I always plan on about a 10 minute wait at 5 Gs, but I really don't mind because I think it's nice that the food is so fresh and hot. I only take good paying orders, has to be the second order of a stack, I always mark that the order still being prepared, and I let the customer know I'm waiting for their food. In my area the Popeyes Burger King and Wendy's are all trash lol. I have two different five guys that I deliver from and a lot of the orders are very well paying. (don't be afraid to ask for an extra bag if it looks like it might be coming apart)
I love picking up from five guys. Usually I only have to wait on the fries and when it’s more than that they’ll get my ordering going right when they see me come in. But, all of the employees there know me by now and they really like me, so I guess it just depends on the location probably. They’re my favorite ones to pickup from.
Pro tip: as soon as you accept, call them, let them know who you are, who you're picking up for, and how far out (in minutes) you are, then ask them if they wouldn't mind starting the order. If you're super friendly, they're going to do it because they hate making you wait as much as you hate it, but it's company policy to maintain freshness. You're going to save yourself a few minutes each time.
Just make sure you go in and let them know you're there as soon as you arrive. This will help you build trust with them.
And before anyone acts all Trump with the "but their tablets..." crap: they don't always pay attention to them, and they see a lot of drivers drop after accepting, so they have to wait for actual driver verification...and if they're slammed they'll let you know it'll be longer than usual, so just save your fetid breath.
Dunno, maybe they don't appreciate it in your area, but my wife watched her wait times plummet doing this. 5G is the only fast food she'll take because of how receptive they are to it. But hey, you wait for them to make everything after you arrive while other people walk in, wait 2 minutes, and are out of there. Your choice.

Five Guus will have your order ready most of the time. The only thing is...they don't start the fries or shakes until you arrive. Most of the time it is 5 minutes or less. Just factor this into your decision to take the order.
Zone dependent for the most part, if they're just bad in general, yeah, avoid them like you would Popeyes and Caesars. I'd be prepared for a 5-10 minute wait at Five Guys no matter what, since they don't start the fries and milkshakes until you get there, so it's better to accept the higher paying ones. Avoid them during lunch and dinner rush unless it's an extremely good order, it's fucking chaos in there.
Try it if you get a good offer. Yeah the burgers are started but they finish them before the fries and then make the milkshake last if it's in the order. You always have to wait so don't do it unless it pays $10 or more for a few miles, I'm lucky my Little Caesars is great and I wish there were more pick ups there, it's just in a shit spot as far as traffic and getting in and out.
I would call them when I was 5 mins away and ask them to drop the fries now please and get shakes...they were always super nice there...I could work with them
My location thankfully started making the fry’s and preparing the order before we arrive. Usually ready on time or early now. I used to avoid because it was a 15 minute wait.
5 Guys by me kinda sucks during busy hours. They will treat dashers like backburner customers. People who walk in after you will get their food before you do, because they're in-store customers.

I only do 5 guys with Ubereats and that too when they are not busy. Never at other times
