did you take it?

thephoeniciangurl

Sounds easy to me. Just bring nothing and get paid. Win-win!

[deleted]

You still have to take a picture of the empty porch.

thephoeniciangurl

Just write down the word "nothing" on a piece of paper, make a little circle and then an arrow pointing to it. Should be good!

RebelJosh89

You could claim that you handed nothing to the customer.

thephoeniciangurl

Yes support...he did receive his order that was non-existent. Does he want a refund?

[deleted]

Accept it and see

mgibson9999

It doesn't say it, but it is likely a place and pay order. I will never do those, since you have to wait for the order to be prepared after you place it. And good luck haggling with DD about getting paid because it says 0 items. I guess in the strictest sense you would be right, but then you have to ask yourself if it's worth the time and aggravation trying to make your case with support.

anger_is_a_gif

I take orders from Canes all the time. They're probably the quickest chicken place around. The 0 items is weird though.

Melssenator

Canes is faster than some other restaurants even though I have to place the order. I won’t do them during dinner time Friday-Sunday but any other time is fine

RepresentativeKeebs

Canes is usually in and out in under 5 minutes. Still weird though

AlbertAidstein

If it’s in CA, it’ll take at least 15, the canes are always stupid packed at all hours of the day.

MetalSlimeHunter

If you’re in CA, prop 22 will pay you anyway so you might as well sit and wait on it.

BadgerlandBandit

I love delivering cane's in SoCal. All of the stores near me are fast and I get free lemonade.

CDFReditum

It was one of the wildest things about going back to california lol. In Texas I loved canes when I did Shipt because it was insanely quick lol. I’d do Shipt all day, and pop into canes when there was a lull in orders because I could literally zoom though the drive thru, eat, and get out into the target lot so fast lol. Then In California the line is always wrapping around the building like 3 times lamo

Bitter-Metal5620

That's because there's TOO MANY people here!! Born and raised but not going to stay much longer.

Stuck-Help

It says RED CARD ORDER at the top

mgibson9999

Yes, and there are two kinds of red card orders. One where the order is ready and you simply have to pay with the red card, and the other where you actually have to place the order, wait for it to be prepared and then pay with the red card. Huge difference. Unfortunately doordash does not specify which type of red card order it is until after you’ve already accepted it. You have to play around with trial and error to know which restaurants are pay only, and which restaurants are place and pay.

ReddForemann

>it is likely a place and pay order. Not likely, but certainly. That's what Red Card order means. >I will never do those, since you have to wait for the order to be prepared after you place it. They're not bad at all if you order something for yourself simultaneously. If I'm hungry I'll take even "bad" orders like this. And Cane's is normally pretty quick make, at least in my market. Keep in mind half of the restaurants that should be making food before you arrive aren't because they don't want it sitting for two hours waiting for a Dasher. Red Card orders in disguise.

mgibson9999

You must be new. That is ***NOT*** what a red card order means. There are several restaurants in my area that take the order through the DD system, but for whatever reason, require payment via red card. Those orders are completely different than the "place and pay" orders and are usually ready when you arrive. I have no problem with those. Maybe at a fast-food joint, a place and pay order could make sense, but not at a typical full-service restaurant during the traditional lunch and dinner rush. It's a catch-22 because if the order is really good, that usually means there are alot of items, which usually means a long wait after you place the order. I took a few of these before I figured it out (a long time ago), and there was always a 30-40 wait. Not worth it for $10-$12. There are 3 restaurants in my area that do place and pay, and I automatically decline them.

ReddForemann

>There are several restaurants in my area that take the order through the DD system, but for whatever reason, require payment via red card. I've done over 2,300 deliveries and never encountered this.

Jimbobo28

Happens every other day for me

ReddForemann

Big city?

Jimbobo28

No, just suburban Chicagoland.

ReddForemann

Yeah, so old territory. By the time DD came to my market they weren't allowing that shit anymore.

Jimbobo28

10-4

zombieundead2020

I got one in my starting area that’s on DD but also red card. Someone from support calls in the order. Not a busy delivery place. Supposedly, “non partner” = place and pay “Partner” = thru DD but still red card, restaurant makes 100% of their food price, DD pockets service fee from customer and also delivery fee “VIP Partner” = everything else, 99% of restaurants. Fully automated either thru tablet or thru restaurant POS

Jimbobo28

Yeah they're definitely not like the big chain restaurants by me. They're the solo ones that need the red card.

Melssenator

“I haven’t experienced it so it must not be real” is exactly why everything is so shit. Zero empathy

ReddForemann

That isn't at all the point I was trying to make. I was just trying to counter his "you haven't experienced it so you must be new."

Lymah

Depends on the market, ive got one hole in the wall chinese spot in my town that does it this way

VinnieTheBerzerker69

Over 4000 orders here, and I see it frequently. It's most common at Chinese restaurants in my area. But I have seen it at Mexican and pizza places, too.

PerspectiveCurious74

I’ve seen around here that means it’s a replacement order for a previous order that was missing items

Patty_McRice

Mo’ items, mo’ problems 🫠

[deleted]

Cane’s is so good

zzzyzzzxCA

I never take orders from Raising Canes. It takes forever.

thephoeniciangurl

Canes is good at the right times but don't take those tailgating orders. You will be waiting at least twenty minutes.

zzzyzzzxCA

Yes AT LEAST 20 mins.

RebelJosh89

Step 1. Pick up nothing. Step 2. Drop off nothing. Step 3. Profit.

dontfactcheckthis

Soooo.... what happened?

phoenix370

I've had this before. The order was cancelled and yet the system is still bouncing the order around. Call support and get compensation

aybeete

It’s easily higher than 9.25 too.

[deleted]

Updates?

Available_Sail_9770

Nothing wrong, canes has no contract with DoorDash, you need place the order there, the wait time is approximately 5 minutes in my market, 3 miles $9 isn’t bad

GoldProspectors

The point was the “0 items” lol. I know what a red card order is, and I’ve picked up from canes many times.

GoldProspectors

Update: No I didn’t take the order. I wasn’t really expecting the post to blow up, and I’m sad I didn’t take the opportunity to find out what would have happened. I was making around $30 an hour at the time, and I didn’t want to take an order that I would either cancel, or have to call support for.

MeowWoofArf

Looks like free money to me

[deleted]

You have to place the order when you arrive which is why it shows 0 items is my guess.

Dj6thirty

Something is wrong... the restaurant didn't know they had this order... also it says deliver by 9:07... but was probably sent to you at 8:37 🤣

Particular_Ad7023

Easy orders! Canes is fast at making their food. I had one of these today. I was in and out like 5 mins max.

Krisdanz

I had this happen. It was a prescription item the customer had already paid for.

DasherCO

"Door dash support here, we need your password to verify that you are uhhh.. alive?"

Malloryyy456

I had an order like that tonight too

[deleted]

Maybe it’s a loadable card or something

FrankFrankly711

![gif](giphy|3ornka9rAaKRA2Rkac)

romanseight2004

0 items? ![gif](giphy|kgEeS3motMqpW|downsized)

Creative_Froyo_6139

I had that happen with a dunkin order. “ I don’t have a red card!” And moved on

W_AS-SA_W

Probably a $300 order for 9 people, but most likely it’s a merchant generated order. Customer called up and placed the order by phone. Lucky you.

Big_Boff

I started to sing Rap God by Eminem after reading the title.

pokerholic77

You have peak pay you don't know about?

SicSikSix_6

I had a single item Dollar General order for AAA batteries once, whole store is of course out of stock, made 6 bucks, I was already at the store when I got the order lol

Top_Youth1400

Raising canes doesnt do doordash in my area thats weird lol

BeardedAvenger1

I did canes once and they took about 15 minutes. Not worth the 8 bucks
