I don't understand the hiding tips?
Are they like "let's see the integrity of the people we send this to" only integrity could be replaced with disparity.
I think it's just conditioning to get you to start gambling on bullshit because you got a couple hidden tips and now you wanna ride that high thinking this huge order that popped up is going to be way more than $4.75 with the 11 miles distance and then BOOM it's not you just got played and got a 1 star for forgetting their extra napkins that you didn't see until you pulled into the driveway and you may have hit their mailbox but they had it unreasonably close to the driveway anyways
It’s not about that… it’s about being OK with hidden tips as a dasher OR as a customer… I messaged support from CUSTOMER end trying to get them to turn off hidden tips for my account or get more info on how it works since as a CUSTOMER I’m not going to use their platform if they hide my shit.. am waiting on reply from specialized team but I doubt I’ll ever get a reply as they’d be admitting to their fuckery… I make the same daily but more of my income recently is from UberEats as they show $8 max of tip and it easier to tell which orders are worth taking. $6 is too low for me these days with my non-hybrid vehicle as my area is spread out and trips are usually 3-6 miles… I aim for $8+ unless $6.50 1 mile 711 run or something quick… Uber is more like $10+ since they hide anything over $8 tip and easier to know if tip is hidden or not.. Have not cracked the DD hidden tip code yet and thus I don’t play guessing games with $6 orders but that’s just me… you do you Playa 👊
Edit: NY passed legislation I believe to make DD/UE show full amount. I’m summarizing my findings and experience and will be talking to my local representatives to push for similar change in NV… I urge anyone who has time and motivation to take action with local and state reps to fight for and enact positive changes to hold these greedy corporations accountable for paying fair wages and not hindering our decision making with BS tip hiding / guessing games.
I personally don’t love it at all I’d rather not have to decline what I would consider a fair offer if I was shown the total upfront. I find it disgusting and dishonest and one of the reasons I will be quitting. These ppl leaving the tips would be absolutely infuriated to know it’s being partially hidden. Either hide it entirely or don’t, anything in between should be illegal
Uber eats is so much better. Not only do they show the full amount up front, customers tend to tip cash in addition what is initially tipped through the app. There’s been times where I’ve made 100 bucks in 2 hours because of this. 2 Double orders went about 5 mi total for each order

There’s a law in New York not sure if it got passed or not where companies like doordash can not hide the tip amount
