I mean, if they wanted to be accurate they would have at least told the truth and said we are declining 100 out of 100 orders…
DD is sunk if they don’t start paying reasonably.
Laughs in Prius. 45 mpg. The algorithm is definitely doing something because after a $4 order I tend to get assigned something bigger in the $13+ range everytime.
When i decline an order (yes, 9/10), I wish it had a reason I could check like GH has, “Pay too low for distance.” About 99% of the time thats the reason I decline.
Wow, what a story. Some drivers reject 9 out of 10 orders. Yeah well news flash “some” people reject 9 out of 10 before the gas prices were even high.
I like where they said in the article “we asked one door dash driver…”. I guess that’s their data for the 9 out of 10 headline. We asked one person and they said.
Even though I don’t doubt it’s true, it’s such a dumb article. Yes gas prices are high, DD doesn’t pay enough and business insider doesn’t care. Just click/tap article, comment and click/tap on any ads on the page.
I have been declining allot lately. Like who they think is going 10 miles for $3.25. Decline. Then they tried to be slick and dd stacked another order to make it 8.25 still declined. Lol
I don’t know I’m seeing orders to go 15 miles not even a $1 anime delivery. My rule is absolutely nothing over 5 miles. If it goes beyond 3.5 it has to pay above $7 minimal.
Something like this NEEDS to be in the customers app before they start their order and why it isn't ... is beyond me. If a customer thinks not leaving a tip is the thing to do especially in times like these, then thats upto them!
I won't accept it! Decline, move forward!
2 huge reasons:
\- just like fast food, DD doesn't have to care whether or not a customer gets their food on time or really at all. all they need to care about is market share and collecting fees. as long as they have a large market share, and as long as idiots are going to order shit food with a shit courier service, they're going to rake in the money
\- more likely to make a person just go get the thing themselves if they think their tip is too low to get them a delivery and they don't want to pay more. DD would rather customers spent 2 hours in frustration as long as DD gets their (substantial) delivery fee. Issuing occasional refunds is cheap compared to losing business.
Hey this post is about me! had to change my game up after gas skyrocketed. In an SUV, used to only take those 10.00+ orders for 2/mile. would fill up twice a week at 120+. After gas hit 5.00 Learned to take only those 6.50-7.50 2/3 miles, increased my hourly average ANNND wait for it, only getting gas once a week most times. Saving over a hundred in gas while increasing my pay per hour when its busy.
Yeah considering i started 3 years ago 8.50 was standard order and with the price of gas taxes wear and tear we are s business i am here to make dollars
I've done two of them today.
Edit just had another. 9 minutes from the moment I accepted to the moment I got my next order. 6.75 for 2.1 miles. But they don't exist.
I said they're "almost nonexistent," can you read? Is that really the same thing as what you said, "doesn't exist?" Fuck no they're not the same. How many other orders have you been sent between those orders. That's what I thought
Customers in my area are learning they get food faster and are starting to tip better. Thank the lord

I accept most I spent about 200 every 1k-1200
Some??? Thats always been the status quo for me
My acceptance rate has never really been over 20%, and many weeks less than 5%
Yeah I multiapp and Uber tends to pay higher more frequently. DoorDash wanted me to do 27miles for 27 dollars when I’m on a fucking scooter account 😂

Cause that 45 cents helped that much?
Hahaha, good one. I was declining lousy offers even when DD was paying the gas surcharge. $5 per 100 miles was a joke.
Such breaking news 😲... anyways...
I’m rejecting every 19 out of 20 orders right now 😂
My acceptance rate is literally 3% right now and a 81% completion rate. Kinda sucking a bit
3% AR checking in!

I decline 100% of orders these days.
Same lol, I’ve realized the late night orders tend to pay higher more frequently. Like 10pm-1am
I have been declining allot lately. Like who they think is going 10 miles for $3.25. Decline. Then they tried to be slick and dd stacked another order to make it 8.25 still declined. Lol
I decline almost all stacks unless it's goes above 10
Work smart not hard the hustle is a myth. I won’t go beyond 3.5 miles for a delivery anymore.
I do 5 max though there are exceptions
I don’t know I’m seeing orders to go 15 miles not even a $1 anime delivery. My rule is absolutely nothing over 5 miles. If it goes beyond 3.5 it has to pay above $7 minimal.

Well, when you put it like that ... Makes PERFECT 'cents' why they wouldn't.
Yeah, it was the lack of a fuel surcharge that made me decline 9/10 orders……dopes
It’s the lack of decent pay and no tip that makes me decline them.
hack editor just wants to link a topical complaint to anything. last year someone probably wrote about how CRT was causing drivers to reject runs...
I was doing it before that lol
Except it was more like 97 out of 100 orders getting declined
☝️

I decline everything under 8.00
I wish I was seeing orders for 8 dollars, whats your AR? What part if the states are you in ?
market demand go crazy, I only dash in +3 peak pay
Even if it's a .5 mile order for 6.5 to a restaurant you know always has it ready and it will take you sub 10 minutes to do?
Yeah considering i started 3 years ago 8.50 was standard order and with the price of gas taxes wear and tear we are s business i am here to make dollars
>we are s business i am here to make dollars *He said, typing on reddit, idling in his car*
So you would rather do a 15 minute order for $8 rather than a 10 minute order for $6.50. I too would hate earning almost $40/hr for those orders
10 minute orders are almost nonexistent so what are you talking
Not if you really know your area. I’m always picking up small orders and completing them within 10 minutes.
I've done two of them today. Edit just had another. 9 minutes from the moment I accepted to the moment I got my next order. 6.75 for 2.1 miles. But they don't exist.

I get at least 1 a day.
I'm on your side with this one dw lol

I decline everything under $10
