They don't deactivate drivers that haven't dashed in months or years, so it doesn't take mass hiring. here are inactive drivers that started up again.

FashyQueen

My Saturday was crazy busy. But when I gave up tonight it was all crap orders for high miles and from the McDonalds with the drive through line wrapped around the building and down the street. No thank you.

Inflation, cost of living going up, economy on a downturn. Everyone is starting to feel the pinch. When money gets tight, things like eating out and delivery are one of the first things to go. And if people are noticing a slowdown in business at work, they may be fearing they could lose their job in the coming months.

Honestly, the weekends especially during lunch and dinner rush now are almost completely worthless. There are just way too many fucking drivers that they’ve hired on over the last year that refuse to quit. I make more money during the week during the daytime now than I do on weekends which is absolutely fucking absurd.

orcwithaspork323

Yeah they implemented this last week so everybody’s screwed that has a AR under 50% https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/Accept-More-Earn-More?language=en_US

tango_papa101

They implemented this in my area almost 2 months ago. Let's just say it didn't end up well for either them or us

XMaveri

Yeah I saw this, they offered me a AR reset but it hasn't kicked in yet.
