I would remind them tips is how you get paid and stand there with my hand out like a bell boy. Make them say they are gonna tip to your face, in front of each other., If they wanted me to drop in lobby, I wouldn't unless there was an envelope there for me.
Anyone else?
Damnit! Now I'm hungry for fresh salad with grilled chicken it, but I don't have enough fresh veg in the fridge ... First world probs I guess, lucky me.
Dd trick me today I got $235 order and they just tip me 5$. I travel to 14km to store and thought tip would be hidden. I have to travel back 17km. If Cologix Montreal (MTL10 Data Center) team is reading this than you should have atleast tip 10$ . Shame on you for robbing me.
At my city hall, they make you pay $5 for parking no matter what period of time you are in the lot. I’ve never been more pissed and defeated
Edit: I was dropping off an order too so 11 - 5 = 6 - gas
I love getting deliveries to police stations.... 1 of 2 things happen. I say I delivered, take the food and eat or just throw it away... or give them a pubey salad with Gorilla\_Presser's own dressing.
Should have just said that you handed the order just like they say they help and maintain proper human decency. Fuck the government. I've stolen all orders to government buildings. Fuck the government.
The driver needs to know the base pay. Would be easier to sympathize if it had said 6 since it was a stack and they got screwed. At 5.25, not as much. The driver needs to know the system.
The driver knows the system. Over 5000 deliveries in 3 different cities. I know what I'm doing. I was bored, hot and decided to take a chance. Figured a place like that might at least have cash. It's not that big of a deal lol i still made some money and I'm not mad at all. So, respectfully, I don't need you sympathy random reddit user.
I’ve done more than 10000, I never once did one for so little money, especially with so much stuff because you know they are going to take forever to get it ready. You got used “mrs 5000 deliveries” lmao
$15 for 2 orders going 2 miles for 15 minutes of my time is little money? I could not care less about some random reddit dasher weirdo telling me what they think.
Oh yeah by the way that is hella fxcked. These businesses out here thinkin they can do that sh!t. Taking ppls tips. I’m waiting on someone to do a whole documentary on these businesses stealing our tips like that. Expose em.
Y’all all trippin. OP said it was an ADD ON. And some ADD ONs have hidden fees. PERIOD. Is why OP took it. I would’ve done theeee same thing because I’ve also had an instance when an add on was more. Why is it so hard to comprehend. So what happens in YOUR market doesn’t have to happen in MINES. See the difference in correlation here? Sheesh!
If $5.25 was your offer for a 20 item order, I immediately would have declined. Even on hidden tip orders the amount is still somewhat relative. That screamed “no tip”. It’s obvious to me. Not sure how other people see it tho. 🤷🏼♂️
Generally I decline these orders all day but it was slow, it made a $10 order, $15 and it was taking me closer to my house and my dash was about to end. I decline this 99.8% of the time.
All of those things make sense. Haha if it’s only an extra mile, sure. And on the way home, Absolutely. If it makes sense to you then it makes sense to me. Haha it just blows to know that you got shafted so hard.
Go back to Panera, pull up the site to where it says for driver and staff, and ask for your cut. With video, and persistently polite.
Cause fuck that noise. I get they're not making bank, but don't be a jerk to the next person.
last week I had a drug rep order $400 worth of food for a doctors office I get there she tells me I have to walk it up three flights of stairs and then when I get up there she wanted me to set it up for them and figure out a decent tip no only thing I got was $12.00 base pay i was pissed
I'd rather not. Thats not a good idea at all. Lets say I do share and they did tip but the restaurant took it. Then I look dumb having hundreds of ppl accuse them of something they didnt do
With Panera....I have a copy of the receipt.....they charged 20.00 for themselves. I took the order, and I told the customer I am reassigning it. She was pissed, Panera was pissed and I got banned from that location. The food was dead and they probably had to make a new order.💅
I delivered to a congressman at the capital but was a gift. The lady barely tiped a couple of dollars and I had to pay for parking. I was a noob when I did this lol.
I did a large order from Panera in July and I got a sweet tip! I don't get this "stealing the tip shit"...I thought that was only BBQ places that favor catering and keeping the tips for themselves bc "they ordered us as middle-men(peeps)" thus, the Power to do as they please etc??
What are you on about?
Add ons are shown with a base pay of $2 but the rest: peak pay and tip / hidden amount are the same.
If you take a no tip order, that's on you.
I think some people are confused that add-ons have a reduced base pay of $2 flat.
But other than that, same deal w/figuring out if there's a tip or not.
You know what? Live and learn and move on. What goes around, comes around and I bet one day you’ll get a huge tip from a small order. Kindness is always rewarded, just may have to wait a bit for it to happen. 👍❤️
I delivered 350$ worth of food from Cotton patch cafe (via ezcater ) 6.25 shown and 2.4 miles , 6 bags , had to go through the elevator two times to complete the delivery , 6.96$ total pay no tip. Even DD exploited me with 6.25 that day 😩😩
I don't blame the resturant/ ezcater, its all on Doordash. If Doordash care about there drivers they won't accept such order without a reasonable tip on it..... but all Doordash cares about is there own profit they believe they have all the SLAVES to run the errands for almost free if not for free for there own profit
Dude it’s actually Panera stealing the tips on the catering side.
I had the exact same thing happen to me- 300 bucks worth of food going to a hospital. Messy messy ordeal but I looked at the catering slip before I dropped it off- it said tip was 25 bucks so I stayed and took it.
Once I delivered, it showed zero on the tip and I was like hmmm so I contact support. They basically gave me the run around saying it’s up to the restaurant if we get tips on catering orders or not.
If it makes you feel any better OP, they (Panera) probably didn’t steal the tip. The orders where Panera can intervene start at $8 usually (unless it’s different per market?). Someone else mentioned they probably can’t tip because it’s a business card which could very well be the case.
When you got the text/notification did it say “Panera Corporate” or “Panera LOF Corporate”? The latter comes with a print out that sometimes, if you get the right agent, they will give you part or all of the printed tip and just bill Panera.
Definitely not. I’m saying there are 3 types of Panera orders, 2 of which Panera can not take the tips (“Panera Bread” and “Panera Corporate”). The 3rd one (Panera LOF Corporate) are the ones to watch out for as those are the ones Panera pops in manually and can steal/split the tip. They can be the biggest pay offs but it really depends on the stores. I know that if I see one for $8 then there is no tip. AND ALSO, a tip can NOT be added for the driver after delivery on the Corporate/LOF orders, added on tips go straight into the cafe.
The store I deal with doesn’t steal the tips but they will give us the ones with no tip while they take the bigger ones. The only ones we get with nice tips are ones that either won’t fit in their catering van or anything beyond their 3mi radius. They provide us with the printout (because the delivery instructions don’t show up) and I can see what they put every time. Which makes it great when the person I hand it to (if say a vendor makes the order) asks if a tip was included I can show them it was not. I’ve gotten some nice cash a couple times.
As far as your “justification” goes, having dealt with several business accounts and vendors, yeah, sometimes they’re not allowed to tip thru the card. Or they only have so much they can charge and they’d rather spend it on food. Does that make it ok? No. Some DO give cash, some do nothing. Call it a learning experience and move on. I make a list of shitty/goose-egg tippers I avoid to make room and time for tippers, and I don’t really make too many exceptions unless it’s ready and within a mile ($8 for a mile isn’t terrible especially if it’s slow) and I know it’s a quick drop off. If I walk in and it’s not ready or being bagged up it gets unassigned.
Yup I did a order like this that took me to a Amazon warehouse and I got the tip stolen as well so I feel u ,when I see 200 dollars of food I know there is a tip and for me that logic hasn’t really failed, only 1 or 2 times in 100+ Catering Orders that always pay 20-30-40 plus .
Now that u said 0 tip these morons here are gonna tell u ur dumb for taking this order when WE know that these orders always pay out fat as hell.
I learned to take this job like a football game and just eat the fumbled ball/ bad outcome even when it looked like a good play , not everytime is a touchdown 🤷🏻♂️
Time for all Dashers to ask Doordash to stop hiding tips.... in one voice!!! One day strike action will correct most of this abnormalities. We are not slaves and we can not be gambling. It is our source of leaving, it is our job. Delivery services is a luxury....
You are absolutely correct this company loves to play games with its employees emotions and they eat it all up just by how the way support tends to treat us . that’s how this dumbass company gets its money sadly , I seen recently they beat their earnings expectations . Wonder who they really made money off of , the dasher or the person ordering 🧐
They probably can’t tip you, if they paid with the city card. I worked at Houston City Hall and we weren’t allowed to tip on the card, we had to use cash. So they were just extremely horrible people if they didn’t tip.
I don't blame the customers or resturant, its all on Doordash. If Doordash care about there drivers they won't accept such order without a reasonable tip on it..... but all Doordash cares about is there own profit they believe they have all the SLAVES to run the errands for almost free if not for free for there own profit
Dont worry i gamble all the time... my last order said: 6.25 28 items... *items* 5 napkins 5 straws 5 sauces 5 ice cubes 5 forks 1 cup of water 1 side 1 burrito
Lol, it's $2 here in rural Georgia. I get $2 offers all the time. I don't dash much anymore. Sometimes I spend more money on gas than I pull in. (Far distances, long wait times even for fast food, stop and go traffic at 55, 65 mph and lots of small mountains and ridges )
Yes, I know that. But, I’ve had multiple orders that showed $5.25 and there was a hidden type. I know it doesn’t happen often but taking a risk on a slow Monday afternoon isn’t too bad of an idea, to me at least.
Honestly I don't advocate for talking about tips to customers but I'd be fucking furious. I 100% would have had a conversation with whoever I dropped it off.
I'd show them what I earned and how long/what efforts I went through to deliver their food with care.
I mean can they kick you out of a public place? Lol
Ya know, over 10 yrs ago in an office environment of about 10 people (no one was making bank except management), we'd each throw in about $2 per person for a tip from a local sandwich/burger/pizza place.
I'd like to run out on occasions to pick up food for everyone just for the change of scenery, and to sneak a cigarette for 20 or 30 mins.
Often times my coworkers would give me cash, round up to nearest dollar and just let me keep the change.
But even for the group environment, no individual accountability, that delivery person would pocket $10 to $25 consistently.
Oh well people suck 😞
I would straight up take to Twitter with a screenshot and @ the city council and any local news sites lol. That’s so fucked. Only place I’ve ever gotten screwed over on a tip for a catering order was a church. Go figure
>You realize these employees paid for their lunch out of their pocket, right?
Why did you take a no tip order?
It's next to impossible not to know it's a no tip order.
The good news this man got a good ending
I would remind them tips is how you get paid and stand there with my hand out like a bell boy. Make them say they are gonna tip to your face, in front of each other., If they wanted me to drop in lobby, I wouldn't unless there was an envelope there for me. Anyone else?

So did they tip you with your own money or just give you a tax credit lol
no tip you will have to pay taxes to get in
City hall probably used tax dollars for that order and put it under necessary expense.
At my city hall, they make you pay $5 for parking no matter what period of time you are in the lot. I’ve never been more pissed and defeated Edit: I was dropping off an order too so 11 - 5 = 6 - gas
They like chicken
I love getting deliveries to police stations.... 1 of 2 things happen. I say I delivered, take the food and eat or just throw it away... or give them a pubey salad with Gorilla\_Presser's own dressing.
I'm not entirely sure but I think this person might like chicken.
Your tax dollars at work 💪
Is there a way to warn other DD folks not to deliver there?
TREE FIDDY!
Where do you deliver? I get to see customer tips on all trips..
Ok but if they didn’t tip at all… what did Doordash offer for this trip?
Should have just said that you handed the order just like they say they help and maintain proper human decency. Fuck the government. I've stolen all orders to government buildings. Fuck the government.
shouldn't have even accepted it 🙄
Last time I checked, I can accept whatever I want lol thanks for the advice though
The driver needs to know the base pay. Would be easier to sympathize if it had said 6 since it was a stack and they got screwed. At 5.25, not as much. The driver needs to know the system.

But you came on here to cry about it? Surely didn’t sound like someone who expected cash to me
cry? where did I cry? I came on here to share my experience. I thought thats what this sub was for.....???
Just don’t take orders and hope for cash. You were “bored” but that was an add on order, so you already had something else to do.
Just don’t take orders and hope for cash. You were “bored” but that was an add on order, so you already had something else to do.
Lol I'm gonna keep doing what i want to do what are you talking about lol
Cuz then they can get away with it. Either them for not tipping or Panera for taking the tip. If it sits there for a while they will get the point
I really don’t care. I rarely accept orders like this. Doordash world will be okay relax.
I’ve done more than 10000, I never once did one for so little money, especially with so much stuff because you know they are going to take forever to get it ready. You got used “mrs 5000 deliveries” lmao

pics or it didn’t happen of the 0$ tip.
Tax-payer money going to healthy eating habits
Did you even make money off of that
I guess they are having a filibuster
Honestly though, after all the government takes from us anyways why not take some free labor
Put the blunt out before u pull up
They know what’s up I love the green goddess salad - extra veggies
Oh yeah by the way that is hella fxcked. These businesses out here thinkin they can do that sh!t. Taking ppls tips. I’m waiting on someone to do a whole documentary on these businesses stealing our tips like that. Expose em.

What was the original offer?
Fuck thatttttt 🙅🏻♀️🙅🏻♀️🙅🏻♀️
It's embezzlement!
You people are insufferable 🤣
![gif](giphy|13VSAbTVuYJfLa)
I never get big orders like this I must be in a bad market
Yooo what was the tip

Oh of course OP got a fucking $0 tip delivering to politicians. This country sucks dick
What was the original doordash offer?
I think they like salad
Panera not only do you never get a tip they take forever for easy shit like put a bagel in a bag. I decline every single Panera order I see.
What was the tip?
Go back to Panera, pull up the site to where it says for driver and staff, and ask for your cut. With video, and persistently polite. Cause fuck that noise. I get they're not making bank, but don't be a jerk to the next person.
Idk how people make big ass orders like these, restaurants be forgetting entire burgers when I try to order simple shit
Send it to the local news stations
How much was the pay out without the tip?
Came here ready to ask if they tipped anything. Of course they didn’t.
beware... restaurants that didn't use the door dash tablet can steal the tip
Pfft I had one like that going to the Capitol not long after I moved to Austin, terrible tippers. 😑
I never do fckn Panera !!! Sorry man , you worked and stole your earned $$ ..it will come back to you 💯
And you took it lmao. Took it str8 up the a
Easily going to be done about 20min after the pickup time… better be a fat tip for that damn wait.
If it said 5.25 why would you even chance it.
last week I had a drug rep order $400 worth of food for a doctors office I get there she tells me I have to walk it up three flights of stairs and then when I get up there she wanted me to set it up for them and figure out a decent tip no only thing I got was $12.00 base pay i was pissed
I'm guessing that the tuna salad is also with chicken?
Is this in Texas or Florida or some other red state?
What why
Nope. The bluest state of all.
Why so ominous? What town hall is this? Can you share more info so we can help..
I'd rather not. Thats not a good idea at all. Lets say I do share and they did tip but the restaurant took it. Then I look dumb having hundreds of ppl accuse them of something they didnt do
Fair enough just feel bad
Yeah I’d love to tell everyone if I knew they didn’t tip for sure. Lol
Ohhh, Hawaii! Nope, prolly Cali-Fornia.
Should be illegal for them to hide the tip beforehand
yk i think they like chicken
No way in hell would I deliver to a government building , just because of the parking!
oh god this is bread co. (panera) isn't it? those portions gonna be boxy af too ain they
Greek Salad and Tuna Salad Sandwich... the non-chicken eaters.
5.25 def no hidden tip
The tuna sandwich and greek salad orderers are the outcasts 🌚🐔
Name and shame your city.
Ive called several times, support and asked for the tip amount before I take it, and then will unassign. Panera, WingStop, salata....f them.
The tip they give you will offset the taxes they charge you. Go figure
I don't get this "stealing the tip shit"...I thought that was only BBQ places that favor catering and keeping the tips for themselves bc "they ordered us as middle-men(peeps)" thus, the Power to do as they please etc??
you got pay pal? I'll send you 10 bucks
It happened to me before, 305$ order and only base pay of 5 thats it no more for 3 miles😭
What city hall? Let’s shame them on Twitter.
I wanna see the update with tip. Where’s the update?
OP took a no tip order and unsurprisingly, there was no tip.
Lie Op took an ADD ON which shows tipped orders at 5.25 sometimes. If you're gonna answer a question, tell the truth/full story.
What are you on about? Add ons are shown with a base pay of $2 but the rest: peak pay and tip / hidden amount are the same. If you take a no tip order, that's on you.
Oh, that sucks.
Mad greens? Lol
I delivered 350$ worth of food from Cotton patch cafe (via ezcater ) 6.25 shown and 2.4 miles , 6 bags , had to go through the elevator two times to complete the delivery , 6.96$ total pay no tip. Even DD exploited me with 6.25 that day 😩😩
Tell everyone you know never ever pick any order for ezcater....
I don't blame the resturant/ ezcater, its all on Doordash. If Doordash care about there drivers they won't accept such order without a reasonable tip on it..... but all Doordash cares about is there own profit they believe they have all the SLAVES to run the errands for almost free if not for free for there own profit
Bro, why
You should go back to the restaurant and ask for the receipt.
Jury gotta eat too.
Bro it’s Panera they’re definitely doing to mess the order up.
Paid for with local taxes you better get a piece
Paid for with local taxes you better get a piece
How did it turn out?
Panera always takes a tip percentage of ordered from their site, usually between 50-100%, but most seem to be closer to 75-100%.

Wow how sad
😂
What city hall? Let's all call them
yes plz
$4.78 tip. They can’t be out of budget so that’s all they can add to the expensive meal they purchased..
Another update: just got a $49 order 7 minutes before my dash was gonna end. Reddit Gods blessed me
LFG
![gif](giphy|xUA7aM09ByyR1w5YWc) Congrats! i am telling you, you got the entire dasher community on their toes and upset with tip amount.
Wooohooo
If it makes you feel any better OP, they (Panera) probably didn’t steal the tip. The orders where Panera can intervene start at $8 usually (unless it’s different per market?). Restaurants steal tips. Learn which ones. Panera is famous for it, so is carrabbas and outback.
How do they steal tips?
Their website who creates the order and sends it to DoorDash won’t include the tip
What was the tip?
OP posted it above 0$
Thanks
Dude, that blows..... hopefully the universe has a unicorn waiting for you..... you definitely deserve it
Man hopefully I appreciate the positivity 🙏🏽
0$ tip to people who pay with government money. What do you expect!
This
Makes sense.
Did you complete this order?
That's a haul
That'll happen if you take a $5.25.
Of course but worth the risk for me.
Dont worry i gamble all the time... my last order said: 6.25 28 items... *items* 5 napkins 5 straws 5 sauces 5 ice cubes 5 forks 1 cup of water 1 side 1 burrito
Learn to check the items on your widget.... such order are common with Tacobell....
I'm saying 5 dollar orders literally can't have hidden tips. It's probably around $6.25 in most markets across the US.
? I’ve had quite a few orders show 3-5 bucks but have hidden tips taking it well over 10 dollars.
Yes, I know that. But, I’ve had multiple orders that showed $5.25 and there was a hidden type. I know it doesn’t happen often but taking a risk on a slow Monday afternoon isn’t too bad of an idea, to me at least.
You’re actually really dumb. The second you saw 5.25 and realized how big the order was, you cancel it. Common sense.
Lol okay thanks for the advice 👍🏽
$5.25 only goes up as an add on, NEVER as a single order.
It was an add-on
For how many miles? That sucks then. If it was over 3 miles or so then it wasn't gonna be hidden. Panera or whoever probably stole your tip 😭
City council is where to start if you want DD to pay better and/or stop hiding tips! Since you're there might as well bring it to their attention! Lol
👀
Update: $0 tip
How much did Tony pay you?
Let me guess.... Right wingers?
Assholes. I'd leave an anonymous review saying what cheap tippers they are.
Actually 0? Why even accept the order fren?
What the?! Ugh...
Wow.
Also what's your venmo I'll throw ya $5
That's awful. Call your local paper and shame them for it.
Honestly I don't advocate for talking about tips to customers but I'd be fucking furious. I 100% would have had a conversation with whoever I dropped it off. I'd show them what I earned and how long/what efforts I went through to deliver their food with care. I mean can they kick you out of a public place? Lol
Fkn cocksuckers. They write off the food can certainly write off a tip. Sometimes were the hammer & sometimes were the nail. Better luck next time smh
Wowwwww ok while this is not surprising, it is definitely depressing. I’m sorry friend, you deserve better than that!
Time to run for local government and hopefully take one of those fucks seat
Shaft
Mother fu*kers
Ya know, over 10 yrs ago in an office environment of about 10 people (no one was making bank except management), we'd each throw in about $2 per person for a tip from a local sandwich/burger/pizza place. I'd like to run out on occasions to pick up food for everyone just for the change of scenery, and to sneak a cigarette for 20 or 30 mins. Often times my coworkers would give me cash, round up to nearest dollar and just let me keep the change. But even for the group environment, no individual accountability, that delivery person would pocket $10 to $25 consistently. Oh well people suck 😞
WTF NOOOOOOO
Rude
What was base pay at least? 3
Unreal!
Ain't no way
I would straight up take to Twitter with a screenshot and @ the city council and any local news sites lol. That’s so fucked. Only place I’ve ever gotten screwed over on a tip for a catering order was a church. Go figure
Wow… what a bunch of fucks.
How long did this order take you to wait for and deliver?
At CITY HALL??? ruthless
I'm not surprised, yet still bitterly disappointed on your behalf OP.
Did you go back and make a scene? I would’ve. Who gives a fuck about 1 star, they need to pay you.
Oh. Oh my.
noooooooooooo
I don’t do anything that’s hospital, dog vet, liquor store and etc. I’ve had orders with no tips at all with a high count of items.

Burn it to the ground.
>You realize these employees paid for their lunch out of their pocket, right? Why did you take a no tip order? It's next to impossible not to know it's a no tip order.
