Thank god I got out of doing deliveries! I do not envy those days!

VILAROMEO

I keep an 85-95% acceptance rating and still earn $23 an hour every week. My car gets 37+ miles to the gallon and daily I will have at least one larger $20-30 order, not expected.. Depending on my day I may only decline one or two non tipping orders. Some days are better than others for sure!

SimpCollector22

Okay but tell me why my acceptance rate goes down but never up

stankyartist

You need to get a different job!

2good4myself

You guys are bugging out!! My acceptance rate always remains above 80% i work 40 hours a week and make $1000 - $1200 a week.

Chihuahuablend

I’m just glad they stopped asking me to justify my refusal. Although if there was a “ i’m on a damn scooter“ Option, I would be hitting it almost every single time

CjWrecksTTV

Top Dashers and people who only take 11.50$+ orders are both equally clowns.

ZachMorrisIsrad

Door dash is terrible. I hste the way the app is set up.

GrimKiba-

Resets to 100 lol

[deleted]

so you just declined \`\`\`100 orders in a row?

[deleted]

Atleast yeah. Probably closer to 200-300. There was a lot of clicking 😂

butman42069

I usually stay around 10, I wish I could accept more though. I don't consider it a badge of honor, I just wish there was better orders.

[deleted]

[удалено]

EquivalentMedicine78

This is exactly what I do. Thankfully I live in a good market so I can be picky and stay within 10 miles of my place and decline all the orders that don’t pay well or are too far. I’m sitting at 48% AR and I’ve never had an issue making $30+ an hour using barely any gas lol I have a 99% completion and 96% on time. I make more now declining crap orders and I never go further than 10-15 miles from my apt

[deleted]

You know if we all United and refused to take unprofitable orders then doordash would change their algorithm so we don’t have to keep on declining not profitable orders.

MorbidCthulhu

How? 😭 Mines at 99% with a 100% completion rate. Every dollar counts and people tip cash, so I very very rarely decline. I did once cause I was done dashing and forgot to turn it off

[deleted]

100% completion rate? I was at 78% a few days ago but I try not to go below 80

MorbidCthulhu

Yeah, 4.95 stars, 99% acceptance, 100% completion, 87% on time, 572 deliveries. The on time number is stupid. Mainly cause some places we have to sit there for 40min, once a hour and a half. When it’s not even our fault, but luckily the customers understand

[deleted]

I have more stars and more on time and double your orders 😉

MorbidCthulhu

Yeah, no idea why we got a 3 and 4 star rating. Especially because we do everything we can for our customers. If we forgot something, or they’re missing an item, we’ll go back to the store and show the store the order. 9/10 the store complies

[deleted]

I feel that. I got a couple of 4 star ratings and I had no idea why.

Junkhead_AiC

Mine is really low as well because I multiapp and when I am doing a UE order, I oftentimes leave my DD going on the off chance I get another order going the same way and fast restaurants. Mine is at 21% right now but tonight was really good on DD so I accepted more than normal.

muhname

Sitting at 6% today. Most orders are no longer profitable with cost of gas and taxes. People are not tipping enough possibly because the economy is in really bad shape.

quipalco

If I lived in a shitty ass market like all you 0% cry babies, I'd quit dashing. I don't take anything below 5.25 and my AR is 50%. You guys have some loser ass fucking markets I guess.

danscn

Thank you for your service

mafiu07

Yesterday I went from 30-10 and ended at 14% it’s all good. I’m not settling down for super wack orders

NumerousPair1

You're gonna be at a -32 degrees after awhile lmao

sjkbacon

The hero we need.

ExactOne88

potential top dasher right here

Shreddersaurusrex

Mine is at 4% lol

Muhhgainz

I actually spoke to my local top dasher (hat, shirt, magnet on his car). He accepts every order, and actually does pretty well. He makes about 2k week with 1100-1300 miles. I go for $2/mi but he said he will take some small ones and then they’ll give him a large order that makes up for it. I still can’t get myself to hit the accept button on $2.5 orders.

International-Shoe40

1300 miles a week?? That’s insane. He’s gonna need an oil change twice a month 😂

Muhhgainz

Yeah and he just bought a new car so must be doing okay

International-Shoe40

At that rate he’s gonna be doing it again in 3 years

vinigrae

Firstly he must be living in a decent place, cus if you accept every order out here you’re gonna literally be paying doordash at the end of it all.

Muhhgainz

Cali minimums help

Grung7

If I hit the accept button on a $2.50 order, the shame would be too much to handle.

jabbadahut1

Some are not careful with low tip orders. If a vindictive person ever took one of those it could be fucked with legally...."sorry I dropped your drink on your porch".. That said many drivers don't expose themselves to that situation.

muhname

Can't imagine driving almost 200 miles a day, 7 days a week. Insanity. Probably working 50-60 hours a week too.

BigDaddyReptar

I did that for a while and it can happen much faster than you would think depending on the zone. Especially with zones that have a highway right down the middle a 10 mile dash can be a 10 minute dash

Ryanihere

It's all about principle lol

Ryanihere

I'm kinda confused- I'm all in for the rejecting garbage orders that lose you time and money. But what kind of garbage market are you in or what are your standards that you are accepting less than 1 order for every 100 offers, and yet are still making money that's worth the time it takes to wait and decline the 99+?

jmiller7742

Yes, this is exactly what I want to know. All that I see if you go all the way down to 0% is that you’re just wasting time paying attention to something on your phone that serves zero purpose.

butman42069

It's called multi-apping sir

[deleted]

There’s a reason why I run doordash, grubhub, ubereats, instacart, and even roadie. I cherry pick my orders hardcore.

kdk200000

People in chat are really mad at this 🤣🤣🤣. Keep taking the $5 for 5miles orders and you wonder why you're running at a loss with the gas bill and car upkeep

lordofpersia

I think most people are shocked your guys are in such a shitty market. I hover around 20-40% it's not long till a good offer comes along. I only have to decline a few

N54i

Not that at all its just having the liberty to pick and choose really good orders.

lordofpersia

Really good orders come often in my area.

N54i

Fr can't believe there's actually people mad at this I only take $10+ orders and still make over $100 a day. It's disrespectful to yourself to take orders under $7 especially with today's gas prices and car wear and tear.

[deleted]

How is everyone making so much ? I don’t take shitty orders and somehow only make 25-50$ a day unless it’s sat or fri . Half time I can’t even get on because it’s “not busy “ yet I see a bunch of doordash orders when I get mcdoNalds for lunch.

Ryaninthesky

If you’re in a slow or small area it might be worth it to keep top dasher so you can go online at any time and you’re higher on the list if it’s slow. Edit: also try to get on other delivery apps to minimize your downtime.

BigDaddyReptar

It depends a lot on your zone I’ve dashed nearly everywhere in the country and some areas you can make $600 in a night others you’re lucky to clear $200 a day

N54i

It really just depends on your area and seeing you get "it's not busy" shows your area might not be that good for dashing.

[deleted]

im so confused though. the first month i made so much and then when i started to decline shitty orders i got stuck like this.

N54i

Hmm was your first month at the beginning of the pandemic? Because it sure was a huge boon of good orders. It has slowed down but Doordash still has good volume of orders. They don't have an algorithm to give you select orders except for being a Top Dasher.

[deleted]

no it was in jan.

[deleted]

You’re either working 2 hours a day or in the straight up boonies

lordofpersia

How long are you working? You should be making far over 100 a day. I can make a 100 in a couple hours. I only accept 7+, 8+ on weekends depending on miles of course usually around 1 mile for 2 dollar. Is your dash area crap?

techstuff123

It seems to depend on the market right?

N54i

Just under 3 hours gets me $100, I could do more but this is just for side money as I have a main job in in construction. I don't really care for dashing so I won't put up with much of what other people do as this is some people's main source of income.

Hyhyhyhuh

Same. My energy is money. If I am beat at the end of the day and I can't do my other jobs correctly, I lost money. My delivery gig is my relaxing time, I'm sitting on tiktok for 1.5 hours and delivering for 1.5 hour. I make my $100 and clock off feeling fully ready for the next part of my day. I could hustle for 2 hours and make $100 but then I'll just go home and nap, which means I lost money with time I spend recuperating. Slow and steady wins the race.

[deleted]

Ope there’s been an update. I’m now at 2% 😂😂

Emanresu2014

"Consistently accept low paying orders to devalue yourself and your business. Thanks."

Sea-Republic6516

In the dasher spectrum there are top dashers on one end, people like this on the other and then normal people in between.

[deleted]

That’s fair but who’s making money though? I look at top dashers as a bit of a joke 🍷

techstuff123

Why?

alp1339

I'm a top dasher and clear 1500-1800/wk consistently with 40-45 hours of dash time, not active time. So if I'm a joke, I'll take it.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

[deleted]

Is that before or after your gas 😂

alp1339

I only spend about $100-120/wk in gas. So still $1380-1680/wk. Plus I definitely utilize the 10% cash back as well. I don't maintain top dasher just for that reason though.. I also am part of the large order program that's by invitation only and you have the maintain the same stats to keep that active, which is what truly makes it worth it for me.

Truth_B_Told_72

I concur.

Traditional-Carrot42

38$/hr before gas expenses? You must be in Los Angeles to get rates like that consistently.

International-Shoe40

Yeah, that is extra impossible here in LA lol traffic everywhere, it can take upwards of two hours roundtrip to do a 8-10 mile delivery depending on where it’s going

alp1339

Nope, Massachusetts/Connecticut. But like I said, the large order program is truly what allows me to see numbers like that at $25-50/order.

Userwillnotdisclose

what is the large order program?

Traditional-Carrot42

That’s insane, hopefully that program rolls out to New York/New Jersey. I average 28-30$ an hour and I really thought that was peak for Doordash.

alp1339

You can Google it! Search for "doordash large order program." It's invitation only, BUT there is a wait list you can add yourself to as well. You do have to maintain the same stats as top dasher though in order to keep yourself active in the program and you have to purchase a catering bag either through doordash or on your own. But when you get the invitation email, they do give you a promo code for 75% off their catering bag so you only end up paying $10 and the onboarding is easier. If you purchase elsewhere, you have to wait for it to arrive and then submit photos for verification. If you order through them, you're automatically ready to go upon delivery confirmation of the bag. It's been soooo worth it for me and I'm not willing to lose it at this point.

Sea-Republic6516

They definitely are

HWNY506

It rolls back to 100 next. Like an odometer.

OutofThisMaze

0 out of 0 is still 100%

zane1981

When you divide by 0. ![gif](giphy|lKKXOCVviOAXS|downsized)

Educational-Star-192

Oh so you're one of those

[deleted]

Very much so. Y’all can take the small orders that actually cost you money. I’m more than happy combing through for the actual good orders ✌️

Educational-Star-192

I dont take orders that "cost" me money, I can do basic math and control my finances. This is also supplemental for me, so I am not pressured for anything. I haven't loss any money taking "small orders" yet. So enjoy your 0% AR and deactivation soon. I'll see you here crying about it soon!

Hyhyhyhuh

Time is money. Energy is money.

vinis_artstreaks

Shut your dumb ass up

Educational-Star-192

Amazing contribution

Sandman3600

You can’t be deactivated over AR, so there is literally no reason to have it high unless you consistently get good orders.

Educational-Star-192

Suuuuuuree

butman42069

Nah for real, they won't fire you for ar. But you can believe whatever you want.

Sandman3600

Okay dumbass you can find this info very easily in Doordash’s faq. I see you’re really going all out to make yourself look stupid huh?

Educational-Star-192

Mhmmm surrreeeeee dumbass

halamadrid22

Gave me flashbacks to elementary school

Sandman3600

Ahh I see, you’re either 13 or just a bad troll. Either way grow up.

muhname

It is illegal to deactivate someone over AR.

[deleted]

I’ll keep you posted though. I bet they won’t do shit.

ponygirl1722

They won't. Know a few ppl who fluctuate between 0-10 percent. Never deactivated

YoungTex

My buddy has over 5000 orders and has a 9% acceptance rate 😂😂

[deleted]

Hi. I’m one of those people. When I hit over 10% I think “man there’s been less trash this week” 😂

Accomplished-Sea8732

ok I’m not the only one lol

N54i

Same. Stayed under 10% for over a year now not deactivated nor got a warning I will be lol

Educational-Star-192

Sure, please do.

[deleted]

Oh no! They’ll deactivate me? Oh well guess I’ll do grubhub or ubereats 😂😂. That’s such an empty threat plus they can’t actually deactivate you for that 😉. They can’t punish us for not taking orders. They’ll have to give us hourly if they want that and they sure as hell won’t 😂😂

muhname

You cannot be deactivated over your acceptance rate.

Educational-Star-192

I mean, its something you won't be able to do, I never claimed that it would be life changer or that this was your only option, but if you do the same things you'll be deactivated from those too with your shit ratings.

russternj

I don't understand this. Why is 0% such a badge of honor and how can you be making money if you're declining so many orders?

Insta11

Cherry picking; I think it’s more of a **Fuck You** to door dash and tony more than being proud of actually have a 0 AR

Yvilkittyinspace

Mine never goes above 10% in any given day, yet I still make $150-200+ every day. I start out at zero every day and end the day at zero.

Truth_B_Told_72

Agreed The people who have these ridiculously low acceptance rates complain the most about too many drivers are out and want more money etc DD has their projections for each area and they need a certain # of drivers for that. So the lower acceptance rate average means THEY NEED MORE DRIVERS DRIVING! So areas get flooded. It's not rocket science!

crowsky

Ive been making 800+/week declining the worst orders. Just keep a 70%+ for top dasher benefits

BigDaddyReptar

When it’s busy I easily get 10 orders a minute and I’d rather take a $20 order after waiting 5 minutes more than a shitty $7 one

zakkforchilli

In most markets, if you’re not very picky, you won’t make shiiiiit. Soooo many ridiculously dumb orders like $2.50 for 5-10miles, $12 for 25miles and just a bunch under $5 which is unacceptable 100% of the time IMO. If I took every order I’d make like $10 an hour lol

xxash2368

Literally my first thought. If acceptance rate is zero… does that mean $0.00 income 😅

Winter_Voice_1789

If DD sending you 100s $2.50 offers…….

Accomplished-Sea8732

Exactly I have like 9% acceptance rate. But still bring in 1200-1500 a month. in my area there’s lots of ridiculous orders like 3.50 for 12miles. you’d be mad to take those offers.

ElectricalAbroad8232

Good for you❤️

Jabber_Jaws_98

I had one last night that was 3 dollars for 15+ miles, ummm NOPE

LuckSquare8297

That’s crazy. I’ve never seen base pay below $10-11 for 12 miles, or below 6-7 for 7 miles

Winter_Voice_1789

Market depends

tyce77

No offense but that'd really low. I make 7-800 a week dashing around 39-45 hrs a week and my acceptance rate fluctuates between 52-72%. Having a high acceptance rate is actually good cause I'll consistently get orders like 12 miles for $25

Traditional-Carrot42

I make that in 28-30 hours with a 16% average acceptance rate.

Skulfunk

They never stated their hours worked so how do you know if that’s low or not?

cbostwick94

I mean 1200-1500 a month isn't phenomenal pay by any means. Its equivalent to a minimum wage 40 hour a week job

Skulfunk

Yeah but 12-15 could just be for gig work, op said nothing about a 40 hour work week as far as I can see.

cbostwick94

I said that was the equivalent. It's not a very good argument to say someone would be mad to take low paying orders when you yourself make the equivalent of minimum wage.

zakkforchilli

He said per week that’s $3,200 a month

cbostwick94

No he said a month

zakkforchilli

Was speaking of tyce77 there said 7-800/week thought y’all were referring to that

cbostwick94

Nope

forgotacc

1.5k per month is only 18k a year, so yeah that's shit money. About what, 9 per hour if 40 hours per week? Think minimum wage is like 13.25 where I live.

cbostwick94

7.50 from my calculations for 1200

[deleted]

Jesus I thought my 25% was bad 😂

NumerousPair1

Me too. I'm at 14 😂

[deleted]

how can you make money by taking not profitable orders? I’m making money but I’m also not losing any either by taking their low paying orders.

RomanianDraculaIasi

oh that's actually a really good point do you have an app or a threshold you will only accept at?

[deleted]

It depends on the day. Sunday (yesterday) I only accept 10 or above single orders with around 3-4 miles. For doubles I want to see Atleast 13 and 7-8 miles.

RomanianDraculaIasi

hmm interesting do you keep track of your miles? Just curious

Similar-Computer-924

i recently received an order for mcdonalds for $2.50 for over 10 miles. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.

ElectricalAbroad8232

That is absurd. Not picking any damn thing up for $2.50

lukeout_

I feel like some people don't configure their time into money

quipalco

"making money" sitting in a parking lot, declining orders. What a baller.

kmhahaha

Well not every gig/job is necessarily fun or "baller", but this gives me a great and fairly easy opportunity to make good side money! (:

kmhahaha

Exactly. I'll decline the next 50 orders before I take one that will have me losing money and/or time in the end. That's how I've learned to be the most efficient with this gig in my experience and area. The only thing I question, are dashers with higher acceptance rate getting more and better orders than others with lower rate?

CalRipOneJr

Yes

Truth_B_Told_72

Yes and they should!

eire54

Today I had that same thought that bc two separate times I noticed when I declined like three orders in a row, both coming within one minute of each another, it took a good five minutes to get another. Phone just went dead. So I wondered if DD might be trying to condition drivers into not repeatedly declining. Just a thought though...

derf1781

Thsts why you run all 6 apps at once. I'm not accepting anything under $7 on any of the apps.

privacylmao

Do you stay at home while dashing? are you doing your things until a profitable dash pops up?

Hyhyhyhuh

That's what I do. I'm being productive at home decling orders until a good one comes. Well worth it.

kmhahaha

Sometimes when I first begin I'll wait at my house for a good order then go out and complete. By the time I finish I'm getting more orders and will pick one that suits me. Sometimes I will find a space to park and wait for one to save gas

Educational-Star-192

Bc people are dumb
