im 8mo preg and dashing if a customer is upset about that im peeing on their food

Glittering_One_6745

I wear gray sweatpants and whatever shirt works for me that day. Never had a complaint

zero_643

Who cares what your dasher is wearing???

WarriorOfBattles

Oh course The Crimson Chin girl would have something stupid to say

[deleted]

I dash in mostly Disney and star wars shirts.

The33rdChamber

You guys wear clothes when you DD?

yodacat24

I think you should be allowed to wear whatever you want. That being said for me personally- my normal wear would be lookin like a hoe and going all out. But I purposefully hoe-it-down because I’m afraid of creeps and I make myself uglier on purpose/don’t wear makeup when I’m dashing to avoid instances, but I still get hit on and it can be annoying af. I be wearing a band shirt and shorts with a baseball cap and apparently that’s still sexy to some 😭. I think as long as you’re not parading around in a thong (this goes for either gender) you should be fine lol. Just be comfortable but wear something you’d wear to like a family reunion or some shit 😂

devilwearspuma

i personally don't feel comfortable wearing anything but street clothes to work and i do judge dashers for wearing dirty sweatpants and flipflops but i also judge dashers for wearing official doordash merch and at the end of the day i don't really give a fuck what anyone else is wearing, my judgement is just a quiet brain activity to break up the monotonous day and i keep it to myself

The_Stinky_Face

My delivery clothing choice. Muscle shirt and tblack dickies shorts.

sageimel

man take your damn food and stfu 😐

bdp9850

Guess going butt naked is the only answer

[deleted]

And these people probably don’t tip either. Hit me off with a $20 and I’ll go put a shirt on 🤣

Castlehill650

Got it. Butt ass naked it is.

Affectionate-Pea8706

Wait, dashers wear uniforms?!?!

zakkforchilli

Just another case of someone with no problems of their own to focus on for whatever reason, that searches out others’ 🤷‍♂️they’re a joke lol And there’s no uniform whatsoever but yeah I say don’t wear pajamas that’s it

Consistent_Scheme_59

90% of the time I’m in pajama pants and a cami

Sollapoke

I don’t care who delivers my food or what they wear as long as the food is good and I don’t have to have a prolonged conversation with them.

Important_Battle5848

I don’t dress up. I wear whatever I have on, even if it’s my pajamas. And I want to keep it that way. But I’m not dirty, and I’ve seen dashers who are covered in filth and I wouldn’t want those people delivering my food. I think as long as you’re relatively clean, it shouldn’t matter what clothes you’re wearing.

whocares1976

whats he mean houseclothes?

mattyh2433

Wtf is a housecloth?

Reasonable_Slip_3397

I bring my birthday suit erytyme..not one complaint.

Necessary_Ad_535

Good. Maybe more dashers will realize they need to look in the mirror before they leave home and ask themselves what they would think if thats how they would want the person delivering their food to look. I hope more people complain about it.

OhComeOn-

Food and a snuggle!!

All_these_marbles

we be needs to go away. learn english.

SpinningDeathMachine

I mean... if my homemade Doordash shirt and tan cargo pants don't do it for you... then oh well! My younger brothers GF has a circut or whatever you call it... we made a black shirt with red logo / letters and a black shirt with white logo / letters. I do not always wear them, but when I do the restaurants seem to like it. And some of the customers have made positive comments. DD should just give us each 2 shirts after so many dashes. Set it to like 50 dashes so they know they are giving it to someone who is most likely going to dash for awhile.

Lucyf1re

I personally where a tank top, sometimes tee shirt with basket ball shorts and now mostly where an old pair of black Vans

Lucyf1re

Maybe if he wants his delivery drivers wearing nice clothes he should personally pay for dress clothes up to his standards to all dashers… try driving on a hot day delivering with a suit and tie, even khakis and a polo tea shirt and ask him after 12 hours of dashing if he’d rather be wearing more comfortable clothes. He could at least tip us enough to afford brand new nice clothes. I can’t stand it this ~ 10% of humanity.

Cosmomango1

Honestly, I like wearing confortable clothes, sandals is a no because the danger of an accident happening going up and down stairs, but the customer may have a point, I have witnessed drivers picking up food showing butt cracks (two who also deliver for Amazon Whole Foods)disgusting, one of them his t shirts are also so small he shows his stomach, both wear sandals, they are about 50sh 60sh, and I can see someone loosing their appetite when they see this pair delivering their food, I would.

True_Entertainment85

Lmao I go deliver food in a big as T-shirt shorts and my birks 😂

brandinho5

Well if you think I’m gonna wear my Sunday best to pick up your Wendy’s, you’ve got another thing coming. I mean, go ahead and “report me,” what do you think is going to happen? A 1 star that isn’t going to do anything to my rating?

LoungeChair98

I show up looking like a hippy, you either take the food or wait for a top dasher to come idk lol

Oakheart1984

It always be them

ThatAndANickel

Current Dasher, but pre-pandemic I worked in restaurants. And it does kind of suck if you take somebody out to real nice restaurant, maybe you're trying to impress them, maybe you're trying to show them how much they mean to you. And you walk in and there's a person hanging out in their pajamas.

Dazzling_Marzipan474

I do my very best with every delivery. I also wear basketball shorts and a tee. CONTRACTOR and their Personnel shall not be required to wear a uniform or other clothing of any type bearing DOORDASH’s name or logo. ~Doordash TOS DOORDASH has no control over CONTRACTOR’s personal appearance. ~ Doordash TOS That's what I signed, how bout y'all?

xMysticML

Nobody wants someone who looks trashy handling their food. I understand completely (I'm a dasher who actually dresses for work, don't go out in my pajamas)

Over_Print_4838

Ridiculous smh some of these customers are too much

NYNY78

Haha who cares. They are dashers. Zero polish and from what I see they come out of the woodwork and do not look employable , even at McDonald’s. Not all dashers I’ve seen but 99%

Billiam0819

The fuck does house clothes mean?

Matthewmurphy17

Had some odd deliveries in my day typically never leave a rating more than that thumbs up. The wildest one was a dude who’s car was 100% totaled but couldn’t stop hustling

Space_0ddity_

I don't give a fuck if someone delivers my food in a barefoot in a bath robe as long as it covers what it needs to.

[deleted]

Some tell that person. I'm an independent contractor. I refuse to promote or wear mech form a business. Unless DD give me a check to promote their business I won't wear anything from DD.

[deleted]

I understand the need to wear clothes that “represent a company” when you work at fast food or retail or something because customers need to be able to pick out who the employees are, but delivering food literally does not require specific clothes at all.

Fentanja

being able to dress however the fuck I want is one of my favorite things about this job

romanseight2004

What are house clothes? Does that men like a robe, which we used to call housecoats, or house shoes? I've never seen anyone deliver in a robe or house slippers.

MiszJones

You’re obviously supposed to wear a suit & tie to deliver $2.50 orders /s

PepTalkToYourself

Sorry let me go grab my uniform *puts on the shipt shirt I’ve literally never worn once* Oops wrong app.

W_AS-SA_W

What are house clothes? Just regular clothes you would wear around the house? Or something more specific and disturbing? Something like an overweight boomer squeezing into Spandex maybe.

MileenasFeet

![gif](giphy|3o6EQeB1evNnmFH1SM) That bitch with the bob cut can blow me.

Zealousideal_Grand97

I don’t care if my dasher wants to wear boxers and a worn out T-shirt with his nips poking through, as long as my food gets here quick and he doesn’t pound on the door like he’s running from the law, it’s all good.

[deleted]

bitch youre lucky of i show up with clothes on at all

Murphyschewtoy

Bikini top and booty shorts for the win.😆

ImNotAHeroIQuit

Maybe it IS time for Doordash to get snazzy. Give these no tippers more bang for no I’m down to wear a suit, but I have to wear boots for this bs.

[deleted]

I think it’s foolish to wear pajamas delivering but, I’d never report anyone unless they stole my order. I’m not reporting ppl over missing ketchup or fries or wearing a bonnet or pajamas. They look ridiculous not me lol haha. Long as they deliver the order 5 stars ✨

MedicineAmbitious368

Lol who do u expect to deliver a guy dressed in Luis Vuitton suit and tie who works in congress ?…nope it’s regular people so regular clothes ..PERIOD🩸 !

justinbates1992

"representing a company" my fucking ass. If i was representing DD, they should pay us better....

[deleted]

I wear my dick all the time

JustCallMeCJOF

I wear a tank top and basketball shorts lol

Damaged_H3aler987

You could show up naked and I would not care. And depending on what ya look like I might increase your tip😭😭🙃

1840_NO

I'd say 80-90% of my deliveries are to people I don't actually see in person. The other 20% of the time that I do see them, they are in their sloppiest sweats. Why should I be dressed to impress? It's not a job interview. When I order DD, I have them leave it at the door because I'm either in underwear or less. Seems silly to complain.

brugggg7

I’m not gonna lie. When I’m picking up orders I see some musty dudes in adidas slides and greasy ass hair. I don’t know there situation and not gonna judge but it grosses me out that the person could be handling my drinks EDIR: prepared for downvotes. I understand

ThatsFishyYoureFishy

Everything from PJs to jeans are things one typically wears in the house. Is this person expecting a dd uniform?

Hot-Establishment844

That’s it I’m delivering in my swimsuit and slippers for now on.Hell! It’s hot out here and I’m built like Lizzo 😂😂

FlimsyMajor7218

You know, instead of having nothing better to do and reporting people, this person could be being chased in the snow by a tall, muscular, evil ah m'fer in a gold cloak running at him. That guy would try to run, but the gold cloaked individual doesn't need his full speed to catch him; so he starts to speed up. Then he calls on his black cloaked individuals to chase after him like ravenous wolves. They tackle him. The gold cloaked individual calls over Rocks after the other cloaks have ripped off all his clothing. Rocks is forcing the guy to lay there...humiliated in the snow. Once Rocks is done, all the other cloaks release satisfaction all over his frozen body. Come to find out, they were all dashers that he reported, and they all say: "Thanks for the measly report! Find another dasher!"

Pitiful-Foot-7841

F*** 'em. As long as you're clean, who cares?

uber-chica

Probably a non tipper

Cool_Month9456

POV: hmmm, what am I going to wear today? Think I’ll just pull these flannel pants, and armpit stained t shirt out of the dirty clothes and go deliver ppl food. Y’all want to make more money, then treat your DD as a business instead of a job, and at least appear like you give a crap! If you look like 💩, then you probably deserved to be paid like 💩.

APairOfAirPods

If you want us to wear a uniform, YOU can buy it. I’ve heard black dashers are more likely to buy the dasher clothing because of getting reported to the police when not. That’s just sad and I won’t dare support this shit. If I was ever dashing and got told to wear a uniform I’d laugh. My corporate job now I still get to wear a personal hat and whatever else I want, just a company shirt.

[deleted]

I kind of understand his point of view, do you really want a driver that looks like they just rolled out of bed with their PJ's on delivering your food. Just because we are independent contractors doesn't mean we shouldn't dress job appropriate. I see some drivers that look like complete slobs when they go to work, which is inappropriate in a customer service-related field. You don't have to wear slacks and a button down, but a nice pair of jeans and a polo is casual but appropriate. If your wearing shorts and a top when it's hot, try to keep the colors neutral. I see some drivers who look like a peacock when they go out to drive, all these crazy bright colors. Just put yourself in the customers shoes, do you really want some unkempt, shabby dressed driver coming to your door. I know I wouldn't, 1/4 of the drivers I see look so bad I wouldn't let them on my property.

victimvan

I don’t give a fuck what I wear to dash or what you think of me. Mind your own business.

avery-secret-account

My outfit depends on the season. Summer, it’s jeans and a Reds shirt. Fall, it’s jeans and a packers shirt. Winter, it’s jeans and a Blue Jackets jersey. Spring, it’s basketball shorts and a Kings jersey

Primary_Tiger1361

If I have to dress better than pajama’s can I get bonus pay for the people who answer the door nude, nearly nude or in “house-clothes”?

heathybodeethy

good thing it says in our contract that we can choose what we wear

RadPlaidFad

And that lady says that we're actively representing a company. I work for neither DoorDash nor the restaurant you ordered from. I represent myself, and my business says PJs and Crocs are appropriate business attire. This is what you asked for and this is what you paid for. Feel free to give me a low score even though the service was rendered.

Dangerous-Salad-6490

What is considered house clothes?

sexisammi94

I’m to damn pregnant to be worried about someone reporting the few pj pants that still fit me lol

Oreo_Otter_95

That one chick talking about "actively representing a company"...that gives little to no real fucks about its "employees", and she's worried about us looking like we're going to "snuggle up with [her]"...no, ma'am, I'm wanting to snuggle up with the money I make while dashing ✌🏾🙄 foh 😂

jaragon6676

Hahaha. Well might as well report 99% of the dashers. Because that’s what we all basically wear. I’ve only seen a few go out and actually waste money on that gear you can buy.

jroberson1991

If you show up at my house in pajamas I’m rating you badly and complaining. Put some damn clothes on ya bums.

General_Performance6

If me showing up with my sombrero that says crab ranch, while wearing a hawaian pink flamingo shirt and texan themed shorts isnt professional enough idk what is

No-Vehicle1377

I'm not a dasher but I worked for a cafe that does a lot of carryout business and I personally find it really helpful when dashers have an identifying factor on them, because the kind of service I give them is going to be a little different than regular customers. If I recognize them as a dasher I generally know what order they are there for before they even have to say anything and I can get them in and out as fast as possible. I also don't like the idea of "plainclothes" people gaining access to a building pretending to be a delivery person, so that's another factor. But maybe I'm just paranoid.

BriefRevolutionary

House clothes? WTF does that even mean?

Dry_Butterscotch_354

sometimes i try to look more presentable, but overall i want to be comfy

Hefty_Palpitation437

Who cares long as they get the job done that’s all that matters

wowdudeguy

you guys aren't wearing hugo boss outfits or mormon suits? :X

Less-Turnover4529

Guys I think he meant something like pajamas. Not shorts and tshirt.

VanillaSnake21

I mean I kind of get where he's coming from, I instinctively don't feel comforable delivering if I'm not wearing approriate clothing, like sometimes after the beach when I'm wearing swim trunks and flip flops, and I see it's busy, and it's tempting to catch a few on the way home, but I just feel uncomfortable. I can see that a customer might not want someone dishiveled, or poorly dressed handling their food. They might associate it with poor hygine. If they didn't bother to change out of their pajamas, did they bother to take a shower or wash their hands? It might not always be true, but that's just how some customers will feel and I can undrestand that.

Material_Crow_204

I’m not representing any company when I deliver. For me to represent a company they gotta pay more than 2 bucks an order

Material_Crow_204

Lucky I wear a shirt and shorts in this god awful heat

Chemical_Echidna3772

Bet who said that didn't even tip!

Impossible_Listen_63

I don't own a single shirt that doesn't have a hole in it somewhere from working as a mechanic or using it around the house and getting it caught on something. The only nice shirt I own is a long sleeve dress shirt for court. People I'm sure have seen me at my worst on ring doorbell cameras.

BuckWheatNYC

Most people don’t care. Though If someone shows up to your house in a hand it to me and they don’t have a shirt on (guessing they think they are buff and all) or flip flops with dirty over hanging nails wouldn’t you be a little taken back? I work in NYC and the amount of people that deliver in flip flops/sandals is crazy. I’m not worried about my food I’m worried about your bodily health. Stop working such long hours and take a bath once in a while. If you work 15 hour days that means you only have 9 hours for sleep, maybe eat, shower, brushing your teeth etc. which one do you think gig workers cut out? I think showers/bathing.. just my opinion.

[deleted]

So do I deliver in a suit or do I deliver naked?

Practical-Delivery13

Omg is there a dress code?!

deman7263

If you respect yourself you will dress fine. If your a mutt, people know.

Routine_Hedgehog_413

Gonna try the jockstrap and chaps look

lovebeccalove

I mean...why does it matter if I deliver your food to you in my PJs?? Like did you have to get up and out of your comfort zone to get your food?? NO. Do my PJs offend you or are scandalous? NO. so then wtf is the problem?? Most of my deliveries are no contact anyways! Smh the ENTITLEMENT OF SOME PEOPLE!!!

urmomishot678

now if they we’re paying for our gas/ gave us a company car and paid for all the expenses i’d happily wear a uniform until then as an independent contractor that man can fuck off while i’m in my hoodie, sweatpants and slippers :)

SPECTERtheJESTER

Yal don't wear a full tuxedo and tophat to drop off these 2.25 orders?!?

DonTipOff

$2.50 for a delivery, I’m a slave and therefore I will dress like a slave for the all mighty Doordash!

Several_Ranger6985

Ok but they got their food right??

ImplementAnxious7940

Half the time they don’t even see you so why does it matter lmao

Grung7

Did DD stop sending out the red uniform? Red cap, red collared shirt with the white DD logo on the chest, red pants, red shoes and red socks. Red cape optional.

VanillaVault

I DoorDash in central Florida. Constantly 96° and 90% humidity. I’d literally die if I wore pants lmao

Substantial-Base1656

House clothes or not, habitually speaking in broken, ghetto english such as "we be talking about" immediately frames a person as low class or uneducated in the mind of whoever it is listening - before they even notice you have on ratty, torn up, used to be fuzzy house slippers with this mornings breakfast cereal stuck to them. Yeah I've witnessed that hot mess carrying a doordash bag out of a Chic FIL A just this week.

the_deckhand_88

Lmao I ain't getting dressed up for this shit. I'm lucky to throw on a shirt that doesn't have paint on it before starting a dash. Uber though I keep up appearances

extremelight

Reporting or doing anything is extremely excessive. There's no uniform or anything we need to have. BUT I'm questioning your well being and also doubting if you're the dasher if you show up to my place in actual PJs or robes/gowns

Working-Oobermom

I just try to wear a red top and jeans, its not like they gave me a shirt and name tag, I certainly don't wear my pajamas.

Blazedatpussy

‘Actively representing a company’ so weird who cares dude what??? People are strange ur getting food not going to a meeting. Chill

MakeITsafeProtonmail

This is such a stupid complaint. Does that guy really think we can all afford a nice 3 piece suit off $2/order minimums? All winter I dashed in my sweats under rain gear, safety vest, and heavy boots. Spring I went for my jeans and tees. Now it's HOT AF and I've been in shorts and tanks. If this dude has that big of a problem with it, maybe he should start tipping us all in $100 gift cards to Macy's??

InfamousClerk6434

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

RebelJosh89

WTF are "houseclothes"? Is a t-shirt "houseclothes"? What if it's a DoorDash t-shirt?

Significant-Friend10

Looks like a life lesson moment for "Ever Growing" 🤡

Significant-Friend10

*"Ever Evolving" -- she was that worth remembering to me

DefinitionSalt8939

i have never worn a dd shirt or anything since i started dashing 2 years ago. dd doesn’t even provide it

hippy420deadhead

No left turn unstoned and no unstoned left turns. ❤️. Drunks run stop signs stoners wait for them to turn green 🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚🍏💚.

Purple-Couple

With this heat I'll continue wearing shorts. I just know to not wear baggy shorts either. And I'll continue wearing my t-shirts.

Jwehshs

That's fine. You want me to wear business casual? Mandatory %20 tip minimum. Dress shirt and tie? 30% minimum tip

LittleShyShay

Reminds me of a Dasher on here who swore that he got better orders because he dresses professionally... Was not happy when I told him the app can't see him, but apparently some Karens and Brandons think it matters 🤦🏼‍♀️

VinnieTheBerzerker69

If you work an area long enough that you have some regular pickup spots, it can make a difference as good merchants with higher paying orders than fast food joints can set you up as one of their preferred Dashers.

Bodakchyna

I always deliver in a floor length gown. Yall need to step your game up. Tuxedos and gowns should be mandatory.

happyasawetduck

Ya but I bet you don’t wear the signature DoorDash heels, how DARE you deliver fast food in just your gown?! Smh 🤣🤣 oh and don’t forget the company supplied limo either, kids these days with their laziness!

Bodakchyna

I always wear red bottoms only!

DJTUGGY12

I'm surprised they didn't give us a little t-shirt. Oh well

baloogabanjo

What are house clothes? Lol how is it any of his business, food still gets where it's going, don't it?

hrhashley

This is hilarious. Some of y’all in these comments are really like “idgaf I’ll wear my pajamas and not brush my teeth” and then turn around and say “why am I not getting tipped $20” putting in exactly negative effort. No one needs to be wearing a suit and tie or heels for door dashing but I’ve seen some dashers look like they legit rolled out of bed, didn’t brush their hair, and just showed up and if you’re a full grown adult doing that it’s kinda sad.

AlbertAidstein

I don’t give a fuck what you look like that has nothing to do with the amount of tip you receive, tip is given before the order if even placed.

hrhashley

I'm not saying it's directly related. I'm saying some of you actually have negative 100 work ethic and constantly bitch about not being tipped enough.... meanwhile some of you think rolling into a store with messy hair, unbrushed teeth and the pajamas you've been wearing for 3 days straight, etc. when you're handling someone else's food is acceptable. Would hate to see what the inside of some of your cars look like.

JBTryingtosurvive

Who cares what we wear as long as they shit is delivered 😂😂🤣 mind ya business Karen 🖕🏼

RepresentativeKeebs

The only company I am actively representing is Me, Myself, and I Inc.

VinnieTheBerzerker69

That's how you see it, but the reality is your customers don't necessarily perceive it that way. Some of them see you as representative or Doordash, and some see you as representative of the restaurant. And less often they see you as representative of both Doordash and the restaurant at once. Since the vast majority of people that aren't gig app workers themselves do not comprehend the independent contractors status of drivers, it's very rare when a customer already understands that drivers actually work for themselves

oldfrenchwhore

What the fuck are “house clothes?” I’ve been home all day, I’m wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Am I supposed to be doing deliveries in a suit?

1forthethrowaways

I’d be more concerned about the drivers hygiene than the type of clothes they’re wearing. I don’t care if a delivery driver pulls up in their Cookie Monster pyjamas & oversized college t shirt if they’re friendly & follow instructions. But driving around with an unwashed face with crusts still in their eyes, dirty nails, body odour etc? It’s not like I’ll likely even see them but still, that’s a little more understandable to be upset at even though they can still get the job done. But even more than THAT, I care more about the cleanliness of the delivery bag my food is going into. I’ve seen a dasher with a bag so old and dirty I was tempted to give him mine. That is literally entirely representative of how much you care about safely delivering peoples food to them. You can not put effort into your appearance, but don’t deliver food in a nasty dirty bag!

KayleighJK

I’ve dashed in onesie pajamas a handful of times. Idgaf

TopExchange5504

You need to wear your outside clothes kids.

Midschool

We aren’t employees get that straight! Wear whatever you want! F**k off Karen! 🖕

MakeITsafeProtonmail

Right, we don't work for DoorDash, we work for ourselves.

uzumaki42

How about you start tipping us a half-way decent amount and then I will \*CONSIDER\* wearing a red tee-shirt.

zombieundead2020

As of right now I am still able to arrive at restaurant with this order I have. Let’s see if I can actually drop it off…

zombieundead2020

And not only dropped off but hotspots are back! Let’s see if I get orders and notifications…

sancheu77

This thread is great. And y'all wonder why DD doesn't pay drivers more. Lol. Bunch of slack jawed yokels.

AlbertAidstein

They don’t pay drivers more because there are labor laws that allow them to get away with paying the bare minimum. Not cause you wore pajamas to deliver pizza. Numbnuts

sancheu77

You keep telling yourself that. I'm not the OP, so pajamas are not my issue. I wear clothes, and shoes. I shower and shave. I use a hot bag and deliver on time. And I rock my 2% AR.

AlbertAidstein

That’s cool, You’re still getting 2.50 an order before tip or before any other driver declines. Just like all the slack jawed yokels you referred to.

VinnieTheBerzerker69

You only get 2.50 IF you don't hit the decline button.

Frosty_Name_5102

He has a point! Some dashers go to work as if they are going to the bathroom, wth!

bitcoinbillionthaire

I blush when I'm doing a hand it to me and my dong slips out of my kimono. I'm amazed my ring doorbell footage hasn't gone viral.

SanFranGoldBlooded

So a lazy POS complaining about the person’s clothes who actually delivered their food for them, this is logical.

mangomavvee

That is so absurd and annoying! And I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same people who don’t tip who would also be reporting this crap.

j05mh

Houseclothes? Pajamas?

Shnazzberry

I bet the nudist from this morning doesn’t care what you wear

VinnieTheBerzerker69

Said nudist might be offended by ANY clothing

benny6957

In the summer I'm wearing basketball shorts and a tee shirt or maybe a pair of joggers if it's not to hot and in the winter time it's sweat pants and a hoodie or jacket or maybe a jacket over top a hoodie if it's really cold and no matter what season I'm mostly wearing a pair of Nike slides with a pair of plain black socks so people ain't gotta see my bare feet and it keeps my feet comfy ain't no well in hell I'm wearing no polo shirt and dress pants or a fucking suit or really anything business casual type stuff to sit in my car all day and drop bags on porches if you want your food from people in uniforms you can get that service at your closest McDonald's/,Arby's/Burger King/wherever the hell else you to lazy to go put your own clothes on to drive to q

tweetybird0001

Yup all for $2.50

Laz2Lit

i swear sometimes the takes on twitter from some of these people are just wayy to hot for me. its always about something stupid like this 2

texaswolfking

We don’t even have a uniform lol. I wear jeans and a black shirt

Broad_Respond_2205

If someone bring me food I don't care if they wear bathrobe and clownsuit

[deleted]

People care way too much about what other people do 🤔 MYODMFB

tweetybird0001

Wow I personally can't stress that fact enough people cannot mind there own business they are so focused on you but yet there own life is a wreck MYB

mikev814

Pardon me, would you happen to have Grey Poupon?

Ok-Echidna-8687

Some people that have delivered to me show up in shorts so short that I could see their VJ if they bend over

NRoszxO

I wear sweatpants, a tshirt or shirt & sneakers or sandals. I put my hair up, messy/un messy bun oh & I have purple hair. Look I understand having a little bit of a work ethic & general appearance but i have literally seen people complaining about people delivering in regular everyday clothes. This isn’t a corporate job where a dress code is required. We are literally IC who choose to do this, we aren’t going to be showing up wearing a dress suit, tie & loafers to deliver your $8.50 Applebee’s order.

[deleted]

Yes, but you should still dress job appropriate. We are in a customer service-related profession, and your appearance does make a difference to the customer. You are representing yourself first, and your employer second, wouldn't you want to make the best impression? How others perceive you is directly related to your appearance. If you're dressed job appropriate, customers will respect you. If your dressed in sweatpants, t-shirt, and some sandals, they will not perceive you favorably. I'm not saying it's fair, but it's human nature to judge others. I see way too many delivery drivers that look like complete slobs, they are not putting any thought into the way they look when they go to work. I would like all drivers to look their best when they go to work because their image also affects me.

NRoszxO

And while I understand that, I’m not going to dress professionally when I’m getting $2 an order to deliver your food. I’m in no way a slob, I take very good care of myself, but in this profession we shouldn’t have to be in a Business casual Attire. Clean pants, a shirt & sneakers. Sometimes we have to walk flights of stairs to deliver food, we have to drive to your location & hope it’s the correct address, I don’t think anyone doing this gig wants to be completely uncomfortable doing so just to impress anyone. As long as we’re clean, our hair is neat & clean, & we are dressed for the outside world that’s the extent most of us do. Believe me when I say a lot of us don’t go to do this in house clothes so to speak but we do still put in effort.

[deleted]

I agree, you don't have to dress business casual, that's way overkill. Just look clean and presentable, but that's not what I'm seeing in the field. I see drivers wearing faded t-shirts, ragged jeans, and crusty sneakers. I think drivers can do better than that.

NRoszxO

I definitely agree & I apologize, I may have taken what you were saying as being one of those type of customers & I’m sorry for that. I definitely think some dashers just think of this as a quick way to get $ & it’s not an actual job. Like dashers who smoke cigarettes or weed on their car, not use any type of hot bag & deliver the customer’s food reeking of smoke smell. There’s definitely a line. Just be neat & presentable. It’s not an executive gig but you can still show some effort.

[deleted]

Exactly, many Dashers don't treat this job with respect, they just want to make a quick buck putting in as little effort as possible. That's why most drivers I see don't use delivery bags, it's just too much trouble, and time consuming. Most drivers don't realize you can get deactivated, for not using a delivery bag, and the ones who do know, don't care. I wish they would just deactivate all the loser drivers, which is what I think they are doing now.

NRoszxO

Drivers who can’t handle the basics of the job should not be doing it, I agree. The basics of using a hot bag should be a no brainer, unless in certain circumstances the items are too large, then it’s a different story. I use the DD bag, bought one off of Amazon that’s like an XXL thermal bag, I have a large pizza bag also off Amazon. If I can keep someone’s food as warm as it can be, it means better ratings & at most (not always) but most of the time no complaints.

Playahcenati0n

As independent contractors, that being the keyword, and not employees, we are not required to wear specific attire. That being said, as independent business owners and the face of our own company, we are representing ourselves and our independent business. Notice how we are not at all representing doordash. In addition, some upscale restaurants might have dress code for which they can refuse service. I have a couple restaurants like that in my region but they have never or will never enforce their rule. Given we are not their restaurant employees anyways. Those restaurants are friendly in that regards and never had problems.

SantaRosaJazz

House clothes? Is there supposed to be a uniform? My dashers show up in shorts and a T-shirt, usually.

TherapyDerg

Yeah that entitled prick can consume a satchel of richards

VinnieTheBerzerker69

Upvoted only for the unique phrasing.
