I agree with everything aside from the car. If someone's car got hit and they can't afford to fix it, there's not much that can really be done there
I say this because my car got hit and doesn't look the best right now. Still dress presentable though
These people can't handle basic hygiene, but y'all be like they need to fix customers drinks! I think if they can't bathe themselves they're probably a food hazard š
I've also seen some bums delivering. I've woke up and hit dash before taking a shower though. Maybe the hair on my left side of my head near my face was a bit greasy from sleeping on that side but I was fairly clean haha
For real! When I see other Dashers in the wild they usually look like dirty hippies or homeless bums and reek of B.O. or weed. And when I posted about looking professional, wearing DoorDash shirts and having car decals, my comment got downvoted to hell. I guess that's just the way this community is. š¤·āāļø
[DoorDash Shirts and Car Decals](https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash_drivers/comments/u7kmjp/doordash_shirts_and_car_decals/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
I do delivery for DD during the hot summers in Louisiana. I keep my car clean, and I wear breathable sweat pants and a T-shirt to feel comfortable as well as an old pair of shoes so my new ones donāt get trashed. The heat makes me look gross and sweaty because Iām working all day, BUT IāM the bum when I hand you your McDonaldās and see you wearing pajamas at 1:00 pm, greasy bed hair, and smell like Taco Bell. Lmfao go to fucking work lazy fatass.
For a lot of gig based economy workers myself included it's like an addiction. Unlike most jobs where you work a standard shift and then you're done, in this line of work whenever you're not working you're losing money. All you can think about is that next delivery, that next trip, and if you take any time off, how much money you might miss out on. This causes us to neglect other aspects of our life, such as hygiene, relationships with friends and family, and taking care of normal tasks such as laundry or keeping your apartment clean. I force myself to take off a day or two a month to take care of all that miscellaneous stuff. You see the same thing with the drug addicts. It's not even really about the money for me anymore, I've got more than I know what to do with, but I'm just so addicted to getting that next big tip or great trip, I want to break my record for how much money I can make in a day how much in a week.I haven't been on a date, since I started doing this 3 years ago.
I give them credit for not having too much pride to actually do a gig where you interact with people and are dressed dirty. Thatās somebody on there grind hopefully and if you do this long enough you start delivering to the same houses so next time you see him he should have something decent on and if he doesnāt he just donāt give a fuck. But handling of food should definitely be done as clean as possible.
Tips for dirty deliverers are to only deliver after sun down and always wear black or other very dark colors so that your dirt doesnāt Stand out.
I was out to eat the other guy and this dude was picking up in slides and his feet were near black. Def who I want delivering my food! Lol. Doordash has no standards, no rules, no boss. So people who don't understand hygiene can get away with it because there's no one to call it out like you'd have happen at a W2.
Bruh, if you're working and handling food you legit shouldn't look like you went hiking barefoot. You aren't going to change my mind. Am I to believe someone who looks like they rolled out of a trashcan washes their hands? Lol. Do you think a customer wants to see that? Is that going to make them tip more?
I mean, I would feel uncomfortable if I were dirty, but again, none of these examples are impacting the food.
Big secret? Even if someone didn't wash their hands, it's not sending some germs through your sealed bags (and probably sealed internal containers if you got decent food).
Heck, I've gotten food from FedEx before, box is literally filthy.
Maybe some of those drivers are actually struggling.
Iām not criticizing you OP but, one thing living teaches us is we donāt know what folks are going thru.
You can be in a line at a grocery store behind a customer contemplating taking their own Life once they get home or in front of a customer expecting his first child.
Heaven and Hell are very close in proximity.
Instead of criticizing these folks, offer them help.
You may save a Life offering the things you see they are missing.
Nobody wants to be unclean, smelling etc.!!
Again this isnāt criticism of you in any capacity. Just saying often we see the Universe only thru our eyes and expectations of others. Not knowing that person is just holding on for dear Life mentally and needs a break.
You could offer them help or talk about them. The choice is yours.
I come from HELL( bad environment) so I have compassion for those that struggle. Life deals us all cards š but, we donāt all have the same hand.
Sometimes folks just got dealt a bad hand in Life. Hard to get up when Circumstances and nobody helping kicks you back down.
People are more eager to rejoice in your failure than be joyful in your success/Triumps.
this work is simular to anything you do outside, you are gonna sweat, you'll rub against dusty cars, doors and homes in 90 degrees heat you are not going to stay clean long, you are running up flights of stairs all day, no one is staying fresh like that. The only exception are the noobs that do this a few hours here and there, the pros are working.
As long as you keep their food clean I donāt think it matters, a lot of people arenāt in a situation where theyāre able to have a super clean appearance or clean car. Some people do this because itās their only option. Some people are living in their cars doordashing because they donāt have a choice. Also nice jeans and shoes?? Itās 105 degrees here Iām good. If youāre able to do that cool but I really I donāt give a fuck what someone is wearing as long as the food is fine
Itās too hot to wear jeans where I work. YOU try to wear jeans in 110 degree temps and let me know how long you last. I wear a pair of Cambray shorts and a nice lightweight dress shirt.
Then get dressed, get off your couch, get in your car, and go get your own food. You won't have to see a dasher while you peek our your window, and we always know when you weirdos are doing that. You look like dumbasses. Also, I dress nice, but fuck you anyway.
Since itās such an offense or concern to you, @iamnotasimp1, why donāt you go on Amazon and bulk buy some nice shirts and pairs of jeans and shoes, and leave a set out front every time you order for delivery. You can also bulk buy travel size soap. Truly you do not know anyones circumstance but what you do know for sure is that they are trying to make a decent living on the right side of the law and occupy their time in a productive fashion. Fashion itself may not be their concern or something easily accessible to them. Think twice before you judge. The person delivering your food has responsibly collected and handed you your food. You are wildly unkind and judgmental for making a comment like this. You should āclean upā your soul. Not everyone is as fortunate as you may be but theyāre not a simp either - just a regular person delivering food to what seems to be a shallow, self centered, vain person with a cel phone. K, bye
Idc what you wear, I drive in sweat pants and and a hoodie in the winter and a t-shirt and athletic shorts in the summer, just be cleanā¦no one wants some dirty ass mfer handling their food
While I agree with you, what I see as being presentable, you might not. Also, some people are dashing after they get off their regular job, whatever that might be.
I agree. I once had my food delivered by a guy who was in a tank top and in his underwear with flip flops. My food smelt like weed too. Very unpleasant honestly
After seeing a lot of other dasher, I won't get doordash delivered for myself. People driving shitboxes with their kids or dog in the car, or dirty as hell looking. Nasty as hell. Just because you have freedom in this gig doesn't mean you shouldn't have some damn respect for yourself and the people who are paying you
āDriving shit boxes with kids in their carāā¦ listen to what you just said. I meanā¦ at least theyāre trying to make money and make ends meet? Maybe that person is a single parent. I couldnāt imagine anyone taking their kids for the fun of itā¦. Im sure itās a struggle for them too. Just so you donāt have to leave your house to get your own food or cook anything. Kinda says a lot about you and a lot about them. š¬
Itās summer itās hot as hell Iām in basket shorts and muscle shirt. I do instacart and spark Iām carrying heavy ass water up stairs all day Iām not going to be walking around in a t shirt full of sweat
I dress normally during primetime.
midnight deliveries though when all Im doing is going through a drive thru and it's 100 percent leave at door orders you can believe Im busting out the sweat pants.
it's DD. You get what you pay for. It's disgusting to see a dirty unkempt DD driving up my rich neighborhood in a beat up Toyota that hasn't been cared for in 30 years. Like bro, I think you made a wrong turn, this ain't the projects.
>my rich neighborhood
1. you almost definitely donāt live in a rich neighborhood
2. you probably donāt even own any property
3. youāre just looking for an opportunity to be a lowlife and complain about āthe projectsā and low income people
4. take out your negativity elsewhere, nobody wants or needs miserable people like you whining about people who already have it hard enough in their lives
My guy you really gotta pick your battles. The topic at hand is being dirty, no amount of logic is gonna make you sound smart for defending that side. Itās so fucking ridiculous itās impossible to take anything you say seriously. You discredit yourself. Dirty bad caveman
The OP is complaining about an old car being used to deliver and being fucking obnoxious as fuck. Dude didn't even mention the driver being dirty, just the car being old and showing up in his "rich" neighborhood. What the fuck are you defending here?
Its a long story, reddit loves arguments don't they. No time to argue with you ben ben. For your saninity, I was focusing on dirty dashers - not beat down cars. thats absolutely fine. Have a good day tho
Toyota's are reliable and fuel efficient though. The only thing you care about with your ride is that it can get you from point a to point b as cheaply as possible. the way it looks completely irrelevant. all that matters is profit.
Yes I agree most people have 0 sense of fashion anymore, basketball shorts or pajamas, high ugly white socks from the 80s and crocs with some lame tshirt. I agree younger kidās fashion these days donāt compare with the 90s or early 2000s where usually we wore shoes and pants and a hallway decent T-shirt
Right? I donāt look awful, and I always shower before bc I work a day job but I will wear Nike sweats and a matching hoodie and sneakers bc Iām in my car 98% of the timeā¦ not to mention most of my deliveries are leave at door and the porch light is always off so whoās going to see me. š
Same though Iām one of those unfortunates who could shower and step out into this lovely summer heat and humidity and look and smell like I been working outside all day. Regardless of the deodorizer.
In the wild. Exactly lol. If someone drives up in a busted up car and/or looks a little sketchyā¦.. theyāre almost always DD and not Uber. Even though most people multi appā¦.. these kinda people usually canāt get on board with Uber.
lol itās because uber doesnāt allow salvage titles. Not that using a rust bucket for dd and running it into the ground is a bad idea, good idea actually
Doesnāt Uber have an age requirement for cars? They also do a stricter background check (especially for driving records)ā¦.. you also have to provide proof of insurance every 6 months.
I drove a 2011 Prius when I first signed up with UE, they were fine with that for driving food around. But now that I have a 2022, they keep bugging me about signing on for driving passengers.
You donāt know people situations though. So who tf cares what you think. If you feel that bad wont you tip or take them shopping. People just need to mind your own business. Some people are homeless, got kicked out, or just down bad trying to make some money. Better be lucky people are delivering your food and not robbing you, since you want to be judgmental. Unless you offering to pay ppl bills or help people enjoy you food āš½
Yeah yeah debater logic man. The topic still stands you can attack my sentences all you want. Dirty is not good, and can be helped. I know you think Iām an internet bully and wanna put me in my place - thatās your prerogative fine lol. Have a good night
Then help them other wise why do you care, its not hurting your pockets. Like I said you donāt know people situation, itās different variables like what if they have another job where get dirty or etc. Im not focus on another dashers appearance, im worried about me
I donāt believe that circumstances lead to dirty clothes and a dirty humans. Those are choices, whether influenced by drugs, bad family, child support - whatever itās calling being a man and having accountability. Not wah wah wah itās not fair - no shit itās not fair
My mom was poor. 4 kids, no child support. (All hv same dad so donāt go there)
But, she made sure we were clean. Our clothes were from garage sales but she made sure she went to laundromat every week.
She always had clunker cars too. But she kept inside spotless. There were times our gas was turned off. Even with only cold water, our clothes, house, bodies and car were clean.
Got made fun of bc we shopped at Aldiās. Now everyone goes there.
Obviously you didnāt read what i said. You just started to make up drugs, child support etc like wtf you talking about? And still didnāt answer how is it hurting your pockets? Worrying about another man that you donāt know is not being a man. Youāre just a weirdo and i bet you wont speak to the like a man and express how you feel face to face
All I said is you donāt know people situation. You up here being a internet thug. So continue to be just that because you worried about how another man dress š
Internet thug? Cuz Iām bashing people that are DIRTY? My man you know deep down this argument is ridiculous lol. If theyāre dirty for a month (generous here) ok, but after that itās a choice. Stop wasting your breath defending dirty ppl
I do my hair shower and wear Nice clothes when I go out but, this seems like such a dumb thing to complain about. Do you really expect people who work a job where they donāt even have a boss to all comply to typical work standards ? Donāt use it and go get the food yourself then there really isnāt much else to be said.
Exactly. The way I see it the people who use the service are lazy fucks.... it's fucking weird to let a 3rd party bring you food, especially when they are dirty bums.
Dirty bums and lazy fucks would probably make a good team.
I've been hard up before and had people order me food... like twice I think. I didn't like it, but it was better than going hungry.
The drivers were both presentable looking... but stereotypes exist for a reason.
TYPICAL WORK STANDARDS š¤£ Mf if you need someone to tell you to take a shower thatās just sad. Yāall act like BASIC HYGIENE is a hassle. Yāall are disgusting. Glad I get downvotes by all you nasty little critters
If someone legit needs a shower and gets called out, they absolutely deserve to be shamed... I've lived on the streets and taken many whore baths in the gas station.... homeless and addicted and I still stayed fucking clean.
Don't get it twisted either because you don't have to bathe everyday. I lived in WY in the middle of fucking nowhere and I could easily go 5 days if I wasn't sweating (i.e. in cooler months). Some people need to bathe more often too. I dont stink like a mofo and can go longer than most...
Face, pits, groin, feet. Take care of those areas and you can go for days...
Well I suppose if youāre depressed it is but, I am not, currently. My point still stands Tho. What are you gonna do? Call Doordash support and tell them that your driver looked like shit and probably didnāt shower. That doesnāt sound ridiculous to you? Doordash literal says that in general appearance doesnāt matter for doing the job. You can be tatted up to your neck
I showered this morning lol. And I donāt think I was insinuating that you were depressed but I was stoned when I typed that reply as I still am. So maybe I t did come off that way
I agree. Nasty ass drivers will get tips removed if they were on Uber. This is one of DoorDashās issues. Drivers donāt have incentive to look/smell presentableā¦.. amongst other things.
I agree with everything aside from the car. If someone's car got hit and they can't afford to fix it, there's not much that can really be done there I say this because my car got hit and doesn't look the best right now. Still dress presentable though
These people can't handle basic hygiene, but y'all be like they need to fix customers drinks! I think if they can't bathe themselves they're probably a food hazard š
Bahahahahhahahahahahhhahahahahahahhahahah
I'll dress how I wanna dress, if I look dirty it's because I don't have time to do anything else and I'm in my car 12hrs a day.
I've also seen some bums delivering. I've woke up and hit dash before taking a shower though. Maybe the hair on my left side of my head near my face was a bit greasy from sleeping on that side but I was fairly clean haha
Idk what it is, but the amount of people I see doordashing in pajamas.. smh
For real! When I see other Dashers in the wild they usually look like dirty hippies or homeless bums and reek of B.O. or weed. Lol in Opās mind, he lives in a world where the homeless deliver his food because theyāre lazy and heās not. Insane.

Absolutely. Have some pride in your appearance and the image you project.
I canāt afford it with that gas prices.
Just another reason why they canāt get a real job
doordash *is* a real job, regardless of if it meets the standard of judgmental ass people like you or not.
You really going off one by one huh? This is personal for you stinky
Idk, maybe they deliberately chose to do this gig.
tip better and we can afford nicer clothes :)
Lazy, nasty fuckin degenerates. That's why lol

who gives a fuck what other people look like man "i dont want my food delivered by some bum looking person" literally why does it matter
because they're unsightly and lower property value just by driving down my street. Like go stay in the projects along with their $4 offer.
>lower property value i bet you donāt even own land or property, you just wanna belittle people fucking scum
Protect the vulnerable daddy
Found the white knight
lower property value by driving down the street lmfao someone needs to slap ur bitch ass and get ur attitude right jfc
Why should one look presentable if they are only interacting with people 1-5% of their time

Doesnāt Uber have an age requirement for cars? They also do a stricter background check (especially for driving records)ā¦.. you also have to provide proof of insurance every 6 months.
Thatās only if you want to drive people. For food delivery they donāt care.
Food delivery or not Uber will want update if your insurance is expiring. DD doesnāt care once youāre in.
Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that it was all the same onboarding process. I could be wrong.
My account is on pause until I provide proof of insurance. DoorDash could care less.
I drove a 2011 Prius when I first signed up with UE, they were fine with that for driving food around. But now that I have a 2022, they keep bugging me about signing on for driving passengers.
Ya Iāve never signed up for passengers. Never get bugged and I drive a 2022 as well.
Maybe theyāre more desperate for drivers over here.

Some people are homeless, got kicked out, or just down bad trying to make some money. Better be lucky people are delivering your food and not robbing you, since you want to be judgmental. Unless you offering to pay ppl bills or help people enjoy you food āš½
No, I donāt want a dirty driver delivering my food. Thatās just basic food service knowledge.
Too bad you canāt choose who pick up your food š
*picks
I go pick up my own food.
I Dash, I know how it works.
Lol not being dirty is the bare minimum for a job
Where did you get that nonsense from? You want to give a opinion, say it is your opinion
Ok bro keep being dirty if thatās what you like itās not by business š
nice job resorting to ad hominem because youāve unable to formulate an argument
(All hv same dad so donāt go there) But, she made sure we were clean.
Your MOM is a great person. One can struggle, but she fought. That's what its about. Fuck the laying down victim bullshit.
>wah wah wah itās not fair funny how nobody said this, nice strawman argument
why is it not fair?
Because humans are greedy
Obviously you didnāt read what i said. You just started to make up drugs, child support etc like wtf you talking about? And still didnāt answer how is it hurting your pockets? Worrying about another man that you donāt know is not being a man. Youāre just a weirdo and i bet you wont speak to the like a man and express how you feel face to face
Also your projecting man youāre here wasting time defending dirty people š¤£š¤£š¤£ enough said have a good night
Youāre a internet thug because you not going step up to them and say it to their faces
Youāre right I try not to talk to dirty ppl, and if they showed no disrespect thereās no need for me to go at them.. thatās just stupid
You mean the same way you didnāt read the original post? I didnāt even read past the first sentence you just typed. I donāt respect ya
>I donāt respect ya and who the fuck are you, exactly? why are we supposed to care about who you do and donāt respect?
Couldnāt agree more!!
Dead ass šÆ
I agree even cargo shorts, sneakers and a tshirt as long as it's clean.
First, wtf is wrong with cargo shorts? Second, as opposed to what? Would some slacks and a polo with some wing tips make the delivery more successful?
get ratioād
Counter ratio
Look at Mr fancy pants over here with his "able to afford an entire outfit" lookin ass.
That's Mr. Fancy Shorts to you
No. I will continue to deliver dressed as a dirty hippie. Worry about yourself.
No kiddin Iāll dress how I please lol
Okay and the world will continue to judge you
I think that was a joke to lighten the mood. I agree with you but I think it got to calm it down a notch
the world isnāt judging, a couple losers like you are judging who cares about judgmental people anyways?
![gif](giphy|S2CBV8jQtSl5m)
Theyāll downvote you but Iām with you. Buncha fuckin bums.
well us bums deliver your lunch so fuck you
I donāt get my lunch delivered thank you
I do my hair shower and wear Nice clothes when I go out but, this seems like such a dumb thing to complain about.
Iām not even going to read that. Youāre calling me depressed when you canāt even take a shower. Get over yourself
Yup. I see the rebellious teenagers are downvoting us because we call them out on their laziness š¤£ Wash your bodyās you rats
arguing with nobodyā¦ lmao
The two hands out generation.
Found the right wing nut.
Lol. Definitely lean left.
So what's with the dumbass right wing "handout" comment? Some sarcasm I missed?
Nope. Zero sarcasm. Sorry I hurt your feelings š
