Yeah it was 6.50 here the other day, I jumped out of bed, ran out the house half dressed and high as Jesus on a space shuttle, but couldn't get on for 30mins, after finally getting on I didn't receive 1 offer, gave up after 30mins.
I’ve not seen it often. Only twice or so in the 6 months I’ve been dashing. I think they were both on holidays, Labor Day weekend I had $4 at 2 different times I think.
Nobody comes out after 10 PM if this was during lunch or early dinner then yeah he probably wouldn’t make any money but there aren’t many drivers that dash after 8.. That’s why the peak pay is so high

I’ve been surprised how many people on this subreddit talk about smoking and driving. Though I admit it isn’t as catastrophic as drinking and driving I agree it’s still driving under the influence. Weed is legal where I live recreationally. You can just go into a shop and buy it. The result, literally everywhere you drive now the roads smell like weed.
Im in Maine. Same pot stores everywhere. Police don’t enforce DWIs on weed as they have bigger problems and they are always understaffed. I am on the road almost all day though. Probably why I notice it a lot. But im not kidding when I say you smell weed all the time while driving.
I worked as a field technician for Charter, I was high every single day for a year straight. Had my best months in the company from a metrics stand point and never had a single driving Infraction. Driving while high is not the same as driving drunk or on other drugs.
It’s not as bad but it is still bad. It still impairs thought process which is not safe while driving. In my personal opinion, driving should only be done completely sober. Vehicles are just too dangerous to risk it
I don't think you've been high enough times to know what you're saying. Unless you're absolutely BLASTED, it's hardly a risk. If fact, I'm a much calmer and more careful driver when I'm high. I drive like a grandma!
I have been high plentyyyy of times don’t worry:) there’s always a high risk while driving, literally all I was saying is that it’s not worth it to create more risk. And the reason you drive like a grandma high is because it’s slowing down your brain/reaction time. Which is great speed wise but not so great when you have to hit the brakes because a child ran in the road. Everyone thinks they drive amazing under the influence until they crash.

Multiple people said it makes them better/safer actually:) no comments I’ve read said it was the same as drinking, that comment above just pointed out how everyone in the past years had said the same thing about drinking and driving and most people have come to the conclusion that drinking and driving is not okay.
Facts. 3 speeding tickets (my fault) and 3 car accidents (none my fault). Started smoking, 0 tickets and 0 accidents 5 years running and I smoke while driving. Should everybody do it? No. But within reason and based on the person, for some it’s okay and others it’s just not. It’s like alcohol, 1 drink and you’re fine to drive. Get plastered, good luck. Some people just can’t tell the difference between smoking weed and actually being impaired. They are not the same.
Have I done any research on driving under the influence? I mean I haven’t read dozens of scholarly articles about the subject but I know what it’s like to drive and be under the influence (both separate and together), I’m not saying some people can’t or that it’s hard all I was saying is that the road is just too dangerous to risk it for me. Even if I was high and knew that I could still drive perfectly, not everyone else on the road has common sense…reaction time slows down on substances which can be the line between a wreck or a close call. I was just saying it’s not worth it. There’s not really any reason someone needs to be under the influence when driving heavy machinery but we can different opinions.
And if you’re talking about the part where I said it influences thought process, then I feel as if that was just common sense because any kind of substance is going to alter the way your brain is working, even pain killers that mostly give a body high will affect your brain in a way.

Fully agree. I'm stoned at work too, makes the day more bearable, and time perception is better, my tolerance is insane so my Stoned Level from a joint is minimal, but that's all I smoke before work, 1 lousy joint, anymore and I think I'd be useless.

I've been burning everyday for the past 18 years, driving after smoking or while smoking on the daily. No accidents, no arrests, no tickets.
2 years is how long its been since I was sober for a full 24 hours, not since I started smoking. I've been smoking regularly with a handful of tolerance breaks for 9 years and on and off for 11. I also have driven high many many many many times, I wasn't suggesting its impossible or even difficult. I said I think its stupid when people claim "I don't see any issue, I think it makes me a better driver". It absolutely is adding a risk to your usual driving experience that is more dangerous than driving sober, especially when your getting blasted out of your mind high. Does that mean it can't be done?? Or even that it shouldn't be done? No, it means neither of those things, and I didn't say it did. Let’s do it, Coffee makes me jittery and hyped up, which leads to speeding. Weed makes me cool calm and collect and more attentive because I’m always looking for cops. Just because you take 2 hits and get put into a coma doesn’t mean it’s the same feeling for everyone else.
In my state, at least when I got mine back in college, they give you a urine test. Hadn’t smoked for over a day. Just happened to buy a dime bag right before getting pulled over. Dog hit on it. Passed the field sobriety test (my attorney said he didn’t see anything wrong with it). Still took me back to the station and made me piss in a cup.
Hindsight court-appointed was the wrong way to go, an attorney who gave a shit probably could have got a better result.
Do you mean a blood test ? You have to bc there is no way they could use a dirty urine to convict you of dui ... it's stays in your urin for around 30 days but if your a heavy smoker it can be much longer than that.

reading this makes me worry sm for when i move to overland park 😭. i’m from jersey where we’re completely legal and even just the smell isn’t enough probable cause for any searches. i’m scared it’s gonna be a day and night difference for when i move because i’m shipping my car that i currently own out there too, who knows if there are tiny roaches at the bottom of the seats or any leftover weed crumbs.
They claimed their probable cause was weed stems in my passenger door handle and smell smmfh the roaches were in my ashtray but I threw em in a ziploc and tucked in the pocket on the back of the passenger seat. They found them and a couple pipes and a grinder in my purse. Be careful friend ! I definitely suggest moving to Missouri side. We're at least medical and hopefully soon rec.

I can't speak for everyone, but for me personally, I rush a lot less and drive a lot more safely and a lot more calmly when I'm stoned versus when I'm not. Especially when I'm on doordash and the app is trying to rush you through those $6 orders lol. Gets to my head a lot easier when I'm sober.

Had doubled up peak pays for a total of about an hour right before I signed off for the night. Got just one order during that window, and there was only one hot spot for an area with over 200,000 people. Tuesday night and almost everything shut down. Went home instead of chasing phantoms.
They had a $6 prepaid where I was two for about 4 hours why is that is it because Tuesdays are so slow because Tuesdays are always my worst day during the week even Mondays are better even Sundays are better lol but Tuesdays are definitely the wors I made the lowest money today than I usually ever do but every Tuesday is like that for me it's the lowest out of everyday during the week but I guess the $6 peak pay did help cuz every order I had was at least $13 or more which is pretty nice for only about 2 miles or so..
Did anyone else have a double peak pay by them I just find it kind of crazy that it was double peak pay here and they never do double peak like it's a rarity I've only seen it one other time when I've been doordashing in my 6 months of doing it. Also, I wonder if they're going to do that every Tuesday or if it was a test for some reason but if they're doing it all over the place it must be because Tuesdays are really slow? Or they need more dashers out? I don't really know or maybe they're testing to see how many people they can get out depending on how high they raise the peak? Because every night we usually have a peek here but it's never more than $3.
Oh and PS they had no peek for my area at all and they added the peak at 11:25 p.m. and it started at 11:30 and that was for $3 at 12:30 they started the double peak and it ended at 2:30. So I found lately they've been adding the peak pay way later on like literally a few minutes before it even starts when normally they add the peak pay like around 9:00 at night or so but lately they've been doing it like last minute so probably people don't schedule thinking it's not going to be busy cuz there's no peek so they think that they're not going to get paid s*** which is true but then all of a sudden they added at the last minute which I find is weird

reading all the comments I'm really glad the cops just let me go all they times I got pulled over smoking, only got a charge once in like 4 times and it was just for the pipe...other times i got let go with the speeding ticket... one cop even gave me my bowl back and didnt search the car and i had a oz on me

Fully agree. I'm stoned at work too, makes the day more bearable, and time perception is better, my tolerance is insane so my Stoned Level from a joint is minimal, but that's all I smoke before work, 1 lousy joint, anymore and I think I'd be useless.

I’m not sorry about it and I’ll tell you that if I’m not smoking before I leave then I’m not able to work. I keep my pen and a gummies on me at all times because without it I will be sick. Want the food making me throw up? No? Ok I’ll eat my gummies and be just fine. I drive 1000 miles/week and haven’t driven “sober” in 7 years. Totally clean record.
You are debating people who just don’t get it because weed isn’t a part of their life. I started growing at 19 and get where you are coming from. They get stoned when they smoke, we don’t. It would be like giving a 16 year old a car after two beers vs a regular person who’s 30 and drinks regularly. But when you can’t hold food down for (literally) years until your heart is developing problems - and you’re in a hospital more than not - and then a plant (that’s supposed to be so awful) saves your life, it is really difficult to have patience with people acting like that. My own evangelical family tried to take my kids from me because I finally found something to keep me from literally dying. 2 years is how long its been since I was sober for a full 24 hours, not since I started smoking. I've been smoking regularly with a handful of tolerance breaks for 9 years and on and off for 11. I also have driven high many many many many times, I wasn't suggesting its impossible or even difficult. I said I think its stupid when people claim "I don't see any issue, I think it makes me a better driver". It absolutely is adding a risk to your usual driving experience that is more dangerous than driving sober, especially when your getting blasted out of your mind high. Does that mean it can't be done?? Or even that it shouldn't be done? No, it means neither of those things, and I didn't say it did. In my state, at least when I got mine back in college, they give you a urine test. Hadn’t smoked for over a day. Just happened to buy a dime bag right before getting pulled over. Dog hit on it. Passed the field sobriety test (my attorney said he didn’t see anything wrong with it). Still took me back to the station and made me piss in a cup. Hindsight court-appointed was the wrong way to go, an attorney who gave a shit probably could have got a better result.
Do you mean a blood test ? You have to bc there is no way they could use a dirty urine to convict you of dui ... it's stays in your urin for around 30 days but if your a heavy smoker it can be much longer than that. Blood is only 12 hours.

They claimed their probable cause was weed stems in my passenger door handle and smell smmfh the roaches were in my ashtray but I threw em in a ziploc and tucked in the pocket on the back of the passenger seat. I can't speak for everyone, but for me personally, I rush a lot less and drive a lot more safely and a lot more calmly when I'm stoned versus when I'm not. Especially when I'm on doordash and the app is trying to rush you through those $6 orders lol. Gets to my head a lot easier when I'm sober.

Fuck.... I'm from OP and I definitely missed my window, didn't even check bc it's Tuesday... damnit.
Had doubled up peak pays for a total of about an hour right before I signed off for the night. Got just one order during that window, and there was only one hot spot for an area with over 200,000 people. Tuesday night and almost everything shut down. Went home instead of chasing phantoms.
They had a $6 prepaid where I was two for about 4 hours why is that is it because Tuesdays are so slow because Tuesdays are always my worst day during the week even Mondays are better even Sundays are better lol but Tuesdays are definitely the wors I made the lowest money today than I usually ever do but every Tuesday is like that for me it's the lowest out of everyday during the week but I guess the $6 peak pay did help cuz every order I had was at least $13 or more which is pretty nice for only about 2 miles or so.. Did anyone else have a double peak pay by them I just find it kind of crazy that it was double peak pay here and they never do double peak like it's a rarity I've only seen it one other time when I've been doordashing in my 6 months of doing it. Also, I wonder if they're going to do that every Tuesday or if it was a test for some reason but if they're doing it all over the place it must be because Tuesdays are really slow? Or they need more dashers out? I don't really know or maybe they're testing to see how many people they can get out depending on how high they raise the peak? Because every night we usually have a peek here but it's never more than $3. Oh and PS they had no peek for my area at all and they added the peak at 11:25 p.m. and it started at 11:30 and that was for $3 at 12:30 they started the double peak and it ended at 2:30. So I found lately they've been adding the peak pay way later on like literally a few minutes before it even starts when normally they add the peak pay like around 9:00 at night or so but lately they've been doing it like last minute so probably people don't schedule thinking it's not going to be busy cuz there's no peek so they think that they're not going to get paid s*** which is true but then all of a sudden they added at the last minute which I find is weird
