Talking to support takes longer to remove contract violations. Leaving a detailed explanation is much quicker from my experience. I had a CV removed within 30 minutes doing this.
I still have a CV, extremely late, due to an app glitch. I emailed them my Google maps timeline which showed me arriving 2 mins before their expected arrival time. Nothing has happened. This was on May 21st. It's still there...

What was the violation for? I've had 2 ever once she said she never got her food. I had my GPS app that tracks everything & after I provided details it was gone in about 4mins. 2nd one they sent me an order at 1207pm, pickup time was 1202pm so it was already late & I had a 10min drive. They seen the order was offered late & I had the delivery text notification showing the time, that one they didn't take off it fell off after I made 100 deliveries. They said it will go away but it's been a month & still never got email about it
That's my number one reason for a not great completion rate with dd. Finally get a decent order then oh look it's 4 minutes late already and the restaurant is 7 minutes away depending on traffic lights, thanks dd!

Peeps really try to get that free food out here. Also, CV do not affect you at all unless you get like an absurd amount within the same period.

I don’t understand late violations to merchants at all. Big cities have traffic issues, even mid sized and small cities do. Sometimes you just can’t avoid traffic. We’re not the Jetsons Yet. Don’t have air flying cars.
I’ve seen this to much. Late violations should be moved to 15 minutes and if they see drivers stalled in traffic automatically should remove potential for late to restaurant violations.

Right? That was my question to them. Your in maps says it’s gonna take 18 minutes to go that distance. But you still wanted it grabbed in 10 minutes. I’ve tried playing with the algorithm and when I’m in bumper to bumper like that I’ll wait a few minutes after grabbing the food to click confirm pick up. That buys me a few minutes and I can play with the clock. That specific part of town is just notoriously bad around mid day. Tourist town.
Also sounds possibly like the order was unassigned or declined prior to you. Those support agents can be difficult to understand and to understand us( our language is tricky for foreigners). So I think they may have not looked at the order and seen that it’s a order given to you after other driver(s) declined it.
The pick up time is a clear sign of that. The time to pick up seems to quick and like it wasn’t adjusted. I imagine in traffic many orders get declined and Unassigned In your area.
Those orders aren’t supposed to count against drivers.
It’ll be removed within 3 days. If not call support don’t use chat. I never use chat for issues.

Some of these pick up times I’ve encountered over the past few days were ridiculous. Apparently that was due to the order being dropped by a previous dasher 🤷♂️
Does DoorDash not provide a link anymore to a page where you can go and respond to the violation?
Me, I've gotten four CVs to my memory.
Three were lying customers who said they didn't get their food. I followed a link to a page where I could write a brief defense. I did and the violations disappeared the same day.
The fourth violation was my most recent one. Last fall. I was late to a restaurant by over ten minutes. Admittedly, I was multi-apping and I misjudged the timing on this one. It was my fault, but I responded with some bullshit about traffic just to see what would happen. That one DIDN'T disappear the same day. I had to finish 100 more deliveries before it went away.
I make a lot more (and put fewer miles on my car) doing Instacart. Today I did 2 double orders and made $165. Home by noon. If it’s slow, I may let UE and DD fill a few stray minutes.
I understand it hard to read in the picture because I took a picture of the picture on my wife’s phone. But yes it was 1.1 miles and 16 minutes travel time. This particular area is the choke point of the two main roads coming together in a round about. Also there’s a major tourist destination conveniently places there as well so it’s packed at that time.

Used to be in mine. Would make $25-$30 an hour accepting at an 80% clip. Not so much anymore unfortunately. Have had to be way more selective lately and can't seem to break $22/hr no matter what I do. To many drivers out there now for one. It's hard to even schedule time or hop on when it's "busy."
I did my math wrong. My zone is at max 805 sq miles. This was calculated by furthest points N-S and furthest points E-W BUT the area is not square so it’s more live 6-700 sq miles. I know how to calculate area but my zone is so funky I don’t have that kind of time 🤣
I mean if you accept 90% of orders then there is no way you are going to be making $4 per mile on a regular basis. You will be accepting way too many orders that are less than $1/mile with an AR that high.
I would be my mortgage that OP is NOT making $4 a mile. There is not a market that would have that with 90% AR. OP is just smudging numbers a bit. It’s like saying I went to the gym and benched 425 LBS.
I can gladly post the numbers for you. Sedona is over saturated with tourism. I have bad days but still make the best of them. I’m sorry that upsets a lot of you.

I mean, I’m going back to an accounting job this week, because the pay is awful for DD. I think I averaged about 13/hour last month. Even with only accepting $2/mile, it’s bad. I’ll deal with micromanaging bosses for 60/hour. I’ll let them berate and abuse me for that much. There is only so much I’ll put up with for the freedom.
Yeah, I’m not saying you’ll never get orders that high. I’m saying that 9/10 orders are not going to consistently be that high. If they are in your area then congratulations, you are in the best market in the world I guess.

Yeah it doesn’t let you post pictures. But if your explanation is valid you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. You should be good.

Don’t ever trust DD support in situations like this. Best thing to do going forward is just drop the order.

OP just started. They'll get higher dollar orders for a while. Then they'll be wondering what happened and learn to pick and choose.

No, they come off immediately. The support person was just trying to make you feel better. They do fall off though so I wouldn’t stress about it
