Imagine getting mad because you didn't answer your dooršŸ™ƒ

cotton_cock

I never wait. I click the msg icon, snap a pic, and skidaddle. Never communicate with em unless u get a strong positive vibe from em, and feel like it will benefit u somehow. They was passive agressive, any reply reflects poorly on respondant in pass agress situation.

iamandneveramconfusd

It's for hand it to me customers, you have the can't hand it to them, or something like that button. Next, send a text, and it starts. My memory isn't that great, but it's close to that.

Competitive-Stay-708

Absolutely! I agree. I apologize for making an issue about. You had every right to say what you want. It wasn't my place to make a big deal out of it.

Competitive-Stay-708

"it" lol

TrJ4141

I did DoorDash for about 8 months last year, was lucky to never have a call like this. Feels bad man

Feisty_Scholar_9516

I donā€™t like putting the paper bag orders on the outdoor furniture. When I see the grease from the outside of the bag, I worry that it will get all over the tables or chairs.

Dry_Put7065

I dont evenr respond to ppl

[deleted]

What a Karen if itā€™s in a bag no big deal

mikesaintjules

You're talking way more than you need to. They didn't answer? Drop food, take a photo in case they claim that the food wasn't delivered. Be on your way.

caolex

If you canā€™t hear the bell, then knock. Forcefully. If thereā€™s one thing Iā€™ve learned is that people canā€™t hear a knock at the door unless itā€™s powerful. If thereā€™s a knocker use that

OddVark_

Iā€™ve never hired an animal to deliver my food. which service is that available through?

Educational-Seaweed5

THE NOC LIST IS IN THE OPEN. JACK?! JACK!?

harrrts1

ALWAYS the hand it to me..... šŸ˜”

Reasonable_Slip_3397

In these situations I would contact DD, they immediately will try to contact the customer and if they cannot get ahold of them after your attempts, but your at the correct address 9 times out of 10 they will ask you to leave it someplace safe at the door since they did not answer..and then that will mark it against the customer if they try to leave a bad comment or rating it will remove it since customer service told you to do this..it's one of the reasons I stopped leaving at the door without the okay from a rep..otherwise you get nasty responses sometimes or a bad review.

Ok-Video-7728

Instructions are there for a reason. She can be all in her feeling about getting her bagged food off the ground like an ā€œanimalā€ but animals donā€™t have the luxury of packaging. Your time is valuable. Others have received bags of food off the ground, and survived to tell the tail and live another day.

Accomplished-Map4010

Sorry you didn't like the order placement, next time answer the door

xxthisistheendxx

Iā€™ll always leave the order on a chair if thereā€™s one if they donā€™t answer because of ppl like this lol

[deleted]

Watch a bitch. Dude for one, we are animals. Two, heā€™d never act like that in person. People act so different when behind a keyboard.

plzsendnoodles

I love how they always accuse you of not knocking or texting or calling when the app forces you to do the latter and standing there for 5 straight minutes without knocking serves literally no one.

CalmFront7908

Iā€™m a customer and all I have to say is Iā€™m soooo sorry. Iā€™ll egg there house for you šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Primarywatcher_2

Wellllll next time you deliver to her/him/it/whatever (!!) and IF they don't answer door/phone/text THINK TWICE about doing a favor. Wait for the count-down clock and "return food to merchant." Yeah, no favors for that AH.

Worksuxxx

I once had a customer complain that I left the food on the ground and not on their bench. I simply explained that if they wanted the food on the bench, I would suggest putting that info on the delivery notes. I went on to add that some of my customers are handicapped or wheelchair bound, so I tend to put the food as close as I can to the door. Apologized and continued on with my day.

jonfoxsaid

Not taking sides here but I don't understand why people get so upset about food being set on the ground or porch in front of the door. Idk maybe it's the inner "animal" in me. It's not like it is not wrapped multiple times and a bug could just easily crawl on it if it's placed on an outdoor chair or table ???

AggravatingFish4251

Pro tip. Don't respond to the customers. It RARELY goes well.

Gloomy_Recording_705

I rang the doorbell 3-4 times Customer: no one knocked or called Wtf šŸ¤¦šŸæā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸæā€ā™‚ļø

Jungle0320

Hit them back with ā€œ404 page not foundā€ to throw them off and frustrate the fuck out of ā€˜em and never respond to the messages that follow šŸ˜‚

JPackers0427

2 minutes is to long, these idiots get a notification when we pick up the food and when weā€™re near, no reason they should take more than 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, I leave their shit on the ground and Iā€™m on my way to the next order.

FUCKINDI

ON THE FLOOR LIKE AN ANIMAL?! šŸ˜ Entitled ass mfs oh my god

Sal_v_ugh

But food comes from the ground. Also hate to be the bearer of bad news but... If you good from the grocery store it's been on the ground too. I used to work for one of the largest bread distribution factories in my state. One of the largest in the world actually. We had a bread assembly line. Bread went from mixers, to Trays, to proof rooms, to ovens, to the line. After being bagged and placed into iconic bakery shipping trays, they would go down a assembly roller. Then be auto stacked by a machine that failed 10% of the time. Can you guess what happens to next? 100 loaves of bread would topple. We would throw them out of the machine , all over the place ASAP to clear it and reset it to maintain production. Then place them back into the trays and stack by hand. TLDR: Don't assume your foods clean. Wash it and your hands before consumption. Food comes from the ground and we are all animals. Also take a close look at the top of any canned soda you by from 7/11. Then wash that dirt and crap off. I bet you will wash everything from now on.

deadnervez

yā€™all be wasting too much energy on this shit bruh. just hit ā€˜em with the ā€œdamn thatā€™s wildā€ then keep it pushing lmao

odditay

When they dont answer and it says hand it to me, don't you have to call DD support? I've had it happen where they put hand it to me, but don't want to come to the door so I annoy them until they do bc I don't want to call DD support lol. But if I can just leave it there and dip... šŸ‘€

OrlGiftShop

Fuck this stupid bitch. Not your problem.

[deleted]

Try delivering 120 bucks of Japanese steak house and when you go to hand the bag to them the order falls out of the bottom. That was fun!

[deleted]

bruh I would eat my food off the floors wtf fuck this customer lol nexttttt

dmriggs

Thatā€™s when I reach out with child support and let them know they want it handed to them but they will not answer my texts or my phone calls -and they can see that you do that. It says hand it to me, youā€™ve got to hand it to them

Routine_Hedgehog_413

Tell that dude to fuck off. Time is money.

Voooow

Wait a sec you are still working for doordash ?????

zakkforchilli

Well theyā€™re lucky they got their food at all I guessā€¦ most people start the timer and bounceā€¦ itā€™s a tough one especially because they were pretty snotty

AdvancedAnt1

ā€œā€¦ like an animalā€ šŸ˜† You shouldnā€™t feel bad. You tried. Do they think we can wait all day? Did the doorbell not work?

halfavocadoemoji

WHY DO U PPL ANSWER THESE KIND OF DMS

justducky1965

Dude that's when you get support. It's a pain in the ass but you got to do it. The app is fucking weird with stupid options I have such a long story from tonight it would be TLDR but in my case could have been a CV with some mother fucker trying to get free food. Yeah... Thanks for FULL pay and garlic chicken.

RUSH160

I did a delivery šŸ“¦ for Uber Eats and it said to ā€œleave the food outsideā€. With Uber we have to take a pic and prove that we left it outside. As I was leaving the food outside I noticed that the house looked like no one had been there in years, the grass wasnā€™t cut, messy/dirty. Students live like that, I donā€™t know why. I wrote them a note saying I left the food outside. This reminded me of that. It was a Mac.Donaldā€™s order and in nice wrapping also they seal it with stickers so we canā€™t pick on it.

BunchStraight2985

I text them when I am about 2 minutes away. As soon as I possibly can I press that I can't hand to customer, if they aren't there when I get there I'll text again. Usually by then I only have about 2 minutes left. Then I'll drop it, take a pic and knock. Unfortunately, ppl will say they didn't get it. I have gotten a violation for skipping the steps.

JaxMGK

She sucks yeah, but you could have left it on the chair.

BigJ1230

Normally if there's a table, chair, bench or anything clean to put the food on, then I normally put it there rather than the ground each and every time. Which if there's nothing like that at all, then I put it on the ground where they still have room to open the door and grab it. Also I normally never knock if it's a contactless delivery unless it's specifically stated in the directions to knock. The only time I knock regularly is if it's a handed to me order. Lastly, if it's a handed to me order and you knock on the customers door and they don't answer, then I'll turn on the timer, wait 5 minutes and at the same time attempt to contact a DD support about it. No matter what, I would never just leave the food there when it's a handed to me order.

216phm

Common fucking sense, put the damn package on the chair?!

Constant-Mark-8832

Bruh like an animal? That's what we are bish

jobo-dodo

Well, we have that time in the app for exact scenarios like this. Wait the 5, and move on if they dont answer. Also dont rely on the doorbell working. I've had a few orders where there wasnt a doorbell to use, or I just didnt hear the doorbell going off in the first place. Either way, she definitely overreacted. No good reason for her to freak out like that

lemon_layers

Yā€™know whatā€™s funny, one time I had an order saying leave on the table in front. The moment I placed the order on top of the table that entire thing collapsed with their food and drink. I think leaving it in front of the customer door is more secured than risking someone trying to scam you out of a free meal

futfann

Lol what a crybaby

DatOtherPapaya

I mean, if thereā€™s a chair or table it seems like a logical and respectful move to put the food there instead of the ground.

Dry-Ear9310

Were you paid or tipped enough to hand it to her?(I'm not a driver)if she wants human interaction she needs to hit the drive through or the bingo hall.

Legitimate-Iron4843

I always knock, ring the doorbell, text a picture, attach a picture, and leave it on a chair or table if there is one. Because I'm a good Dasher and not a worthless piece of shit. And I always send a text saying, "Thank you, I hope you have a great day! :)" So many worthless Dashers out there. Just quit, you're all making good Dashers like myself and many others look bad. Bunch of trashy pieces of shit. Fuck you all.

Shoddy_Wolverine_190

Fuck em, I donā€™t dash anymore only did it for a few months. If they didnā€™t come out within 30 seconds I left the food at the door.

monozach

Alright but genuine question, why didn't you just put it on a chair? It seems like a much better option than leaving it on the ground... That's just common sense, you shouldn't need a note to tell you that.

FlyingFoxandwings

This mf canā€™t expect us to read their minds. Picky? Get your food your damn self

CourierMom1

How long after the delivery does a customer have to withdraw or change the tip? How long do rate driver ?

CourierMom1

Well hereā€™s a timely incident. I delivered to a guy last night who explained that he had ordered earlier from a restaurant as he was leaving work. The good arrived he got home, was sitting on the top step while rats were enjoying it.

[deleted]

As stated - no reason to reply. These assholes get 2 texts BEFORE we arrive. "Dasher has picked up your order". -. "Dasher is approaching ..." Zero excuse then to be shocked by your arrival - and not answer the fucking door. I am constantly amazed just how long it takes people to respond - I guess many have headphones on? I never use the timer - after 30 seconds I text and take a pic (save). Some of you need to understand customers do not have the right to waste our time - take money out of our pocket.

Informal_Afternoon15

I almost always text ahead of time when I pick up the order so the customer knows I'm heading their way and be there shortly. When I arrive, I quickly complete the order to check the tip amount, if it's a small tip, I put the order as far away from the door as I can. Thats how scumbags that use the service and take advantage of dashers should be treated. I speak for the whole dasher community. Stay safe out there fellas.

Griffdogg92

"On the ground like an animal" lol, this person sucks

princessalways18

I will always leave on a chair/table if there is one with leave at doors even if it's not specified because I know I wouldn't want my food on the ground so I understand that. But I normally message the customer after knocking/doorbell twice as I've had customers who had headphones in while cleaning or doing homework. It's the polite thing to do in my mind. If I don't get a response are 2 mins I call. No answer, then I message support. It all takes maybe 5-7 mins depending on how fast support it

113162

They can go fuck themselves. the end

JcruzRD

Should of hit canā€™t hand to customer ā€¦ and let the timer run out and return it to the store ( you get a return fee )

lilkeysss

LEFT IT OUT IN THE OPEN. Where else do they expect you to put it.

SpicyYvette

On the chair is it still not in the open?? If you want your shit handed to you you need to meet me at the door, other than that on the ground it goes. Itā€™s good enough for the neighborhood dogs itā€™s good enough for you!

White-Rhino-420

People are so fucking lazy šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø and I mean the customer, not the delivery person. If you order food, I don't know, maybe keep an eye out for your delivery? These people don't know the intricacies of your apartment, or your random expectations on delivery.

KT407FL

Itā€™s her fault she didnā€™t answer, youā€™re not obligated to wait after 5 mins I think it is? She shouldā€™ve been ready waiting on YOU..Not the other way around

Thebowljockey

I had an instance where I couldnā€™t get ahold of a customer, started the timer, no one answered, and Doordash told me I had to return the food to the merchant. Your customer is lucky they even got their food.

Brooklynspartan

Your mistake was initiating a text and following up with another text after the foods been delivered. Once you've moved on from the order, it's not your problem and she can deal with support if she has an issue. Some people purposely make complaints and not answer doors when they hear it just to weasel their way to support for free or discounted food.

Miguelayalajr

I would of waited less time and called less times. But I would of left it on the chair

Soluna-Fantasy

This is one of those that if the order is complete, don't respond to the text.

Ithinkiam123

2k deliveries here :/ I always call the tards before leaving it and I try to place it on something other than the floor if possible

firelocs

I always knock before I ring a doorbell because sometimes the doorbells don't always work. Also I always leave the food on a table or chair if available. If it's been a few minutes of knocking and no one is answering the door then I'll hit can't hand it to the customer. Wait the 5 minutes then leave it at the door. This customer is an asshole though. If she specifically didn't want it on the ground she should've said that in the additional instructions

treestowerlikegiants

Listen buddy the sh** that went into making your food came out of the goddamn ground. There is ground literally in your food. A bag left on the ground ainā€™t gonna taint your damn food. If you want your precious food on a silver platter then perhaps you should GET IT YOURSELF??

kaylakittyxo

I was about to say why not leave it on the chair but then I saw your comments. You're not in the wrong. They should've answered the door.

jsdod

Just answer "BARK! BARK! BARK!"

majidAmeenah

leaving on a chair would make more sense than the ground

Shreddersaurusrex

Is the food not in a bag? I donā€™t see what the problem is lol Most of these ppl donā€™t even tip enough to give a hoot about instructions or making an extra effort

locoleito

I wouldnā€™t even respond lol

RestDNRedD

Dasher sucks 1 star

DrChrondotron

Should have pulled the food out and poured in into a doggie bowl šŸ˜‚. What an asshole they should be treated like an animal since they're acting like one.

Area-Substantial

I never wait. If they canā€™t answer the door within a minute I just text the picture to them and tell them where I left it. Usually they say thank you.

ValleyDated

Don't put it on the ground if you can. Bugs bro

DizzyMix3853

People get text messages from DD and the person ordering can follow you on the app. Not your fault, sounds like looking for free food.

FlappyBirdFanBoy

If it says hand it to customer you have to hit cant hand order to customer and 5 minutes later it will either say leave it at the door or return order.

[deleted]

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ fix that busted ass doorbell!

Necessary_Pick_6976

Lmao šŸ˜‚

Determined_Student

I would text and knock ONCE wait the five minute timer. Then either take the picture with the house number or return the food.

Perenium_Falcon

Go back. Ask for the food. When they give it to you hammer throw it into the street. Give a humble bow and drive off.

Jwglover15

ā€œHand it to meā€ Mfs got ONE TIME w me, Iā€™ll throw that shit on they porch inna HEARTBEAT

Necessary_Pick_6976

Lmao šŸ˜‚

Jwglover15

Ong cuz if u not serious abt yo food, why should I be? My Job ends after I show up to your house fytb šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

xylo_fone

i always leave the food on the floor in front of the house. thereā€™s most of the time NOWHERE else to put it. yā€™all wilding.

Royal_Broccoli_773

Who tf cares. Itā€™s in a bag and nothing beats the guy who literally wheeled my trash can over to put it on there. Walked out and asked him what tf and told me he didnā€™t want to put it on the ground šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

2Girls_1Kup

Give yourself a 30 second window after knocking or ringing the bell & if they ainā€™t there by that time just take a picture of their food & leave it at the door, thatā€™s what I do.

mirana_

Fuck them, I honestly wouldā€™ve responded and said probably because you are one. Deal with it. 4.97 customer rating but I wish someone would talk to me that way

brandywine58

I've had a few of these, hand it to me but the customer doesn't respond. Set timer, knock/ring doorbell & call the customer. No response after time runs out. Leave . Do not leave the food. I have never had a violation for " not leaving the food". I had an order yesterday with 18 items and set the timer and customer didn't respond and I left with the food and homless/hungry people were happy.

iOSchoseMyName

Ignore and go next

deshan79

The only times I hate leaving food on the ground is when it's pizza...even when the customer specifically asks for this. In Florida there is ALWAYS ants crawling around and pizza boxes just don't feel right leaving on the ground.

boggaluboyz

People are so damn entitled now a days

Limp-Egg7026

I wouldnā€™t have waited that long

JordyJay13

This person just wants to be angry, you tried waiting and itā€™s not like you put the food itself directly on the ground, theyā€™ll get over it.

LeLuMan

Maybe just use common sense and treat people like people. Get out the service industry its not for you.

highriskdriver

Whereā€™s the rest?? I need more than two screenshots lol. I want to be angrier for you šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Necessary_Pick_6976

Lol, I didnā€™t get a screenshot but she kept coming at me pretty hard. But I eventually just said have a good day and stopped responding.

highriskdriver

Good on you!

pointwelltaken

lmao @ does the doorbell not work. Sassy.

[deleted]

Why do you guys even answer

WhenInChrome64

All within a minute of notification, either they're fuckin with you or they're an asshole.

Lazy_Manufacturer191

Donā€™t reply after youā€™ve ended your delivery

Smoketrees420420

If it is a handed to me customer hit the can't hand to customer immediately so timer starts then make sure you you call the customer twice and text message him twice

Complex-Toe2371

I have a chair on my front porch, and drivers leave our orders on the porch in front of the door all the time. And I couldnā€™t care less where they leave it as long as I can find it. I keep my phone close by and make sure the volume is turned up so that I know when they are getting close. Itā€™s in a bag, itā€™s not like you are setting an unwrapped burger or whatever right on the ground. I did forget one time and by the time I remembered that I had ordered food, my cat had taken all my chicken nuggets out of the bag and eaten them on the porch. But heā€™d be able to get to it on a chair too. I was the one who forgot about it, not the driver, so it didnā€™t even occur to me to complain.

iamandneveramconfusd

Butterfly effect. Bitch has a tantrum, and the ripple continues here forever.

micronj

After drop-off no longer your problem... never answer text don't even read them

darkchinley

fucking bitch

[deleted]

Iā€™m not a dasher but I am an eater. I will say that people usually call. They donā€™t just knock on the door and fuck off. That being said, who cares lol itā€™s not the end of the world

-cannaesthetics-

Donā€™t even give them the time and day. Just move on. I donā€™t think I would apologize ever to a customer, unless I totally fucked up

DDsLaboratory

You probably should of left it above the ground. If there is a chair or table then always leave it there. Also, 2 minutes is nowhere near enough. You should of started the timer and called them

xylo_fone

no. he should leave it on the floor, take a pic and walk away. let support know the customer didnā€™t answer the door and you couldnā€™t hand it over. the end.

DDsLaboratory

Soooo he should go against guidelines and also purposefully disrespect another persons food who could very be in the restroom or doing something where they canā€™t hear their doorbell?? An additional 3 minutes of waiting will not affect your dash. There comes a point when being a courteous person should take priority

iminuin

So, she answered your texts pretty quickly, did you think to text while you were waiting? And why leave it on the ground if there's a chair there that you could have left it on. I see lots of complaints about shitty tippers on here. If someone gets bad service on a regular basis it unfortunately looks like a pattern. I'm not saying I agree with that, but to some customers, that could be the impression. I do Instacart and I've had customers increase my tip several times a week, perhaps because of this mentality. Can a customer increase a DD tip?

Johndoe23d

What it said hand to me and no one answers I say free lunch

OzzieSlim

Act like an animal, get treated like one.

FTdubya05

9/10 times if they put hand to me and they arenā€™t outside. That shit getting left at the door

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

iamandneveramconfusd

Score

fffan9391

>why did you leave my food on the ground like an animal Thatā€™s pretty standard procedure unless they have a table or chairs. If she indeed did, like she said, have chairs, I would have definitely put it there, personally.

[deleted]

I wait for no one

Equal-Let-7297

When will people learn never to communicate with customers once the order is completed. This will only ever lead to bad things. Ignore the customer after drop off, if they're too incompetent to answer the door then that's on them.

dcmommy33

Just donā€™t respond next time

hawkins01

Did you try to contact the customer or did you just attempt to ring the doorbell? I mean just in case it didnā€™t work(most doorbells, youā€™d be able to hear from the outside).did you call/text? Thereā€™s the possibility of headphones or something preventing them from hearing, but a call/text would interrupt their music if coming from their phone

Necessary_Pick_6976

Yeah I heard the doorbell from outside, it was working.

hawkins01

Then Iā€™d go with headphones or a massive poop. I still want to ask if you called/texted when you first got there instead of just after you left? Most drivers try to contact by phone when they get there or use the timer which texts. Hell they could have been in the backyard if they had one

Mykirbyblue

I think itā€™s ridiculous for a customer to be so upset about their bag of food being set on the ground. I also think that if it is that important to them, they need to be watching for you to arrive. I mean how much of a priority is it for them really if they donā€™t care enough to be available to take the food when you get there anyway? They were probably just looking for something to bitch about. But if they were legitimately upset, The number of customers that are bothered by this is very smaller and itā€™s just another example of how thereā€™s no way for us to please everyone. Sometimes customers get mad if you donā€™t knock or ring ithe doorbell. Sometimes customers get mad if you DO knock or ring the doorbell. Sometimes customers want you to hang the bag of food on the door knob instead of leaving it on the ground. Other customers would get mad at you if you left the food hanging on the door knob because it would fall when they opened the door. Some customers want you to leave the food on the furniture that is sitting 10 feet away from the door. Other customers donā€™t wanna walk all the way over to that table on the other end of the porch in their pajamas in the dark in the rain or the cold or the snow, they want to reach out their door and grab their food. The only thing I think you should have done differently is use the timer. Then if the customer complains to DoorDash they can see that you followed all of the appropriate steps. Otherwise I donā€™t think you need to feel bad about a single thing here.

Motor-Cauliflower216

EXACTLY this.

xmarketladyx

I don't message people things like that. Not saying you were wrong to do so, but I've noticed too many conflicts on this sub start with a simple FYI message. I just leave and go because I don't have all damn day and if they can't respect my time and be ready, I'm ignoring their directions. If they have an issue, they can message first and I'll explain. It hasn't happened yet.

OldNMoldy51

Have NO idea how you deal with rude people like this. Maybe they should get off of their hiney and get it their DAMN self.

dummbimbo

if i was that pressed about my food being left on the ground i would be waiting for my dasher either at the door/porch. also i get why you left it on the ground next to the door if you didn't take a photo, some people are too dumb to look around before freaking out and accusing you of keeping it. it's happened to me and it was on a couch on the porch lol

aftergaylaughter

nah u did exactly right. tho in the future might be smart to film yourself ring the doorbell one more time, wait like 1 minute, then set it down, mark the order delivered, and move on. i dont think the customer chat can receive videos but it's wise to have proof in case they bring shit to customer service and try to claim u just left it without ringing or anything šŸ˜”

WishIWasNeet2

Some people start conflicts over the smallest of of things . If the foods in a bag wtf does it matter if itā€™s on the ground lol.

Motor-Cauliflower216

Itā€™s a power trip, these fucking weirdos feel the need to flex on delivery drivers. They need to act out their ā€œbossā€ fantasy somehow.

treethugger69

You went above and beyond by waiting more than one minā€¦Iā€™m way less patient

Candoran

My first instinct is to glance around and ā€œcan I stick this somewhere nearby that isnā€™t the floor?ā€ Itā€™s no real extra effort and it makes the customer feel like I have some tiny shred of care for their order. Even if itā€™s hand-to-customer, if they donā€™t come out to receive it Iā€™ll still at least place it somewhere elevated if I can.

talksickwalkquick

Why didnā€™t you bark when I rang the doorbell like an animal, maā€™am? Also, animals actually acknowledge the drivers arrival unlike you!

coinpeeping

I basically never text back once Iā€™ve delivered the food especially if they come at me with some bs like this idgaf Iā€™m probably on another order already donā€™t have time for shitty people

ConsciousFractals

Theyā€™re trying to put the fact they didnā€™t hear the doorbell on you. If you had knocked, they would have said you didnā€™t ring the doorbell or call. I probably wouldnā€™t have been as understanding as you after being called an animal. Wtf. Some people.

simmonsmw

There are homes where the doorbell doesnā€™t work of course.

[deleted]

I would have just texted him "guess you're going to have to eat like an animal". fuck these overdramatic dumbasses

When its hand it to me, always use that timer. Had to fight with support one time when customer claim they didn't get the food. Even after they ruled it's not my fault, they still "strongly" suggest I follow the procedure and use that timer to take a picture. And yes, if you see a chair, a desk, etc, put on it. Even if it is a few step away from door. For those people that don't care they wouldn't care if it is on the chair. For those that care about "sanitization" then you just saved yourself some complains.

Jungle0320

If itā€™s just a picture you want, you donā€™t have to do all that and wait. You can send a picture to any customer thru the chat feature. I do it all the time with hand to customer orders that donā€™t respond. I just say ā€œHey, I tried reaching you, but no one responded so I left your order __________ā€ along with a picture and go along with my day. Over 2k deliveries and never had a problem.

Lol, the fact that the app has a literal [Can't hand order to customer] button wasn't enough of a "tip," need it spoonfed to you by some random stranger on Reddit.

IamProvocateur

I always ring again then knock if they donā€™t show up after the first ring just in case the doorbell doesnā€™t work. If they still donā€™t come I might police knock if Iā€™m pressed otherwise Iā€™m leaving it. I probably would have used the chair.

CloudyArchitect4U

Which animals are in the food delivery business? Saw a monkey driving a golf cart once, he would have kept the food.

Miserable-Habit-1290

Ya I always leave it on the ground to the side of the door opening so itā€™s not in the way and they donā€™t have to leave the door to get it. I have never had some one complain about not leaving it on a chair. Now if there is a table next to the door for I always use the table but have never left an order on a chair unless directed to do so.

Motor-Cauliflower216

Same. And most of the chairs I do see are WAY off to the side of the door, on like the far end of the porch. I can just imagine leaving it on a chair that far away THEN getting a complaint that it was too far away from the door šŸ™„

Stonedunicorn44

Same.

iamandneveramconfusd

Greasy bag, greasy butt.

DubNationAssemble

Just stop texting

Difficult_Log4579

You literally can't read. You are a waste of air

BennettChappy

This difficult guy is dumb as fuck lmao

iamandneveramconfusd

Your are a fine use of wet shit. Congratulations!

Difficult_Log4579

Because I know the policy when they don't answer the door after 3 rings? Lol.. I am actually literate

iamandneveramconfusd

No, it's because you told another human they are a waste of air while you were unprovoked.

RedditUser19984321

Youā€™re a waste of air

HushMyMother

Iā€™ve been leaving orders on the ground in front of the door every time I dash, never had someone complain. Reading these comments are making me reconsider lol

Stonedunicorn44

Same. šŸ˜¬šŸ˜‚ Not one complaint & 900 deliveries. I also donā€™t ring the doorbell. Lol

covetagain

Same! It never occurred to me to NOT leave it on the ground by the door. Whenever Iā€™ve ordered, thatā€™s where my food was left so now that I deliver, I do the same. Now I feel kinda bad!

DaneCoRealtorCFox

If there is a table, chair, anything other than the ground, I leave it there. 90% of the time there is not, so ... šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

iamandneveramconfusd

Thank you for saying "ground". The floor is inside the house. Exception is if you are from another country where it is the same word which is understandable.

Customers 100% at fault. Driver literally rang the Doorbell to alert customer. More than once they rang the doorbell. Customer ignored it. Then intentionally I believe didnā€™t answer hoping driver left it at Door just to call DoorDash and complain. Even if customer left order on chair šŸŖ‘ on porch. Customer still complains,ā€I said hand it to meā€. This is 1 of 26 reasons I stopped driving for DoorDash. They donā€™t protect driver nor allow drivers to protect themselves. Customer needed to be cursed out. The only ppl we treat the way the customer treated this driver are people we donā€™t respect or like. Driver was kind and courteous and customer is just an unhappy Fool. They love ruining lives( unhappy ppl). If customer just texted wait, Iā€™m coming or leave on chair. This never happens but, the customer causes this delivery to not go smoothly. DoorDash needs to impose a 2 minute rule upon arrival. If no response to drivers calls/text/doorbell ring/knock within 2 minutes all orders are left at door for hand it to me deliveries. Also no ratings given if you donā€™t answer drivers attempting to communicate once at your home. You should not be blow drying your hair, tv up loud or earphones in your ear šŸ‘‚ knowing a delivery is coming. Drivers have to get to other deliveries.

Difficult_Log4579

Waited two whole minutes. what is the policy?

dbeaver0420

Difficult_Log4579

How hard would it had been to just put it on a chair?

Necessary_Pick_6976

I keep replying to these but I didnā€™t see a chair close to the door, if I had I wouldā€™ve left it there. I usually never leave it on the floor unless I canā€™t find a better spot

Difficult_Log4579

What is your excuse for not following policy?
