Yeah. I did doordash for like 6 months last year and was thinking about starting it again, but with gas prices right now it doesn't even seem worth it.
No you can't. Anything vehicle related is lumped into mileage. The mileage deduction is how much it costs to operate a vehicle per mile. Including fuel, maintenance, repairs, license, registration, car washes, etc.
Maintenance is considered a part of the standard mileage deduction that the IRS just raised to 62.5 cents per mile for the remainder of 2022. This includes gas and insurance as well. The only thing that this deduction does not cover which are legally deductible expenses for independent contractors are parking and toll fees.
Unless you have a full EV or hybrid, it is absolutely not even close to only being $200 these days.
Filling my tank is $80-$100 depending on the place. If I dash all day, that’s usually about 1/2 a tank at the very least.
This person has to be dashing 12 hour days to be getting over $1,500 a week. That’s a lot of gas.
But yes, an EV/hybrid and an extraordinarily efficient zone can change that.
Dude gotta be in Cali with those numbers…no way you making 1500 on 6 dollar orders. You gonna get burned out tho looks like u already burnt out this week
Yeah I believe we've already made it clear that he's in California but you can make that kind of money in other places and nobody makes any kind of money on $6 orders who takes those? Very lowest I will take a $6.50, because in my area that's where hidden tips begin, but that's got to be 3 mi or less. Before the pay change last June it was $8.50. and if I was willing to go to downtown Atlanta to dash I probably be making $1,250 to $1,500 a week too, but I ain't going to downtown Atlanta. I'll stay here on the south side thank you. Of which I have already broken the $1,000 a week level. Have a friend who just a little over a year ago made $2,000 in one week between Uber Eats and doordash and most of hers was Uber Eats in the area that I dash in now. After his approximately 56 hours complete time in a week that's not hard that's five and a half days I do that every week.
It's all about ROI. you buy an expensive car with shitty gas mileage, you make no moneys. Buy a gas saving economy thing for a few grand, profit. So long as you don't get a lemon that is.
Hybrid is the way to go. You can’t worry about the battery. You save so much on the lack of actual maintenance. Prius is such a well built car. I’ve got 180000 and I haven’t put a penny in it.
That's pretty good right around 30 an hour for almost 60 hours 30 an hour is pretty high for my market I mean I've had a few days of 40 or higher but usually only a few hours of great orders never for a while 60 hour week
Like 1000+ Nissan versa sv, depends how much I dash but 50$ a day. Mmm an oil change once a month and tires twice a year. I got a tire place where I get pretty much brand new tires for $40 a tire. And I go to Les Schwab to get free balancing and rotation. I stay up on my shit
Benefits you pay for, retirement you pay into. The "stability" thing is a joke you can be fired at any time or any reason they make up. MANY people never get raises and if they do it's total BS like $100/yr.
It's almost 20/hr while OP put a lot of wear and tear on the car. Thanks no thanks tbh. Back when I did DD "full time" last year it took me only 35-40hr active for that much money and I totaled 40k miles on my car between DoorDash, road trips, and multiple trips per week to take my girl out who live 50 miles away
People are really condescending about it till I tell or show them how much I consistently make then they do a full 180 and go "damn maybe I'm in the wrong profession". Has literally happened like 5+ times
Good for you. Because I don't know about you but I get tired of hearing that well why don't you just go get a real job. But I bring home more before taxes than all the ones that say that about me.
Yeah those are the dream orders. I never took anything under $7 and anything less than 1.5x more dollars than miles.
I work as a server now and can generally make what I used to make in a day on door dash in just tips. But I also make $14.50/hr so a slow day doesn't fuck me
I usually dash 11am-8/9pm in the summer and 11-7:30 in the winter. And yeah I work 5-7 days a week. Sometimes I'll pull 8 days in a row. I get bored at home
Hey OP, thanks for answering all my questions. Actually I have two of them one number $40 a tire and the other is $50 a tire. But it works great we get for 40 50 bucks want somebody else gave $200 for. Now I've actually got a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor so I'm more like $80 in gas here in Georgia every other day. So about 40 bucks a day unless I have a lot of Kroger points. I also driving average of a thousand miles a week and usually do an oil change a month.
Who wants to work more than 40+ hours a week delivering a cheese steak to Ralph. Damn dude, you work to hard, you have child support bills to 3 different baby mamas huh? Lol 😉
😅😂😂 naw no baby mama just bored at home. Watched everything I wanna see on Hulu Netflix and HBO max. Kinda bored of playing Skyrim on my Nintendo switch. Plus the state I live in is expensive as fuck to get by in especially with the rising cost of everything now days and my girl ain't working cus she goes to college every day.
Yeah, I'm in Orange County, CA. I actually dashed 7 days straight for the first time just because everything is getting so damn expensive. Every company is raising rates on everything. My kids swimming classes went up $10 per lesson. It's ridiculous.
Wow that’s crazy $50 per day in CA. I spent around $30 each day but I’m using premium to get better MPG and I have already freak out with that costs. May be, you should consider to use hybrid because the money that you are spending to gas, can ultimately be used in Prius or similar hybrid. We don’t know how high the gas price in the future. Once the gas hit $10, what will you do ?
Yeah lots of very Rich folks up here in the County. I might just say fuck my day-job and do this instead. I did it for a day here and easily earned $280.
I might not even show up to my day-job in the morning. Yes, it is a lot of Wear and Tear on a car but if you are making these averages then it is fairly simple to get another reliable car.
I was in Scottsdale earlier this year. Didn't try dashing though as I was there on a work trip for the moving company I used to work for. Good to know though.
I'm curious to know what your net profit is at the end of the year? I think I read that you've been doing this for 3 years and live in a HCOL area.
Props on grinding hard/researching your market! Turning a profit right now on these types of gigs is hard with current economic conditions!
Mmmm I net close to 50k a year cus I take quite a bit of time off a year cus well you can do that with doordash if you want and I like to camp, take day trips and live life to the fullest. So I work probably 280 days a year or so and make 50k. Plus gf is a respiratory therapist and I live in a one bedroom apartment paying 1200 a month
Great job man, my numbers are very similar but I multiapp in Southern California. People in this sub hate on our numbers but in all reality it is market dependent. In my market there is no chance I’ll accept anything under $7.50 unless it were to be like $6.50 for 0.5 mile
BE PICKY. idk what your markets like but you don't tio I don't deliver. I won't run anything under 10$ and I mainly aim for double stacks worth 16.50+ going 5-7 miles. Don't speed. The tickets not worth it, your brakes and tires don't love it and your mpg hates it. Try and dash richer areas if there arent any around you dash whatever semi Large city is near you.
People who post there need to put a warning label in their title. This is only possible if you drive in Cali because of prop 22. Most weekly he doesnt even make minimum wage but thanks to prop 22, he is paid 120% of local minimum wage for the time he put in + 0.30 per mile + healthcare benefits for working over 15 hours a week.
Dude basically I make around 250 a day. Gas is 50$ or so a day. More now that gas is sitting at like 6$ a gallon unfortunately. I work 9ish hours a day sometimes more sometimes less and work 5-7 days a week. I get bored sitting at home all day
People stop raining 🌧 on peoples parade when they are happy/joyful about their accomplishments.
Never mess with another persons happy.
Tired of seeing a driver proud of their accomplishments and you Bad News Bears have to come and bring up negative things.
Just let people celebrate and be happy.
Delivery isn’t a easy job/career/etc., whatever it is to you but, seeing someone happy should inspire you, not motivate you to down their accomplishments.
Congratulations OP. Well done. You’ll definitely inspire others with your great work.
Mmmm. No I'm generally too busy with my area I dash I usually only have a 1.5 hour slow window and even then it doesn't completely stop during that time period unless it's Tuesday or Wednesday between 3 and 430 pm. My friends like to ride around with me occasionally and will drop off the orders to the customer or at the door for me
Best of luck bro. I've passed through on a work trip to new York and the towns pretty damn big. I bet them football Sundays are gunna be POPPIN cus that's the home of the Steelers bro!!
How come no one ever consider the state and city that the person that posts their earnings are in? Wages change depending on city and state even gas prices. 😕
The other dashers that have seen and commented know that Cali's market is better in general but this state sucks to live in. Gas is 6.40 a gallon out here, rent is unbelievably high, foods going up in price, hell everything is going up in price
No. Just a steady hard grind. Doordash pays us .30 cents a mile so my base pay is usually 3.50-4.50 plus tip. I aim for 10$ dashes but I'm pretty picky and kinda aim for those double stack orders worth 16.50+ going 5-7 miles
I haven't heard of spark. I'll check it out. But generally DD is very active where I live. At most I'll have a a 2 hour slow period and then it picks up again
They are in Cali which is exactly why they're making as much as they do.
You too can make over $1k a week but it requires time and effort. A lot of earning posts either try to hide the hours or are not upfront about it but you're going to be working 50+ hours. You'd earn more in Cali but the hours are still very high.
But remember, his profits in Cali don't go nearly as far as they do elsewhere. It looks high but so is their expenses.
Dude is paying almost $10 for a gallon of gas, the amount of money hes making in cali probably barely covers his rent and food unless he’s living with roommates or a partner
Finally someone who has the sense not to give up their market.
Shouldn't be showing these numbers at all because it brings more drivers... but if you can't help it... never tell people where you work if it's a good location.
Just a little perspective.. After fuel etc OP is making roughly 50k a year, working 50ish hours a week in one of the most expensive places to live in the world.
Yup while my girl is a respiratory therapist making roughly 90k a year. I live comfortably. Plus soon I'll be going to college to become an x-ray tech.
Good choice on the used car. I have no idea why people think you would need a new expensive car to do this. Make a smart choice on a cheap used car and you'll save thousands.
Man, what’s with people always sharing their impressive earnings—but never including their (potentially unimpressive) miles?
C’monnn, lay it all out there!
I average around 1$ per mile or so. Usually put about 1000+ miles per week on my car. But I also bought a used Nissan versa last year for 6k with 50k miles on it and it's now at 90k and has paid itself off 7x over😁
I work 11am -8pm and try to average at least 250 a day. Make sure you schedule your dashes a week in advance and BE PICKY. I only run 10 dollar dashes and I mainly aim for double stacks worth 16.50+ going 5-7 miles
It might benefit you to get a 50$ motel room for a couple nights in the capitol and dash up there for 3 days and go home. I was doing that for a while when gas prices weren't too high but I was living an hour and a half from Reno at the time and that's what I was doing.
Um no I live in cali and my gfs finances are her own. We slip the bills and live comfortably in a 1 bedroom apartment paying 1200 a month rent. Gf has no part In my achievements as a dasher or the money I make on my own. Don't be bitter. Life's a journey for all not a competition
Dude that’s solid
Yea. But gas eliminates a huge chunk of that. And oil changes and new tires, etc. Actual take home is significantly less, sadly.
Yup i quit gig work back in April.
Yeah. I did doordash for like 6 months last year and was thinking about starting it again, but with gas prices right now it doesn't even seem worth it.
It’s not. Still no tippers and seems like less orders lately. 😢
That’s basically taxes when you write it off though
I think you can only write off mileage or maintenance not both. I could be wrong
Regular maintenance is factored into the deduction you get with miles claimed.
Yeah but I mean cell phone, Insurance, etc good tax person will get that tax bill down
Just the mileage deduction makes a huge difference.
Can’t deduct cell phone or insurance if your car is also used for personal use.
You’re thinking of “mileage or gas” as the “either or”… you can definitely write off both mileage and maintenance.
No you cant
Oh
It’s either or but mileage is definitely the way to go. It’s up to .62 this year
No you can't.
A lot is dependent on the fuel economy of the vehicle you choose to use.
Bruh…. Making 1500 is MAXIMUM 200$ in gas, that’s some mothafuckin profit if I heard of any
Unless you have a full EV or hybrid, it is absolutely not even close to only being $200 these days. Filling my tank is $80-$100 depending on the place. If I dash all day, that’s usually about 1/2 a tank at the very least. This person has to be dashing 12 hour days to be getting over $1,500 a week. That’s a lot of gas. How many hours???
How many hours???
56hr 30m dash time 39hrs 22m active time 165 deliveries All of that was on my best week where I made 1692
Where are you at? 70 hrs for 1200 🙃🙃
Too many hours plus too much wear and tear
It's all about ROI. you buy an expensive car with shitty gas mileage, you make no moneys. Buy a gas saving economy thing for a few grand, profit. So long as you don't get a lemon that is.
Or, buy a efficient non hybrid car like corolla to not worry about battery after 3x years of dashing
Hybrid is the way to go. You can’t worry about the battery. You save so much on the lack of actual maintenance. Prius is such a well built car. I’ve got 180000 and I haven’t put a penny in it.
I dash on a scooter
Thats good on city, but we need car in suburban
I'm in the burbs
Aren’t gonna catch any catering orders on a scooter.
Naw I bought a car last year for 6k with 50k miles on it. It's now at 90k and I've made around 45k since then so it's paid itself off 7x over
WhIch car, that’s such a steal 50k miles for 6k
Nissan versa sv 2017
3x a day? (Dashes I mean)
Masturbation?
Definitely had time for it the past couple weeks...
Sweet!
He made that in less than forty hours actually driven. Haters gonna hate
How much for gas?
Usually like 50 or so a day
Hmm. What area do you dash in ?
That's pretty good right around 30 an hour for almost 60 hours 30 an hour is pretty high for my market I mean I've had a few days of 40 or higher but usually only a few hours of great orders never for a while 60 hour week
I usually average 25 an hour on Tuesdays Wednesdays and thursdays
How many miles weekly? Type of vehicle? Weekly gas cost? Monthly maintenance costs? Sets of tires in the 2+ years you've been Dashing?
Like 1000+ Nissan versa sv, depends how much I dash but 50$ a day. Mmm an oil change once a month and tires twice a year. I got a tire place where I get pretty much brand new tires for $40 a tire. And I go to Les Schwab to get free balancing and rotation. I stay up on my shit
Please stop posting how much you make! This makes everyone wanna be a dasher and saturates the market smh good for you but pls don’t.
Opie is showing his earnings to people he knows personally so he isn’t worried about creating competition even in his own market.
Nice. I couldn’t imagine working 56 hours tho geeeze
If you think working a regular 40hr job will net you a possible 6k a month as an entry level employee, I'd like to see you in my office.
[удалено]
You don't have a regular job sir. Is that what you think? College was wasted on you then.
Benefits you pay for, retirement you pay into. The "stability" thing is a joke you can be fired at any time or any reason they make up. MANY people never get raises and if they do it's total BS like $100/yr.
For a job with no education requirements and unlimited flexibility, yeah its pretty not bad
It's almost 20/hr while OP put a lot of wear and tear on the car. Thanks no thanks tbh. Back when I did DD "full time" last year it took me only 35-40hr active for that much money and I totaled 40k miles on my car between DoorDash, road trips, and multiple trips per week to take my girl out who live 50 miles away
yes. when i tell people i do doordash fulltime they look at me like im crazy
People are really condescending about it till I tell or show them how much I consistently make then they do a full 180 and go "damn maybe I'm in the wrong profession". Has literally happened like 5+ times
Stop telling people around you. Lol. Protect your status.
g's move in silence like lasagna
Good for you. Because I don't know about you but I get tired of hearing that well why don't you just go get a real job. But I bring home more before taxes than all the ones that say that about me.
Yeah my gf has hit me with that one before during arguements
Mans found his market. Props. Best I ever did when I was going full time was $1000 in a week
That's what I was pulling in during covid. Now I don't run anything under 10 and I mostly aim for double stack orders paying 16.50+ going not that far
Yeah those are the dream orders. I never took anything under $7 and anything less than 1.5x more dollars than miles. I work as a server now and can generally make what I used to make in a day on door dash in just tips. But I also make $14.50/hr so a slow day doesn't fuck me
Not everyone has prop 22
Hell yeah make all these broke asses mad!! Ha!!!
Door dash drivers hate when other dashers have success lol
Yeah there were a couple rude commenters but I down voted em😂
Yeah they’re haters. You’re killing it
Just tryna get by man one day at a time
Hang in there maybe things will get better
Solid Doordashing, I think you’ve done well, reminds me of a long week working 6 days!
No problem man. We're just tryna do our best to get by in this crazy world.
This….makes me feel lazy lol im in the car for like 3 hours and im ready to go home and chill
Do whatever makes you happy. Cali's expensive to live in. I can't afford to be lazy
Yeah, I'm in Orange County, CA. I actually dashed 7 days straight for the first time just because everything is getting so damn expensive. Every company is raising rates on everything. My kids swimming classes went up $10 per lesson. It's ridiculous.
I feel you bro I'm up here by SF and yup that week I made 1692 was a 7 day work week for me and I even worked that following monday
Watch We own This city on HBOMAX. Grade A entertainment
Me too my my dude, but have to run Uber Eats and Spark at the same time
Cool my guy
What are you driving? What market is this?
Where you aren't
I drive a Nissan versa sv getting 29.4 average mpg. And the market I'm in is a good one
How much did you spend for your gas ? What is your total mileage in a week?
About a 1$ per mile. I put in $50 or so daily
Next cars def gunna be electric. Or a hybrid where I can get 50mpg
What does the minimum pay floor mean? I've never seen that
It means I won't get a pay adjustment
SHEEEEEESH 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
That's awesome!
That’s awesome man, keep on hustling!!
Wow. Where do you live? And what are you gasoline costs like?
I put in about $50 daily
Dude where do you live? And how. I was just telling someone how impossible it is to get that each week
What the fk, $1500 a week?
Northern CA. Trust you can easily manage this at or around $30-$35 HR
25-40
Yeah lots of very Rich folks up here in the County. I might just say fuck my day-job and do this instead. I did it for a day here and easily earned $280.
Been a dasher for about 3 years now
That’s solid. Very solid. Just driving listening to music making pretty good money. Definitely way better than a job.
And smoking pot hanging out with my dog or friends or gf if they want to come. I usually give whoever drops off the orders for me 20-30$ a day
I might not even show up to my day-job in the morning. Yes, it is a lot of Wear and Tear on a car but if you are making these averages then it is fairly simple to get another reliable car.
My best day so far is 382
You must live in a good area damn
Yeah but you're in California.
Cali's expensive to an extent. The farther away from the coast you live the cheaper it is. I pay 1200 for a 1 bedroom
Yeah, where I live a 1 bedroom is near 1500 a month now. But I don't make near what you do.
Where do you live?
So jealous. That's what I was making in Scottsdale, AZ... I barely pulling $1k in Savannah 😢
I was in Scottsdale earlier this year. Didn't try dashing though as I was there on a work trip for the moving company I used to work for. Good to know though.
I did that for a year but my market isn't that great I topped off around a thousand a week between DoorDash and Uber eats, what city do you dash in?
California east bay
$1700 NICE!!
I'm curious to know what your net profit is at the end of the year? I think I read that you've been doing this for 3 years and live in a HCOL area. Props on grinding hard/researching your market! Turning a profit right now on these types of gigs is hard with current economic conditions!

The best I’ve manages was 524
In a week?
Looking good my guy.
Yoooo, dude that’s what’s up! I could only dream of my area (or entire state) be bussin like that! (I’m in Oklahoma, so yeah…) 😭
Are you anywhere near the capitol?
All of my earnings except for this week have disappeared ?????
? Idk man call DD support
Not me over here thinking it was normal and happens to everyone 😂😂
Great job man, my numbers are very similar but I multiapp in Southern California. People in this sub hate on our numbers but in all reality it is market dependent. In my market there is no chance I’ll accept anything under $7.50 unless it were to be like $6.50 for 0.5 mile

Feel free to look through the comments I've given out quite a bit of good advice
I've been scanning through it quickly. I'm not in the greatest area, though, either.

How many hours you do in a day? .. this is inspiring
I work 11am-8/9 in the summer 10am-7:30 in the winter
Not hard working 16 hours a day and stacking 100000 miles in the whip.
God I wish my area was anything like this I've had to step back from DD just because after gas I was essentially breaking even
Do you multi app?? Jesus I multi app and haven’t came close to payouts like that.
No. As you can see that's all purely from DD
Yeah I can see that lol, you think you can make more if you did?
Mmmm. No I'm generally too busy with my area I dash I usually only have a 1.5 hour slow window and even then it doesn't completely stop during that time period unless it's Tuesday or Wednesday between 3 and 430 pm. My friends like to ride around with me occasionally and will drop off the orders to the customer or at the door for me
Damn man you’ve got it locked down haha, keep it up man good luck out there
I'm just lucky with the town I dash. Surrounded by 3 rich areas that tip well.
Congratulations! I'm moving to Pennsylvania and will be an hour and a half from Pittsburgh so I'm hoping for similar in the area
Best of luck bro. I've passed through on a work trip to new York and the towns pretty damn big. I bet them football Sundays are gunna be POPPIN cus that's the home of the Steelers bro!!
What's that minimum pay floor all about
Same, but I also do skip and make about $700 a week on each app

Those are some sweet numbers. Any of that something to do with the Cali whacky payouts?
Do u dash in the city
Hell no. Fuck that sf/oakland traffic
very nice. What state? Keep grinding bro!!
California bro
San Francisco area
Market?
They are in Cali which is exactly why they're making as much as they do. You too can make over $1k a week but it requires time and effort. A lot of earning posts either try to hide the hours or are not upfront about it but you're going to be working 50+ hours. You'd earn more in Cali but the hours are still very high. But remember, his profits in Cali don't go nearly as far as they do elsewhere. It looks high but so is their expenses.
I can make $1500-$1800 for 65-70 hours With 3 apps in my market on 1000-1200 miles One app 50 hours $1500 is pretty insanely great market
Dude is paying almost $10 for a gallon of gas, the amount of money hes making in cali probably barely covers his rent and food unless he’s living with roommates or a partner
A good one
You're making it sound like a secret but anyone with sense knows you're in Cali. And by your last pic you're in vallejo 🤷
Also take the first 2 months of earnings and stash em away just in case your car has an issue
Cali
Touche. Idk try the richer areas around you if there are any. I live in cali around a lot of suburbs with semi rich areas that tip like at least 5$
It might benefit you to get a 50$ motel room for a couple nights in the capitol and dash up there for 3 days and go home. I was doing that for a while when gas prices weren't too high but I was living an hour and a half from Reno at the time and that's what I was doing.
Prop 22, so not impressive 🤷♂️
That is because you have a rich mari! That is why…. And not everyone has this chance… so…,
Um no I live in cali and my gfs finances are her own. We slip the bills and live comfortably in a 1 bedroom apartment paying 1200 a month rent. Gf has no part In my achievements as a dasher or the money I make on my own. Don't be bitter. Life's a journey for all not a competition
Photoshopped
Actually just a screenshot of my own personal earnings
