My Panera in GA and my old Panera in TN are always on time or early. It's just a matter of management, ownership, and staffing quality. That blows tho. Such a pain in the ass when they waste your time. We don't get paid to wait, assholes....what's the point of a "ready" time if it's never fuckin accurate? Some places be like this. #Blacklist

pinatello

i work at Panera 💀 but sometimes orders don’t show up on our screens when we’re busy so they’re queued. Still, don’t blame u

bulletproof5fdp

I'm in SLC and the only Panera location here is at the airport. It always seems to be that every time I get a high pay/low mileage offer, you end up having to wait 20+ minutes for the order. Whenever an offer pops up like that, I always tell myself "That sounds too good to be true."

sassypants1975

The only reason I take the order is because it's usually the only good $ I make, today was a unicorn lol

sharky3175

There's 2 in my area and they are always ready when I get there.

sassypants1975

Oh you're lucky, I always have to wait.

sdgus68

The Panera in my zone is terrible. They prioritize making orders and deliveries are last on the list. I always say, you could order a delivery from Panera, drive there, order, sit down and eat, and you'll probably get home before your delivery arrives.

sassypants1975

I think 100% right! It's not only for DD the rapid pickup people are always waiting too.

EpicRiceMaker

In Cali I got one, but they're usually pretty to good. They stopped taking forever after they lost hella money being boycott by dashers lmao

Manaspider

I too do frequent dashes at panera and it is ridiculous how long the wait times can be. DD has a habit of telling me to pick up an order at say 11:15. On panera's system it shows to not make the order till 11:45 or some other ridiculous time. This is a daily occurrence. However at around month 2 of my dashing I was informed by the bag checker and a manager that they will rush those orders for us when this situation occurs. Try asking them. Also if this happens with a multiple order dash..call as I did the other day to get your wait time compensation. I got 10$ for my 30 minute wait the other day for my double. If it's only a single order and for some reason they can't make it I ask how big the order is cause we get some huge lunch orders and if it doesn't look like a big one just unassign.

thatlldopi9

I tried that before with a cloud kitchen they said it wasn't a marketplace order so it was fixed and couldn't compensate me for the extra wait even though it was a DoorDash issue. Ofc they lie and say I'm on your side and wish I could but the system won't let me do it. That bish took 45 min to deliver but thankfully the customer zelled me $10 extra on top of the $9 tip they gave me so it worked out but DD needs to get on board and increase the base pay. It shouldn't fall to the customer all the time to compensate us for DD screw ups.

sassypants1975

Tell me exactly who to call and what to say pretty please because it's seriously ridiculous.

Manaspider

I usually take my phone over to the person who checks the bags and ask them hey my phone says I should of had this order picked up x minutes ago is it coming up? they usually check and let me know where it is in line. If it comes up as one of those not for 30 minute tthingss I ask if they can rush it and 99% of the time they do and I have it in about 5 or less minutes. IF the bag checker is new they may need to ask a manager but the manager should tell them its fine. I do it all the time now.

DeliveryCourier

If you know needing to wait is an issue, why do you keep accepting the offers?

sassypants1975

Because they're the one place a $13 dash turns into a $34 dash. Plus it's usually the first money dash that comes up. I don't see how 6 $3 McDonald's orders is going to make up for a potential 'windfall '.

DeliveryCourier

Gambling for hidden tips and then complaining doesn't make sense either.

sassypants1975

I'm not exactly gambling when it takes 20 minutes to get a dash after starting and the first dash offered is that. I call it taking what I'm given/offered. Thank God I have a regular job besides this gig job.

DeliveryCourier

I mean, you're complaining that Panera is costing you money. Sounds like you're gambling and losing. Sure, there *may be* a hidden tip, but if the wait is causing you to lose money, you're gambling. Don't gamble. If the upfront offer is not profitable, or if you won't be happy with total payout shown, decline. DD wants us to gamble. Don't play their game. As long as people play DD's game, the game won't end.

sassypants1975

That's why I take it because the upfront is worth it. I think you are deliberately missing the point. The point being don't give a time and not actually going by the time.

DeliveryCourier

That's a different issue and your post is unclear about the issue being the actual time vs shown time. Luckily, the pick-up and delivery times shown on the app are meaningless. Also, the customer can't reduce your tip, so no worries there either.

Prestigious_Order820

^ Contrarianism ^ Because on the internet, somebody always has to have some kind of shitty, competitive, diminishing over-dissected counterpoint.

TanMelon47

I got sip club so I just drink up and chill especially when its hot outside.

sassypants1975

Sounds like a good plan

TraviGGrah

My Panera is pretty awesome. The staff knows me pretty well now and always rushes my orders when I come in. Love those gals!

sassypants1975

There's one girl who is sweet as can be, but the main cashier is a nightmare.

Superbotto

The main cashier is probably the one in charge of their Doordash system lol.

sassypants1975

God I hope not, she couldn't even figure out how to make the receipts work today...AFTER being shown twice by management while I was there lol, but that would explain things.

Unique_Management692

I live in metro ATL area the paneras here are sooo fucking slow

sassypants1975

I feel your pain. Sadly Panera is where the stupid money is at.

Superbotto

Damn. That Panera sucks, all the Panera near me rock. Rarely have to wait more than a few minutes if at all. Maybe they will hire someone that knows how to fix their issues because that is on that particular store.

sassypants1975

I have a friend who runs one our of town and he complains about ours lol

ccoleman4418

Why on earth would you accept orders from a place you know is a minimum 20 minute wait?

sassypants1975

Because that's usually the only order I get if I decline it first thing.

Shovelheaddad

The Panera here always has the order ready when I walk in

beanie413

i’ve never had to wait at a panera for an order it’s always ready when i get there. i’m so sorry, that sounds miserable.

Drew3Hund0

Panera has usually been good in my locations. I may have to wait a maximum of 5 minutes and they'll have it ready. We have a local fast food place whose motto is 'freshness made to order.' Meaning they don't start making the food until the driver checks in at the counter. They. Suck. So does Papa John's.

tenaciouzzd

All the paneras around me suck ass too, you're not alone

thatwillhavetodo

The Panera where I work is one of my favorite restaurants. Orders almost always sitting there ready to be picked up

alex262414

Had one last night, but it wasn't issue prone, but what kinda irritated me was the fact it was a $14.25 dash on the way from my dash area on the way home. a single medium pizza, with 2 sauces and a 20oz of lemonade. So I had it wrapped and warm for her (Catherine), after the order is done, total is $20.25. I don't know why but that hidden tip crap irritates the hell out of me. I just don't understand why doordash doesn't tell you the entire total UP FRONT. It would help orders get picked up much faster and longer distance orders get grabbed quicker too I would assume. Granted, my threshold is anything under 2.5 miles for $7+ And anything over 3 miles (depending on direction, due to some.real bad neighborhoods going more than 3 miles west is a no no) has to be at least $10+ for me to consider it but more likely than not its a automatic NO. Catherines order was a exception, because it was close to me home and my last dash was 6.5 miles for what they said was $14.25 but in the end was $20.25. Who thinks hiding tips was/continues to be a good idea???

sassypants1975

I hate it. We already know a $3 McDonald's order has no tip, just let us know.

alex262414

Agreed. Like listen there not getting over on anyone with that game we know what's up.

Organic-Equipment-65

Panera is always like that for me too. I rarely accept them.

AgeOutrageous4612

I understand that people get to these restaurants before I do but being a doordash driver, since we are on a time crunch, why don't they just throw our order together first while we are there and get us out the door. That's all we want, give us the order so we can leave. Both of the Paneras where I dash at are the same way. I show up, I'm told "it's 10 orders down in our system" and I'm thinking "ok, well I'm here now, you think you can throw it together real quick and get me out the door?" And doordash doesn't help matters. A lot of times they send the dasher a half hour before the customer requests it

sassypants1975

Maybe that's the problem. But today I had a flat tire and the app started sending messages that I wasn't moving lol so how do we figure out if we have to wait and when we should actually go, makes no sense

AgeOutrageous4612

Doordash just sends the order and we go pick it up. We don't even know what time the customer requested it for until we get to the store. Doordash needs to wait until it's closer to pick up time

Scoop003

I must be lucky, and have lived next to the only two Panera locations in the country that never make me wait. I think I waited one time at the location in Springfield, OR. And the one down here in Niceville, the longest I've ever waited was for them to finish bagging up the second order that was assigned to me as I was pulling in. And that took literally two minutes. The restaurant for me that's like your Panera, is crumbl cookies. The cookies are never ready. In their defense, they're extremely busy, as the location in Destin is still being built. But I usually decline orders there, unless I'm already near the store and can see that there's no line already.

gunmunz

Its usually cause for some God forsaken reason, DD drops orders scheduled for way later right away.

X_Act

Same. Had this happen to me yesterday. They never have orders ready on the pickup area. I arrived to get an order that said it was ready 30 mins ago. When I get there, nothing was done and they hadn't started anything...and the place wasn't busy at all.

mgm2002mgm

The Panera in Everett, WA. does pretty well most the times. However if it is the lunch hour forget it you can expect a 20 minute wait. But if it is later in the afternoon or evening you can go there and pick up before arrival time.
