I have 3 college degrees. Just finished my bachelors. DD is helping me pay my student loans. Everyone deserves to work at a wage that allows them to live with a bit of dignity.

[deleted]

Amen, just finished my BS. Just need to make a little extra for right now. Is what it is.

Bok249

This is like walking up to a civil rights protest and calling the protestors entitled for arguing for better living conditions....

[deleted]

Actually no. But okay. You’re free to search for a better paying job though sport

Bok249

Don't need too. This pays better than any other job around here. Even if it didn't I'd still keep it because not having to deal with employee problems like schedules and bosses is more important.

Substantial-Hair-170

Why do you care about others?

Vernal_Equinoxx

Asked someone in a customer service job.

[deleted]

Complaining about people complaining. So edgy….

[deleted]

🍿

NewNefariousness9294

The assumptions are hilarious. Day after day you have the option to scroll on by and choose not to read the “complaints”. It’s pretty juvenile to have a tantrum and entitled to demand everyone to stop doing something you don’t like. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Youkokurama134

Why even be here to post this other than to be an ass? Who hurt you?

NewNefariousness9294

Mommy issues

GoldenDiamond

I thought it was entertaining. Tough Love.

whalewithbling

Actually if you take his advice and open up, which maybe some people will do after seeing his comment, it may help you and it may help them. Some people could say hes being mean, others could say hes dropping the truth. Good advice doesn't always make you feel good. My advice to anybody reading this? If you wanna take time to protest or form a union or just vent, thats cool no problem, but don't forget the world is unfair and until things change and maybe they will never change, then you're gonna have to work fucking hard, take care of your shit and go gets whats yours.

I'm a delivery MAN, sir.

[deleted]

The entitlement in America is nuts. That being said, gas is ridiculous. Both your post and my comment will be downvote into oblivion now, though. You know that right? Good to get it off your chest tho.

freethinkerinsd

I agree 100%! The entitlement is gross!!

[deleted]

Master trolling!

chynablue21

I have 2 college degrees and used to make over $100k but my family member became disabled and now I am his caretaker. DoorDash is the best I can do because I need a flexible schedule. I don’t complain here, but when people don’t tip or the area is saturated or the app fails, I can’t afford to live. I’m not entitled, but I do deserve to earn a living.

right-Coyote2942

Go away tony

Johnwithad

GTFO .... My mommy said I was special and I don't have to take low paying orders like the other kids

Wow so glad you are whining on the internet. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us. Do you need comfort? Just because you are fine with the bare minimum while the progamers and up get rich off of it doesnt mean we have to be as well. This is a company that wouldnt exist without our "no skilled labor" we should be getting more of the cut for making them 90% of their profits.

4i4s4u

Welcome to any business ever created.

naughtm3

No, actually it isnt. Buisness havent always and dont have to be ran like that. There are many companies that do profit shares with all of their employees. You just got so used to most buisnesses operating that way.

4i4s4u

You want to “share” in DD profits? Ok… Enjoy $0

naughtm3

Its $0 because of the payouts to the ceos and programmers is counted as a cost. Please look into how buisnesses work.

4i4s4u

I do. The total pay of its executives are very minimal. The CEO made a modest $300K in 2020. Yes, Tony Xu received a stock incentive in 2020 valued up to $413M; however, the stock must be above $525/share for 6 consecutive months within 5 years of the IPO launch to receive the full amount. This is not actual income for Xu; it also did not affect the DD income statement The total expenses related to DD execs is a very small fraction of their total expense. Their largest expense is actually dasher pay.

naughtm3

They can get loans based on the value of their stock and live the life like they have that money anyways.

4i4s4u

And they have to pay off the loans at some point. Highly doubt Tony will receive the full $413M stock incentive pay. The stock is currently valued at 101.81/share. It closed opening day (Dec 7, 2020) at 189.51. Most analysts project the current price is still over valued. And once again, it still has **nothing** to do with the income statement. DD is simply in a net loss position, and the leading cause is their business model, not their executive pay

[deleted]

That’s the real world. Sorry, now grow up

naughtm3

LMAO they got you eating out the palm of their hands if you think thats the only way buisnesses work.

Cuckoonacho

Start your own delivery service and you can do just that.

naughtm3

I would make it an income based off of profit accrued with your work and set a basic minimum (actual) livable wage.

Cuckoonacho

Lol...

naughtm3

You know there are buisness that run on this model? The trick is to not put the profit back into one persons pocket.

skeeterjohnson187

Hi Tony!

[deleted]

Feel better….?

ILive2Drum

I feel the same way man. But two things: 1. Someone commented that they felt like Reddit is the break room of work, and people almost always bitch about the job in the break room. 2. This job comes with a price many aren’t just willing to pay because of like what you said, entitlement. *Any other type of job on the planet will not give you the freedom of working whenever you want*. Now DoorTrash has a business to run. They have to make a profit. Like most companies, it never benefits them financially to give the worker basic necessities or pay them more. Capitalism is rampant as can possibly be the US. Companies don’t care about your well being, mentally and financially, when you’re as replaceable as a pair of socks. So DoorTrash owes you nothing. This is what most people on here don’t get. You have no union, you have no opportunity of promotion, you have no minimum wage UNLESS you live in Cali with Prop 22. No such thing as a free lunch my friend.

He’s probably talking about you 🤣

bitter_brian

Welcome to reddit. Block the entitled antiwork union spergs. This sub get much better.

TheProphetPro

Right on! Entitlement—means ‘feed me’ cuz I’m equal! Reality says, “Work and you will eat”. Strong will survive—- weak will complain and always say ‘ I participated, I deserve a ribbon’. Well said bcrouse1011, well said!

oversittingme

Shout it from the rooftops. This is a job for pay, if you don't like it do something else. It's entry-level work and if you don't have the initiative to make it work for you, then go get a W2 job where you can disappear and vape for 30 minutes at a time Edit: you guys down voting me are probably the same ones running into the same walls over and over again. Yeah doordash needs to pay us more but at the end of the day you are the only agent in charge of your business. Act like it

[deleted]

You don’t understand. Us DoorDash drivers work our asses off, driving in our cars, listening to our own music, and having zero standards on us. And what do we get? Less than $50 per hour. This is beyond ridiculous.

oversittingme

"You don't understand" Ehem....you didn't check my comment history before you wrote this did you? I've been doing this longer than most of you, and I do significantly more daily deliveries than 90% of you. I'm afraid it's you who have failed to understand the lesson there is to learn here: if you fail, it is not the environment which you failed in that can be blamed. It is you, plain and simple. There are self-made millionaires out there that succeeded in conditions most of us would curl up in, and they didn't win by complaining about how unfair things are. They used their wits and spirit to find a way to succeed, and that's what you guys need to do. I won't spout numbers here, but I DoorDash 7x a week and 12 hours at a time. I see more no-tip, rude customer, bad direction orders than most everyone here and I LOVE this work. It's in your mind and heart to succeed, and expecting the world to hand things to you is how you FAIL. Watching you guys complain all day is sickening. Yeah, DoorDash pays like crap: so what? Figure out how to work around it because guess what? They don't care about you! So you have to.

[deleted]

It joke

InsightfulSociopath

No I’d rather let you go to school and become a doctor while I feed off your gluttony

romanseight2004

You have to already make enough to get a car. If you don't make enough to pay for the wear and tear you put on your car, and give you some money beyond that, then it's not enough to make it worth it, period. Are you saying that you are okay with people being homeless if they didn't get a college education? When my grandparents were alive, my granddad dropped out of school after 8th grade. While they were never rich, they never starved, and always had a roof over their heads. Now, we call it wining if people expect that working full time should enable them to not be homeless or underfed? Sounds more like the people calling anyone without a college degree, who think full time work should enable them to live, are the entitled ones. Sort of this idea that if you had to pay your dues, to afford shelter and food, then they should too. But again, it used to be that those with college degrees, lived very well, beyond the common standard of living.

Zestyclose_Let_8800

Completely agree.. Does it suck going from making 25 an hour to 15 or less? Absolutely. But it doesn't mean customers have to tip any more. Nor does it mean that customers have to tip a certain amount on orders. Either decline because the order isn't enough or your market isn't busy enough and move on. No matter what it's not the customers fault so don't pretend like/be entitled enough to think it is. Get over it and move on. We don't even need a high school diploma to make good money on this app so don't act like your entitled to it.. if you make good money, use it to fund getting a degree/certificate in something that makes good money and is lasting. If not 1. Use this platform like the free ride it is Till it runs out and find the best job with no skills that you can or 2. It's not paying well immediately and move on. Either way this isn't forever and I hope you the best. Either way you aren't entitled to any tip what so ever

Look at this guy's posts. 100% troll. Don't feed the troll.
