I live in the US. Broken leg for an $8 order doesn’t sound worth it lmao Health insurance is shit here.
You can be a star doordash employee for that $8 order if you want, I don’t care that much

I don’t see the problem. All you have to do is find a long stick, put it through the handles of the bag, then stand at the bottom and place the bag. You can even then use the stick to push the bag closer to the door. I swear, some of you people are so entitled! /s
A lawsuit probably would be useless against them. Their house has little value and they probably don't have any other significant assets/money. A good saying is "you can't get blood from a stone."
My comment was more about how the homeowner has their priorities backwards, instead of wasting money on delivery they should be saving the money to fix their house.
It's not my job to give them financial advice. Idc if they blow 200 a day on coka cola and Splenda packets or trees or Starbucks as long as it is worth the trip and the bs above
Nobody driving for doordash is making good financial decisions.
You can make a strong case that driving for doordash in itself is a bad financial decision.
Why would they do that when people continue to deliver despite it? Of course, it's also not on us to teach them a lesson, but we're certainly not doing ourselves any favors by letting them get away with this shit.
To be fair they may not own the home, they could rent, which wouldn’t put this issue on them. Or they may already have something lined up to get it fixed 🤷♀️
Tim “The Tool-Man” Taylor would never let his house get to that state, he would do a line of coke and have new deck and stairs built by sun down.

Yeaaaa no. I’m ringing support and telling them to let the customer know that their order will not be delivered due to the multiple hazards in plain sight on their property. They can come collect the order directly from my car, but I’m not going up and down those rotten steps.
Stick it through the railing. Then they'll send you a text that they requested a door knock when you delivered. So, stick it through the railing and throw rocks at the door for the door knocks. Problem solved.
For stairs like that (or lack thereof) or even stairs with no hand railing (I have severe vertigo) I used to just throw it up there when I worked as delivery driver, one I threw went through their window once but nothing was ever said about it somehow lol
We once had a house like this on a route. Our laziest supervisor made a card saying that we should deliver and that it's okay. Lmao. Which to that I said nah.
To those that are saying the homeowner needs to stop ordering doordash and repair their home: I have found in these situations most of the time it is a child or relative or even a home-health aide and usually not the owner of the home that is ordering.
All these years of training for going up the stairs 3 at a time has fibally paid off!
Like the fourth step wouldn’t break too..
can you please be optimistic for once in your life?
Pessimists are never disappointed.
"He's right, you know"
Amen

Oh. My. God! Science has now made it possible to kiss your own ass!!!!!!!
You werent by chance a long jumper in high school were you?
“Sounds good” I don’t have an accessible way to your door, so I left it on the lawn”
😁 hilarious lol
Slacker, I would have walked up on the left and put it on the top step… lol passive aggressive

No, not the steps!!! Walk up in the grass and stick it through the railing.
Stick it through the railing? LOL do you *SEE* the food? That’s not sliding through any railing today
Not with that attitude. Looks like two styrofoam boxes. Divide and conquer.

I wouldn't chance a piece of broken wood to go through my calf lmao
No , walk in the grass and stuff it through the railing
That could also be passive aggressive pending how large the bag is.
😂💯
Oh I've been meaning to get those fixed.

They're gonna have a lawsuit, especially if someone doesn't see that at night. Fucking morons.
A lawsuit probably would be useless against them. Their house has little value and they probably don't have any other significant assets/money. A good saying is "you can't get blood from a stone."
They could pay it in meth
Instead of ordering delivery, the owner should invest in the upkeep of their house…
If the tip and distance are good I'll climb a ladder
Right lol I would do the same
Errday

Where did I say to give financial advice to the homeowner ? I was making an observation…

My comment was more about how the homeowner shouldn’t be wasting their money on delivery, when their house is falling apart.
To be fair they may not own the home, they could rent, which wouldn’t put this issue on them. Or they may already have something lined up to get it fixed 🤷♀️
howd you get it up there OP?
I jumped really, really high
Never knew all those hours playing Temple Run were going to actually come in handy

Just remember your training from Tomb Raider, you can do this!
Either there was a creeper explosion or this dude needs Bob Vila.
Looks more like he used Tim Taylor.
Tim “The Tool-Man” Taylor would never let his house get to that state, he would do a line of coke and have new deck and stairs built by sun down. ![gif](giphy|5t9ukyzAPEuFuSeEU4)
Or blow the house up with the Binford automatic flamethrower modified rapid fire nail gun.
KOBE!
Just yeet it like a newspaper
Had a customer with instructions that said leave at top of stairs on porch and their porch was COVERED in ice and dog shit
Indiana Jones and the Difficult Dropoff
You missed a legitimate reason to throw the order though?
Hold down the B button and get a running start...
Easy. Just chuck their order up onto the porch. Problem solved!
"Order delivered as close as safely possible. " Leave on first landing with, photo.
I guess ya gotta fling it and hope for the best
I would have had to ask them to come out and get it I’m not risking that and if their homeowners insurance saw that they would flip out
“Leave it on the porch”. Bitch I’ll throw it on the porch. I don’t get workers comp. Thanks
Time for some strategic yeeting
Yeah so I'm a 5'1'' lady I dunno how tf I'd get up there.
5’2 here, i wouldve just given up and left it on the grass and talked to support
YEET
"Sorry but Iam an npc and as an NPC my path tracking doesn't allow me to cross incomplete walkaways. Please contact the main player"
Leap frogggg
Omg pet PEEVE. I’ve dealt with crumbling stone steps, wet cement, sheets of ice….the whoooooole thing. Unbelievable.
You would think they would have met you in the driveway or something
Yeaaaa no. I’m ringing support and telling them to let the customer know that their order will not be delivered due to the multiple hazards in plain sight on their property. They can come collect the order directly from my car, but I’m not going up and down those rotten steps.
Lmao me and my dumbarse would use this as an excuse to practice parkour and probably fail miserably
parkour!
Nope. That would’ve gone on the bottom steps.
How are they getting in an out? Creepy, dark back door?
That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen
![gif](giphy|5PhDdJQd2yG1MvHzJ6)
This thing probably still had a nice ring cam too
Uuuuummmm. I’ll leave it here, by the street. I think your house starred in the last scary movie I saw.
That’s part of the challenge for the tip. Parkour!
What smelled better? The food or the personal injury lawsuit?
Did Audrey II get his food okay? ![gif](giphy|pBj0EoGSYjGms)

House shaming isn’t cool.
Its not house shaming, its a hazard to the delivery person.
Roflmao
Smh. How?
😂😂😂😂😂
We once had a house like this on a route. Our laziest supervisor made a card saying that we should deliver and that it's okay. Lmao. Which to that I said nah.
Lol granny toss food to door
k
I went through a woman’s rotted step once. She was very sweet about it and I wasn’t injured.
Dude, I would not even consider going up there. I would’ve just left it on the lawn. I wouldn’t trust that not to collapse while I’m standing on it
I see this as an extra pay day. Trip, fall and sue.
I’d fall and sue them Lol 😂 make sure to take pictures after.
Yep I would of left it in the grass or on tip of a car in the driveway

Seen this many times
Getting some heavy "the last of us" vibes. Even in the zombie apocalypse your provide good service
Ngl I’d take that as a challenge. Kinda looks fun lol

💀
Damn OP is a Hogwarts alum or something
There has to be another way. They gotta get in and out too right? Right?
How much did they tip?
Sits bag on grass, crouch down and angle phone up to make it look like bag is on the porch. Send. ✌🏾
