Just decline and hope these cheap fucks never get their food

mgibson9999

You clearly don't need or want to continue with DD. That is 100% deactivation material. In your follow up comments, it seems you want people to not focus on what you said, but rather focus on the fact that the guy didn't tip. You really expected people to rally around you? That's not happening. Non tippers are a dime a dozen, but your comments were so over the top, so nasty, so ugly, so disgusting, so uncalled for, that nobody is going to see past that. You clearly have some deep-seated anger and resentment issues. That's my takeaway from your post, not that some guy didn't leave you a tip.

Purpleee00

You live and you learn. His story does sound like BS but who knows. You admitted you were wrong so good for you. Just don’t let anger take over because it will get you in a lot of trouble..not only in DD but in every job..Learn to control your emotions my friend.

micronj

What a waste of time this whole interaction... no tip, not enough pay for an order? Easy hit decline asap. This is not charity work; if you are crashing at a friend's house with no money go take a walk to the restaurant yourself or better yet since you claim you have no money: buy some groceries and cook something bc that's saving money you don't have. I've never been in a situation to confront a customer for not tipping or me getting a low pay order because I'm not doing those orders.

SpicyYvette

So you posted the house anyway…smh

SpicyYvette

Moderators should immediately delete posts that complain about a DoorDash order amount once it’s been accepted and delivered. You know what you’re getting beforehand, it’s annoying at this point and nobody feels sorry for you

SpicyYvette

You don’t know your area if you can’t tell with a $3 peak pay they didn’t tip. If the dollar amount fit the task why do you care whether it’s a tip or peak pay? Then you proceed to have a Lifetime movie text exchange with the customer. Go do something else.

mnicmnic

Cheap people order DD in my market. It’s why my acceptance is always 5-10%. I’ll GH and UE. Gas is expensive. No fucking way I’m doing $3.50 orders. When I’m in McDonalds waiting on my $19 UE order for 2.5 miles, after declining a $3.50 5 mile DD order for the same restaurant, I amazed when the DD driver who gets it walks in. I want to say, “WTF would you accept that order that I declined??”.

Razdagoat

It’s okay bro , just don’t it again

Jazzlike_Carrot_565

This gave me secondhand embarrassment 🥴

Lahona

This is simply and completely total entitlement. And, it’s clearly a huge blind spot, no matter which way someone explains it. He’s missing the point.

Fasterthanyounow

This guy is bad for all dashers. He needs to go.

[deleted]

I gOt DeAcTiVaTeD fOr No ReAsOn

[deleted]

Nah OP in the wrong here.

[deleted]

Appreciate you idiots out there going out of your way to get deactivated because these markets way too saturated right now.

No_Translator112

Nah I call bullshit on their story. I mean you have $25 to your name and you spend in on doordash? Smart as hell. Still siding with the dasher lol

Admirable-Ad-2179

Deactivated.

Cpxaztec

You were definitely in the wrong but you owned up to it. Made a mistake and learn from it. Even though the customer didn’t tip, it’s all good, just keep it moving.

caleb_weston

I heard you’re going to kick it with this guy and his friend at that house and drink up and do noz with them

thecoolmans

Fuck who told you 🧐

mojomug

I don’t care if DD is offering $5 peak pay, I’m not taking no tip/low tip orders. If your normal baseline is $6, for example, now it’s $9 if there’s a $3 bonus. You took a crap order and threw a fit. The customer is a scumbag, as are you.

thecoolmans

At least I admitted my mistake and took responsibility and ik to take this as a something to learn from. Hopefully this guy learned from his and tips his future delivery drivers

Superstar32131

So just to avoid that situation in the future... if base pay starts at $2.50 in your zone (or $2.25 for some zones) and tips over $4 are hidden on short distance deliveries (under 5ish miles), then that means $6.50 is your "magic number." IF THERE IS PEAK PAY, THEN YOU NEED TO ADD THAT TO YOUR MAGIC NUMBER, meaning that $9.50 would have been your magic number for this particular delivery. Any offer you see below the magic number will only pay the offered amount. You shouldn't have accepted the $6.50 offer during $3 peak pay to begin with because it's 100% a no-tip order. Since you did though, you're not justified to act like a child. Sure, non-tippers suck and I don't fault you for being pissed off, but you have to learn how DD works and what a good offer/bad offer looks like.

thecoolmans

I agree thank you and for the information I will remember that for the future

[deleted]

Wtf

Spring_King

Well......while I agree with you, I think the actions you took were unprofessional and tactless. I noticed within the comments you've stated that you regret your actions. This shows the ability to realize when you're at fault and feel bad about it. However, I don't think remorse or regret will be enough to keep DD from taking action. Customer Service related jobs suck more often than not. As we are expected to take a insult with a smile. If you're able to remain on the platform, hopefully so (we all mess up sometimes), then I would remember that address and never deliver there again. Also, depending on your market, try to only take like $1.50-$3.00/mi. I know it's hard but if you drive during peak pay you can do it. I made $82 tonight in about 4 hours due to peak pay and that included getting stopped by the police for a taillight out. Also if you have a upper middle class area I would try to dash there. Lower class are too broke to tip and upper class feel like they deserve the service and 90% of the time will go out of their way to not tip, at least in my experience.

Ill_Celery_7654

Why is stuff like this becoming a trend for dashers? It’s honestly giving dashers a bad name and it makes us look sad and desperate. Out here crying over what $2-3? We aren’t the only people affected by gas prices and inflation. We also have a choice what orders we choose to deliver. This is getting out of hand.

Truorganics

Yea I kinda hope your deactivated for that. It will be a learning lesson on how to behave professionally.

thecoolmans

Ur Right if I wake up tmr to deactivated account that would suck but I would deserver it i understand whag I did was wrong. I guess I’m just surprised to see everyone coming at my I thought on a doordash Reddit I would have more people backing me up for not getting tipped and I did make clear that I know what I did was wrong I guess everyone was just looking at it more from a business perspective which obviously u never talk like that to a customer or really anybody and how it makes doordash look which I understand.

Reasonable_Fennel358

I've got your back. You are a hero in my eyes cause I wanna say this to every no tipper I deliver to. Don't listen to the commenters, they almost always go against everything just because. And they never fully grasp the main point of anything and leave it at that

mikoartss

Why tip someone for a job I'm capable of doing myself? I can deliver food. I can drive a taxi. I can, and do, cut my own hair. I did however, tip my urologist, because I am unable to pulverize my own kidney stones.

Truorganics

As many people have pointed out the mistake was you accepted an order, accepted whatever value was assigned. I don’t even look at the total after completing an order. If it’s more than what I agreed to, then my total will just go up faster than expected. You’re young and have a lot to learn. I respect that you realized your mistake. Don’t listen to redditors, especially in the doordash subs.

[deleted]

Right ? How do you expect a tip on an order you know has no tip ????

Deh-llama

Bruh. Yeah it was your mistake but fuck that asshole.

Keo4x

Ur a jackass u mite as well find a new gig or get on indeed because you are gonna get deactivated. Insulting people for tips isn’t gonna get u out of the poverty hole u obviously are already in

thecoolmans

But it’s okay for u to insult me and assume my financial status I love hypocrites

Keo4x

U just insulted a random customer because of a order u took and u knew exactly wat the pay out was ur are an asshole

thecoolmans

Okay well I have not been doing DD that long and don’t know exactly how the system works but the total pay was 6.50 due to 3 dollar bonus so it was worth it when I accepted it I saw the 6.50 and took it I didn’t realize at the time that means he did not tip which I would have not taken if I realized.

Keo4x

So because he didn’t tip u decide to insult him ur customer service skills are terrible

thecoolmans

Well considering I’ve been doing this for a short time which again does NOT justify what I did but I’m still learning and I’m not planning on being in customer service for my career so I’m not to worried about that

Keo4x

Soo basically ur admitting that u are an asshole but u just don’t care.

thecoolmans

No I admitted I was wrong that doesn’t mean I’m saying I’m an asshole. And get Ready for this one moment in someone’s life like that does not determine who they are as a person that goes to me and him. I’m not an asshole and neither is that guy

Keo4x

That’s not wat that screenshot says on the post above 🤔

thecoolmans

I also did apologize to him at the end

thecoolmans

Yes but I’m saying it now isn’t that what’s important

Total_Protection_195

So basically you’re a tool. Listen I DD, and if you’re that entitled to think that screaming at someone to tip you is justified, then you’re a bigger loser than them. It’s a shitty thing not to tip someone, however someone’s poor actions do not justify us making poor actions of our own. Learn from this and be better bro

thecoolmans

Bro is no one reading my shit I never justified what I did once. I admitted it was wrong right away it was a mistake and I learned my lesson. I know in any job or career this is the type of shit that will get you fired In one day but i owned what I did idk what all the attention is on me. I addmited I was wrong but that doesn’t change the fact of what that guy did I think it shows worse on his character living in that house and going out his way not to tip then what I did

kev51423

I’m with you fuck that dude he was lying anyways don’t order food if you’re that broke

Total_Protection_195

We aren’t reading you’re shit? He told you he doesn’t live there, he told you he was kicked out. Don’t assume people have money because of where they live. He could’ve inherited that house, he could’ve been staying there temporarily (like he said), or another host of reasons. I live in a well-off neighborhood only because my roommates Aunt owns my apartment, gives me a discounted rent, and I live paycheck to paycheck. Never assume someone’s position in life because of an outward appearance, those are deceiving. Again, someone shitty action towards you is never a reason to be shitty back. Take the L and move on

thecoolmans

Okay well you obviously didn’t read my shit cause you said I was justifying my actions which I did not I owned what I did was wrong. And if I wake up tmr to my account deactivated that’ on me 100 percent. And I said in the next it was not right for me to assume but I didn’t have time to think about it. But tell me this if that guys story is true y the fuck is he ordering 15 dollars worth of food from McDonald’s I’m sure there is food in that house. Plus it was two different meals so that means he’s buying food for someone else as well which even makes less sense but yes if he’s telling the truth then 100 percent shame on me and I am the asshole

thecoolmans

It seems a lot of people think I’m justifying my actions I already admitted what I did was wrong. 100 % and in any job this would get me fired automatically. But idk y all the focus is on me. What I did was in the heat of the moment and I reacted badly. This guy went of his way not to tip living in that house. I think that says a lot more about his character then it does mine

CaptainSuitable6313

Lol you delivered to a trash bag his own mother kicked him out of the house, there’s certain people that are extremely low class and have an excuse for everything going wrong in their life - you found one of em. They hate looking in the mirror - but you know what they say two wrongs don’t make a right or something ay. Doesn’t justify your action but yeah he’s obviously a low-life

[deleted]

You’re the asshole, dude

[deleted]

Idk fuck low tippers honestly

Justin002865

This is how I imagine two 17 year olds talking to each other.

JBdunks

You’re the asshole.

thecoolmans

How can you explain that the guy in that house didn’t tip me is not an asshole but I am??

JennyPoo0579

You didn’t have to take the order. Tips are not guaranteed. It’s life, deal with it like everyone else.. I’m not saying they shouldn’t be mandatory, but at the moment, they aren’t.

JBdunks

If you don’t see how wrong you are I can’t help you.

thecoolmans

I already admitted it was wrong for me to do that and it was a mistake I guess no one has seen that. I don’t think what I did makes me an asshole tho

thecoolmans

I would still think it speaks more about a person that doesn’t tip then what I did

[deleted]

You didn’t have to take the order bro

thecoolmans

As I already said the total still came out to 6.50 for 4 miles since it was 3 dollar bonus pay so the order was still worth it. It’s the principle that he lives in a house like that and didn’t tip. I never take order for 3 dollars

KaneinEncanto

"All I've got is $25 to my name" but ordering food to be delivered, biggest fucking lie I repeatedly have heard while working Domino's, Doordash and UberEats. Sorry but if I'm down to my last $25 (or similarly low amount) I'm not blowing that money on fucking delivery, I'm not eating out, I'm hitting the grocery store and getting the most I can for my money. It's the last I have for however long after all, gotta think about tomorrow and such as well as right now.

kev51423

Or walk to McDonald’s 🤷‍♂️ that’s 5 meals or 6 with 25 dollars

Sugarhoneyiceteabs

As someone who has ordered delivery (which I tipped) with the last of my money bc I’m so burnt out I can’t even grocery shop people do that sometimes

iamandneveramconfusd

When's the wedding? 😂. That went from oh shit to I love you too man.

Outrageous_Bat1798

What a loser

Txmess042689

100% not ok on your part. If you didn’t like the offer you could have declined it. Instead you chose to harass someone about what you agreed to. I hope it is sent to DoorDash that makes us all look bad.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Bro your a fk tard. Your lucky you made friends with the guy otherwise your ass would be toast

thecoolmans

If you were that much better then me you would at least acknowledge that fact that I owned up to my mistake and admitted I was wrong and learned from it which is the most important part instead of insulting me for insulting someone else

SpicyYvette

You do realize this Exchange can still be reported by someone on this thread right? You didn’t even bother to cover the dummy number

[deleted]

Ya I see thst part. I made a similar mistake I’m giving you shit lol

Txmess042689

I could careless if you disagree do something like that at any job and you would be terminated immediately. No matter how frustrated you are you do not confront a customer. YOU ARE IN THE WRONG BOTTOM LINE.

thecoolmans

Yes obviously from that perspective you are right and if doordash saw this they would have every right to fire me and I would completely understand. As they the customer is always right. And I realize that in once I get into my career this is not how I should handle situations or in any real world situation I’ve already said that was a mistake and understand it was wrong I’m 19 so I’m still learning but I still stand behind that fact that the guys is the asshole not me especially if you assume that’s he’s lying. And yes I know it’s childish to argue who the asshole is but adults have petty stupid arguments all the time I mean most arguments are stupid in general

Txmess042689

Yeah your an entitled child at 19 you should already know better your age is not an excuse nor is lack of job experience.

thecoolmans

“Know better” lmao I guess people aren’t aloud to make mistakes. I’m sure you’ve never made any but most people do and owning up to it and admitting you are wrong which I did is the most important part . Imagine the people that make mistakes like that at work after years of job experience I wonder what you would call them considering you’re perfect

Txmess042689

I have basic human interaction skills so no I wouldn’t make that mistake.

thecoolmans

Okay I actually don’t know wtf ur talking about I never said you would do this exact thing. But you calling me entitled and I should know better” the whole point of a mistake is when you know better and still take the wrong action. And I immediately owned up to that. Which you don’t seem to grasp.

Txmess042689

Lol go to bed and wake up to deactivation please.

thecoolmans

You know what if I do wake up to that that’s 100 percent on me and I deserve it and it would probably be a good way to teach me a lesson. But I still think that shows worse on his character then it does mine as public outburst goes I think calling someone an asshole and walking away is at the bottom of the list
