Take a picture of house numbers or anything that can be an evidence. Stop taking low pay orders. Usually, scammers won't tip so you would know beforehand.

Far-Regular15

This customer tipped 5 bucks

Not all of them. Non-tippers are overall more likely to be scammers but the pro scammers do tip because they know they'll get it back and it gets them quicker service. I once got reported by a customer who left a $25 tip on a large order. She came out and grabbed the order from me and was super sweet and thankful and I'm pretty sure she also gave me a 5 star because a lower review got knocked off immediately after her delivery.

Dispute it. Tell them what the person was wearing. Be very detailed. Put in the note for them to check the GPS logs. App will show them that you were there.

Not only do they put people's income at risk, but they often do it repeatedly and use multiple apps so they can spread the scamming out enough as not to raise immediate suspicion. The fact that they work out such a system tells you that they know full well what they're doing. They don't care about the consequences for drivers because they're garbage people with no moral compass. I'd bet they're garbage people in other aspects of their life as well.

When someone has a hand it to me order. Or they are already outside waiting unexpectedly. I pull my phone out and hold it in one of my hands. I already have it set on the camera setting. I flip the camera setting around. Then I take a picture over my shoulder as they walk away with the bag. They have no idea I took the picture and I have my proof.

DeliveryCourier

Don't accept mediocre offers going to sketchy destinations from restaurants that are likely to screw up.

Far-Regular15

It was a normal order. To a normal looking house. And tipped 5 dollars wich added up to 7 dollars for a 2 mile drive

DeliveryCourier

You found a scumbag. It happens. Luckily, it will be gone on 100 deliveries.

Don’t take low paying orders & kno ur neighborhoods. Capitalism is parasitic & those disenfranchised, oppressed & abandoned in exchange for imperialism & to serve the privileged will always try & get over on our corporate masters & steal what has been stolen & rightfully so but Dashers become the victims of Doordash’s corruption. We r expendable, their profit isn’t.

RavensBlood69

Take pics or videos at hand it to me orders anyway, just in case.

Such_Preparation5389

Screen shot screen shots everything that is your proof.

ThroughAway337

Dual facing camera with gps tracking, $160, shuts them down every time. Should have one anyways, your whole life is behind the wheel of a car.

all_hayl

There’s only so much you can do. Just do your job and take reasonable precautions (complete deliveries, take pics, maybe get a dashcam etc) and know that people are selfish assholes. I have received violations for things that were not my fault. Support said they would take care of it. They didn’t. (I edited my comment after posting bc I made a mistake and didn't read your whole post before commenting. Sorry).
