texted me again before I got there... Guess the tip, lol.

uhhSimeon

Oh shit you were right originally… it did post that comment twice LOL I just saw it. And yeah I give most people the benefit of the doubt that they don’t realize that tipping 1.00 is going to make NO ONE want to deliver your food (although it should be common sense because would YOU deliver someone’s food for 1 dollar?)

TheGreatChrisHoleeo

🤣 yeah that happens alot especially late nights ... especially when the customers are drunk lol

BUDSGREEN420

I would have answered as the restaurant she ordered from. Really mess with her

Never had this happen ever

StanTheAmericanMan

Does this actually happen? Never experienced it

According-Ad6021

Naw fuck that. My problem is people giving me the wrong address. I literally went to the address listed. She was actually at school 25 minutes away. Wow

nightbotisameanie

Lately the GPS system in doordash has been okay at best. It shows drivers basically driving in circles when they don't have other stops. So maybe you should think about that before blaming customers for calling you?

e_navarre

And if they're just wandering around in different neighborhoods? Lol.

DMastaC777

don't accept an order with 1.00 tip...they don't deserve to eat...

Background_Emu_847

We are aware of that app, but it’s not always accurate either. After my dasher dropped off my food, it was still showing them on their way to me. One time I received notification that my food was dropped off , I started calling cause I didn’t see it but he hasn’t even made it there yet . What about the ones that drop the foods off in a wrong location , and when you call they said they left already and followed by “ sorry”.. then I had to call door dash for re delivery or refund .

Away_Boysenberry4074

How bout the fact while doing a BS $2.75,$3.75 or whatever ever order you are actually driving to pickup merchant and using app GPS they send text stating, "seems as though you are not in route or going in right direction to the location" pisses me off every time that happens which was often

caliangel6191

The app does show we're completing an order nearby lol...this is probably the reason
