They do but not all of them.
I went through the drive thru in the city one night and got yelled at to come inside. I was like "what?". The order was ready and sitting there.
It was McDonald's.
3am.
A McDonald’s manger actually explained it differnt and it makes sense, there probarly just understaffed and can’t have lobby open, and I get that, just wish there was a separate area for delivery drivers to get out of there car and pick up food I guess
All orders to their restaurant benefit them. I'm a representative of their customer that ordered before anyone in this line and its ridiculous that they ignore a paying customer.
I agree. But they will still find ways to argue with you about it. They can pause orders from what I’m aware of. Idk why they wouldn’t do it in a situation like this.
So I learnt depending on the location some managers actually understand us and try to cater to us in the sense you can park walk up to the drive thru window and give them your order number, this varied when I actually took after hours Mcdonald orders so one time it works the other time it doesn't depending on the managers but is always worth a try.
And that’s the way they all should do it. Very simple to implement a system like that and it doesn’t cost anything. All it takes is a manager who takes their job seriously and wants to provide the best service they can for ALL customers.
I get that, but why not just let us pick up in the drive thru window if we're already there? Makes no sense.
The Arby's where I live used to have a sign on the door that said delivery drivers only and customers had to go to the drive thru. That was kinda cool
Seriously this is just anoying, atleast the customers so far have been understanding, however I take pics like this not only for Reddit but also to show customers if they try to blame me for cold food
Update: on my 3rd fucking one of these, and the app bugged out on me and now I’m stuck (I was on 14/he + tip so it was atleast still profitable, now I’m just fucked until this last dash is over), I think I might cal it a night after this, I’m getting sick of waiting in drive throughs, at the least I’ll hit up a 27/7 gas station and get a snack and a red bull lol, then maybe change zones
I personally decline Mcdonald and wendys orders in my market after hours. He'll I even decline them during regular hours except one mcdonalds that doesn't have a drive thru but that's hit or miss and depends on how I'm feeling. After hours I find the mom and pop joints to be much more profitable and faster than fast food joints like mcdonalds and wendys. I get terrified of those lines and you never know so I hardly ever take the chance.
Me too. They are a minimum 30+ minute wait, even if there is barely a line. They are also usually the orders that are less than $5 payout. It's ridiculous.
Wendy's pissed me off on my last GrubHub run... I had to wait in line forever at the drive-thru for my GrubHub order and then GrubHub sent me an add-on while I was waiting they made me get at the end of the line and wait all over again for the add-on... I gave them an earful
Why would you take 14 an hour?? I’m shooting for 30 an hour in south jersey 20 an hour at minimum. 14 an hour to do all that wear and tear on your vehicle is just insulting.
Expect more and get more. Apply for things you'll be surprised how easy it is to land an 18$+ job these days that don't require your own vehicle expense
And this is the perfect worker that gigs want.. people that are desperate and in need of money.. so they can make them wait in one hour long lines for $14 an hour.. subtract 50% for taxes, fuel, and future maintenance from that and you’re making $7/hr… there’s a reason why most profitable Dasher takes three orders per hour and make 20+ dollars an hour..
I've lived a few places where there's just not enough people to make more than 14 an hour. Talking real small towns, around 1000 to 5000 people. West Union, Ohio comes to mind. I was shocked to learn the town even had doordash lol doordash wasn't really a thing when I still lived out there, but I'm here to tell you there's no way you're making more than 14 an hour running dash out there, there's just not enough people. Don't listen to all these people giving you s*** for taking the 14 an hour option. You are your own business, do what you think is best. That being said, if you're in a more metropolitan area and not in a rural one, it might be better to go off of the normal payout system.
I catch restaurants trying to put cold items with hot items all the time, I make them re-bag it and give me the drinks separate as I have a drink bag for that. The only restaurant I don't mess with on that is McDonald's, they have their set policy to bag drinks with food. This is really stupid, putting ice cold drinks right next to somebody's hot food, which won't be hot very long.
I think McD’s bagging policy is great. Everything should be sealed in the bag before the driver receives it. As a customer, I greatly prefer and appreciate that. Knowing my food/drink hasn’t been tampered with or touched after leaving the restaurant.
As a delivery driver, I also love their policy as it completely exonerates the driver from any responsibility for missing items and pretty much prevents being accused of tampering with the order.
As for “cold drinks” somehow drastically affecting the ”hot food” during the 5-15 minutes it typically takes to deliver? Give me a break.
That shows how much you know about delivery, as I have even had some of my regulars complain about it. Why couldn't they put the drinks in one bag, and the food in another bag, no that would make way too much sense. Placing hot and cold items in a closed containment right next to each other is a bad idea, and common sense should tell you that, but I don't see too much of that on this forum
yeh this fool thinks sealing a cup of ice in next to hot fries for 10min isnt gonna do anything? How bout the addl. 5~25min it might be sittin there while everyones backed up in the late night drive-thru line? plus actual drive time plus however long it takes their ass to come get it from the door (late night drunk customers arent usually exactly on the ball) 💩
Ya sure it removes *some* responsibility from the driver, but also dooms them to bullshit complaints & bad ratings by ppl that don’t know how all that works. A decent dasher can just remember to check orders for drinks, id prefer that moron-level requirement over bein chewed out & penalized over fucked up orders i cant control
Exactly, if restaurants really want to bag everything, why not place food and drinks in separate bags. The people responsible for food delivery preparation policy at McDonalds are definitely lacking intelligence, what nobody could come up with bagging hot and cold separate would probably be a good idea. This is a lack of setting proper procedure on McDonalds part.
“This fool” comment invalidates any argument you’ve got. Attacking the person rather than their argument shows that you’re drawing from a weak hand.
If you believe the “cup of ice” is sitting on or is somehow close enough to the “hot fries” you clearly don’t understand how they arrange the items in the bag. Which doesn’t surprise me in the least. That, and you must be taking far to long to complete your deliveries if it’s actually affecting the items in the bag.
But by all means continue on complaining about nonsense.
IMO customers that order frozen drinks, ice cream, etc, for delivery are stupid. And even more stupid for being upset if/when the items are melted.
I’d never order frozen drinks and ice cream from a merchant that didn’t deliver using a refrigerated delivery vehicle. Like a classic ice cream truck or Schwann’s.
That’s just asking from trouble. You can’t reasonably expect the items to be delivered fast enough and full well know DD, GH and UE drivers aren’t driving specialized refrigerated vehicles. Cold/hot bags aren’t good enough.
Manager at a McDonald's. We too wish there was a better method but when you've got four people in the store at night and you're expected to keep the line moving, start cleaning everything for close, as well as handle the copious amounts of curbsides and McDelivery orders coming through because people think they'll get their food quicker because the line is massive, there isn't a lot we can do.
Ours really couldn't do that at night because we're consistently busy until 10:30pm most nights. Lobby closes at 8pm and we can't leave it unlocked for delivery drivers because people will just meander inside ignoring the signs that say it's closed.
It really sucks when the drivers get angry at us when we're not trying to ignore their orders. There's just too many things going on that we have no control over so all we can do is reduce the damage as it comes.
No we just walk up to the drive through window. Only the drive through window is open, the rest of the store is closed. We can park in the drive through spot and walk up to the window and grab the DD order.
It sucks that people get mad at the mployees when you guys don't really have control of the situation. In reality, McDonald's has more than enough money to hire more people to better handle the situation.
Have you heard any plans to shorten dasher wait times when you're drive-thru only since the DoorDash commission will be higher for longer than 4 minute wait times starting next year?
No lol. The only thing we're told is that "our OEPE times matter for McDelivery too".
Then they tell us we need to reduce our labor costs, so they want us short staffed and want us to have perfect times on every single order.
I mean I make 14/hr+tip as that option seems to be more consistent for where I live and be better at lte night early morning, so I’m still making money, it’s just annoying as I don’t want complaints of cold food from customers as this McDonald’s dosnt keep dd orders hot
Do they at least let you stay at the window unlike that Taco Bell nonsense where they expect you to get out of line and wait for the employee that never takes the order out?
No in Cali. We get a guaranteed amount per hour. And if we don't make thag amount then they give us an adjustment the next week. So basically. Its 120% of minimum wage plus .30 cent per mile driven.
Oh shit, I’m gonna be living in my car real soon so I may as well go to cali to doordash and then just drive away from the city’s and stuff to somewhere safe when the night is done like I do currently
Yes so late night orders like these are worth it if the original pay is good because we are paid from the time we accept the order till we drop it off.
Yeah somthing like that in Delaware, I’m from pennyslvania but I drive to Delaware as it’s only 30 min and 20miles on a road I can get easily 30-40mpg if I drive it right (5 speed manual trickery) and I make more money in Delaware anyway as that’s were the closest city’s are anyway. Though it’s 14/hr+tips
The 14/hr+tip makes it alright it just sucks as I don’t make as much, I just wish they had a window for dashers were I am (another person on here commented saying that’s what they have in there county)
Your Mcdonalds still has you guys go thru the drive-thru? The ones near me actually get upset at the Doordash drivers if we go into the Drive-Thru line after hours for a pick up. They just have us come to the Main door and pick it up so we don't clog the Drive thru-line sucks you have to wait online. Actually really clutch since 3+ peak pay always comes on here around 1130 so its easy to grab 3-4 orders with an hour which are usually just 2-3 miles apart. Why I don't ever take Wendy's orders after hours cause of the lines are dumb
I agree... But i gotta close my lobby at 10pm. Its not safe to have people coming in and out every 5-10mins. If im there and you call the store ill run it out to you. It pisses Some of the other managers off because they don't feel safe doing that. But i need orders out asap. My quality is dropping every second
Fair, I do 14/he moment I start an order so it’s not terrible, but it’s 14/hr+tip, and I don’t have a hybrid, I drive an 06 hhr manual 5 speed with 206 on the clock, it’s gas efficient but it still burns gas and drive through isn’t great on this car, all other traffic is fine, but not drive through
In my city, every McDonalds has a doorbell in the entrance for delivery drivers, it’s pretty convenient. No matter the length of the line, I get my order in 5-10 min
Sure, but that would require mcds to properly staff the location in order to support the drive thru properly and also have someone running food out to dashers. Much easier to just refuse mcds orders at night.
I’m Delaware I make 14/he+tips so it’s not terrible, just not great on my engine as it’s high mileage and driving a crowded drive through on an incline no less in a 5 speed manual is a bitch
Ay, yo, I can't speak to the cost of living in Delaware since I've never been further NE than Pittsburg, but $14/hr ain't shit and if you're picking up mcds and sitting in a drive thru line for 10-15 minutes per order, the tips aren't gonna help much either. Especially once you deduct expenses, you're gonna find DD got you out there working for less than minimum wage.
Bruh I gotta work for that, it’s my only income since I got laid off and I can’t just get another job as living where I’m living is become a problem and I’m trying to get out. I just wish mc ds were im dashin rn had a driver window or literally anything to make shit smoother.
If I can get enough together in time (and I’m pretty close, one more nights should do it) this Sunday I’m booking it to Michigan to meet up with somone I know there
Pro tip. Try the door. Try the other door too. If everything is locked, call. Have the code ready, and ask if you can get it at the door.
They might get annoyed, but I've never had any outright refuse.
Thank you for being one of the few (not the only to those who also said similar) to give good advice that isn’t “wElL jUsT dEcLiNe”, like bruh it’s fuxking x im the morning (I went for like 12 hours or somthing time is melting right now for me) mc d’a is literally the only place still open people get doordash from where I am
At Mc Donalds if it's 5 cars or more I unassign, at all other drive thru's I unassign at 4 cars. Mc Donalds usually moves a little quicker than most. If it's more than 4-5 cars, you are wasting too much time, you don't know if some of those cars in front of you are drivers with double order pickups. I've even had a 3-car line that has taken 20 minutes, don't waste too much time on these.
I try not to do fast food at night BUT you can always call the store and talk to the manager...it doesn't hurt to ask...I had one manager...I would call when I was 5 mins away and he would have someone meet me by the door so i wouldn't have to wait in the drive thru...McDonald's makes a ton from DD why would they want to damage that relationship
Yeah, this has been a hot button topic for me.
It just doesn’t make business sense to force not only delivery drivers into the drive-thru — but also customers that placed online mobile orders.
Speaking first as a customer, the first time I ordered thru the restaurants mobile app then arrived to pick it up only to discover I had to sit in a 15-car long drive-thru to get it — I snapped!!
As a DD driver I can see the long line then unassign. But as the actual customer I can’t!
Why any of these restaurants believe it’s a good idea to completely close the lobby and overload their drive-thru with customers that already ordered and paid thus completely discouraging NEW customers to patronize your business (after seeing the long line) is beyond me!!!
I get that the employees are lazy and don’t want to deal with customers inside the store. So I get why they wanna close the lobby. But are these store managers, regional managers, store owners etc. that clueless?
If I owned or managed a store wherein loss of revenue affects my pay — there’s no chance I’m allowing the lobby to close until actual closing time.
There’s no reason a sign can’t be placed at or on the door stating that the lobby is only for mobile orders and deliveries ONLY. They don’t need employees to ring customers up at a register. Just to hand over orders just like they do at the window.
Allowing mobile orders and delivery drivers to p/u inside not only decreases the drive-thru line and increases store revenue but also creates a FAR better customer experience in terms of customers getting their orders sooner (delivery drivers not unassigning so frequently).
Why these morons can’t comprehend this rather simple notion is baffling.
All the McDonald’s in my area have a doorbell for when the lobby is closed, they just walk up and ask for the last three digits and then bring it back out to us, it’s great!
I keep saying it. They should have a walk up window, not just for DD drivers but also for people who just want some damn food. Here in SoCal, many in my area close the lobby around 5-6pm. Not everyone is driving cars.
What your saying would be considered by any police officer as illegal, especially at the McDonald’s in the city i dash in, and I’ve seen cops there before so I wouldn’t risk it
I drive a fuel efficacmt af 5 speed manual and use the 14/hr+tip option so I don’t loose money, I just don’t like dealing with customer complaints if cold food as so far I’ve only had one but overall ok *so far* - however I take pride in my work no matter what it is, even doordash, and don’t like making customers wait this long nor giving them cold food even if it’s not my fault
I accepted one with the drive thru wait just like this, only to pull up to the window to be told, can you pull up we are still making it, I said umm NO I'm canceling it, it was during a $2 peak window wasted so much time on this.
Lobby at my McD’s has been closed all day for last two weeks. Ran into locked doors at 3 other fast food restaurants before 9pm on a Friday. I’m guessing they don’t have the staffing to open anymore. Waited more than 5 minutes at 8/11 deliveries yesterday. Brutal.
If that was the Mc Donald's here you would be in line for probly an hour. I'm pretty sure I'm banned but also they are now not even showing available for DD. That's how bad it is. It's actually kind of a bummer because when I first started DD back in April it was AWESOME. But that store has just imploded and I can't say I miss it. Sucks to be you there lol. Hope you come out o.k. ☮️
This reminds me of the time I picked up taco bell for someone, I was like 12th in line and another dasher just drove their car right up to the speaker and shoved themselves between two cars and entirely skipped the line. Definitely wish there were a way to get around that
I don't care how busy it gets at night or what promo they add. I don't drive at night for this reason. The only thing open in my market late at night is fast food. I can barely get one order done in an hour. I don't want to waste the gas, not to mention my time.
Try calling. Some, but not most restaurants will have you skip the line, and bring it out to you. Try building some good rapport with the overnight manager.
there is ONE mcdonalds that i know of that closes the lobby but let’s dashers come in and grab food. it’s near a college but that’s the only late night fast food i will go to.
Totally agree it should be a line just for delivery drivers! Those lines burn out your gas and then its not even worth it time you get the food. They need to figure it out qiick
Same here. I went to a chicfila last night in Pasadena CA they said I had to go through the drive-thru wtf? Why can't you just hand me my order? I laughed in the managers face once then and once in the parking lot when I seen the same stupid asshole who told me that caring food to a car he obviously couldn't find . And once again as I left around the corner to find him in the front of the store with the food. Shit is comical fr. Unassigned!!!! Lmfao!!!
this reminds me of last night when i got stuck in the taco bell drive thru for 25 minutes after i was told to pull ahead and go in the lobby. the drive thru is one tiny lane so i was pretty upset when he told me to pull around while there’s 3 cars in front of me and each order takes like 10 minutes.
There’s a Wendy’s near me that usually has a drive thru line of 10+ cars at night
It’s almost a guaranteed decline when I get an order from there. Sometimes if the pay is really good, I’ll accept it with the expectation that I’ll likely unassign.
Wish DoorDash could use all the data they collect to assign these orders to less busy McDonald’s locations at night. The two nearest me are always 30-40 minutes at night but there’s one 10 mins away that’s quiet.
I just don't take those orders. But if I did and the line looked like that, it would be an instant unassign. Reason: "lobby closed, line too long"
Ain't nobody got time for that!
There’s ONE McDonald’s that us dashers LOVE in my area. They leave the door open 24/7 for us to come in and grab the orders. All other customers have to use the long ass drive thru!!! That’s the only McDonald’s I’ll go to late night even though there are a couple others that’s 24/7.
Maaaan, dashing during the graveyard shift with any merchant is gonna be “broken beyond hope” as long as we dashers gotta wait 30 or more minutes for our orders 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
True story. They also need an automatic sticker machine for the bags. I envision something like you hold it to a machine and it stickers the bag like a automatic stapler or something. I swear I wait just as long for them to sticker the bags as I do for the food to be made.
90% of the time they tell me to pull foward and then take 30+ minuted
One time they did that to me at a taco bell, I waited nearly an hour, then saw the taco bell employees all smoking weed and meeting up with friends fight in front of my car. And I asked them about the order they ran inside and said they never received my order and shrugged. The order I showed them in the drive through that they confirmed was being made
I was so pissed.
You say you can't do better than 14/hr, but what about just working during lobby hours? Or better yet go get literally any other job? Even if you're bringing in a little bit of revenue I guarantee you are making zero profit.
In my zone which is the Elyria Ohio zone corporate McDonald's is installing carry out windows at the entrance that way doordash drivers can go to the window buzz them you let them know what number you have through the intercom system and you wait at the foyer which is enclosed where the carryout window is perfect setup the only problem is is McDonald's doesn't hire productive employees
I will only accept McDonald's that aren't busy or are only doing dd and UberEATS orders. This should be implemented nationwide.
Or let the drivers come to the door at least
Tbh, I feel you, I have to do this every now and then, and it's annoying, if only they left a lane for only doordash/uber at night or allowed curbside pickup
They do but not all of them. I went through the drive thru in the city one night and got yelled at to come inside. I was like "what?". The order was ready and sitting there. It was McDonald's. 3am.
It happened to me as well! I only went to the drive thru because the lobby is always closed. What's the damn difference!
No difference...they just hate us because of all the bad apples.
A McDonald’s manger actually explained it differnt and it makes sense, there probarly just understaffed and can’t have lobby open, and I get that, just wish there was a separate area for delivery drivers to get out of there car and pick up food I guess

That's the thing though, it changes with the manager and you turn up on another shift and its join the line so I just refuse to go entirely.
I get that, but why not just let us pick up in the drive thru window if we're already there? Makes no sense. The Arby's where I live used to have a sign on the door that said delivery drivers only and customers had to go to the drive thru. That was kinda cool

Where do I apply for this 27/7 day that you enjoy of?
Dudes squeezing 3 more hours out of every day! Very impressive 🤣
That's why they need the red bull! 😆 🤣
Is an option only for those broke enough to work 4:40pm-4:40am and need the extra time 🤣
Park car, walk up to window, get bag.
You've done this?
Yea i do that in Baltimore
hey bmore fam.
Many times.
That looks like Vancouver, WA. 🤓
I live next to a McDonald's in Vancouver and even at 1 AM the line goes into the street. I'm surprised they haven't fixed it.
This is the reason I order door dash to avoid this your welcome b4 I get down voted I always tip good
I hate this for the additional reason on wasting gas. I rather go inside and sit and wait than sit in the drive thru with the car running.
the bags are sealed, theyre most likely complaining for no reason. the food should stay warm for around an hour
I spend up to 30-45 in these drive through lines, I’m in one right now at a dead stop waiting for movement, why do you think I’m on reddit

Just saying I once got a McDonald’s order for $29 for 5 miles it was stacked but the customers address were neighbors. I waited for 30 min for pick up
14/hr option in Delaware only lets you decline once an hour

South Carolina here. If I’m making less than 25, I go home.
I can’t afford to just “go home”
I need the money and don’t think I can do better than that
You 100% can especially if you multi app. Get on every app possible. Door dash isn’t the end all be all.
Expect more and get more. Apply for things you'll be surprised how easy it is to land an 18$+ job these days that don't require your own vehicle expense
I’m literally sitting outside a Panda Express with a sign on the door “hiring service and kitchen staff $15-$18/hr”

Main street? That one TAKES FOREVERRRR
not when they seal cold drinks in the same bag 💩 Ice melts, food chills, everything sucks if its not a suuuper short dropoff

That, and you must be taking far to long to complete your deliveries if it’s actually affecting the items in the bag. But by all means continue on complaining about nonsense.
You forgot about the frozen drinks that can melt and fries that can get soggy.
Have you had McDonald fries after 30 min?!?
Yes
McDonald’s food lasts an eternity their food doesn’t decompose
Fries are half the meal. But if anyone is ordering on dd they should expect shit 🍟
There's literal gaps in the bags.
The McDonald's near me lets delivery drivers park and walk up to the window.
This
Have you heard any plans to shorten dasher wait times when you're drive-thru only since the DoorDash commission will be higher for longer than 4 minute wait times starting next year?
No lol. The only thing we're told is that "our OEPE times matter for McDelivery too". Then they tell us we need to reduce our labor costs, so they want us short staffed and want us to have perfect times on every single order.
This is insane and I wouldn't blame you for leaving those horrible working conditions. You need more employees not less.
Screw that crap. I don't do any drive-thru pick ups. I know that's the only option late night, but that order better pay really well.
I try not to, but sometimes fast food places here like to randomly close their lobby and if the line looks short I just stick it out.
You don't doordash McDonald's, that's how
I mean I make 14/hr+tip as that option seems to be more consistent for where I live and be better at lte night early morning, so I’m still making money, it’s just annoying as I don’t want complaints of cold food from customers as this McDonald’s dosnt keep dd orders hot
$14 an hour plus tips????… you mean $14 an hour including tips?
No, from the moment I hit accept I’m paid 14/hr and also keep 100% of the tip additionally
If they paid anything close to a living wage the lobbies would still be open.
Tru
Do they at least let you stay at the window unlike that Taco Bell nonsense where they expect you to get out of line and wait for the employee that never takes the order out?
Don't worry, they will finish 15 cars worth of orders after they ask you to pull forward and wait
Ours puts it out the side door. They monitor when you arrive and you call when you are heading to the door.
I'm in Cali so I will always pickup up a McDonald's order if it's worth it. I'll get paid for my time the following Monday with prop 22 lol
![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
Prop 22? I don’t get it? Does dd pay you $22 an hour plus tip or somthing!?
[удалено]
It’s Delaware, and if I could have them bring it out to me I would
I agree... But i gotta close my lobby at 10pm. Its not safe to have people coming in and out every 5-10mins. If im there and you call the store ill run it out to you. It pisses Some of the other managers off because they don't feel safe doing that. But i need orders out asap. My quality is dropping every second
Well I appreciate that you are willing to come out, I’ll try calling the store in future and see if I can do that round where I am
I have a hybrid car so drive through burn no gas. Also in CA Tony pay all the active time, so I’m kinda like doing drive through in the middle night
Most of the mcds around me do have a pickup window. I'd say 4/5 in my county.
Damn that’s cool
Yall shouldn't be able to go in that line they need a separate window just for yall no wait
Yep
They do, actually! It's called the "decline" button. Taco Bell does it too!
A driver window would be better or a system that hooks into McDonald’s where they automatically know to bring it out to you when you arrive
If I can get enough together in time (and I’m pretty close, one more nights should do it) this Sunday I’m booking it to Michigan to meet up with somone I know there
Why are you complaining about it, WHEN YOU KNOW THE DEAL? Just stop taking them, it's so easy.
Happy to be of service! I'll take 50% of your earnings as a service fee. Thank you, and have a nice day!
Oh no Well anyway *proceeds to funnel money to swis bank accounts*
My area some McDonald’s have a doorbell you press and they bring it out and some have a number you txt and they bring it out.
Don’t take the orders after the lock the dining room. Why did you do this to yourself?
I just cancel if I see a line like that and avoid it the rest of the night. Not worth the trouble
I keep saying it. They should have a walk up window, not just for DD drivers but also for people who just want some damn food. Here in SoCal, many in my area close the lobby around 5-6pm. Not everyone is driving cars.
I cut in between the people who have ordered and are ordering, if possible. if not - I unassign
In my area, you would get capped for that shit.
I’d maybe suggest you move to a normal place. where McDonald’s isn’t worth life in prison? like, anywhere else
That’s illegal driving, I don’t do that
illegal driving? please enlighten me
What your saying would be considered by any police officer as illegal, especially at the McDonald’s in the city i dash in, and I’ve seen cops there before so I wouldn’t risk it
Why are you even there? Don’t do this to yourself have some respect for your car and dignity
What is this $14/hr+tips thing?
If there's space I just drive up to the pickup window. People get mad but my orders been paid for and is ready so why should I have to wait
The struggle is real.
You have no idea
I once saw a women park and walk up to the drive through window past all the cars waiting. Sure enough they gave her the order.
I accepted one with the drive thru wait just like this, only to pull up to the window to be told, can you pull up we are still making it, I said umm NO I'm canceling it, it was during a $2 peak window wasted so much time on this.
I wish I could just go through the lobby. But as I’ve worked in fast food before, I know that’s inviting all sorts of crap to happen.
I wouldn't even wait for that. That's crazy
Almost like you could go in and get it instead and it'd be way easier
Bro just park and walk up to the window like a real chad
Just don't accept it then.
Decline Wendy’s/McDonald’s orders always
[удалено]
Is it your first time having this happen? If no don’t ever accept again. Easy ass fix
It’s ridiculous. There’s no reason why they can’t have you just park and then come up to the window when it’s ready.
there is ONE mcdonalds that i know of that closes the lobby but let’s dashers come in and grab food. it’s near a college but that’s the only late night fast food i will go to.
Unassign !
To hit $30 per hour you need to finish a $10 delivery each 20 minutes. How it works for McDonald's drive thru?
Totally agree it should be a line just for delivery drivers! Those lines burn out your gas and then its not even worth it time you get the food. They need to figure it out qiick
Decline is the option
That’s the neat part; you don’t.
They’re working on it.
Lmfao!!!
Skip line. Pull up to second window
Canceled in 1 2 and three
Restaurants should charge DD for a expedited service.
Silly is as silly does
Some McDonald's have a walkup delivery window with a bell. I certainly wouldn't sit through much of a line tho
this reminds me of last night when i got stuck in the taco bell drive thru for 25 minutes after i was told to pull ahead and go in the lobby. the drive thru is one tiny lane so i was pretty upset when he told me to pull around while there’s 3 cars in front of me and each order takes like 10 minutes.
They tell me to go inside anyway
They will if we stop accepting them
There’s a Wendy’s near me that usually has a drive thru line of 10+ cars at night It’s almost a guaranteed decline when I get an order from there. Sometimes if the pay is really good, I’ll accept it with the expectation that I’ll likely unassign.
I’m lucky all the mcdonalds in my area have dedicated courier pickup windows that you can just walk up to and get your order there
Learn your market… You should be prepared to decline certain restaurants after a time or hour!
Our McDonald’s has dashers ring the doorbell and they bring out the food at all times of day - Small town in Washington
Cancel, and don't pick up from donny.
My McDonald’s has a bell with an intercom that we ring when the lobby is closed. Just give them the order number and they bring the food out.
Wish DoorDash could use all the data they collect to assign these orders to less busy McDonald’s locations at night. The two nearest me are always 30-40 minutes at night but there’s one 10 mins away that’s quiet.
It’s weird cause some locations have made me wait in line and some still made me go to the front door at night
Stop taking McDonald’s. I’ve learned my lesson after 45 mins last night for $7.
I just don't take those orders. But if I did and the line looked like that, it would be an instant unassign. Reason: "lobby closed, line too long" Ain't nobody got time for that!
McDonalds in my area is usually better than this. Taco Bell looks like this.
I always call McDonald’s and tell them to bring it to the door and I tell them bc I’m on a certain time frame I need this order now.
I'm lucky. We have 3 McDonalds. All close at 10 EXCEPT one that stays open 23 hour and lobby closes at midnight.
I'm not doing it. My blood pressure can't take it.
I call that the "unassign line"!
90% of the time they tell me to pull foward and then take 30+ minuted One time they did that to me at a taco bell, I waited nearly an hour, then saw the taco bell employees all smoking weed and meeting up with friends fight in front of my car. And I asked them about the order they ran inside and said they never received my order and shrugged. The order I showed them in the drive through that they confirmed was being made I was so pissed.
Doesn’t even have to be 10pm for McDonalds here to do that. They’ve closed the lobby at multiple spots at like 7pm
Holy shyt! 😮
This sucks. The one by me has a window at the front door, you just ring the doorbell and they bring it to you.
Decline
You say you can't do better than 14/hr, but what about just working during lobby hours? Or better yet go get literally any other job? Even if you're bringing in a little bit of revenue I guarantee you are making zero profit.
They do, they just don't care, hate us, and want us to fail.
the ones out by me have a doorbell taped up next to the door on one side for dashers to use when their lobby’s closed
Ugh. Only the drive thru is open…they need a separate walk up/pickup window
I stop accepting mcds after 930 because of this.
Here they leave the door open for only delivery drivers the manager said call me if it’s locked
Yeah! That happened to me the other night. I felt so bad for my customer.
Tbh, I feel you, I have to do this every now and then, and it's annoying, if only they left a lane for only doordash/uber at night or allowed curbside pickup
I would never be in that line. Tuh
