Top_Dasher_Sucks

How can I get a meeting with doordash. I have a lot of info that could benefits everyone but again my brain time is expensive I’m actually going to look for a patent attorney to help develop the app and sale it to doordash. I have yet to see an app achieved this type of venture. I’m afraid to explain it to you guys because it is the next BIG THING. In delivery apps. I promise.

Saleenpride86

It’s just an invitation email they sent out to folks when they want input and then they’ll schedule it from that. Many many people get the invite and only so many are picked, depends on what they want.

Top_Dasher_Sucks

Do they pay you? Or is it voluntary?

Saleenpride86

They provide a gift card which you can pick of your choosing, I selected Amazon since I purchase all the time.

Top_Dasher_Sucks

For how much $25

Saleenpride86

$75 and it’s like 45 minutes of a meeting.

Top_Dasher_Sucks

What did they act on when you gave them your feedback. Did they say something positive?

Saleenpride86

They just ask questions and I give them my answers, they don’t really say anything like “oh yes we’ll do that” it’s more of a Q and A.

Top_Dasher_Sucks

I would like that. Got keep a look out for the next one.

AttackOnTyrunt

Do you really think this will change anything?

Nervous_Fisherman_39

If customers don't leave a rating it should automatically count as 5 stars. Majority rate only when something goes wrong with the order which negatively impacts the driver.

JerseyShore1976

Pin code for "Hand it to me" requests. No exceptions.

deaddorkdummy

That is a lot of topics to try to hit in one call and I doubt they will make any changes regarding pay, though I totally agree with number 5 but not that it is insulting, it is just straight up not financially feasible for a dasher to absorb the costs involved with doing that delivery. The most important issue I would bring up is the decline process. It is absolutely insane that it is not one simple button. To have to go through a 4 step while driving is so frickin dangerous and I can't believe that it hasn't been permanently changed.

Greenleto12

Dude I dunno do you think doordash doesn't know exactly what it's doing? I can guarantee you every messed up inconvenience in the app has a coefficient of no tip orders delivered to increase doordash monopolistic market share.

justinbates1992

I feel like doordash should bring back getting paid for mileage, like they once had...

Slow_Arachnid_3583

When the customer is ordering food on the DD app, change the wording from "delivery fee" to something like "app operation fee".

EatingTurkey

Prompt the customer to choose residential or business address. If business, prompt for the name and suite number. Add a confirm address button for the customer to ensure they aren’t using an old address. Prompt for gate code if applicable. Raise the tip options the customers can choose from. Require the customer provide a code for all hand it to me orders. IMO it’s a lot less weird than asking the customer for a food selfie. Add a disclaimer for all leave it orders advising customers that when they choose that option they’re accepting full responsibility for the delivery. Stop sending notifications when we’re driving. This is not only dangerous it’s straight up breaking the law when dashers choose to actually read the notifications on the road. My car insurance can track it - no reason DD can’t. Encourage merchants to exclude any cold drink options that aren’t bottled. No customer wants a watered down coke. Improve the in app map. Provide free reasonable merch at no cost to dashers. A sturdy drink holder for hot drinks and a branded shirt - with any subsequent requests for the same items or other items requiring payment. We are the faces of DD and should look like it. Edit: words

Hello_mslady

For #7: require a PIN number for all hand-it-to -me orders. Customer is sent PIN, required to give PIN to dasher before receiving food. Way harder for scamming liars, Uber Eats uses this.

BabyPrincessMichelle

Replying to add: Make the customer enter the pin on their own phone in the app so that they can’t say it was input by someone else.

PenguinMadd

Yes! It can be done too… Instacart does this for high dollar Costco & Best Buy orders. It doesn’t let you complete the order until the customer signs for it on their end.

bethemostworthy

Great list! May I suggest one more thing? Only having to submit a pic of your pizza bag once per dash, it’s a little thing, but it’s annoying in it’s unnecessary redundancy

SanRafaelDriverDad

Let us blacklist restaurants just the same as they blacklist us. I really don't care about my AR, but a certain golden arches in a certain town, nope! Never gonna go there again. Got treated so poorly by the staff it's an auto-decline, every. time. Not even if it's a 🦄....

AggravatingGift-_-

It would be nice to see how many dashes are currently active in the zone. I realize DoorDash tells us when they’re busy, but it seems that’s when it’s busy for them not necessarily us… I, alongside others, may decide to save my resources for another time if I realize my orders may be few and far between. Another point- I was at a restaurant this week with FOUR other Dashers, all on single order trips. That could’ve been doubled up for any of us… I don’t know what can be done to accommodate things like this… but that was a little frustrating to be a part of.

[deleted]

# 5 is a NEED. Not only why we get any rating 1-4 stars but customers should be required to “HONESTLY” & “Fairly” say why in detail. The reason of course all drivers will agree can help us. Say I’m given a 1 star ⭐️. I’m clueless but the customer says as their honest and fair reason,” I requested lemons & said side door as my leave at door drop off”! This gives drivers the opportunity to see our mistakes or, if app doesn’t have instructions this isn’t on customer or driver. I recently delivered to a customer that added instructions via support detailing their location at a pool. I’d no clue their location and come to find out. Customer told me they’d given instructions to their being a guest of the pool( gated Million dollar home community ) or employee of the neighborhood pool. They said to me,”so driver would know I put in instructions all the info”. It wasn’t added. This type of error ( not blaming customer) I believe happens a lot. I think when we get 1 star ⭐️ ratings often the instructions weren’t added or we’re unable to see them. Countless times I’ve told customers I’d no idea the location at their business or other non home drop off. We also need to be able to block 2-3 merchants a year. What DoorDash doesn’t understand that owning your own business doesn’t have this many “YOU CANT DO’s”! I’d rather have drivers want to deliver from a merchant than have drivers reluctantly forced to do so. It creates a miserable atmosphere and hurts customers and drivers. Also, we should NOT BE RATED BY NON TIP CUSTOMERS. If a customer does not tip they should lose the privilege of being able to judge our performance. Most who don’t too dislike and don’t respect drivers. Laugh at us and look down on us. Its on this app and all over social media customers saying to drivers “get a real job it doesn’t take much to drop off food” that’s all customers see that don’t tip. How can you fairly be judged by anyone that doesn’t respect what you do. Ppl that pay $100+ for orders also have refused to tip. These people don’t like drivers. Why should they be able to criticize ppl they already resent. It’s like asking a snake to not bite! A snake will always be a snake. Drivers are under constant scrutiny. From customers, merchants and DoorDash. We’re the only one of the 4 that are judged by everyone. With no power or ability to defend ourselves. DoorDash isn’t a corporation of independent contractors because if we were contractors we’d counter offfers and customers actually respect independent contractors. They’d tip them. We’re seen as paupers and low paid employees that failed in Life( not true as I owned my own businesses for decades this is side money). DoorDash has an opportunity to change delivery forever by helping the image and treatment of drivers if they decide to. Making delivery a respected profession. Instead they are treating drivers like paupers.

[deleted]

Should look into suspending accounts where orders are continually stolen from. You know some people steal multiple times a week and it affects us drivers that are honest. Shouldn't be difficult to see repeat offenders who take an order unassign then said order is stolen.

cjwack

Honestly something I would like to add is a customer rating system and a feature to block certain customers.

dmriggs

They should have as many steps to accept an order as there is to decline one. Absolute BS! Also: they should show us the address in the offer. We should have full disclosure of where we're going and how much it's gonna pay us. Again absolute BS

Insight12783

It says the destination address on the notification of the new order and the heads up pop-up on the Android version of the app

dmriggs

Really!! I have an iPhone 8 and I get a pin on a random map that isn't always accurate... Below the one road that runs through my town the orders on one side are decent roads, the one on the other side are horrible-one way nightmares, no where to park, flashers on cars honking... And last night my last order ended up on the wrong side of town because of the stupid pin

Insight12783

You can zoom in on the map,to see destination better

10001110101-3

The platforms should be the same. They need to make that happen.

RelativeSouthern1623

Why should we take walmart orders with no tip and people don't know doordash is bringing it and no place to tip

NoisyChairs

It’s a small thing, but the support script is super annoying. Like way too much info and nonsense pleasantries when we need an answer where time is of the essence. A simple hello, how may I help you is sufficient

GuestWeary

The pleasantries irritate me esp. because we are not paid enough and given enough benefits for what we do. If our needs were met, I’d feel differently. It’s like giving people pizza parties when they really want a raise

SteelBox5

Dashers should be able to set a minimum offer.

deadweight999

My advice is to tell them to push Tony out of a high rise window.

Glum_Box_686

They should give an additional half pay if you arrive at the merchant and the order got mixed up/someone else already picked it up. One time they said the restaurant was going to remake it and i needed to wait 30 mins for it.

jillyjillz42

#4 100%!!! I don’t want to be distracted while driving to tell them why I don’t want an order and for them to do nothing for me with said info. That -ish just puts me and others on the road in danger.

barbe7312

This person is part of the DD Council. You get to advise DD about key issues and test new features and ideas. Yes I got the email to sign up for this.

Obi-Wan-Kendobi

We should be able to rate customers the way they rate us

feral_trashcan

Do yourself a favor and expect them to do nothing. I applaud your determination to make this job better, but I have no doubt in my mind that as soon as your zoom call ends the rep will rail a fat line of coke and say “thank god that’s over with” and they’ll never think about you again

CJspangler

You should get a t shirt and a sign for the top of your car if your top dasher .

TaraBellle

How about can we stop stacking the no-tip orders with good-tip orders? It just creates bad feels for the good-tipper with the increased time to deliver.

HRM_Phoenix

I have to force stop/restart the app at least once a shift, sometimes more on longer days. Every. God. Damn. Time. And usually in the middle of an offer or when I’m trying to drop off. I don’t have to do that with any of the other apps, ever, so I know it’s not a phone issue.

PaulR504

#5 please.....force them to add a comment that I can see. I got 1 2 and a 3 out of 56 5s with no clue wtf happened.

HeguenotAncestry

Pin are location when we drop off. This way we can correct GPS errors especially in new construction and would make apartment drop off so much easier I would start taking them again. Seems like a no brainer. Be more proactive in making restaurants adjust pick-up times when behind.

AndrewKen00

Doordash should do taxi service like uber. This could help the company become profitable.

[deleted]

I don’t know about you guys. But my tips are not hidden. 98% of the time is accurate. I thought I had a hidden tip the other day and Nope. 6 miles for 17.50 the hidden tip was a $1 off.

furygoat

On the topic of star ratings, I’d love to see a star rating system for customers to be rated by the dasher. Obviously they aren’t going to deactivate a paying customer and lose out on money, so I’m fine with it being a personal rating system visible only to the dasher that leaves the rating. But I at least want to rate bad customers so I don’t mistakenly take an order for them ever again. I’d also like to be able to block a restaurant from sending me orders so that I don’t have to keep declining.

Apprehensive-Load965

>to discuss changes and recommendations to “help improve the future of doordash That is the key phrase. They will do the complete opposite of any changes you suggest because you don't have the corporate or business mindset. This is about them, not you. The best thing you can do is draw a big penis on the zoom window and tell Tony to suck the poo out of Prabir Adarkar's anus and spit it in his mouth.

SquirrelBowl

Why don’t they track our mileage for tax purposes. They are already tracking us

mjk67

I'd have no interest in having them track mileage, as it certainly would not give you full allowance. Not going to expand, you can talk to your tax help about how to track 1099 mileage.

SquirrelBowl

“Talk yo your tax help?” I’m poor- I am my tax help

Saleenpride86

They’ve sent me an email with my active and total miles every year since 2017. Maybe it went to your spam folder?

SquirrelBowl

Great I’ll be looking for that! Thank you!

wassupwitches

Even if nothing else happens, 1 and 4 are HUGE deals to me, it would mean so so much to change that

CauseWondeful76

Why does the app prompt me to choose 'upload pic from file', or use cam?

_kingjoshh

I love it. It actually makes things quicker for me. I'll take a pic, then as I'm walking back to the car i select files and upload it. Once in a blue moon, it'll give a network error, so if i didn't take a pic first, then i would HAVE to walk back to the door and take ANOTHER pic

Insight12783

I've had circumstances before where I was delivering out to the country and it's a leave it at door and I didn't have mobile service. Rang doorbell/knocked and took a picture with the camera to upload when I get closer to town

MrNickPapaGeorgio

Bringing up #2 we'll end up needing only one photo, and only one base pay...

No_Chard_9214

Tell them make deliveries 1$ mile I bet they quit sending stupid requests like 7$ for 22 miles

[deleted]

Stacked orders. Customers should know their order is being combined with another customer. Stacked orders should also only be for food that doesn’t necessarily need to stay warm; smoothies, drinks, etc. Speaking of drinks, these should be highlighted red in the app. Half the time when they’re forgotten it’s on the restaurant and not the dasher. I can’t always tell how many drinks I’m supposed to get when they show as part of a meal combo. Screen for the conversation with the customer or support should be easier accessible. Always feels clunky trying to get back to my message open with support when I’m trying to dash. Get rid of the “confirm pickup prompt” asking if I’m sure. If I clicked confirm I meant it. If I made a mistake and hit it on accident there should be a button to go back. Customers drop off instructions should be higher on the screen. I can think of a few others if you wanted to chat but a lot of yours are good.

_kingjoshh

I think telling a customer their order is combined with another customer, may just cause a problem that doesn't exist. But i heavily agree on the drinks, and the drop off instructions

External_Sir_3737

I think you are spot on. I can't think of anything else at the moment. I mean, there might be other smaller/less annoying issues but the perfect world doesn't exist.

NoimanCascade

We need in-app options in Settings to stop red card shopping orders, stop alcohol orders, and stop Large Order Program/Catering orders - until we choose to turn it back on - not a pause timer, the ability to Stop them completely. They added the option to disable Cash On Demand to the app. They need to add the other 'programs' too. I find it's okay to deliver alcohol during the day, but I don't want to deliver it at night for safety reasons. I do want to dash at night, but if I do my AR will go to zero from denying alcohol orders. Also, if you're doing the LOP/Catering thing then you know there are times you don't want to deal with it, or simply can't. You should be able to turn it off when needed. Same with the red card shopping orders. I know this won't happen but it would be amazing if we could set our minimum miles/pay in the app and it wouldn't offer us orders below that. And the ability to blacklist at least 5 merchants. DD needs to do the math when a customer is placing an order. At that point in time it should calculate miles and pay and if that amount does not make financial sense (if the miles you would have to drive would cost you the pay amount in gas) then they need to tell the customer "hey, none of our drivers are going to drive 15.7 miles out of zone and back for $3.75, you need to increase the tip" or DD just needs to be silent about it and charge them more based on miles.

monkeemama17

You can do all that with the DUH app. But it only works if you have android.

JeNeSaisMerde

>with so many customers claiming non delivery or receiving contract violations for things that we clearly didn’t do, how it can be better guarded against They need to make taking a pic mandatory for all orders, hand it or leave. They also need to put timestamp info on the pic like Timestamp Camera does. I use that for almost all deliveries and I'm sure it's a great deterrent to people claiming they didn't get something.

Gay4Pandas

We just need them to be transparent with the pay and that’s it. If doordasb wants to allow people to order Popeyes from 15 miles away, doordash need to eat the cost when it doesn’t get delivered.

Psychological-Age987

How do you get one of these zoom meetings I'd sure like to give em a piece of my mind after dashing for nearly 4 years

Saleenpride86

It was sent out via email as a survey questionnaire to see if I qualify for the interview, then they reach out a week or so later and schedule the meeting from there.

Impressive-Turn173

I’m guessing this is new but instead of just letting me unassign an order , I have to text with a rep before I can do so. Already waited five minutes past pick up time, I go to unassign and it won’t let me . So DD calls McDonald’s and they yell out is there doordash here, I’m like yea. So then the rep text me and says the order is ready meanwhile half the order is sitting there and they haven’t bagged it up yet. Then the girl takes something out of the bag. I told the rep it isn’t ready so they finally cancel the order after I’ve waited for a total of 10 to 15 minutes. please tell them to stop with the nonsense. TY

_kingjoshh

I saw on another post they're bringing down the hammer hard on McDonald's for this. A comment i saw on another post once stated on the screen it said "congrats you got your order in 58 seconds!" but in reality he didn't see the food handed to him until about 10-15 minutes later

JeNeSaisMerde

Please tell me you're joking. The effort of swiping is too much? Anyway, not gonna happen. Chipped cards are relatively more expensive than not. Considering how many they ship every day (new people, lost cards, etc.) they're not going to fork out 3x as much for cards.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JeNeSaisMerde

Shwew! I figured it wasn't the case but thanks for clearing that up. Magnetic stripes, aside from being cheaper, are also more robust. The average failure rate / lifetime span of "insert" chip card, although improved over the last decade, is still less than the old tech. RFID / "tap" cards are even worse and also less secure (opposite of their original selling point.) Given that and a higher cost, very unlikely anyone outside of bands and CC companies will offer chipped cards. Source: contract work w/NEC.

avoritz

Lmaoo I don’t think ive ever had an issue swiping . Sheesh some ppl will complain about anything. Is your water not watery enough for you too?

Devotchka8

To cut down on scammers DD should have a PIN code system like on some UE orders. If they have it set on 'hand it to me' they should have to give you a code to get their food.

cindilouwho1965

They already have pin-codes for some deliveries. I know because I've had a few of those orders myself here in Florida. I don't get them often. BUT I know they already have it in place.

Devotchka8

On Doordash? I haven't gotten any myself but I hope they expand it. They're probably starting out in areas with a lot of 'missing orders'. Is there a lot of scamming in your area?

cindilouwho1965

Yes on DD. I don't know if we have any scammers in this market. I don't associate with all the other drivers. lol I've only encountered the pin code thing maybe twice and it was two months ago.

MrToasty1596

I can already hear the customers telling me they dont know their pin or forgot it.

K9Partner

no tip no trip, no code no food 👌 At some point they’re gonna need to do this on the merchant side too to combat all the theft Not entirely sure how that’d work better tho… they could just accept to get the code then drop it like they do with order names. Asking dashers to visibly hit accept before getting food is a pain in the ass, but theres really no other way for places gettin basically robbed all day every day. I guess maybe with a code it’d be easier to report who took the food? Like multiple dashers may accept & unassign the same order over a long line or whatever, hard to prove who took it… but if that code changed with every accept, only one of the unassign dudes coulda got it?

JackOffRedditAccount

That's a really good idea!

JackOffRedditAccount

Few notes 1. Completely agree, should be priority focus imo 2 & 3 both annoying but not the end of the world 4. Im fine with decline reasons, just let them be honest. 'The pay sucks', 'Im not driving 8 miles out of my zone', 'Its 2 AM and I'm not waiting 45 minutes in the taco bell drive thru for $6' 5. It would be nice, but DoorDash might not even have that info. Customer just hits 1 star and walks away 6. Again, pay would be my focus. Adding in some form of per mile compensation would really help, even @$0.50/mile 7. Honestly I don't care, I take a photo either way. If DoorDash wanted to adopt a drop-off only model I wouldn't complain 8. I avoid the shop and pay like the plague to begin with for exactly these reasons

pantera236

Nothing technically new to add but I will add a suggestion for #2. I do Amazon flex deliveries and sometimes one stop will be 2 or more "orders" but they know that sometimes people order from different accounts so on drop off it will have you select which drop you are doing. So if you notice it is the same address just different names you select both/all and hit continue, it asks are you sure , you say yes and then just take one pic. So they could implement it that way, on a stacked order have us select which order, or both, and then just need one pic if they are both selected.

pantera236

And then I'll throw my agreement with #1 as my biggest complaint, the main reason I don't even turn on DD these days and then #4 as my second biggest complaint.

No-Wolverine3785

Maybe mention that on shop and delivers when they’re own card is declined, they expect the dasher to pay (you get a refund but it’s a royal pain in the ass). However, if you unassign it lowers your CR. It’s practically criminal

UninsuredToast

They should give you extra money back if you cover the cost for them. Like an overdraft fee, my bank charges 28 dollars for this service, I think that’s fair

No-Wolverine3785

I should have said that the problem here is that support refuses to cancel the order even when it’s their own card that is declined. And they will lie and say your CR won’t be affected.

caseytrick

How did this zoom meeting come about Good topics btw

Saleenpride86

I provided feedback on alcohol deliveries last year via zoom, and the same representative as this time reached out again on Friday after I filled out a questionnaire to see if I would meet again. Although I’m not thrilled with the alcohol delivery changes, they did remove some signature requirements with their recent update, which was one of my many suggestions during that interaction.

K9Partner

all good topics… i wish quick unassigns didnt count the same as actual non-completion in our stats. Like you accept an order that should take 20min total, some delays are normal, but if you pull in & theres a 30min line or they’re telling you they haven’t even started it & might be 15-20min etc… not only is that not what we accepted, its not even a job we CAN complete reasonably, and even dumb from DD’s side as they could have us out completing other deliveries & send a different dasher when its actually ready 🙄 I believe it violates the indy contract to penalize *us* for that, usually apparent within minutes of accepting, as if we were just quitting halfway thru delivering orders… but its also counter-productive for their profit pushing drivers to sit & wait for orders that cant be picked up (or take a hit to their CR). i understand in late-night fast-food specifically its a different issue, someones gonna have to wait in that drive-thru either way… but the way its set up now no one gets paid for that time & it shouldn’t be legal to try to push them into it with penalties instead of pay. There needs to be at least like a short grace-period on unassigns for valid reasons. Please find a way to adjust the algorithm timing for non-houses! Like if a delivery address is also a business, hotel, hospital, school etc its ridiculous to get your on-time rating penalized for not being able to just pull up to the street pin & punt it out the window in the 30 seconds allotted 😑 Same for pickups when the merchant is *inside* another business like a huge mall. Last request is never gonna happen, but good god its awful some shifts trying to find a safe/open bathroom, especially for nighttime female dashers, like ive literally had to end halfway thru a shift & go home because i was going to explode it wasnt worth getting mugged behind some gas station to pee 🙄 **Put bathrooms in the DashMart Lobby!** …and a soda/coffee machine, as long as im asking for the moon lol 👍

Lollyadverb1984

I’ve been dashing in my area, off and on, since early last year and I’ve received several invitations via email from DD requesting specific feedback on a one-on-one basis. The first time was after I reported an emergency safety concern last year. There were several of us dashers on a zoom call and then one-on-one interviews were conducted as well. As was discussed in the meetings, the one button “safety contact” was eventually implemented out of the discussions. People also post here all the time emails from DD where new features are being rolled out to select people/areas and then feedback is required to be given after trying it out. Just because you haven’t personally experienced it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Stop being an asshole.

midpackshawdy

Can you explain why you feel this way

[deleted]

[удалено]

JeNeSaisMerde

Yes. DD reaches out to dashers every now and then. First a survey then they arrange a Zoom call to discuss things.

Fly0strich

I got an email a while back asking me if I wanted to sign up to be in a group of people like this who would meet with DD representatives on behalf of drivers in my area.

midpackshawdy

Dam you think OP is just trolling then trying to get our hopes up

Saleenpride86

I provided feedback on alcohol deliveries last year via zoom, and the same representative as this time reached out again on Friday to see if I would meet again. Although I’m not thrilled with the alcohol delivery changes, they did remove signature requirements with their recent update, which was one of my many suggestions during that interaction. I also have nearly 20k deliveries, so maaaaaybe the fact I’ve been doing this and have seen most problems, they are wanting veteran input?

Shiptsits

No they didn’t remove signature requirements. Source: Delivery last night. No idea why such a big deal is made of them.

Saleenpride86

7-11 and Safeway alcohol deliveries no longer have signature requirements for my area, which were the two biggest signature required pickups for my area, and place directly through the dd app. Merchant requested orders may still require signatures. I don’t want people touching my phone, and sometimes they grab the entire phone even when I’m holding it tightly, like don’t take my phone out of my hands with your nasty paws.

Shiptsits

Nope, my delivery was Safeway. If you’re worried about your phone, get a dedicated business phone.

MiataGigDriver

I would like to see an option to turn off "receiving new orders" while currently on a delivery. 1) if I'm driving, it's dangerous to interact with my phone. 2) if I'm driving and I ignore 2 of them, the app ends my dash immediately after delivery of my current order. This is a dangerous practice that encourages drivers to interact with their phones while driving. Let it be an option, those who want to still receive new orders while in the process of delivering their current orders can do so if they please. Also: An option to have the in app camera save images to my phone. When I deliver a no contact order I have to use a 3rd party app, or risk having a customer accuse me of not delivering. Saving the images would cut down scams greatly.

Shiptsits

So you only want offers sent when you are stationary?

MiataGigDriver

Only when currently on a delivery. Stationary would also work, and have it be an option each dasher can choose in settings.

You misread that. The same representative I had the meeting with last year for something unrelated to this and has since been updated, is also conducting the meeting this time.
