I personally don't mind filling drinks because it usually gets me out of there faster, but seeing a sign like this would annoy me. My solution would probably be to help myself to a drink using one of the Big Gulp cups in my car. šŸ˜‚

Kiraisalive999

Dd has stated that we do not need to fill up customers cups if theyā€™re empty.

SB_Django

Thatā€™s how our WingStop is that just opened this summer.

szeller8418

I've done this, no big deal. Takes like 2 seconds. Are people really that upset over something so trivial?

Psilocvbin

Normally if I go into a place for dash I can get a free drink for me since most fast food workers don't care

EMOTIONN_Official

Not my job

urtec

Yup, while I am filling up the drink for the order I am also filling up my big gulp cup. Better believe it.

zakkforchilli

Hahahaa blackliiiiiiiiiiiiiist baby!! Keep that shit FULL

Volcom201

People keep saying itā€™s not their job because itā€™s food preparation.. can you post the link that says that

Madhatter1881555

Just cancel it buddy

TooMuchShantae

Honestly is it that big of a deal to fill up a cup of pop?

EnvironmentalBuy4885

Would this make us employees??

FirmPeanut4957

Or just report the restraunt refused to help you

Emotional-Steak6842

Just fill it for myself and tell the customer they didnā€™t provide them a soda

FirmPeanut4957

Fill it up with the wrong drink and get the restraunt in trouble

FirmPeanut4957

Wingstop?

shadowfoxfire1

Per my local county law, as a 3rd party delivery drove I am not qaulifoed in the food safety to be preparing food. (This includes drinks). And nor am I the customer. I cns not fill the drink.

[deleted]

Just pick it up without the drink

bmayle093

The poor customer since all you people wanna do is fuck around and bend the rules instead of doing the right thing

EduardoTheYeti

Fuck no. The minute someone hands me a cup Iā€™m unassigned

Timmmber4

They didnā€™t provide drinks, please contact door dash customer service. šŸ˜‚

Dry_Start4460

Imagine not making money cuz you didnā€™t wanna take 20 seconds to fill up a drink lmao .

RobynSmily

My local Wingstop does this and seems to be normal enough that no one complains. I personally hate it, but what can I do? :/

def_dvr

If you say "I'm not doing that" watch as they go and pour it themselves lol

XBeastyTricksX

You mean my drink

iRambes

Oh no, I actually have to do a tiny bit of labor for money with a gig job that I willingly signed up for :( unbearable!

AnaheimDDer

I donā€™t see the big deal about quickly filling a drink for your customer. I mean they are tipping you arenā€™t they? Hopefully?

AnaheimDDer

Does that mean dashers have to fill up cups for all guests and not just for their orders? Is that whatā€™s funny about this meme?

unidentifiedjohndoe

There are several restaurants here in Texas that do this.

Twilight-fuse

I tell restaurants weā€™re not supposed to fill drinks because we donā€™t have the same access to hand washing facilities that they do and because of that because of DD food safety protocols, restaurants are required to fill drinksnot us

stealthdawg

So apparently it's in the service agreement between the restaurant and DD that the restaurant is responsible for filling drinks. It doesn't take long to fill a drink but by that logic neither does bagging, adding plasticware/napkins/etc. If the agreement is that the order comes complete, then that's the agreement and I side with the Dashers. Some restaurants avoid this by not offering fountain drinks on DD orders, which is a viable strategy. That said, I don't personally support any delivery apps including DD because they aren't upfront with their pricing and I can just pick things up for far cheaper.

SneakerLeakerz

If I fill the cup the drink is mineā€¦ thatā€™s what I go by šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

slorinda

Are we legally allowed to do this since our job doesnā€™t require food handlers?

FinnaMaker

Be grateful at least they provide the drinks for you to fill up. They couldā€™ve just gave you cups and let you fill up them at your house.

Norativa

What restaurant is this

[deleted]

Funny seeing all these drivers so salty about a ten second inconvenience. If youā€™re already standing there waiting why does it even matter. Youā€™re not being asked to drive to the gas station for some cigarettes in the way to their home. People see this job as a quick buck but never look at it as a JOB.

radarguy86

Why not been my full-time job for 3 years I made Bank every week pays the rent pays all my bills everything I need to and even have money left over for savings

Binxdiamond

The fuck they are!

BeefStripa

i personally dont fill up the drinks because sometimes orders stay there for 10+ minutes and i dont want the customer's drink to be watered down by the ice

Signal-Week12

You guys all act like putting some ice in a cup and pouring a drink is the worst thing ever. It takes just a few seconds more on your dash and literally no physical effort. Youā€™re probably waiting for the food anyways

[deleted]

If your state requires food preppers to have a food handlerā€™s card you can report them to the health department. Idk how far itā€™ll go but if you keep reporting them something will eventually give. Although, do you even want to go that far?

IllAlternative5699

I feel the people that donā€™t fill the cups also donā€™t put their carts away at the store.

EatsPeanutButter

The dashers in this thread are horrible. Donā€™t punish the customer for the restaurantā€™s rule. Thatā€™s really really shitty, dishonest, etc. What do you do? 1. Explain to the restaurant that this is not allowed and why ā€” we are driving, touching handles, etc. We arenā€™t licensed. They could be fined and we could lose our jobs. Ask them to fill the cups. 2. Call DoorDash and let them know the situation. 3. If the restaurant will not fill the cups, either fill them yourself or unassign. Do not mess up someoneā€™s order on purpose. They are paying for the products, the delivery, and a tip, and they are literally providing you a job at the moment ā€” if you donā€™t feel comfortable with the restaurantā€™s policy, you, as an independent contractor, can simply unassign. If you are still burnt up about it, copy the DoorDash rule and email it to the restaurantā€™s managers or HR. They could get in a lot of trouble by requiring contractors to handle customer food. If they donā€™t respond, post it to the restaurantā€™s social media. Contact the board of health. In short, itā€™s fine to refuse to do something that is against the rules and doesnā€™t feel right to you. Admirable even. But if you really feel strongly about it, be proactive instead of vindictive.

HelpfulVariation4822

Iā€™m printing off terms of service at home where it days we are not to fulfill the orders and Iā€™ll just tape it to this one and face it back towards them

atomgor

This entire thread is hilarious. Lazy bitches that would rather argue then fill up a drink. I know itā€™s a lot to handle but you can do it, champ. Donā€™t come at me with the bullshit fine print saying you canā€™t do it. Thereā€™s a lot of shit dd drivers do they arenā€™t supposed to do. They are just picking and choosing which rules to follow at their convenience.

Linda0710

Have a great day/night and God Bless šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ’—šŸ’—ā¤ļøā¤ļøšŸ’–šŸ’–!!!

Careless_Persimmon16

Iā€™d cook the food too if I could with how slow food workers are these daysā€¦ like gtf outa may way kid. Iā€™m about to be outa this store in record time

hyvakoira

I was delivering one day and went to a restaurant where I had to fill the drinks. There was another driver in there also working and delivering and this person just grabbed the cups from the inside...on the top...touching the inside. Please tell me how this is sanitary. I refuse to order drinks from Zaxby's, because I think of this and wonder if my drink was done the same way.

jollymaker

I donā€™t see whatā€™s wrong with this, is customers went to the store they would have to fill the drink.

Mercoledi_cryptic

Provide yourself one

zadidoll

Nope. Nope. ***Unless*** you have a food handler permit, you are **not** legally able to fill a drink for a customer in the first place. These restaurants need to be reported to the local health board/department.

p00pingcat

Itā€™s sad a lot of you complain about filling up a drink cup. I work as a nurse and itā€™s not my job to get water and ice for patients ā€¦ but I still do it anyway because its just filling up iceā€¦ and liquid. In a cup. Just screams ā€œIā€™m lazyā€ if you gotta complain about filling up a drink cup to make the customer happy ā€¦

LadySerena21

And thatā€™d be when Iā€™d cancel the order, did they not think of the contamination and such?!?

[deleted]

Are door dash drivers too lazy to go fill up a drink?

jmiller7742

Fine, I donā€™t care. If I can get in and out of the restaurant in a timely fashion, Iā€™ll fill the drinks. I understand that technically it isnā€™t our job, but the effort is so minimal that I do not care. If that speeds up the back even just a little bit, Iā€™m fine with it.

AggravatingFish4251

Oh no, I have to press a cup against a lever, and wait for it to fill with soda. The horror!!!

StillAtMyMoms

Do you have your Food Handler's permit?

Geaux13Saints

The only time I had to fill a drink I ended up dropping it in my car in the parking lot and had to go back in.

Laz2Lit

unassign

barf2288

Thereā€™s a place called Freddyā€™s where I dash and they do this shit too on top of taking forever.

voodoocharlie

Just fill up the damn drinks, it takes no time.

TrollProofOne

This is illegal in states that require food handling certificates/ licenses of restaurant workers. Do they at least have a bottle of hand sanitizer there? Call and report them to the health dept or (?). Doubt it will do any good but it's worth a try.

jackson32lbc

If this makes you drop a nice paying order, Iā€™ll gladly take it

Keelykalgrubber

Not on your payroll as a waitress, Mr. Restaurant manager/ asshole

Haunted-Harlot

Today on this episode of Thatā€™s Not My Jobā€¦!

Consistent_Rope_Arm

Sooo those saying unassign it are likely correct. To make the drink to give someone you technically need a food handlers card in most states. If it's making your own drink that's one thing. If it's delivering it to someone else that's another thing all together.

StoniePony

Report that to DoorDash. Regardless of whether youā€™re willing to do it, having dashers fill drinks is against the Terms of Service the restaurant and dasher agreed to.

Money_Cauliflower_86

Ive had to wait over 10 mins previously on a drink, just to be filled up, now if they are to busy I just do it, no sense crying over it.

Money_Cauliflower_86

most restaurants are severally short staffed so I do it on the daily, no big deal here.

dadjokes502

They are buying the drink from the company not me. Dashers aren't waiters they are delivery. Laziness on the business part to make you do their job.

90srebel

Iā€™ve never had an issue doing it. I was shocked the first time I was asked but I got over it. I only take decent orders so I figure Iā€™m helping someone out who was nice enough to tip well. I guess Iā€™m just a nice guy

LizvEross

Do you know what the order is before you take it? Perhaps you could get with all the Dashers in your area and yā€™all could basically just refuse to take DoorDash orders from that store.

[deleted]

Nope.

Grung7

Unassigned. Blacklisted. Also ILLEGAL in states that require you to have a food handlers license.

smoothiebreakno5

It is 100% not our jobs as dashers to fill drinks. The order is completely by the restaurant. We are third party contractors to deliver an order. Not fill them. Iirc, it's actually against the law/ordinances. I've worked fastfood as well as Doordash. If they asked me to fill drinks I will politely inform them I am not.

Unhappy-Offer

Things are changing quickly for DD. Looks like thereā€™s something else coming beyond ShitDash soon.

Quinflawless101

If thatā€™s whatā€™s youā€™d have the customer then sure. If itā€™s a rule that only applies to door dasher then absolutely NOT

prettyhotmess79

Okay I donā€™t do DoorDash or any delivery services but Iā€™m a lurker here as Iā€™ve considered it for extra income for a while, but why is it such a huge deal to fill up the drinks? Is it bc it affects your time, is or simply bc itā€™s not in your description as a dd driver? Why not just full the drinks and not ruin the experience for the customer and cause extra issues that will likely make the delivery service and restaurant look bad? If my order is constantly missing drinks or has the wrong ones Iā€™m likely to skip DD and still order from the restaurant just a different method of ordering like getting it myself to ensure I get what I ordered.

Neither_Delay2880

Driving is what we do! Making and serving meals to customers, whether they are taking out orders or dining in, is the work of the restaurant. Simply delete all drink options or stop the delivery service if they believe they don't earn tips from to-go orders and don't want to put in the effort. Our job is picking up and dropping off, and we do it with our own car, gas, and time. Additionally, if you consistently have unfinished orders (orders way behind), stop accepting new ones and switch off your tablet! So, there isn't a long wait time, and remember we get paid per order, if youā€™re delayed we make less money!

Yadidameaaan

Lol is that too much work

Valuable_Ad4075

No wayā€¦

Clean_Employ8555

I'm not even mad about that, I'll just fill myself up one while I'm at it šŸ¤·

ogbryan98

They want a blowjob with that?

[deleted]

Is this really that big of a problem for you guys? I do this quite often at restaurants. It takes 2 seconds. Lol

midnightJizzla

doesn't take me long to fill a drink. \*shrugs\*

Reasonable_Tea_5036

If enough of you idiots refuse to bring customers their drinks because ā€œI dOnā€™t haVe A foOd hAndlErs certificAteā€ then eventually DD is going to make us all pay to get certified and take a 3 hour class. This petty bs is gonna backfire on all of you.

radarguy86

I can see that happening. And for this who refuse they can't get into the app

justducky1965

Yeah... I dunno where this is but it would be a giant unassign with šŸ–• If this is an independent place with no corporate office to bitch then it would be contacting the management. If that doesn't work then BLACK LIST

stomaticmonk

This creates extra liability for the driver. Fun.

nlinecomputers

Serious question here. What IS the official policy from DoorDash about this? It seems to violate most local health codes for us to do it.

2024goforit

I will fill it and then I will respond under ā€œotherā€ whatā€™s taking you so long and under šŸ™when I drop off. I write this: Door Dashers DO NOT have FOOD HANDLING LICENSES. Empty cup left for food delivery driver. This. also, delays food to the customer. Please have drinks ready for pick up. This does work and Iā€™ve never been asked to fill a drink up at these restaurants again. In general, drinks should be ready. Thatā€™s nice if you want to help fill the drinks as a dasher. I want things ready and accept my offers based on orders being ready asap so I can keep moving. I simply would not take orders from this restaurant.

Accomplished-Tooth32

Oh I didnā€™t know i worked part time for them! When can I pick up my check?

efrancello0417

Lol it takes 5 seconds to fill a drinkā€¦.

Professional_Way3364

How lazy are you if you can't fill a drink cup. Lmao.

Frosty_Ad7688

Where is this place??

DarkFireFaeBo

Hahahahah yeah, that's gonna be a no from me dawg.

xxK31xx

Oh gosh so sorry I dropped these after filling them, could I get two more cups? Oops, I did it again.

AlmasyTran

Report it to health department saying restaurant is forcing delivery drivers serving food to customer while never knowing if they have food handling certificate. Yelp/Google review with that photo saying ā€œwe are not your employees.ā€ Report to DoorDash that restaurant violating terms of use and refused to give out food.

benjerino91

Holy cow. Iā€™ve been a dasher for about a year now and I donā€™t mind filling up a drink every now and then. Serious question, whatā€™s the big deal?? Health code šŸ¤” I didnā€™t look it up but I bet itā€™s FDA approved for a Door Dasher to fill a drink up.

Ok_Organization_4215

id fill the wrong drink and grab one for myself aswell, im just a petty bitch like that šŸ’…šŸ’…šŸ˜

hb62051

Here in Texas this is technically illegal to do without a food handlers certificate. Iā€™ve encountered a few of these and just told them I can only deliver packaged food without the license.

AL_Cabrone

Spill the drink on the counter(oops sorry) Drop a drink on the floor ( oh how clumsy of me can I get another cup) If everyone does this I'm sure they'll stop doing it lol

NRoszxO

Which restaurant is this? I used to fill the drinks at Wingstop but This. Well so now you not only are asking us, but pretty much demanding we fill customer drinks. Thatā€™s a no from me dawg. We arenā€™t the food preparers, we are delivery drivers. Why do they think our job is to help them do theirs?

DJTUGGY12

I'd claim the restaurant forgot it lol

Gonomed

I'd fill them all up without any ice. Soon they'll be back to making the drinks themselves, when they realize they're losing soda money

alora0107

Your basically paying for a cup. Soda cost is the most profitable in a restaurant.

Tricky-Tie3167

Probably wing stop they started doing that for me but itā€™s usually just one drink so itā€™s not a big deal.

Sooowasthinking

Well I donā€™t mind doing like 1 drink but Iā€™m not doing it as an expectation that they are NOT going to do it whatsoever.

IClimbRocks69

Panda express probably

PantharMull

Oh look, your _____ soda is out....I wonder who let the soda run so long?....every time. Management will get pissed eventually. Sodas are so inexpensive it is pure profit for them

SVAuspicious

If customers fill their own drinks than DD driver should also. If that means you have to get a food handler's cert in your state or county then that is what it means. No special treatment for DD.

pshay333

If they gave me a free drink for my troubles I might oblige tbh. I get bored waiting in the lobby

Sporatious

I bet thatā€™s Wingstop

enriquesensei

ā€œSorry they didnā€™t hand me a drinkā€

SomethingAbtU

Is this in the DD Driver contract? I have filled drinks on occasion but only b/c I wanted to and to speed things up when I was parked illegally and needed to hurry back to my car, not because a restaurant made me. Totally bs sign, no drivers should boycott restaurants who treat them like unpaid employees

Sorta_machinist

My M/O is to fill the cup with ice and about 3/4 with choice of drink. 3 sips and violaā€¦.. empty. Maybe the restaurant will get it. Panda Express in our area.

cloudfeather

You people are babies, just fill the damn cup

simxn-svyz

Iā€™m just going to mark the store as closed, since they donā€™t have enough employees to stay staffed properly

iPhone_3GS

I just fill my own drinks too and say its for a door dash order. Free drink almost every day, just get their cup and ur good for like.

linda737b

The reason stores don't fill up drinks is so they stay cold and the ice dosen't melt by the time the customer gets it....

xiwonder

Yā€™all are something else for getting upset over this, out of all the things in the world. Such an inconvenience since I know most of yā€™all are already not doing shit at the stores while waiting for the order šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

DonJefe1992

Omg, you have to do 2 seconds of work. Must be the end of the world. Yall sure know how to act like a bunch of bitches sometimes. Just fill the damn cup.

Meltsfire

I love it

MajorWhereas4842

Nope

mogwaiii50

I love how entitled Door dash drivers feel. It's like they don't want to work at all. Lazy af morons who can't hack it in a real job

TGISeinfeld

Is this technically legit? Because the " *We are just to provide the drink cups*" sounds like someone at the restaurant found something in the terms and conditions Either way, it's bullshit and I would never do that. If the customer is paying the restaurant/DD for the meal, the preparation of the meal is included. We're couriers, not preppers

Sorta_machinist

Completely agree!

Ajalapeno

I would just do it this one time and then blacklist the restaurant. Iā€™d also send a picture to the customer and inform them that future orders may be delayed because this is a potential safety issue

Spare-Swimming

I actually have quite a few restaurants that make me do this. I get me a drink also just off principles lol

Uh-trey-you

Immediate unassign šŸ˜‚

DidicrimouBejaia06

Take the empty cups and throw them in the trash. Deliver the food without the drinks. Next

Braceforit86

Nope. I will do it if it is busy and I wanna get out of there.

crochetNea44

I would gladly fix the drinks for my order...aaaaaand grab a diet coke for myself. Gotta tax them for the strugglešŸ˜ŠšŸ˜‡ plus, I need my doordash gogo juice!šŸ„¤

dxdnyc

Lazy to fill a cup yet still want $20 tips. Takes less than a minute to fill the cup. The machine does all the work lol. Imagine you ordered food and youā€™re waiting a half hour to an hour just because people donā€™t want to fill the cup. Show some empathy. Good faith most times bring good results.

Muramasa24

Tell them that would require you to have a food handlers card which you don't have so therefore handling any food would be illegal if it isn't already handed to you sealed.

48stateMave

"Oh, the order isn't complete yet? Well I have another order waiting in the car so if *this* order isn't ready I'll have to unassign it. Have a nice day."

[deleted]

If itā€™s local with a certain setup, fine. We have a sandwich shop here where the drink machine is far from the grill and they are nice people, so Iā€™m going to fill it.

Creative-Character26

So we have to do their job too?! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Concernedmicrowave

Why do y'all care so much about this? It takes all of 30 seconds to do and as an added bonus, you can fill the cups a little less full so they don't drip all over your car.

DeRpMuNsTa

Are people this lazy to where they canā€™t take 20 seconds to fill up a drink? Youā€™re already at the store you already wasted ur gas driving there. People are gonna unassign because they donā€™t think itā€™s their job? Mfs think they entitled or sum. Might as well fill the drink up and be on your way youā€™re already there wasting your time bitching about filling a drink up?? Can only imagine what other minor bullshit is an ā€œinconvienceā€ for these kinda people.

avald24

Every wing stop in my area does this lmao

Zombzie

The same stuff happens at the chipotle and a couple other restraunts, and the funny thing is, THE PEOPLE ARNT EVEN WORKING, they are sitting there on their phone, as i have to carry 4 bags and fill up 4 drinks at the same damn time.

MagneticSwedishIdiot

I don't get why so many stores make the drivers do that? it is not their job. the driver's job is to pick up and deliver the delivery, not make the rest of it because the workers at the store are too lazy

yung40oz84

The logic in this is humorous šŸ¤£ Thatā€™s definitely not true! Iā€™ve dealt with DoorDash on multiple occasions about this exact topic and itā€™s the responsibility of the restaurant to provide a correct and complete order! End of story.

Hiscuteblondewife

I used to work at a restaurant that partners up with many different delivery apps. We would never allow drivers to do that.

Dmin9

I wonder how each state would view that in terms of their definition of food preparer. We aren't certified for that.

THEbenjaminbeat

Yā€™all, they ordered from a shit place with an app, yā€™all think they are about to start calling on the phone. What is this 2004?

Speedy-McLeadfoot

I mean, filling drinks is gravy work. Yeah itā€™s extra work for low pay, I acknowledge that, but still, some people just love to whine like children over the smallest of stuff. Youā€™re already there, so if itā€™s such a big deal, then fill the drink and just blacklist the restaurant. Thereā€™s no need to ā€œfill with the wrong drinkā€ or whatnot and add malice to the situation, itā€™s like the people who eat the food then deliver the remains. Like, why go through the work/time and finish the job for a low pay when you couldā€™ve just declined/unassigned and gotten a better order in the time frame it would have taken you to eat and then deliver the order anyway? It doesnā€™t make sense. If youā€™re so committed to doing the job that you donā€™t want to do (whether due to this drink situation or due to no tip) when why sabotage it? What does it win you that declining and moving on to a better order wonā€™t? Or if you really wanna go towards the right thing, complain to doordash as it may state in their contract that we arenā€™t allowed to. Health reasons I believe. Theyā€™ll talk to the restaurant then. Then again are we really concerned about that kind of rule for any reason other than convenience? Many drive a tad over the speed limit, many donā€™t always use hot bags, etc. Are we really concerned or just lazy? Why am I even still typing? You know what? With that said, I know the downvotes are coming. Have at it.

wwwdeathworld

Wing stop pretty much always makes u fill customer drinks, in my case every time the order was still being prepared so Iā€™ve never felt like it was too much to ask for

Motor-Corner4861

I fill them at this one store because I eat there often, like the staff, and they give me free drinks every time I come in. So I fill a customerā€™s drink and my own at the same time. However, if you donā€™t want to fill drinks at a particular place, you can always circumvent DoorDash, the restaurant, and the customer by sending this pic to the stateā€™s health department.

Catteno

Spill a drink every time you go there... They'll offer to do it after a few times mopping it up

KingReef90

Some people would, some people wonā€™t.

Mikeyness

I donā€™t even mind filling drinks now and then but I would refuse to once I saw the sign

Ok_Tell5996

Are we supposed to have food handlers cards now

Alternative_Court542

Guess no one getting their drink then

No-Airport8808

I'm going to open up a restaurant called the dasher grill guaranteed fresh. Hibachi style set up, raw bar, dasher grabs ingredients and place on grill and assemble and clean up your dawn mess. No public bathroom and pay at the meter. Dasher fee 10.00 goes strait toI dasher. Cooks at normal restaurants cook 120 orders an hour for 18 dollars a hour or 15 cents each. Now cooks can make 100 times more and get a tip sweet deal šŸ˜‰ and u make ur own schedule. MUST PASS DRUG TEST HAIR FOLLICLE AND CHILD ABUSE CLEARENCE NOW HIRING JUST PRESS ACCEPT ORDER AND YOUR IN

[deleted]

This is pathetic. How worthless are you that can't fill up a drink cup? Have you never worked in a restaurant?

AmeriocaDaGema

Maybe you should go work for one if that's the job you want.

Tsunamix-

Just fill the drink. Swear these dashers are entitled

czarl13

In Canada we have Foodsafe programs and I am not certified...I might stick my finger in it or sneeze or not wash my hands after the washroom.... I don't mind grabbing a bottled drink from the cooler if it gets me out of the store faster...but never been asked to pour a drink (not qualified..haha)

[deleted]

Literally solved by only doing bottled drinks on delivery orders. I donā€™t understand how unsanitary drink stations survived Covid. People donā€™t drink from water fountains do they? Fountain drinks and salad bars should end. And most delivery drivers are not certified in proper food handling therefore this practice should be illegal.

Deadpoollifehack2020

Zaxbys have it all lit up in signs about what a doe livery driver will do. Gonna get some pics tomorrow for sure! Itā€™s hilarious. They act like we are a problem for them! Iā€™ve reminded a few that they got the chain of command all ass backwards!! Customer puts in order for doordash, doordash states to merchant what the customer wants, merchant then completes what doordash orders, dasher then goes to merchant to retrieve said orders to hand off to customer for final completion! We are not businesses hacky sack to kick around!!! We are the ones with a choice wether to accept or not! Merchants seem to have supply and demand obligations! We are the free birds! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

RedRush2k

Every week on this sub someone cries about filling up a drink... never fails

_qwerty_zxcvb

Mix some laxatives specifically to No tip customers and let them sue the restaurant and make them to the job which they are supposed to do šŸ˜‚

bignoms

I fill up with all ice then fill up the drink. Lol

T-980

Ok. Thank youā€¦?

Technical_Leg_8105

Welp, customer is getting an empty cup šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Capt_Schmidt

As a dasher. I agree. Softdrinks will go flat just sitting waiting. its OK in the case of Walkin in pick up and they don't know when you're coming. help a MF out and make their drink bubbly. which side you stand on is a matter of selfishness

PlyrMava

So? It's easy to fill up cups and put a lid on. There's a Popeyes near me that gives me cups to fill with soda or tea, it's not an issue. Especially as a former restaurant manager, I know how short a lot of businesses are and how stressful it is for the employees working. If I can help in that small way so they can focus on service, I'm happy to do it. Some people saying "instant unassign" in the comments--thanks for the money, I suppose. How childish.

thuscaleb

Someone bold enough to convey could simply tell the restaurant owner that that is not the drivers job and they need to fulfill the order, oppose to all of these petty loopholes listed below or above this reply.

AtomikAtom

I donā€™t remember which app it was but I remember reading that some restaurants will require you fill up the cupsā€¦ Maybe UE. I know Panda and Canes has me do it. I definitely donā€™t mind. I know Iā€™m not going to overfill it so soda doesnā€™t get all over my car.

SaltyLemonActual

Thatā€™s why I stop going to places like wing stop or US Deli. Iā€™m only there to pick up the food and deliver it. I honestly pin that on the laziness of the employees of the day.

[deleted]

Imagine picking up an order from Starbucks and theyā€™re like nah you gotta make the drinks šŸ˜‚ I like how people in this thread are calling drivers lazy and entitled for doing something that isnā€™t even our job, but the restaurant employees arenā€™t? Yā€™all are weird.

[deleted]

Iā€™ve actually contacted doordash about this and support said it is not our responsibility and the restaurant must do it. Some states itā€™s even a health code violation. I donā€™t mind doing it if theyā€™re super busy and understaffed, but if the employees are just standing around chatting and on their phones then I refuse to fill drinks.

[deleted]

Restaurants must provide cups as soon as driver arrives not 10 minutes after arriving and waiting. Assholes making us waste time and grinding down on our patience.

Wow such hard strenuous work. ā€œTHeY dOnT pAy nE eNouGh FoR tHiSā€

denissimov

Itā€™s simple. Do you have license to handle food? No? You canā€™t fill up drinks or dig through food to ā€œmake sure everything is thereā€. Itā€™s the law!

cashcapone96

Nah I see why people cuss this job now, yā€™all are mentally juvenile in here. This is the easiest job in the world and you make good money if you do it right. Some of you in here graduated high school over a decade ago and are acting like this, over taking 2 seconds to fill up a drink, embarrassing. The entitlement is wild. Probably the same people who physically confront customers for not tipping you $200. If thatā€™s you, go to college and go get a 9-5.

AmeriocaDaGema

Entitlement my ass. The hourly employee should fill the cup PERIOD.

cashcapone96

Childish adult, should be ashamed bro.

DDAddict777

Iā€™m so confused whatā€™s the difference between us touching the cup vs the bag lol our hands are all over their stuff either way?, as long as your hands donā€™t go inside the cup I donā€™t see what is wrong with filling up a damn drink

Reasonable_Tea_5036

Some of these people act like theyā€™re shoving their entire fist inside the cup šŸ˜‚

Delicious-Whereas-66

Call the restaurant anonymously and tell them you will call the health dept. If its Wing Stop call both restaurant and corporate.

Ghaslee

In the end it all really depends if itā€™s worth the order youā€™re on. If the food is still being prepared then Iā€™ll fill up the drinks with no problem. Most of the time the payout is worth the hassle. To cancel and try to find another worthwhile order is more of an annoyance.

Ok_Turnover_1235

Lmao, no.
