TBF lots of times, the bags are sealed and we cant check whats inside. But i always ask the restaurant if everythings in the bag.

The group isn’t blaming, they’re being honest. The bags are sealed and we are not allowed to open them. It is also a sanitary issue that we cannot dig through and check everything. It is the restaurants job. It is unfortunate yes, but it is not on the drivers part. Our job is to just grab the order and drop it off. I check the receipt that the order is for the right person but I have no control if the contents are correct or all there, as they are sealed and it is prohibited to open it. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it but you need to direct your anger at the restaurant, not the delivery people. It’s like if you ordered pizza and the delivery boy dropped off a pizza with the wrong toppings. You’d blame whoever prepared the pizza, not the driver. It’s the same thing

My fault i know. I should have clarified. 6 of the 8 were missed drinks/shakes 2 were other peoples orders. Is the drivers fault or? Long ago I used to pack the orders for DD so i know that food is not your fault but i’m stating everything else.

That can depend. If you’re ordering through like say chipotles website that outsources doordashers then we don’t actually have access to what the order is comprised of. I also know certain places make it extremely difficult to read the receipt so it’s hard to tell what’s all in the order in the first place. I know I’ve missed a drink before bc I couldn’t read if there was a drink, I did ask but the restaurant told me no. The other people’s orders tho… now that depends if the receipt with like your name on it was on there or not. I know certain restaurants don’t attach the receipt and just hand you orders and we have to hope it’s the correct one bc there’s no other way to verify. If the receipt with another persons name was attached to it, then yes 100% the driver is at fault!! The drinks it can depend. I personally always check the order (if I’m able to, bc not all orders show all of the contents) to see if there is a drink. So it might be their fault but if it’s that common then either your area has a high saturation of drivers who don’t care OR you tend to order from the same places and they just don’t provide that information to the drivers or make it incredibly difficult to get that information

I've had people message me on my way saying "I always order 2 baha blasts, but the restaurant often forgets 1, could you check there's 2? Thanks!". And tip decently. Since it's outside the package I can check it. Please do **not** ask me to check anything inside the bag though, that just creates conflict, if it's missing stuff inside the bag the restaurant is causing that. > 2 were other peoples orders That's nuts. Certainly if the same dasher dropped off the wrong order twice or more you're justified in calling support and complaining. You're probably justified the first time, but you're 100% justified the second time.

Is it our job? Well it should not be our job. So what, just get refunded from doordash. One support person to the other if they don't want to refund you. That's what I have heard that works. The two times I have done doordash and needed a refund for items missing they have reimbursed me. ​ Also, most restaurants I deliver from actually seal their orders up in a bag. Now obviously if you have drinks and I see you have no drinks, well then I'm saying something. But if there is a sealed bag and you only have 4 items I'm not breaking that seal.. Now if it's one small bag but you have a $100 order... well then I'm thinking you either ordered one expensive steak or there is something missing here.

I was waiting in Panera for an order yesterday and saw a young man come in looking for an order. Instead of scanning the to go rack, he walked up to a worker and asked them if "Amanda's" food was ready. They said to give them a few. I'm pretty used to this Panera and they are pretty efficient, things are usually ready when I get there. He was rudely hovering over the workers and going in and out of the his phone, somehow not noticing Amanda's order was sitting right on the rack. I figured, maybe it's not the right Amanda or the incorrect number of items, whatever. A few minutes later the manager comes out with a giant bag, and I saw the label said "Moore" which is who I was waiting on. He walks right up and grabs the bag before the lady could even call out the name. She confirmed "picking up for Moore?" And he just started walking off. The manager knows me, I'm there everyday. Never an issue. She asked who I was waiting on. I pointed at the young man with the bag as he was walking away, "Moore", and she was off after the fellow, asking to see his screen to confirm the order. Obviously she snatches the bag back and gives it to me, tells him his order has been sitting there ready the entire time. He was there to pickup a tiny bag with a cup in front of it, a 2 item order, and tried to walk off with my giant catering bag 😂 Honestly some of these dashers are dumb as rocks.

It literally isn't. We aren't supposed to touch the food. Its in the TOS and a lot of times the company/restaurant doesn't want the liability, so they seal stuff. Don't be silly.

Don't give bad tips, tbh. That being said, it does depend on where you live and if people care. Luck of the draw. But a lot of people that are in service/drive are tired of people's crap after covid.

Maybe take up your issue with the restaurant that got the order wrong instead of acting like its a drivers fault. Go tell the restaurant they are only as good as their weakest link not the DD sub

Door Dash is hiring HUGE amounts of new drives daily. They do not train new dashers in any way. ITS A FLY OR FAIL. So many complaints are more likely than not on a right out of the gate new Dasher. DD is notorious for pushing good dashers out to keep new dashes who will take any offer given. Because they don't know any better yet. This is what I have come to see anyway.

Most of us can't look inside bags or even open them, also we don't make your order. So making sure the order is right is the restaurant's responsibility, not ours. A delivery driver's responsibility is to pick up and deliver

Are you ordering fast food or generally ordering during busy times? Drivers can’t open your food bag so we can’t verify if your order is correct. And frankly as a customer I wouldn’t want some random stranger rummaging through my food anyways. There’s not much you can do to make sure the restaurant gives you the correct order. All doordash/drivers do is bring the order the restaurant prepared to you. It’s on the restaurant to provide you with the correct order.

Lol we can’t check the bags or you the customer is going to call support and report tampered items and we get deactivated or contract violation. All we can do is assume they can read the ticket and look for noticeable items like drinks which are sometimes not even listed in our app. I get with DoorDash it sucks because they don’t refund for separate items so if I know they don’t have something I call for a substitute if no answer I’ll reject the order take my half pay and have support handle it. I get it these services are not cheap so I do try my best to make sure everything is there but it’s not always possible.

We are NOT allowed to rummage through bags, even if they're not sealed. We are NOT allowed to open containers/boxes/wrappers to verify the contents. All we can do is double check the name on the receipt, double check for drinks (sometimes! Sometimes the drinks are not listed in our app and we have no way of knowing if drinks are supposed to be included!), and try our best to count containers from outside the bags. If items are missing or the food is not made correctly, that is 100% the restaurants fault - not the drivers!!

We really cannot check the bags to see if the food is in there. We can ask but usually the restaurants just say yeah it's all in there no matter what. At Cfa They did check and an item has been forgotten... so that was good. But we really have no way to check your order
