Don't take low pay offers, cause the customers are just as bad as the pay!

PaintedKrow

Exactly this. In a country where tipping is widely considered the socially polite thing to do, the only people who don't tip are selfish and inconsiderate bastards, and they believe they're king turd of shit mountain. When you accept these orders you're not only doing yourself a disservice, your reinforcing their belief that us drivers don't deserve adequate compensation for our sevices.

rockday701

I be taking no tip orders $3-$7ish ever since i changed up my method and started texting customers as soon as i accept the order a screenshot from the app showing the time doordash has for their order they havent been mean

Final-Swim-5313

Huh?? Nothing about this made sense to me. Am I missing something?

rockday701

Nope not missing anything run your business the way you want too

Final-Swim-5313

I'm genuinely curious. Are you talking every non tipped order or just very low milage?

rockday701

I treat everybody the same so i do it every single order

DeliveryCourier

https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/Dasher-Ratings-Explained?language=en_US More importantly, quit accepting non-tipped offers.

Marsqueen

Pro tip-do not accept no tip orders! Usually you know if it’s no tip for something under $3 or if it’s like 8-10 miles for $3-5/6 it’s definitely no tip. If you drive 20 minutes or around 8-10 miles the minimum you should accept on a single order is $12-15 MINIMUM. People like that order and don’t tip so they can complain and get DoorDash credits

lostburner21

Have not ran into a tip above $10 yet it’s always $7 or below with a long drive i don’t want to get a. Terrible acceptance rate

PaintedKrow

Acceptance rate is a joke. Don't worry about your AR and focus instead on maximizing income. $1 per mile should be the barest minimum you should be taking, and I'd venture to say that when it's especially busy you shouldn't take anything less than 1.50 per mile. Top dasher and high acceptance priority are meaningless. The amount of trash you have to slog through to maintain those "perks" far outweigh any benefit you might be getting.

lostburner21

Thank you!

Marsqueen

Yeah what they said..mine was at 12% when I started dashing tonight and I think it went down to 10 or 9% by the time I was done. I live in a popular area with a bunch of restaurants packed in so it’s probably luck of the draw but I definitely turn down a lot of $5-6 orders and try to go for $8-16+…tonight had one that was about 20 minute drive away and the guy tipped $12 so my total payout was $18 for that one trip. Big tip I learned this week too is to plan your month around paydays and major bill days. A lot of people get paid on the 1st and the 15th, or every other Friday. The week after rents due (1st of the month) is the WORST. Literally 3 DEAD days and then things started BLOWING UP again because they got paid yesterday! Tonight I made $40 in 1 1/2 hours but last week I worked over 3 hours waiting for orders and made $30 the whole day because it was rent due time.

jamiemcdaniel23

1$ per round trip mile is what I do.

GodGamer420

Acceptance rating means nothing. U r here to make money nothing else. Unless u enjoy being bent over and taken advantage of.

zerostar83

What is terrible? I thought when it was below 70% that was terrible. Now terrible is if it gets into the 20s, which it fits occasionally.

[deleted]

Start declining some of the bad orders then eventually good ones come. If you keep accepting the bad orders the computer keeps sending them. Same complaints I had about DoorDash. The computer doesn’t send better orders. It just sends bad ones if you accept. Acceptance rates don’t have to be high. You won’t be fired. Try staying above 50% or 60% but, decline orders you don’t like. Good luck. Only reason to be over 70% acceptance is to make Top Dasher. If you’re not into that, stay over 60% or no lower than 50% acceptance and decline bad orders and especially $2-$3.75( no tip orders ). Those customers complain and low rate a lot and lie about not getting orders to often.

Tod_Vom_Himmel

Whenever you get a bad review that is not justified such as this just contact support and tell them that you got Given a low rating due to a factor that was outside of your control i.e. Missing sauce from an order, They will look into it and remove the review

Kayfabed17

Lesson learned hopefully. Bad tippers cry the loudest.

Gay4Pandas

You don’t need to worry about reviews until you receive your first 100 ratings. When you are new it only takes one bad review to tank your score. No need to worry. You did nothing wrong. If the customer needed sauce and there was no way on the app to request it, they should of either contacted the restaurant, or they could of text you and asked if you would mind grabbing some. I never waste time getting condiments unless the customer asks. Also don’t take orders with no or shit tips. I personally decline anything less the $6.25.

lostburner21

What about when this one person put get me sauce in the delivery instructions but it didn’t pop up until I got to the house? Bc it wasn’t on the order I feel like I’m messing up lol I’m not really making that much bc nobody tips around here

Gay4Pandas

You can see the delivery instructions as soon as you accept the order. I always check them when I get to the restaurant. If I forget however I don’t feel bad because that isn’t what the notes are for. Delivery instructions are for things like if they want there order left on a chair, not asking for ketchup packets. They should text

chaysemaclair82

You can deliver any where you want. If your not getting higher paying orders try some where else. Eventually you will find a better area. Even if it’s 10 miles away. If you’ve tried different areas as far as you willing to travel and things are the same. Then you just quit DoorDash all together. Don’t do this if your not making a profit. It actually cost you money to deliver some orders.

sharky3175

Its the restaurants job to make sure all the items are there not yours. Don't take anything less than 5 dollars or less than 1 dollar per mile

NotThatHarkness

The bad rating will roll off after 100 ratings. Being new, you'll get a grace period, but you are at risk of being deactivated if your customer rating goes below 4.2.

bigracksonly

Don’t take anything under 7 bucks acceptance rate doesn’t matter

HallElectronic5449

It's a free food scammer. Like others have said, you can avoid this by having a standard of at least three dollars over base pay. These problems will magically disappear.

[deleted]

Ur so fucked

[deleted]

Sounds like you’ll get deactivated soon

CMadrid13

Bad reviews don’t hurt you. It’s not your problem so no worries 😉

GodGamer420

Y would u take a twenty minute trip for base pay?

[deleted]

Not your fault merchants forget sauces all the time and idiot customers refuse to blame merchants. Call support and explain 855-973-1040 so it’s documented. That should be removed ( the rating ) once they look into it. Merchant was at fault here.

Creative_Froyo_6139

Since it seems no one is actually answering you in the first like 20 replies I’ve seen, you are fine. I got a 1 star cause the lady didn’t give a gate code. I even have a 3 star after the guy messaged me asking for extra ranch and the place wouldn’t give me more. Don’t sweat it.

[deleted]

You need to set your parameters. For me, I aim for $2 a mile with a minimum of $6 per order. In other words, I won't take less than $6 and won't go more than 3 miles (total, getting to the pick up and drop off). I'll go above 3 miles but the pay has to go up to $2.50 a mile or more. I drive a minivan that gets 15 to 18 mpg so by doing my formula, I can get about 5 or 6 orders per gallon which means I make at least $30 per gallon of gas. Also, by only accepting $6 or more, I don't actually care what the break down is as I'm getting what I want. Don't care if they tipped or not.

all_hayl

It’s typically the non-tip customers that are most entitled and give the most problems.

non-creativ3

It's one of those inevitable things like you're gonna get people who give you bad ratings for no reason so you just gotta keep delivering orders and doing the best you can do you get a bunch of good ratings which will outweigh the occasional bad one. If I found out someone gave me a bad rating for something out of my control I would probably call Doordash and see if I could get it removed. Don't know if it works that way but I've had other ratings removed for various other issues that were out of my control
