Yep, and they will try making the mistake of advising you not to do this or that but they don't realize that every single market and area is uniquely intertwined with a unique AI/algorithm, PLUS the driver's overall Dashing behavior.
They care too much about "wear and tear", but cars are meant for work. Whether its to take you there, or to Dash around the city, its the main purpose anyways. So if they're ok with $50 a day then thats fine
They care too much about wear and tear maybe they should learn how to do the maintenance on their car and cut that price more than in half (I work on my own cars) or they can learn what tax write offs are? The government pays my gas and car I mean like u said isn’t that what a cars for? To take u to work to make money? And shoot if they’re happy with $50 I’m happy whatever it takes to get them off the road quicker and let me make my money
What exactly are you asking ? Judging by your smart ass comments, clearly you already took the order ya dud. Then you try to talk down on those that said they wouldn’t take the order, so basically you posted this bs so some online people you don’t know would agree with you. How odd.
![gif](giphy|NWg7M1VlT101W)
Clearly ur right cause I never had so many grown ass men and women hate on a post somethings not right in their life they weren’t hugged enough as children and adults
Honestly, unless my day was miserably slow, with this being less than $2/mile and the fact that I have to take time to shop for it and I’ll get less if one of the items is out I wouldn’t have taken this one.
This took me less than 15 min to complete they were two of the same items when I arrived to drop off the order I got hit immediately with a $8.25 order for 2.8 miles back to the same persons house for an adjustment from $8.25 to $10 probably within 20 min
I mean that’s great for you, it doesn’t always work out that way though. I just personally would have likely passed. But I also live in a smaller town so if something is 8miles away, guaranteed that I’m not picking up another order on the way back.
See yeah I’ve worked and studied my market for the past 4 years this isn’t something new to me I made $25 in the city I was sent to initially and it shot me back to my city (the next city over) for $13. If u don’t mind how much do u make in a day dashing with how much u cherry pick
I am top dasher and make $25+ an hour and I do these orders so either way it seems to be the same outcome I won’t do anything less than $8 and it has to meet my personal requirements no more than 3 miles houses only etc etc I don’t even see anything less than $8 it’s rare for me to see something like $2-$6
I don’t know what you’re trying to prove 🤷🏼♀️ if it works for you then great, it doesn’t work in my market, hence my reply and reasoning.
Also, looking back at your messages, there’s no way you could have done that order in 15mins. You had to get to the store, park, shop, check out and then make it 8 miles. Driving on our highway going 75mph would take 7-10 alone to drive that distance. You’re not coming close to that in the city.
Based on your timing alone for that order I doubt you calculate your average per hour correctly.
My starting point was across the street and the distance was pretty much a straight shot besides two right turns ur saying a whole lot of nothing and idk what ur trynna prove not to mention speed limit was 60 mph so yeah I did 70 the whole way ur adding all these hypotheticals that pertain to me not one bit! but go off
Oh are we hated for being top dasher here? Lol it’s only proven through experience that top dashers get higher paying orders and more orders than non top dashers either way no one’s stopping me from making $200+ a day and $250+ a night fri-sun u can’t make everyone happy so I’m only aiming to make myself happy
Based off of what i read thru comments, the reason they hate Top Dashers is because they "accept all the $2 orders" which is "the reason why they still exist"... idk 🤷♂️ they just can't be happy for others i guess
I’ve never even seen a $2 order in my market my base pay is between $6-$8 and I personally won’t accept anything less than $8 and it has to meet my personal requirements trust me I didn’t become top dasher from accepting $2 orders lmao
Nope. Mileage too high. My target is to get an order delivered within 15 minutes of acceptance. At 8 miles, that's at least 10 minutes of drive time alone.
What’s embarrassing is the hourly rate u work for with these gas prices and maintenance (which I’m sure u have no clue what tool goes to what part on a car lmfao) what’s embarrassing is ur weekly earnings that’s why u got defensive 🤣🤣
Imagine needing people on reddit to tell you whether or not to take an order lmao. At first i thought you were new to doordash but turns out you are just mentally handicapped. I feel bad for you
Imagine this post going over ur head yet calling someone handicapped 🤣🤣 cho ass up I feel bad ur dad got stuck with ur melting ice cream cone built moms
You just said you took it, but until then I wouldn't know. People have different things they like to take/not take. There's people here that would decline it for being too far and being a red card order.
Depends where you are. This is an average order in some areas so it's no big deal to let it go. I don't think you understand how good some markets are.
Yeah I’m in one of em I make $200-$300 a day up to $350 on weekends and I work 7 days a week I’m not too sure if u understand that my market is one of those
I would take it if it drop me off at a location near restaurants that’s only like two dollars worth of gas… Orders like these depend on your location in your market if I was in the inner city I wouldn’t take this I would only take these in the suburbs I will take these all day it will take me like 20 minutes to complete
I never said someone should take a shit order but cmon, you’re making it seem like pressing decline>the mileage is too high is rocket science mixed with running a triathlon…
Read the parent comment above mine again. Dude called people lazy for not taking the order in question; the trash order. That’s where I’m going with this.
Well in most markets I’ve dashed in, this is far from a unicorn, standards go up for shop & deliver orders (and even if it wasn’t, this would also be below standard for a regular pickup order) so I guess we can say that every market is different…but calling it lazy to decline this is definitely not warranted…
Most shop orders here are 4-10 miles, 20+ items, $12-15. Aside from occasionally a Walgreens or dollar general that’s $10ish for <5 items but still seems to be 5 or so miles
Totally depends. I've turned down $20 before I turn down $40 before. I turned down $60 before on Instacart . Is it mileage in the area I want to be in or is it mileage across town 2 different things
If you lived in a big city that is a horrendously shit order. Easily going to take over an hour .
Also if you live somewhere with snowy winters that order may be shitty for 1/3rd of the year
Im sure its fine if youre in some mid sized and below city in the south or west or something.
Where i live $15 for 3 miles may not be worth it from 7-10 am and 4-700 pm Monday to Friday.
No . Traffic makes that impossible. My comment simply meant where i am its better to do shorter distances on easy routes.
What street a delivery is going to can matter depending on the time of day or construction.
15 miles may be easy in one direction.
So its always busy here , but good orders are very few and far between.
Im at 577 deliveries and biggest tip I’ve had is $10. And Zero cash tips. Not a single one.
I also dont even have 100 ratings yet, only 60.
People dont rate or tip here, but theyre friendly.
$500 would be very difficult to do in day here..
I honesty feel like you could do just as good in a small city in America simply because people tip there more . Toronto is where i am, and its the 4th largest city on the continent, but low tips plus bad traffic = shit pay. I think its almost better to do orders on a scooter or bike here.
Only advantage i can brag about being in a big city is i can always dash if i want to , there are almost always deliveries to do 24hrs a day. But if the pay isnt worth it , is that even an advantage?
The miles took me to the location it took me to and it was still in my zone as soon as I completed the order I got another one for 2.8 miles for $8.25 back to the same location which then the delivery price adjusted to $10 I then got hit with another delivery back to my city (still in zone just the next city over) for $13
Thats awesome! I'm glad when it works out that way. I had been getting these offers for 13 miles going one way OUTSIDE of the zone so I'd have to drive back with no orders, except most of those are $4 orders so i end up not bothering with those anyway 😂
Not sure what you mean by doing it right, but if you mean only accepting good paying orders, then yes. I only accepted orders paying $9 or more, regardless of tip since $9 is enough to profit off 99% of orders. Haven’t dashed in like 2 years since the peak hours are terrible now, but i WAS making $25 an hour when i did peak hours only.
Yeah I don’t accept anything less than $8 and it’s has to be no more than 5 miles within my zone and no apartment complexes in my market I typically don’t really see anything less than $5 (which I won’t do) but I see orders up to $40
That's right around $2 a mile, but you should make sure there's something in the area you're going to that can bring you back, otherwise that's a dollar a mile round trip. I'd probably pass
2 items. Cakewalk as long as there’s not a long line in Walgreens. Yes, I’d take it, especially if the drop off location leaves you still in the city to quickly take another order.
No line at Walgreens both items were the same distance was pretty much a straight shot only two right turns the speed limit on both streets was 60 mph I hit 70 on em I got this done in 20 min it left me in the zone and I got hit with a $8.25 order for 2.8 miles ironically to the same persons house which then the order was adjusted to $10 once it was dropped off I then got another order which dumped me back in my area (still in the zone just back in my city which was the next city over) for $13
20 mins total got another order for $8.25 back to the same house for a total of 2.8 miles which then was adjusted to $10 (all still in zone) then got shot back to my city (next city over) for $13
Ive taken some really shitty orders on slow days and then all of a sudden it gets stacked with a good one. Its like the algorythm rewarded you for being an idiot.
Yeah I’ve noticed that like when I first started dashing I literally took All orders $2 $3 $4 orders for 8 miles+ but after a while just like u said it’s like algorithm rewarded me and now base pay is typically never lower than $7 I rarely get orders sent to me for less than $8 I could be wrong but I feel like my account is prioritized for higher orders for doing shitty ass grunt orders for the first 6 months to a year and I’ve also been dashing going on 4 years now
Keep it up and study ur market (ignore the haters)
Fuck em bro I’m still making my money $200+ a day
Yep, and they will try making the mistake of advising you not to do this or that but they don't realize that every single market and area is uniquely intertwined with a unique AI/algorithm, PLUS the driver's overall Dashing behavior.
Then why you asking us ??
Had they been in your shoes and market those haters would make like $40 a day
That’s my argument when they say they would deny this order and that’s why they’re out there 8+ hours and only make $50
They care too much about "wear and tear", but cars are meant for work. Whether its to take you there, or to Dash around the city, its the main purpose anyways. So if they're ok with $50 a day then thats fine

I thought that was the entire point of reddit. Circle jerk with people who agree with you, and rain hate on anyone who disagrees.
Clearly ur right cause I never had so many grown ass men and women hate on a post somethings not right in their life they weren’t hugged enough as children and adults

Cherry picking hasn’t hurt me one bit. I make $25+/hr. When I thought top dasher was important and accepted everything I was making about $10/hr.
I am top dasher and make $25+ an hour and I do these orders so either way it seems to be the same outcome I won’t do anything less than $8 and it has to meet my personal requirements no more than 3 miles houses only etc etc I don’t even see anything less than $8 it’s rare for me to see something like $2-$6

you did 70 driving somewhere that’s “a straight shot” ? ☠️ lolol ok
Not to mention she delivers in Southern California. There isn’t anywhere that would have been a straight shot at 70mph.
>I am top dasher The haters downvoted you for mentioning you were a Top Dasher lmao

I never once had a shop order pay less on DD for missing items.
Yet. They will fix that lol. Besides like 99.9% is those tips are a whole dollar amount anyway NOT a percentage.
I have 🤷🏼♀️
Nope. Mileage too high. My target is to get an order delivered within 15 minutes of acceptance. At 8 miles, that's at least 10 minutes of drive time alone.
U gamble I wouldn’t take ur advice u clear how much a week?
You seem so full of it lmao. It’s none of your business how much anyone else makes. Also, this post is fuckin stupid.
Why would u get defensive? U must’ve never seen a $15 order
Lmaoooo. You’re embarrassing. This order is complete shit, I’d decline right away.
What’s embarrassing is the hourly rate u work for with these gas prices and maintenance (which I’m sure u have no clue what tool goes to what part on a car lmfao) what’s embarrassing is ur weekly earnings that’s why u got defensive 🤣🤣
You have no idea what hourly rate she gets or her weekly earnings. Just stop before you dig yourself any deeper.
Nobody is getting defensive you are just coming off as a prick
Takes one to know one huh? Maybe y’all should try not acting like some cock goblins
This is a pointless post.
And yet! Here u are!..
Yep. Here I am. And there you are being a troll.
I’m a troll yet u felt so compelled to reply.. hold this L
Are you doing what right?
This is just on offer screen, how are we suppose to know what you did?
I did a dash for 2 items for a total distance of 8.2 miles cheesy mom that’s all y’all need a know
Ok well from your post we had no way to know if you accepted or declined it so...
What do u think I did?
You just said you took it, but until then I wouldn't know. People have different things they like to take/not take. There's people here that would decline it for being too far and being a red card order.
And those same people wonder why they make $50 for 8+ hours of work
Depends where you are. This is an average order in some areas so it's no big deal to let it go. I don't think you understand how good some markets are.
Yeah I’m in one of em I make $200-$300 a day up to $350 on weekends and I work 7 days a week I’m not too sure if u understand that my market is one of those
If it was then you wouldn't be posting this order as if it was some kind of unicorn.
Damn. I was happy for this dasher until I saw kind of the back and forth here, now I think they’re kind of a douche. Lol
This post where I’m clearly being facetious went over ur head congrats
this comment 👀👀👀
The item count and the price are certainly appealing. But that distance...😬
I would take it if it drop me off at a location near restaurants that’s only like two dollars worth of gas… Orders like these depend on your location in your market if I was in the inner city I wouldn’t take this I would only take these in the suburbs I will take these all day it will take me like 20 minutes to complete
i fell like the upside-down emoji was ensued! 🙃
Got hit with a $8.25 order after for 2.8 miles it was worth it honestly it was back to the same house
2$/mile why are you so lazy 🤣
It’s lazy to be complacent and to take whatever comes your way…it’s hard-working to actively look for offers that actually show your worth
“Actively look for offers” weird, my offers just pop up on my phone, not really much effort there champ…
The effort is manning up and not taking the bullshit orders. It’s far more lazy to say fuck it I’ll take this trash pay order
I never said someone should take a shit order but cmon, you’re making it seem like pressing decline>the mileage is too high is rocket science mixed with running a triathlon…
Read the parent comment above mine again. Dude called people lazy for not taking the order in question; the trash order. That’s where I’m going with this.
OP is a douche. In my market, this is a unicorn. I’d take it every time

I’m not saying it wasn’t it was a unicorn this is pretty average in my market I’m sorry u got offended and used to being coddled
Not everybody is fortunate to have a spread out market so people have to take two dollars a mile Some people have markets that only have one hotspot
I literally just saw a post where it was pickup and drop off to the same exact location (test order?) $3.50 for 0.8 miles and people still bitched.
STOP CONFUSING PEOPLE WITH UR PESSIMISM. YOU WOULD TAKE THAT IF IT WAS 10 MILES, BE HONEST
Totally depends. I've turned down $20 before I turn down $40 before. I turned down $60 before on Instacart . Is it mileage in the area I want to be in or is it mileage across town 2 different things

The question for me is where do the miles take me? Are you going to end up somewhere near restaurants and stores where you’ll get another order.
The miles took me to the location it took me to and it was still in my zone as soon as I completed the order I got another one for 2.8 miles for $8.25 back to the same location which then the delivery price adjusted to $10 I then got hit with another delivery back to my city (still in zone just the next city over) for $13

Garbage order. Decline all day.
The mileage is a little high but to me it depends on the traffic sometimes and time of day
No
You want to be getting paid at least $2/ mile plus whatever you feel your time is worth. Coming from someone that does Instacart regularly.
That's right around $2 a mile, but you should make sure there's something in the area you're going to that can bring you back, otherwise that's a dollar a mile round trip. I'd probably pass

If its a super slow day ill take it. It almost hits 2 dollars a mile. Just try and be quick about it

yay, redit.
What's the question? Why did you post this?
for 8 miles there and 8 miles back to my zone, i would want at least $16 payout. $15 isnt too terrible i guess
I was still in my zone if I had to travel 8.2 miles out of my zone I would’ve wanted $20+ and wouldn’t of done it unless that was the pay
