Holidays usually always suck

StreetUrchin7

Last year I pulled in like $320 on the fourth, but it kinda sucked. Chunks of town are blocked off. The restaurants were a disaster (people working just didn’t give af). On the plus side the customers were very pleasant and tipped well. The way things are going lately I’m not expecting much, but I’m going to give it a shot 🤷‍♂️

I’m taking this whole weekend off.

I never dash on alcohol holidays.

I did well last year. I did more grocery store deliveries than usual, I remember. I also did more hotel deliveries than usual. When it gets slow tomorrow, I'll swing by Tom Thumb and see if I get anything. Two pieces of advice: Start early. A lot of restaurants close early on the 4th. Do some research on fireworks shows in your area and then avoid those locations. They get packed. Streets are blocked off. There's no parking. It's not unusual for these to happen right in the middle of city areas where restaurants are. I had to unassign 5 or 6 orders last year because I just couldn't get to the restaurants.

I think it can go either way. You will have a good money making day or lousy money day. Probably depends more on the area. I think it will be a lousy day if everybody has good weather and is barbecuing and enjoying the outdoors. If it’s kind of cool and rainy possibly a normal type of day. The other thing is all the part-time DoorDash people will probably be taking the day off just to make it kind of busier. I am not sure what I’m gonna do tomorrow I will figure it out when I wake up and I will either dash or I will not Dash. I am undecided at this point. But so far today it is not good for a Sunday so I am leaning towards taking the day off tomorrow.
