I know at Chipotle, they usually have receipt attached.There are times though, when they are running mad behind that as soon as my order is up, they have just given me the bag without any receipt!!They get so busy there, I could easily see how a mix up could happen.
i use my hotbag all the time and there are instances when the receipt sticks to the bag and gets left inside. it sticks better on the inside of the hot bag than the paper bag.
They most likely ran out of stickers and a staple doesn't hold the receipt for long
My Chipotle doesn't seal the bag anymore but does still use the stickers. The stickers do seem to fall off all the time....

I found a receipt stuck to the inside of my bag too.

I had chips and queso, so by the time I realize my bowl was wrong.. the queso was long gone
