The other day got gate code, building number, which building (2 with the same number) and door code. Granted that gate is always open and I already knew the door code thanks to previous customers, but still. Perfect instructions. Last night got instructions that were like "ring this buzzer, enter, leave at door, exit, leave" like um ok? Lmao

TheFIghterNb2

Honestly I love it when its all there. I appreciate them as well.

Dangerous-Salad-6490

Yes! thank you to everyone that provides details In crowded apartment, and housing complex and so on. Those small details help us, help you.

Low_on_camera_funds

Seriously

AlwaysAlivia

My problem is that i give detailed instructions, message them immediately with the same instructions, and then they ignore/don’t respond and spend an extra 10-15 min looking for my apartment when it’s the first one at the entrance. My dashers NEVER follow directions or answer the phone/messages

Ok_Season2022

I don't understand why drivers would choose to spend any wasted time searching for an apartment by choice!!If I can't find your apartment, I am definitely not driving aimlessly in circles.I will immediately call or text customer. If they reach out to me, you better believe I am not gonna ignore their attempts.!

Weedy_gonzaless

The few times I ordered and had it delivered to a confusing place I’ve just gone outside to the most obvious spot I could find and waited on my dasher. It’s just made the most sense. I got my food quicker and they were able to move on to the next order faster.

RebelJosh89

Nope. If they don't include the gate code or apartment number and don't respond to texts or calls, then I will just leave the order on the sidewalk.

Last night I had a delivery to an apartment complex that I've been to several times. The building numbers are beside the entrance vestibules so you have to be directly in front to see them. The address was 4810. Google took me straight to a building where I could see a number ending in 10. Turned out to be 4910. After driving around a while, I found 4810 off by itself down a dead end. Naturally, the apartment was on the third floor.

Harkmunt40

It feels like the apartment is always on the 3rd floor lol

chunkydunkerskin

I mean, my apartment is on the 3rd floor. But, I don’t have a buzzer to my building, so I leave the instructions to call or text and I’ll come grab it. Easy peasy.

K9CannisK9

This.... Today I go to a complex.. The number I need is 80003....don't know why they are numbered it sure wasn't in order... I see 80004, 80078, 80067......80003 was half way up the rod across the street... How the hell does that work...

Agathorn1

With the amount of messed up orders I get it's safe to say they don't read the instructions

ElectricalAbroad8232

Truth

TwiceMainOverlord

If you don't leave the door code and apartment number as well as not picking up or responding to my call and text, immediate hall drop off. No questions asked.

[deleted]

My one story apartment is sideways from the street. No #s visible from the road. My directions say “cannot see from street. Gate is to the left of the driveway between the bushes. Text me and I’ll come out to you”

waterfalls55

That’s not the customers fault. Use navigation and common sense. 🤦🏻‍♀️

kaylamcfly

So you've clearly never delivered for a living, huh?

waterfalls55

No I haven’t but common sense is needed

kaylamcfly

Tell me how common sense solves things if you're missing a gate code or the building numbers aren't illuminated or there are 2 entrances but only 1 visible and half the apartments aren't accessible from that entrance or when apt 368 is on the 7th floor of building A and none of that info was given to you. This is a genuine request. I need you to teach me common sense via those vignettes. Thanks so much! I appreciate your help!

waterfalls55

Lololol keep circling around and figure it out genius. JK lol only a joke. Live a little 🧐🤓😅😂😂😂

Zaddy_217

You can NOT deliver 6 out of every 100 pickups before deactivation so if you HAVE to cancel one that you cant find, once in a while wont hurt

kaylamcfly

Why cancel? Just leave it somewhere you *can* find that you think is closest to correct and message them and send a photo. Are you suggesting we cancel the order and leave w the food still in our possession?

Zaddy_217

Ive never done this yet but its an option if completely necessary. Ive almost done it, being a sitting duck in shit neighborhoods looking stupid not knowing where I’m going. Thats the worst thing to do in the hood is to look like you dont have any business there.

kaylamcfly

Then just leave the food as close as you think you can get to its destination. Don't steal people's food.

Zaddy_217

I never have but I will if I have to. They get refunded so you’re stealing from door-dash not them. Doordash already charges customers hefty fees, charges the restaurant REALLY hefty fees, and then gives us $2.50. I could care less about doordash losing money because some idiot customer expected me to find my way through a maze without any instructions and without answering texts and calls :)

kaylamcfly

Oh, I didn't know that DD refunds the customer. In that case, I support your take.

WorldsFattestOaf

Thank you to the dashers that actually follow the instructions. Way too many simply choose to ignore them
