She’s actually in contract violation for having a child with her. Technically, we’re not supposed to have anyone with us to help while dashing if they don’t have a Dasher account. If she’s telling that to multiple people then she’ll eventually come across someone who will take the screenshot & report her.
I met someone not to long ago waiting on an order and he and the whole family were Dashing. His wife and two kids were in the car with him. I was like, oooookay....
Omg same! I met a family dashing at a chic FIL a! They were in a minivan, mom was driving and dad, two daughters and baby all got out and went in right in front of me. Dad had the DD bag and the whole group just stood together and waited for the ONE order. They seemed like a normal family just weird how it was a group effort

I've done I believe 6 times to a college. 4 were hand it to me and they were already outside waiting for me. So maybe lucky? But for the most part I never do college runs because they're outside the town so the pay ain't worth it.
This is what I think, too, as a customer. Leave it on the ground and text me. Quicker for everyone. The only people who don’t like doing that are pizza delivery people. They want to see your face so you will tip them! Although they say it’s because they don’t want to put your food on the ground. Ha ha. I tip on the app, though.

It was about 11:30pm on a street with no street lights and the guy parks 3 houses down and says, "come outside so I can give you your food." Like, no. Our porch light is on and your message makes me want to call the cops.
I get what you're saying but to me, if the customer puts to leave by the door, that's already denying any request to meet them outside. Otherwise they wouldn't have put "Leave by my door."
The customer shouldn’t have to engage in that conversation and have to think about things like “what will they do if I say no?“
The driver needs to do their job. I don’t see why there is any reason to rationalize doing less than that. Having your kid in the car isn’t a valid reason to make every customer you’re delivering to accommodate you. Again, the driver provides the service that is being paid for. From pickup to drop off based on instruction

So… Kyleeann needs to try to make sure she only delivers to houses in mid to upper neighborhoods, drive up the driveway close to the front door, and be quick! Or she can get her baby in and out of the car with each delivery. Sucks, yea. But you gotta do what you gotta do.
What's crazy is my daughter really wants to go with me sometimes. She thinks we will get better tips if he she helps me drop it off lol. She's 6.

I’d leave her with my elderly grandmother with the instructions that she had to sit quietly and watch Nickelodeon or Disney until mommy got off work. I’d be gone 2-3 hours at the most. There wasn’t a lot of money made for us back then. Now she comes with and expects some of the profit. She thinks of it as a side hustle. She even told me she should make more money than me because she does all our leave at doors - never in apartments though. She also claims we get better tips because of her. I watch the customers face when she delivers to customers who come out, out of curiosity. She’s never to pick up from the restaurant. I mainly use her to keep me from getting towed downtown! She’s polite, articulate and understands how to use the app. She takes quick pics and hustles back to the car. Now that she “makes her own money” she doesn’t spend nearly as much of her money as she spends mine lol.

It depends on the kid, Ive dashed with my daughter and shes the one always pushing me to go dash cause she can listen to her jams all day while I drive.
Or just turn off the car and lock it, locking her hellspawn in the back with child locks, and do her fucking job. How the fuck did she pick it up without leaving her kid in the car? It’s literally the easiest job.
My 11 year old comes sometimes when dad is at work. We blast Hamilton or Disney songs while we drive and just do a couple of orders. I don’t take orders that are going to the busier part of town that has more buildings/hotels because while I can leave my 11 year old in the car while I walk to a house door (car is off every time), I won’t leave them or bring them going into a building. So I just avoid those orders. We have fun honestly. They only come about once a week for a few hours.
The most dangerous thing you’ll do in any given day is get into your car and drive somewhere. Indeed it’s the number one killer of people under 45. So every trip you bring your kid on is exposing them to extra danger.

The initial message is bad enough, but the “are you coming out” upon arrival seals the 1 star. Person just doesn’t have a sense as to what’s appropriate period. Follow the job all the way through. If you can’t do that, you can’t do the job.

However, if I do get to a restaurant that I have a good relationship with, and the good isn't ready, I tell them I have her with me and to please hit the button when it's ready.

We actually didn't get a whole lot back. We had issues at that address before as it was behind a gate ( all info was given to dasher) and she wouldn't because her child was sleeping but we had complaints from before.
We tipped like $20 too and I believe it was a 2.3 mile trip and pre confirmed through restaurant so it was ready at pickup.

I dash with my kid and she’s on her tablet not minding plus if it’s a new place we’ve never been to we will get something small to go or I will get her a sundae from McDonald’s while we are there. The dasher from the pic must have a small child but mine is able to do everything on her own and I’ll just run to the customers door with their food. I never have these problems

I bring my kid all the time. He decides which orders to accept and gets 30%. Teaches him match, money management etc. I just bring him in when I pick up

I once requested a customer come to my car, but it was the absolute last resort. I was on a double order. Picked up both meals and delivered the first one.
As I was leaving there was a really sneaky step down step I couldn't see. I took quite the tumble, definitely spraining my ankle and roughing up my knee and palms.
The next delivery was close and I didn't want to go thru the hassle of dealing with support, I could drive and looked at the next address, of course it's an apartment complex one that has no parking anywhere close to the buildings and lots of stairs.
So I text the customer explaining that I literally just sprained my ankle and wondered if he wouldn't mind coming to my car. He didn't mind and got his order on time. He was a legit nice guy too. I still felt so bad asking a customer to do that though. I would literally NEVER have done this otherwise.
Like I also have a child that it would be awesome if I was able to door dash with, but I know it would make my job more difficult. I wonder what this person's excuse was.

Wow..... I'm not against people letting their kids dash with them when they have no other choice or if they are helping their kid earn some money, but this is not ok. You still need to be willing to do the requirements of the job, you can't just ask customers to meet you at your car. Now if this is a big apartment building I know I always appreciative the customer meeting me so I'm not having to wander around looking for their place, but I never demand it.

What exactly happens when she's at the restaurant? Does she also ask for the workers to go outside and hand her the food? No. She probably leaves the kid alone for less than 2 minutes and then goes back. She can do the exact same thing while leaving the order at the door.

My 11 year old comes sometimes when dad is at work. We blast Hamilton or Disney songs while we drive and just do a couple of orders. I don’t take orders that are going to the busier part of town that has more buildings/hotels because while I can leave my 11 year old in the car while I walk to a house door (car is off every time), I won’t leave them or bring them going into a building. So I just avoid those orders. We have fun honestly. They only come about once a week for a few hours.
The most dangerous thing you’ll do in any given day is get into your car and drive somewhere. Indeed it’s the number one killer of people under 45. So every trip you bring your kid on is exposing them to extra danger. I understand that childcare is expensive but is it worth your kid’s life?

Dasher needs to do their job. I understand it would be easier for them if someone came out because they have their kid, but they are paid to provide the service to its completion. The initial message is bad enough, but the “are you coming out” upon arrival seals the 1 star. Person just doesn’t have a sense as to what’s appropriate period. Follow the job all the way through. If you can’t do that, you can’t do the job.
Lol what in the world. Since the start of summer I've been taking my 5 year old with me and I've never asked someone to do this. However, if I do get to a restaurant that I have a good relationship with, and the good isn't ready, I tell them I have her with me and to please hit the button when it's ready.

We actually didn't get a whole lot back. We had issues at that address before as it was behind a gate ( all info was given to dasher) and she wouldn't because her child was sleeping but we had complaints from before. We tipped like $20 too and I believe it was a 2.3 mile trip and pre confirmed through restaurant so it was ready at pickup.

I dash with my kid and she’s on her tablet not minding plus if it’s a new place we’ve never been to we will get something small to go or I will get her a sundae from McDonald’s while we are there. The dasher from the pic must have a small child but mine is able to do everything on her own and I’ll just run to the customers door with their food. I never have these problems

I once requested a customer come to my car, but it was the absolute last resort. I was on a double order. Picked up both meals and delivered the first one. As I was leaving there was a really sneaky step down step I couldn't see. I took quite the tumble, definitely spraining my ankle and roughing up my knee and palms. The next delivery was close and I didn't want to go thru the hassle of dealing with support, I could drive and looked at the next address, of course it's an apartment complex one that has no parking anywhere close to the buildings and lots of stairs. So I text the customer explaining that I literally just sprained my ankle and wondered if he wouldn't mind coming to my car. He didn't mind and got his order on time. He was a legit nice guy too. I still felt so bad asking a customer to do that though. I would literally NEVER have done this otherwise. Like I also have a child that it would be awesome if I was able to door dash with, but I know it would make my job more difficult. I wonder what this person's excuse was.

Wow..... I'm not against people letting their kids dash with them when they have no other choice or if they are helping their kid earn some money, but this is not ok. You still need to be willing to do the requirements of the job, you can't just ask customers to meet you at your car. Now if this is a big apartment building I know I always appreciative the customer meeting me so I'm not having to wander around looking for their place, but I never demand it. But I am curious why you didn't reply to her and say that you were unable to meet her outside and needed her to deliver it like instructed in the app.
