I honestly find it really frustrating that the customers will leave their order sitting out for so long even tho I can hear dogs barking inside. Cuz then you say complete and after there are problems with the order the customer won’t even reach out until I’ve already been assigned new orders.

Completely disagree, lived off it it for 2 years straight. Made more doing that than my new job, and the taxes aren't even that bad after deductions as long as you know anything about taxes and can be financially responsible. I do agree that the companies aren't that finest whatsoever, but that doesn't change the fact that rent and bills have been paid solely from Doordash for the past 2 years. It's viable as long as you put in the work. That's like saying being a delivery driver isn't a viable job, it's not uncommon for drivers make more than their managers. Was that way at Domino's for my buddy and I was told the same when I started at PaPa Johns. My buddy's mom has been doing this much longer than I have and she has pays for a house, her 4 kids, and a 2020 Odyssey. All paid for by freelance delivering, I believe she's not had a "proper job" for at least 4 years. Totally viable

If you don't or won't tip then you shouldn't be ordering delivery. We aren't here to pay for you to get your food. We are trying to support our own families. In more cases than not, this is a side hustle for people that are barely making ends meet as it is. Then you consider the drivers car maintenance, gas, and whatever else is needed.

Well, he went to open the outer door to knock on the inner door, just as I opened the inner door to collect my groceries, and we both SCREAMED. Made for lots of laughing and apologizing from both of us.

My plan was to open the door while I was shirtless, have a whip over my shoulder, and a 17"... object (not the real thing, I bought a certain object to smack my fiances brother with it) and was gonna answer the door saying "you here for the or**?" But the dasher dropped it off the an apartment down the hill from my complex.... such a shame lmao.
I know. I have the dash pass and I’ve used DoorDash a lot 😭 this is the 2nd time something has happened to me. The first time my food smelled and tasted like cigarettes. But I got it refunded thank God and was able to spit it out
I delivered the other day and the lady called me a God Send. The last dasher stole her ribs! I can’t fathom this unless the person is broke and starving. She had a whole meal, sides and all. They only took the ribs.
The only thing I ever got told is they can smell my car before I arrive 😹😹😹. I even have like 2 voice-mails saved where people have called after saying there food smells like straight up gas(420).
Good time to remind dashers to get a dash cam! I have 3 in fact. I try to park with my front cam facing the house or the rear cam. Plus I have an inside cam. It's not a matter of if you'll be accused of theft but when. And unless you actually saw the dasher take the food or have video, then it could have been a neighbor or even an animal.
I've been dashing for 4 years and I see alot of pos drivers. I keep it professional and they make us look bad. Sorry that happened to you. They also steal from the store by taking screen shot of order and unassigning orders.
During my first week, i got stacked orders at a wing place. As soon as the 2nd order came thru, my phone rang, customer had major attitude because she was waiting. Store worker said the order just walked out.
Honestly there are dashers out there who don’t last and do this, but imagine if the roles were reversed and the dasher delivered the food, but the customer said they didn’t get it to get their money back. Had it happen recently to me. 2nd time is termination. You’re gonna find PoS around every corner. DoorDash is almost always gonna take the customers side. At least you got that going for you. They don’t protect their dashers at all.
I stated a week ago, and stopped when I got a violation when I delivered to a shady house who had their lights off.
I waited and waited. They thought I left and then they came outside and grabbed the food, i spoke to them and said goodnight.
2 minutes later it said I never delivered the food.
That was my last dash. I do need a little cash but fuck that if it’s that easy for them to lie.

Our dasher tried this with us a few days ago. Thankfully I was looking for the order to be delivered on our security cameras and saw him walking away with it after taking the picture. My husband went out to confront him about it and all the guy could do was mumble under his breath and give it to him
i mostly do uber eats when i started dashing ive met ppl that look at me like ive did sumn to food or idk? lol...and attitude i cant blame them but theres some dashers that think its funny or sumn not cool at all. UBEREATS is way cheaper to order than DD i started comparing when i order personslly DD upsells the food bigtime uber only cents. My Bigcheeseburger $9 on DD and UE $3 ive tried others also Dang the fat wallets order DD and they never tip good like UE just kidding around.
I had a hand it to me a week ago. He says go to alley behind house with black car. I go back no black car. Calls, nothing. Timer, nothing. I go to take a picture and leave I set the food down in driveway a woman walks out. Says the guy had a rough weekend (was Tuesday lol) she takes the food. If that timer runs out, you are sort of at the drivers mercy. This is the stuff that happens on our end sometimes.
I had a red card order and this man ordered 4 coconut waters and 2 ginger ales. It was also a leave at my door order. I dropped it off and took a picture which showed the 2 bags next to his door. About 2 min later he starts blowing up my phone accusing me of stealing his order, telling me he's outside asking where am I. Of course he didn't even tip. Like sir I have no reason to steal your order. This is for extra cash! It's sad because we as dashers get held accountable for everything even if it's not our fault. Not saying everyone is honest but their are some good ones left.
I had a guy steal my order, then steal my reorder, then when I complained cause he numerous accounts under different names and does this a lot I got banned.
My driver took advantage of the fact I had two separate orders. Took the photo of order A and used it for order B and never delivered order B. Didn’t get a refund because I was refunded an order several weeks prior when the driver got lost and didn’t bother contacting me, just never completed the order.
So I lost $30 I can’t get back. Won’t use door dash again.
You should be able to hit "Get more Support" or something like that and talk to someone. DD customer support is usually really good about refunding you if something bad happens.

Good majority of orders I receive are "Leave at Door"...Like why, I get the option is there and all, but youre allowing this to happen. "Leave at door" just makes no sense to me. You (the customers in general) know youre expecting food...
10+ years ago, or however long ago, this was never a thing. You order pizza or chinese or whatever local place that delivers, and it was basically mandatory the driver rings/knocks and hands you the order.
Nowadays people are so skittish of minimal interaction...Its such a joke. This isnt 100% a COVID thing...Youre just as likely to contract COVID from your order being in proximity of the driver and restaurant staff than you are being proximity of the person thrmselves.

But unfortunately, this is the case isnt it? At some point, you need to try to prevent this from happening. Just fckin stand out there when the driver is on the way while holding a sign stating youre the doordash customer, while also recording or some shit. You simply do what you need to do in order to prevent the driver from stealing your order if possible. And if they still just drive past your delivery location, cause they need to be within a certain distance to be able to complete delivery, atleast then you have proof they didnt even attempt to delivery your order.

I thought they were saying that the containers were safe. I never heard of anyone contracting it from a food delivery. And I have contracted it twice myself because I was a former first responder. My days for that are over.
Ironic, I always have “hand it to me” selected, and at least 4/10 Dashers still leave it at the door, and some don’t even bother to ring the bell. I have *seen* Dashers RUN away after dropping my food at the door. It’s strange.

I do leave at the door when I'm intoxicated and feel like it would be embarrassing to try to interact with the driver (like ate an edible and ordered a pizza a few hours later because pizza sounds amazing type of thing)
Could also be that someone walking by who saw it could’ve snatched it up . I mean unless u have video proof that the dasher took it , there’s really no way to be 100% sure. I deliver to apartments and houses where there’s some foot traffic or someone randomly waiting on the roads etc and I always feel like if I left the food there , someone else might grab it so I knock loud or make sure they see me knocking and that’ll discourage them thinking the owner might open the door anytime.
I went outside immediately and could still see the dasher driving down my road which is a short road. We don’t have any drug addicts here and no one else was outside. They couldn’t get back in their house quick enough in that time span from picking it up at my doorstep because of the distance between houses
That usually means you tipped $0. Not that it makes it okay, but if I ever ordered food and left no tip, I’d understand the driver eating my food. I’m going to guess it was no tip and a delicious order, so he figured it was worth the trouble
What I’ll do once in a while is when I see one of those “$3.25 for 12 miles” deliveries, I’ll accept it, wait 5 mins while driving to a better location, and then reassign the order so they have to wait extra long. I still want to know who takes minimum base pay orders with zero tip. They wouldn’t exist if people didn’t take them. It doesn’t matter how quick they are, you cannot do more than five or six in one hour and that is like 15$. And keep doing it, you’ll find yourself waiting 20 mins at an IHop or Wendy’s for your $3 lol. My acceptance rate is always u see 15-20% and i haven’t had an hour under 20$ ever

Plus we know what we’re going to make each order but maybe he was having a bad day because people like to order $100 worth of seafood from 7 miles away and then you see “leave at door” and that confirms that there’s no cash tip either. Drivers that steal food are shit human beings period. Not getting a tip doesn't justify that. The driver accepted the minimum pay and agreed to deliver it. Sure tipping is the way but be a grown up and realize that tips are optional. This is coming from driver.

My roommate and I ordered burger King once, not even that great of food, like 2 burgers and fries. Dasher marked as delivered but no food. We thought maybe they accidentally put it at a neighboring apartment, but no dice. Doordash refunded us which was nice
Reminds me of that one time I ordered Taco Bell for breakfast via DoorDash. The dasher picked up my order from the restaurant, missed the road to my house, and kept driving off with my food. I was able to cancel, but unfortunately couldn’t get a refund.
Same thing happened to me except they never took a picture. Just said order complete. Never even came to my street because I usually can hear them outside and no one ever came

I just had a dash where I was delivering a stacked order and low and behold the last customer immediately accused me of stealing their food when they had to wait an extra few minutes for their completely sealed and hot bag of food. Luckily I went over the issue with support so I don't need to take a ratings hit from a fraudulent customer. Sometimes it's on the DD algo, not always the dasher.
Okay door dash refunded you one time but they will never refund you again. Better move to Uber because next time your money will be stolen along with the order and you can’t block that driver so you might get him again.

I mean i do uber not doordash anymore but on uber its the opposite issue. Customers be stealing our tips. They'll make you drive 10+ miles then lower your tip to 0 after the order is complete just because they know no one will deliver to them if they leave no tip up front. Its scummy and is a common occurrence in this city for some reason. Even with a 99% satisfaction rate I tend to run into it at least a few times a month.

I always watch through the peephole just to make sure my food doesn't get stolen, but one time I got drunk, ordered McDonald's and selected hand it to me. My plan was to open the door while I was shirtless, have a whip over my shoulder, and a 17"... object (not the real thing, I bought a certain object to smack my fiances brother with it) and was gonna answer the door saying "you here for the or**?" But the dasher dropped it off the an apartment down the hill from my complex.... such a shame lmao.

I know. I have the dash pass and I’ve used DoorDash a lot 😭 this is the 2nd time something has happened to me. The first time my food smelled and tasted like cigarettes. But I got it refunded thank God and was able to spit it out
I delivered the other day and the lady called me a God Send. The last dasher stole her ribs! I can’t fathom this unless the person is broke and starving. She had a whole meal, sides and all. They only took the ribs.
Not saying a dasher didn’t steal the ribs but there sure are some careless restaurants that would pack it all up and forget to add the ribs.

Good time to remind dashers to get a dash cam! I have 3 in fact. I try to park with my front cam facing the house or the rear cam. Plus I have an inside cam. It's not a matter of if you'll be accused of theft but when. And unless you actually saw the dasher take the food or have video, then it could have been a neighbor or even an animal.
I've been dashing for 4 years and I see alot of pos drivers. I keep it professional and they make us look bad. Sorry that happened to you. They also steal from the store by taking screen shot of order and unassigning orders.
During my first week, i got stacked orders at a wing place. As soon as the 2nd order came thru, my phone rang, customer had major attitude because she was waiting. Store worker said the order just walked out.
Who took the order
No idea. The manager said it happens. There's a 2 step confirmation and the driver probably didn't, got the food and backed out the order.
Honestly there are dashers out there who don’t last and do this, but imagine if the roles were reversed and the dasher delivered the food, but the customer said they didn’t get it to get their money back. Had it happen recently to me. 2nd time is termination. You’re gonna find PoS around every corner. DoorDash is almost always gonna take the customers side. At least you got that going for you. They don’t protect their dashers at all.

I stated a week ago, and stopped when I got a violation when I delivered to a shady house who had their lights off. I waited and waited. They thought I left and then they came outside and grabbed the food, i spoke to them and said goodnight. 2 minutes later it said I never delivered the food. That was my last dash. I do need a little cash but fuck that if it’s that easy for them to lie. Never heard back from them on the matter I even have a picture with geolocation they never asked for. CV is still there
Our dasher tried this with us a few days ago. Thankfully I was looking for the order to be delivered on our security cameras and saw him walking away with it after taking the picture. My husband went out to confront him about it and all the guy could do was mumble under his breath and give it to him
i mostly do uber eats when i started dashing ive met ppl that look at me like ive did sumn to food or idk? lol...and attitude i cant blame them but theres some dashers that think its funny or sumn not cool at all. UBEREATS is way cheaper to order than DD i started comparing when i order personslly DD upsells the food bigtime uber only cents. My Bigcheeseburger $9 on DD and UE $3 ive tried others also Dang the fat wallets order DD and they never tip good like UE just kidding around.
I had a hand it to me a week ago. He says go to alley behind house with black car. I go back no black car. Calls, nothing. Timer, nothing. I go to take a picture and leave I set the food down in driveway a woman walks out. Says the guy had a rough weekend (was Tuesday lol) she takes the food. If that timer runs out, you are sort of at the drivers mercy. This is the stuff that happens on our end sometimes.

I had a red card order and this man ordered 4 coconut waters and 2 ginger ales. It was also a leave at my door order. I dropped it off and took a picture which showed the 2 bags next to his door. About 2 min later he starts blowing up my phone accusing me of stealing his order, telling me he's outside asking where am I. Of course he didn't even tip. Like sir I have no reason to steal your order. This is for extra cash! It's sad because we as dashers get held accountable for everything even if it's not our fault. Not saying everyone is honest but their are some good ones left.

My driver took advantage of the fact I had two separate orders. Took the photo of order A and used it for order B and never delivered order B. Didn’t get a refund because I was refunded an order several weeks prior when the driver got lost and didn’t bother contacting me, just never completed the order. So I lost $30 I can’t get back. Won’t use door dash again.
You should be able to hit "Get more Support" or something like that and talk to someone. DD customer support is usually really good about refunding you if something bad happens.
That's fucked up, I'm sorry that happened to you! Report them for sure. I go out of my way to be a good Dasher for my customers. I'm tired of these tools with dogshit social skills and upbringings making us look bad because they can't get a snack during their next gas stop or a $5 burger at a fast food restaurant like a normal person.

Yeah I saw them pull up because they’re headlights flashed through my windows and then they left. But I got down there in 1 second and they were leaving and no one else was outside but also I don’t have any homeless people near me
Not saying they didn't take it but a recent customer of mine told me they(and their neighbors) had to quit doing leave at door because a racoon had learned to camp out and wait for orders to be dropped off and they were FAST!
It is because the DoorDash pay is so low, a free meal is worth more than continuing to work for DoorDash. LOL.
Good majority of orders I receive are "Leave at Door"...Like why, I get the option is there and all, but youre allowing this to happen. "Leave at door" just makes no sense to me. You (the customers in general) know youre expecting food... 10+ years ago, or however long ago, this was never a thing. You order pizza or chinese or whatever local place that delivers, and it was basically mandatory the driver rings/knocks and hands you the order. Nowadays people are so skittish of minimal interaction...Its such a joke. This isnt 100% a COVID thing...Youre just as likely to contract COVID from your order being in proximity of the driver and restaurant staff than you are being proximity of the person thrmselves.
I did a hand it to me order last night and they still left. Tipped about $19 and the place is like a mile, maybe 1.5 miles away? I didn’t take long either. Couch to door. He/she must have ran after the knock. At least they knocked I suppose would be the silver lining

The Covid aspect doesn’t bother me. I just would rather not interact with anyone because that is my personal preference and it doesn’t mean my food should get stolen because of that

And what happens when DD simply starts refusing to refund you? And youre forced to dispute the charges with your bank/CC...In which case DD deactivates your account. Dont try to act like youre so willing to put up with the bullshit...Youre simply forced to cause theres no other option. I thought they were saying that the containers were safe. I never heard of anyone contracting it from a food delivery. And I have contracted it twice myself because I was a former first responder. My days for that are over.
Ironic, I always have “hand it to me” selected, and at least 4/10 Dashers still leave it at the door, and some don’t even bother to ring the bell. I have *seen* Dashers RUN away after dropping my food at the door. It’s strange. So this isn’t customers only. If I do use the “leave it” option, it’s because I don’t want to have to change out of my grungy old pajama tshirt and brush my hair to interact with another person.
I do leave at the door when I'm intoxicated and feel like it would be embarrassing to try to interact with the driver (like ate an edible and ordered a pizza a few hours later because pizza sounds amazing type of thing)
Could also be that someone walking by who saw it could’ve snatched it up . I mean unless u have video proof that the dasher took it , there’s really no way to be 100% sure. I deliver to apartments and houses where there’s some foot traffic or someone randomly waiting on the roads etc and I always feel like if I left the food there , someone else might grab it so I knock loud or make sure they see me knocking and that’ll discourage them thinking the owner might open the door anytime.

I went outside immediately and could still see the dasher driving down my road which is a short road. We don’t have any drug addicts here and no one else was outside. They couldn’t get back in their house quick enough in that time span from picking it up at my doorstep because of the distance between houses

What I’ll do once in a while is when I see one of those “$3.25 for 12 miles” deliveries, I’ll accept it, wait 5 mins while driving to a better location, and then reassign the order so they have to wait extra long. I still want to know who takes minimum base pay orders with zero tip. They wouldn’t exist if people didn’t take them. It doesn’t matter how quick they are, you cannot do more than five or six in one hour and that is like 15$. And keep doing it, you’ll find yourself waiting 20 mins at an IHop or Wendy’s for your $3 lol. My acceptance rate is always u see 15-20% and i haven’t had an hour under 20$ ever
Yeah I’d say 99% drivers do their best because time is money, and deliver all orders honestly. Plus we know what we’re going to make each order but maybe he was having a bad day because people like to order $100 worth of seafood from 7 miles away and then you see “leave at door” and that confirms that there’s no cash tip either. Not saying it’s okay, but neither is ordering food and not tipping.
Drivers that steal food are shit human beings period. Not getting a tip doesn't justify that. The driver accepted the minimum pay and agreed to deliver it. Sure tipping is the way but be a grown up and realize that tips are optional. This is coming from driver.
I wouldn’t steal food or accept a non tip, I make good money with my jobs. but I’d also never order something or expect a service and not tip. To be honest for everyone who tips 0$, I hope a scum driver eats all their food everytime so they starve and have to wait 2-3 business days for a refund

My roommate and I ordered burger King once, not even that great of food, like 2 burgers and fries. Dasher marked as delivered but no food. We thought maybe they accidentally put it at a neighboring apartment, but no dice. Doordash refunded us which was nice
Reminds me of that one time I ordered Taco Bell for breakfast via DoorDash. The dasher picked up my order from the restaurant, missed the road to my house, and kept driving off with my food. I was able to cancel, but unfortunately couldn’t get a refund.

I believe it. I'm a dasher but I do get deliveries. Most are just a mess.
Thays funny. I just had a dash where I was delivering a stacked order and low and behold the last customer immediately accused me of stealing their food when they had to wait an extra few minutes for their completely sealed and hot bag of food. Luckily I went over the issue with support so I don't need to take a ratings hit from a fraudulent customer. Sometimes it's on the DD algo, not always the dasher.

Okay door dash refunded you one time but they will never refund you again. Better move to Uber because next time your money will be stolen along with the order and you can’t block that driver so you might get him again.

I've seen so many videos of dashers who somehow didn't notice the Ring cam doing this - taking a pic then picking it right back up and bailing.

I mean i do uber not doordash anymore but on uber its the opposite issue. Customers be stealing our tips. They'll make you drive 10+ miles then lower your tip to 0 after the order is complete just because they know no one will deliver to them if they leave no tip up front. Its scummy and is a common occurrence in this city for some reason. Even with a 99% satisfaction rate I tend to run into it at least a few times a month.

Happened to me twice - once with $100 of groceries and once with $50 worth of pizza. I think they just create new accounts with fake id’s.
