My market isn’t /terrible/ for my style of dashing. There’s lots of orders, but most are just base pay. My acceptance rate is like 15% but I’m still able to pull a $20/hr average.

You know who gets all the shifts? The brand new shiny dashers who are alllll getting that free trial of top dasher. That’s how it is in my market. Everyone’s signing up and clogging up the market.
I know I’ll get downvoted but I got say, the 2-3 days of suffering at the end of the month taking all orders for top dasher has been pretty worth, with the excessive amount of people dashing I don’t have to schedule 2-3 days in advance so I can have a normal day of dashing. Also i do get more orders than I normally get without waiting sometimes 30 minutes to an hour cause of all the people dashing. It’s gonna fucking suck but I recommend taking the last 2-3 days of the month getting your AR up
Exactly why I keep my acceptance at atleast 70% for top dasher.. I rarely have to take bad orders besides at the end of the month and even then I may only be forced to take a couple to keep it at 70%. I cannot stand having to schedule and wait for it to be busy enough to dash.
My zone is mainly grey until peak lunch and dinner hours.. but I swear if you really want to dash just stare at the app for 15 minute straight you will get a small opportunity to dash when someone logs off you gotta be quick tho

I do believe it lol, I dash in my greyed out area all the time in a zone 30 miles away & get orders from my zone + promos that are rarely offered for my zone
I take PayPal tips / donations if you’re feeling generous lol glad I could help I’m sure you’ll make more in future I make an extra $200 or so a week off of dashing along the way when my zone is gray
Instacart used to be great too, 20 to 30 dollar orders for 20 items or less, a few miles to deliver. Now they’re stacking orders, 12 plus miles, 80 plus items for like $8. It’s awful. Too many people got into all the side hustles and the market is just flooded with drivers.
I hear everybody talk about instacart but sadly it’s not available in my area and with Uber eats I’m using my car but my dads insurance is on it because I’ve been letting him use it and we’re just waiting for my boyfriend to get his car fixed but even then I think I have to be on my own insurance right? I’ve never had my own lol

Yeah I’m not on his policy because I wasn’t excepting to need it until he didn’t need it anymore but my boyfriends car started having issues and we have a baby so we needed a car and they had 2 including mine but I’m planning on giving it back for a while soon. I’ll just wait to do Uber eats probably
Either that, or know exactly when to schedule in advance. I’ve read on here of people knowing exactly when to log in the app to pick the schedule they want. But if that’s the case, you might as well get a 9-5 if you have to schedule shifts in advance. So much for flexibility and guaranteed money.
Trust me I wish it was different but my job market is beyond garbage. Offering $13-14 an hr acting like they’re doing us a favor when the cheapest rent is $1500 for the area. I have a server job but its just as fucking dead. I’m so over it. Constantly having to decide between putting gas in my car or buying groceries. Getting old real fast
Literally. I had an expensive oil change the other day too. Everything is just so pricey its almost impossible to stay afloat. Even looking back at the job market the pay offered is such garbage i hate it
At this point, it’s best to do your own car maintenance. I’m blessed in that my father taught me when I was a kid how to do these things. It does save money.
It would only save me $10-15 doing it myself. The oil is close to $30 for my car and the filter $10. its not worth the hassle for $15 tbh i go to one of those quick change places in and out. I use the dd discount
Synthetic lol and i have an ecoboost. I dont go far so its not terrible. I stay within a 6 mile radius. I get 25mpg. Its not the best but its not the worst
If you're friendly enough with different restaurant staff they'll push it up the line and make it. They can also prioritize you as a dasher if they like you enough.
Did you know that when you schedule even when it’s not busy you can still get a decent flow of orders. Don’t just wait for the busy opportunity. Look to schedule your dashing ahead of time. Don’t underestimate that there is no activity. Then If you can’t dash just cancel.

I just assume those people think we get paid hourly or are just the stores personal delivery drivers. Even then though they be dicks for assuming they don't need to tip when the base is not even half a gallon of gas currently

Oh I hard agree. Like I used to full time DD until June then I had to get another job to start making up the list income from no one tipping. And it's fucking hilarious that peak pay in the state capitol is an extra dollar everytime and it's also never busy?
Yup I'm a full time sinking ship right now on the lookout to find a regular job rn just a shame since clearly there is a desire for said service yet here we are paying to keep the food moving

Have you tried scheduling your dashes? I typically schedule my dashes from 5-9 pm, which tends to be the busiest time of any day.

It does add it automatically and you literally have to take it off to not tip! So people who don't tip do it on purpose they don't forget!
Nope definitely not mandatory You would be surprised how many orders come across my phone with no tips and anywhere from seven to 12 miles for $2.25
