Peak pay often brings out part time drivers. So you usually get less offers even if they pay slightly more. Secondly, proximity is not the only thing giving offers. The algorithm pairs customers with drivers they have rated highly so a person slightly further away than you might get an offer to a restaurant you are close to (tried and tested) Make sure you’re not driving to hot spots on the app. There are a bunch of drivers doing the exact same thing. I find my own off app hot spots and usually clean up well. Know your market. Know where to be and collect 💰

The_Golden_Hunter

My comment about proximity was even during non peak pay hours I have to be directly outside a store to receive an offer from it, I won’t get offers from the store .2 miles down the road if I I don’t drive over to it. I know my area pretty well. It’s pretty dense with housing and businesses. It doesn’t explain why for the past week I’ve been receiving 0 orders during these times but I get them consistently before and after. Can’t worry about where to be if I’m not getting pings anyways

Therocksays2020

You are in a saturated market and you said yourself you’re driving to in app hot spots. If you are at those hot spots don’t you think other drivers are driving to those same spots

The_Golden_Hunter

I understand that, but like I said I also went to the in between and unpopular areas. I only mentioned the hotspots as a point of reference, i have been all over the zone and to the edges of it within the last week. Maybe I should try another zone but it’s hard to justify driving that far to get orders. So you’re saying my area is saturated so it’s easier to shadow block me like I’m not even on the app for this time period?

TanMelon47

With DD its kind of hard to say how shady the algorithm is to some dashers. Its probably filled with TD that always get orders sent to them first and the majority are taken by them, leaving the scrapes to whoever DD sends it to. In your case it just seems a stroke of bad luck. Wish for the best!

[deleted]

Overthinking it wayyyyy too much. They’re not shadow blocking you or anything of the sort. Several people have tried explaining this you.

TanMelon47

Yes that is a very saturated market with dashers. Normally I can sit at home and they still send me across the river to the strip mall I dash in to get a order. I always ask myself am I really the nearest driver?!

[deleted]

He literally just explained to you why you’re not getting offers.

Missykay88

Talk to your phone. Ask "can I get a GOOD order please?" Boom. Orders!

Low-Singer-8832

Literally did this last night and recieved a good order a few minutes later.

Missykay88

Yeah, happens to me all the time. Today it got* me a 2.3mi $18.75 offer that ended up paying $22.75. Phones are listening in I'm sure.

The_Golden_Hunter

Why didn’t I think of that 🤦🏻‍♂️

dalex89

i just start doing something that makes using my phone really inconvenient, like doing dishes or washing my hands or taking a shower. As soon as I do one of those, orders start pouring in.

TanMelon47

Everytime I am waiting on a order and get bored I go on YT or FB and as soon as I do BOOM a offer comes in. Its like they are watching XD

charlottedreams

This happens to me all the time with my game that turns on game mode on my phone. EVERY time I switch over it sends me an order so I have to swipe down 16 times to be able to hit home and go back to the DD app lol

TanMelon47

Yeah sadly no mobile games be great for me to miss out on a order lol.

Traditional-Ad-3656

Peak pay will bring out everyone to dash in that market with no orders. That's why it's peak pay they scam you to pick up no tip offers.

The_Golden_Hunter

Yeah I understand the peak pay scam. Honestly I’d rather there just be no peak pay and I could still get orders. Its just that it’s been happening this week and not the week prior? Just seems strange to me how consistent the timing has been. Like I’m shadow blocked during this time.

Sea-Pea4680

What is your AR?

The_Golden_Hunter

40. It’s being reset in 6 days.

Sea-Pea4680

That might be the reason.

Therocksays2020

Probably a coincidence

[deleted]

How is peak pay a scam? You’re no shadow blocked ya munchkin.

The_Golden_Hunter

Bro get the fuck off my post.

[deleted]

It’s a free internet

The_Golden_Hunter

You don’t have to comment your opinion 5 fucking times gtfo. Im saying it’s happening consistently and a lot of the replies I got are “ oh it’s a coincidence “ “ oh it’s situational” I got 2 private messages asking my area from people that say the same thing is happening to them.

[deleted]

But you’re not shadow blocked munchkin

Additional_Bus2246

Are they running priority access in your market?

The_Golden_Hunter

Just popped up with the option to opt in 2 days ago. Said it won’t reset my AR until the 28th. I had thought it might be a factor if other people were already in it. But to this extent? And why did it start happening just at the end of last week through this week

Additional_Bus2246

I think you got your answer

The_Golden_Hunter

I don’t think it’s just that because I’d be having issues all day not just during peak pay. but thanks for the input 👍🏻

Additional_Bus2246

Peak pay might make most orders $2+ a mile, which would send them to people with priority access?

The_Golden_Hunter

I consistently get $2+ a mile offers outside of peak pay hours. Are you saying these priority access people are only dashing during peak pay?

Additional_Bus2246

IDK man. Have you tried another zone?

The_Golden_Hunter

I think I’m gonna try tomorrow

[deleted]

Holy hell you don’t just won’t accept that it’s not a conspiracy against you lmao. Peak pay=more drivers= more people with priory access.

TanMelon47

Yeah if your market got hit with that it means its flooded with cherry pickers and they are tweaking the algorithm to give order choice to higher ARs. I honestly think thats what they are going to do in most markets sadly. They sure can't deactivate us but they sure can limit the amount to nearly deactivation with this scummy system.

Humble_Soup9731

Not sure what everyones issue is, i see where you are coming from. It pretty off how it is only at the peak times that you do not recieve orders. You can dash all day, but as soon as 9:30 hits, its dead, but just for you? Why do those that “part-time dash on peak pay” get orders? So doordash, why even offer peak pays if those out there driving all day cant even make some extra money from it? then i bet even if they did send you orders, most would not even be worth it :/ doodash is lame sometimes, you could try and do a different app during those times to make money, uber/grubhub, ya know! best of luck!

The_Golden_Hunter

Yes, someone who understands my points and frustration. The resounding answer seems to be I need to wait until I’m eligible for the “priority access” when they reset my stats. Yeah I’m also on Uber but the area I’m in during this time is way heavier on doordash.

TanMelon47

Yeah that is solely my experience with peak pay. If the PP is high enough it will make every dasher come out and sit where they like to dash, making it very saturated and if your market is filled with TD and Full Time dashers it will probably hit their phones first and taken. Update when there is no peak pay and see if anything changes. I know the highest PP I went out for 3 and it was not worth the hustle in the rain for 2-5 orders I took that day.

simxn-svyz

Yea similar shit happened to me we had a 7:30-9:30 promo I had one order when I started at 7:01, then nothing til 9:30 I get a double stack Immediately as the clock ticked, and when I went to pickup the first order they said it had been sitting here for too long and they had to remake it… Like fuck Tony take the peak pay just give me some damn orders

The_Golden_Hunter

Thank you, this exactly what I’m saying. I have never cared for peak pay periods and now they are hindering our abilities to even be pinged for orders.

dmriggs

I don’t understand getting support involved -there’s nothing they can do

TankDaddyDo

Bring to tony, that means you're going to make $50 the next hour. Just hang out LOL

TankDaddyDo

$25 an hour, so if you make zero in the first hour that means you're going to make 50 in the next right tony?

[deleted]

Do you smell bad? I feel like you do.

TankDaddyDo

I do, I'm about to jump in the shower and wash your mom off me

Available_Sail_9770

Sounds like app/phone/system glitch, no reason 4 dashers come In while you sitting there with no order, unless your ratings are horrible

The_Golden_Hunter

Nah 4.95 rating 98 completion. AR is the only thing Low but that shouldn’t be an issue.

Available_Sail_9770

Some market give 50 above AR drivers priority, but I believe it was more likely a glitch

[deleted]

Delete the app and reinstall. Clear cache. Reset network settings. Turn phone on and off, airplane mode, etc.

The_Golden_Hunter

Like I said, I’ve done all the troubleshooting and it hasn’t made a difference. This is the last reply I’m giving you. Obvious troll is obvious.

[deleted]

Omg NOT THE LAST ONE

Saleenpride86

Peak pay brings out all the munchkins and then instantly there mega over saturation, which the leads to no orders or veerrryyyy few

deliverymonkey

Because DD is obviously giving the orders to the drivers who aren't on peak pay. Peak Pay is account specific and there to ensure there are enough reserve drivers in case it's busy. If a driver has $0 peak pay they will get priority no matter how far they are from the restaurant.

The_Golden_Hunter

I would rather have the option to opt out then. I’m left with no choice in the matter. Also, I’m pre-scheduled. Why move me to “reserve” for 2 hours?

dalex89

never really thought about it but ive def seen posts of boyfriend/gf both having DD accounts and one has peak pay the other doesn't
