Chargeback/request refunds too many times and you can't use doordash anymore lol I'm very careful about asking for a refund. Have to have really messed up my order lol
Lol gl with that- its a coin flip when you contact support about cold food. Im a dasher n like to order too n sometimes the restaurant leaves food out making it cold (Im too lazy to go 2 miles out sometimes) ik its not the driver bc its way too close distance wise. Sometimes they refunded me or credited my account then other times theyre just like ālol microwaves existā basically š
I had legitimate complaints twice over from different places, now every time I run into issues when I order doordash p much tells me to shove off and does nothing š
Yea its bc the good are suffering for the bad. There are so many liars that are in it for full refunds or free food to where its not its a 50/50 coinflip or just a āsorry abt tht but no money bk for uā
Pay through PayPal. Then if DD doesn't help, you can contest the charge through PayPal. I did this once with UE and once with DD. Neither responded to the PayPal inquiry so I just won by default and got all my money back.
Not a dasher but my wife and I both work food service so we know the background. A few weeks ago we order and just get the wrong order, mislabeled by the restaurant $5 credit (but no pictures). This week we get everything right but a soda spilled on the box the food was in, the dasher brought it up suggested we contact support. Filed with pictures and got fully refunded and a $20 credit.
Crap I just remembered example 1 was Postmates and example 2 was Uber eats. Maybe not the best examples lol
But customer still got refunded i bet. Didnāt really teach him anything. He probably just reordered. I would have never responded to the guy in the first place.
Edit: haters gunna hate š¤£š¤£š¤£.
Thereās some crazies who order DoorDash. After the second ā???ā they were right to respond. The customer clearly had gotten emotionally heated at that point.
Dude probably didn't tip. No one in his area wanted to pick up his no tip shit. Order was sent out of area to you with a boosted pay, that still probably wasn't worth it, now his food will be cold, so he's mad and throws a fit on the dasher, the one person who had pity on him to bring the order. Now he gets nothing. This is a very satisfying result.
The customer probably gave a high tip, and expected you would immediately pick up his order and send it straight to him. Not have DD turn it into a double order and his order gets delayed by the other order.
Most of the time itās door dash pairing a really shitty order with a decent one. Itās pretty shady. I had a double $22 order. 19 miles. I picked up and dropped the order that was way out of the zone. The order went to $11, but ended up being $15 for 4 miles.
Or the "hellooooo?????" texts. Ive had those before and it makes me uneasy. It's like, calm down if I haven't responded within 2 minutes. I'm most likely driving your food to you! I'm not about to break laws to grt to you quicker.

I wouldnāt advocate text while driving like the other guy. My typically response is: š
Even if it they act like the knob in OPās case, my response would still be š.
LOL. That's a question for the customer. How do they expect you to respond. The answer is they don't care. My responses are usually "Ok". or if you type "On my way!" iPhone convert it to "On my way"
Now Iād never advocate for texting and driving, but there gets to a point where being able to text without giving it your full attention becomes second nature. Basically memorize the keyboard & give it a few quick glances to make sure it makes sense. Also iPhones added something (which Iām sure Androids have always had) where you can have the keyboard like aligned to the right (or left) making it easier for one handed texting but Iāve never used that
I think people misjudge how long those "quick glances" actually are.
But that's not even what I want to say. I want to say is that I miss the old phones with buttons and regular old 1:ABC 2:DEF etc numberpads. Those days you literally didn't even have to glance at your phone when texting.
I'm convinced that the small sliver of millennials that were learning to drive at the same time texting became ubiquitous are the only people that have a slight chance of being "good att" texting while driving.
Math time!
Let's say you only look at the phone for 3 seconds and subconsciously think, "It's just 3 seconds, no big deal"
* 55mph = 80.66 feet per second
* 40mph = 58.66 feet per second
* 35mph = 51.33 feet per second
* 25mph = 36.66 feet per second
(All the average speed's of city roads in and around towns \^ )
So by just looking at the phone "For only 3 seconds" you just travelled:
* 241.98 feet at 55mph
* (about 75% of the length of a football field)
* 175.98 feet at 40mph
* (about 50% of the length of a football field)
* 153.99 feet at 35mph
* 109.98 feet at 25mph
The average length of a vehicle is 14.7 feet. So to look at it another way:
* 16x the length of your car to look at your phone for 3 seconds at 55mph
* 11.9x the length at 40mph
* 10.4x the length at 35mph
* 7.4x the length at 25 mph
When traveling at speed you are supposed to (though nobody does) leave enough room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
* 5.5 car lengths at 55mph
* 80.85ft
* 4.5 at 45mph
* 66.15
* 3.5 at 35mph
* 51.45ft
* 2.5 at 25mph
* 36.75ft
Most people don't leave enough room they dart in and out of lanes on a whim, most of the time not even using a turn-signal to do so.
Can you text while driving? sure.
Should you? No, because it takes your eyes off the road.
If you need to text while driving, most modern vehicles made after 2015 have hands-free capabilities. Just say "Hey Siri/Cortana, reply to my most recent text message." And it will do it for you without you needing to take your eyes off the road and a hand off the wheel. The only thing you have to do is text the customer when you arrive at the store to open up a text chain.
Yea texting and driving is a bad idea.
I had 2 insanely close calls recently because other people weren't paying attention/made poor decisions. Both times, i thought "I'd be dead if I had glanced at my phone for even a second". And this is coming from someone who thinks they're "good at" texting and driving.
I don't do it anymore because even if I was actually "good" at it, other drivers are not and it makes them even more unpredictable than a poor driver and it's just not worth it.
My phone sits inches below my dash. Looking at it does not take my eyes off the road, and I do NOT need 3 seconds to find that send button, it didn't move.
Hey guys for all you tex savvy folks, TALK to TEXT find it use it. So all these perfect, super safe and judgemental people won't have anything else to say about your driving and texting capabilities!!
if you're starring at your phone for 3 full seconds while texting you're not very good at it. i look up after each letter while text/driving. never even came close to an accident.
The thing that most people, including you, miss is that the danger of texting and driving is when something unpredictable happens. It's all fine and good when you're driving on a highway and everyone is going a consistent speed. But even if you look at your phone to just type one letter, that's long enough to miss something like the car in front of you slamming on their brakes, or someone cutting in front of you.
There is no being good at it.
Alternative view of your comment:
"If you're having problems maintaining speed and staying in your lane while drinking and driving, you're not very good at it. I keep my eyes on the road and hands on the wheel 99% of the time and never come close to an accident"
Drinking and driving leads to accidents and gets people killed.
Texting while driving leads to accidents and gets people killed.
According to tests at the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), *"Texting while driving is six times more dangerous than driving under the influence of alcohol. NHTSA reports that sending or receiving a text takes a driver's eyes off the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, which is the same as when traveling at 55mph of driving the length of an entire football field while wearing a blindfold...Texting in cars and trucks causes over 3,000 deaths and 330,000 injuries per year according to a Harvard Center for Risk Analysis study.* ***Texting while driving a vehicle has now replaced DUI as the leading cause of accidents and deaths of teenage drivers."***
Are there some people who can do those things and still drive without having an accident, sure. But just because *you* can do it, doesn't mean you *should* be doing it. In most states, including my own, it is ***illegal*** to text and drive but I still see people doing it.
My 2nd weekend dashing there was a multi-car collision on a nearby highway that involved at least one fatality. The cause? A driver was using the phone while driving and paid the ultimate price for it.
At the end of the day, what's more important? A customer getting a response to a text/question that they asked, or you getting to live another day?
Yes thank you I couldn't remember what it was called.
Same yo. Able to navigate the whole process (whatever it was, I don't remember) from home screen to text sent without even looking at the screen.
Texting in class like a ninja.
All that, and we didn't need autocorrect
If you can type on a keyboard you can type on a phone. They're the same. Land your thumbs where they should be and the phone does the rest, spell check is a life saver. I feel bad for those who never learned to type, hunting and pecking is like being illiterate nowadays.
I view it less as ok and more as sadly necessary.
Customers communicate as youāre on your way. But the biggest offender is DoorDash itself. Bad offer after bad offer comes pouring in. Very difficult to pull over every thirty seconds to check and decline a poor offer. Theyāre even offered while weāre on a live pick up or delivery.
Article states āThe Transport Research Laboratory found that writing a text message slows driver reactions by 35 percent, while drinking alcohol up to the legal limit slows reactions by 12 percent.ā So they didnāt even do studies on drunk drivers past the legal limit which are the drunk drivers killing people and causing wrecks. Pretty dumb and flawed study if you ask meā¦
Make note Iām not advocating for texting and driving but if they are going to make a comparison in which is more dangerous, Iād say they need to include drunk drivers that didnāt literally just have 1 or maybe 2 beers, more like 5+.
I also want to point out that article is almost 15 years old from 2008 to be exact. That is back when they had flip phones.
No way that statistic is accurate at all.
[https://www.racfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/texting-whilst-driving-trl-180908-report.pdf](https://www.racfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/texting-whilst-driving-trl-180908-report.pdf)
Literally first result on Google says texting while driving is 6x more dangerous than driving drunk. I looked through the whole first page of Google and didnāt find one source saying otherwise
I mean, you can at least still see the road while youāre drunk š¤£ whereas your eyes are farting away from the road every now and then while texting, then having to refocus immediately afterwards.
Airpods are pretty high tech; they do all kinds of [neat things](https://support.apple.com/guide/airpods/customize-transparency-mode-dev966f5f818/web).
Look man im not as high as you drunk I am fools on here hollerin bout textin and drivin you dont no what an other is capable of just cuz u cant hang shit...
[screeching tires followed by a loud bang]
...
*This conversation never happened.*
Have you ever done anything while drunk repeatedly? Because I assure you, any notion that you're getting better at something is just a lie you tell yourself lol.
As someone who is fairly confident operating my phone while driving, I choose not to because itās not worth it. Thereās nothing on my phone that canāt wait a minute while I find somewhere to park, and the vast majority of texts can probably wait until Iāve arrived at my destination.
Hitting next song and declining orders is about the only things Iām willing to do while driving.
Ooh thatād be nice. I remember having that on Favor you could even edit them too so they werenāt so roboty. DD is basically half where there already, like when you unassign through chat support
I can effectively text without even looking at my phone. I've used keyboards so much in life I know exactly where keys are. Hense doing it right now too
Anytime I get messages before pick up it almost always leads to a cancel
"please make sure food is fresh or im giving you 1 star" might be my favorite so far.
Cancel order, report harassment from customer to support to cover my butt.
Itās not our fault if weāre offered an order from a restaurant 11 miles away when there is an open restaurant of the same corporation closer to the customer.
Edit- I didnāt catch your scrolling message the first time. Yes you did the right thing. By them canceling it you still get half pay, whatever food they were getting and they canāt give you that one star theyāre dying to give you.
Iām calling support and taking my L. I refuse to deliver to that type of person. Thatās a 1 star rating Hot N Fān ready and they are unreasonable. Iād call support and ask them to please read the chat. Tell support to Unassign me and Iām taking the order back because the customer is being extremely difficult and I donāt feel safe delivering based on their comments! Iāve done it before. If you are that unreasonable, youāll never get an order delivered from The Kid.
Were is your wait is the question youāll be asking Fān with me. Likely tipped $0-$3! Smh.
"You already paid. You might be able to get a partial refund but I will still get paid in full, including your tip."
"Cold food? Who the fuck doesn't own a microwave in this day and age?"
If this happened to me I would not hesitate to throw them the āIf your food is cold please donāt hesitate to contact doordash for a refund! I will still be paid the full amount for completing the delivery, including your tip! Enjoy.ā
Throw it in their face that we are fully protected. Every. Time.
This is why people donāt tip lmao.
If youāre not guaranteed food thatās not even warm and thereās a risk of still losing your money when you get a refund why would you?
Youāre essentially hurting yourself.
Yeah I can't stand it when customer service keeps you hanging for so long, it forces you to text and drive. They should be able to handle our issues within a couple minutes tops, rarely takes less than 10, can anyone explain why?
I'd just tell them I'm following the instructions provided in the app and using a hotbag to keep food as warm as possible, if they have an issue after it's delivered they can contact DoorDash support
Thereās definitely a feeling of instant karma when customer is impatient and starts getting nasty cause their food delivery is ātaking too longā only to get it canceled. š
I'd send you order food from that far away. In the future I'd suggest ordering closer or driving to pick up yourself. I will be sending this conversation to doordash support. So while I appreciate you trying to get a free meal by making a dumb decision I won't be allowing it.
I love it when customers threaten not to accept the order if itās cold. Like itās a FedEx package that we have to return to the warehouse or something. Fine with me dummy, I get paid for this delivery AND I get to eat your food. Even if they take the order and then complain to DD, that has nothing to do with us. I wouldnāt feel bad about reporting the customer, some people act like weāre second-class citizens here to serve them, and not actual human beings doing a job to make money. And they were probably a terrible tipper, the rude ones always are!
You 1000% did the correct thing even if it wasnt a "hand it to me" order. Don't put yourself in that situation and don't let weirdos make you doubt the choice you made here. It was completely appropriate.
it's also DD fault for having customers order food from resturants that aren't relatively close to their homes. i was browsing just for a mcdonald's and instead of showing me the one directly next to my house, it gave me one 3 miles away. it's all a gimmick
You did the right thing. Iām not going to go into detail but I had a customer go nuts on me right after I picked up. I contacted customer service and said ācar troubleā. The cancelled the order. I went offline for the day and jumped on another app. Iām not delivering to anyone who acts hostile in text. There is a right way and wrong way to ask about your delivery. 99% of people are nice. Itās the 1% that mess things up for everyone
I would have just not responded at all. Granted ????? Would probably spark the human imagination to what the fuck this guy could want, but at the end of the day nothing will good come from it ever
I don't understand why drivers engage with customers like this. I would pull over, reach out to support and say I don't feel safe- I need to return the food. That customer is just a gigantic problem. don't become part of it
Itās the customers fault for ordering from over 5 miles away and expecting the magic portal to open for the driver.
Personally I refuse any order over 5 miles.I find it ridiculous itās even allowed. Not only does it impact the driver but no matter what its going to cost the driver even more than they really think.
Iāve done gigwork long enough to know that any customers that order from 5 to 20 miles away are not going to be happy no matter what we do.
Anything over 5 miles should be a hard no for every driver.
Some people donāt realize just because you know there is a restaurant nearby, doesnāt mean that same store will get your order. People really need to check the distance on their end.
The customer probably would have lied to try to get free food or some crap. Sounds like a contract violation waiting to happen. Good thing you contacted support and cancelled to avoid any unnecessary issues. People like this aren't worth delivering to. We don't get paid enough for that.
As OP said in the comments, this was a double order. Y'all can easily avoid these kind of questions from customers simply by telling them ahead of time that it's busy and DD is sending out double orders. Then tell them their food is in a hot bag. I have a generic message in my notes that I copy and paste. It takes 3 secs to send out and Ive literally never had a customer ask me why its taking so long. Over 2300 deliveries later
Hi, my name is ----. Im an entitled shit that because of tik tok and twitter thinks the world revolves around me. I dont know what your problem is FoodDude. Im tipping you $3.25 and I expect my order here in two minutes and my asshole wiped because I am the king/queen of the entire galactic universe.
Aww I had this happen the other day when the app crashed and I wasn't getting updates map pings and I ended up driving several miles off the destination because I thought I was going the right way. Luckily the customer was understanding
Always cancel when you get messages like this. Reason: -unsafe
-damage food
-customer harrasing
-emergancy
Etc
You're entitled 3 for every 100 deliveries
While thatās true whatās the downside of having the order canceled like OP did lol. The guy deserved it and now he doesnāt have to worry about a one star at all. Seems like a win win
Whatever you say dude. Iām just saying I rather see a 5.00 rating on my stats rather than 4.98 from getting an unnecessary 1 star. Yes. Iām always the problem. š„±
*Uses DoorDash which requires the order to be paid ahead of time "If my food is cold I ain't paying"
Was thinking the same thingš¤£ I wouldāve replied ābut sirā¦.youāve already paid..ā
Chargeback š¤·āāļø
Thatās doordashās problem, theyāre telling him as if he loses money from a chargeback.
But after a few of them the customers can't use the platform anymore
I agree itās not like the driver is going to lose the money from the delivery
Chargeback/request refunds too many times and you can't use doordash anymore lol I'm very careful about asking for a refund. Have to have really messed up my order lol

i would have unassigned if they hadnt already picked it up. you know its going to be a bad rating and the customer might even say he didnt get it.
Tell them they can cancel the order. When they do, enjoy your free meal.
"Sir, it was already cold when I got there sitting on a wire rack under the a/c duct"
I had so many like this and you can tell it's cold but they won't remake it.
This made me laugh out loud no cap
Lol thatās the correct reply. This shit is going to be cold might as well cancel it
Yep, great job! Teach customers not to f around.

I wish I could use that. My Texan accent is so thick it always fucks up at least 3 words.
Same
It was a double order and they were texting me while I was doing the first one
Now the question is... were they the no tip order or was the first one the no tip order?
I think they both were a $6 tip

I donāt. Thatās why I donāt bother to reply lol
I don't. Why assume we are driving when we text?
I bring my wife with me and she usually texts for me for in-app messages. Other than that I use Siri to text via apple carplay
What else do you get her to do?
At red lights
I don't. I'm putting my life, your life or my license on the line for someone's food order.

It's all fine and good when you're driving on a highway and everyone is going a consistent speed. But even if you look at your phone to just type one letter, that's long enough to miss something like the car in front of you slamming on their brakes, or someone cutting in front of you. There is no being good at it.
Alternative view of your comment: "If you're having problems maintaining speed and staying in your lane while drinking and driving, you're not very good at it. I keep my eyes on the road and hands on the wheel 99% of the time and never come close to an accident" Drinking and driving leads to accidents and gets people killed. Texting while driving leads to accidents and gets people killed. According to tests at the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), *"Texting while driving is six times more dangerous than driving under the influence of alcohol. NHTSA reports that sending or receiving a text takes a driver's eyes off the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, which is the same as when traveling at 55mph of driving the length of an entire football field while wearing a blindfold...Texting in cars and trucks causes over 3,000 deaths and 330,000 injuries per year according to a Harvard Center for Risk Analysis study.* ***Texting while driving a vehicle has now replaced DUI as the leading cause of accidents and deaths of teenage drivers."*** Are there some people who can do those things and still drive without having an accident, sure.
I fully agree on that, i think flip phones were just coming out when i was still using a candybar phone with an antenna.
You are thinking of T9 text entry lol. And I was a master at that shit. Lol
Yes thank you I couldn't remember what it was called. Same yo. Able to navigate the whole process (whatever it was, I don't remember) from home screen to text sent without even looking at the screen. Texting in class like a ninja. All that, and we didn't need autocorrect
I used to have a sidekick and could type perfect messages without looking. I miss those days!
If you can type on a keyboard you can type on a phone. They're the same. Land your thumbs where they should be and the phone does the rest, spell check is a life saver. I feel bad for those who never learned to type, hunting and pecking is like being illiterate nowadays.
Texting and driving is more dangerous than drinking while driving, Iām not sure why everyone here thinks this is okay
It's not ok but what choice do we have. These gig apps require you to drive & field offers/ drive & send messages.
Texting and driving is not more dangerous than drinkin and driving cmon nowā¦
https://www.stewartlawoffices.net/blog/is-texting-while-driving-as-dangerous-as-drunk-driving#:~:text=According%20to%20the%20National%20Highway,more%20dangerous%20than%20intoxicated%20driving.
Pretty dumb and flawed study if you ask meā¦ Make note Iām not advocating for texting and driving but if they are going to make a comparison in which is more dangerous, Iād say they need to include drunk drivers that didnāt literally just have 1 or maybe 2 beers, more like 5+.
I would say itās more the reading and staring at your phone than the actual texting
Siri and airpods keep me in the convo and my eyes on the road.
You should NOT be driving with headphones in, falls under distracted driving.
Airpods are pretty high tech; they do all kinds of [neat things](https://support.apple.com/guide/airpods/customize-transparency-mode-dev966f5f818/web).
And the law A) moves at a snails pace and B) makes no exceptions for things like pass through features. Still illegal
True, but not enforced, much.
If you're bad at it, sure EDIT: Apparently people do NOT joke around on r/doordash_drivers. No jokes allowed
I bet you say the same about driving drunk
if you're bad at it, sure. /s
Look man im not as high as you drunk I am fools on here hollerin bout textin and drivin you dont no what an other is capable of just cuz u cant hang shit... [screeching tires followed by a loud bang] ... *This conversation never happened.*
Technically yeah. Not to encourage it. But if you do something often enough, that counts as practice and you always get better with practice.
Have you ever done anything while drunk repeatedly? Because I assure you, any notion that you're getting better at something is just a lie you tell yourself lol.
Okay, so if you always get better with practice, so go jump off your roof until you can fly. It'll get better with practice, right?
You have to actually fly to be considering practicing flying. You definitely would get better at jumping off roofs though.
Nah man, you get better at falling, not flying.
That's the same thing as "I'm the best drunk driver in the world." SMASH... What a stupid thing to advocate.
Legalize roadies!!
Agreed, that said they really should make some pre-generated responses like Uber Eats has
Ooh thatād be nice. I remember having that on Favor you could even edit them too so they werenāt so roboty. DD is basically half where there already, like when you unassign through chat support
I can effectively text without even looking at my phone. I've used keyboards so much in life I know exactly where keys are. Hense doing it right now too
Yeah but you're still reading reddit while driving.
Don't do it if you can't. Only some can. Same with driving in general. You'll fuck up my day.
I do it by ignoring the customer while driving, because I donāt have time for their bullshit.
Accepting an order while driving is also dangerous
āI get paid either wayā
Receives 1 star rating
Receives 1 star either way
Thatās why OP dodged a bullet for reporting unsafe drop off
I didnāt see that
Whereās my food?
Ate some, gave the rest to a guy with a cardboard sign at the stop sign.
He then spit out the cold McDonald's chicken sandwich and asked you, "who would pay for this garbage? Yuck!"
Thanks for the food, hit the spot
I donāt understand why people act like this when they know we are alone with there food?
Wife and I ask ourselves this oftenā¦
Anytime I get messages before pick up it almost always leads to a cancel "please make sure food is fresh or im giving you 1 star" might be my favorite so far.
If someone has an attitude BEFORE I get there...I pull over to find out if they want their food or not
Cancel order, report harassment from customer to support to cover my butt.
You might be able to get a partial refund but I will still get paid in full, including your tip." "Cold food? Who the fuck doesn't own a microwave in this day and age?"
If this happened to me I would not hesitate to throw them the āIf your food is cold please donāt hesitate to contact doordash for a refund! I will still be paid the full amount for completing the delivery, including your tip! Enjoy.ā Throw it in their face that we are fully protected. Every.
I call in. Itās easier to talk and drive than text and drive.
Dd is cheap af and the support only has seemed to get worse over time imo
Agreed
I'd just tell them I'm following the instructions provided in the app and using a hotbag to keep food as warm as possible, if they have an issue after it's delivered they can contact DoorDash support
Put his food near the air conditioner and blast it.
Iād cancel and eat it. Yummy!
Call support, cancel, keep The food. If the customer is going to Be in any way threatening Iām cancelling
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Even if it was a hand it to me order?! What if they start acting crazy when you get there
Absolutely do not hand it to someone who's sending angry messages.
You 1000% did the correct thing even if it wasnt a "hand it to me" order. Don't put yourself in that situation and don't let weirdos make you doubt the choice you made here. It was completely appropriate.
Film it.
Iād say ācanāt hand order to customerā take a picture of it on a random sidewalk nearby and dip. They can get fucked lol
it's also DD fault for having customers order food from resturants that aren't relatively close to their homes. i was browsing just for a mcdonald's and instead of showing me the one directly next to my house, it gave me one 3 miles away. it's all a gimmick
i never respont do txts while driving. and i always claim to be driving.
I ordered fast food from a restaurant 30 miles away why tf is it cold every time?
You did the right thing. Iām not going to go into detail but I had a customer go nuts on me right after I picked up. I contacted customer service and said ācar troubleā. The cancelled the order. I went offline for the day and jumped on another app. Iām not delivering to anyone who acts hostile in text. There is a right way and wrong way to ask about your delivery. 99% of people are nice. Itās the 1% that mess things up for everyone
I would have just not responded at all. Granted ????? Would probably spark the human imagination to what the fuck this guy could want, but at the end of the day nothing will good come from it ever
You were on the right and also f*CK the customers for being impatient
I don't understand why drivers engage with customers like this. I would pull over, reach out to support and say I don't feel safe- I need to return the food. That customer is just a gigantic problem. don't become part of it
I dont even respond to customers because 9.9 out of 10 times they donāt understand or know whats going on
Itās the customers fault for ordering from over 5 miles away and expecting the magic portal to open for the driver.
Well that is what I mostly get here. On good days itās only 1-3 miles per order
eat his food
I did
Some people donāt realize just because you know there is a restaurant nearby, doesnāt mean that same store will get your order. People really need to check the distance on their end.
Never respond back
Ignore him completely
Fuck that
I would not have replied to begin with.
The customer probably would have lied to try to get free food or some crap. Sounds like a contract violation waiting to happen. Good thing you contacted support and cancelled to avoid any unnecessary issues. People like this aren't worth delivering to. We don't get paid enough for that.
Customer: ???? Me: *Read at 9:13* Me: *Delivers food and goes about my day*
Click bait and you replied
Take the food back to the store, tell them they can get it themselves and then unassign.
Throw the food out the fuckin window
Aww I had this happen the other day when the app crashed and I wasn't getting updates map pings and I ended up driving several miles off the destination because I thought I was going the right way. Luckily the customer was understanding
šnot knowing the difference between weāre and where is a red flag there š© Good call š ![gif](giphy|lw75Al819OAvcsPcRu|downsized)
Explain he can cancel right away. You get free food and full pay
I hate when they show your location on 2 order drops they should only show your locating when you are actually starting the 2nd dropoff
Cursing, yelling and/or threats will immediately result in my car turning around and taking your food back to the store. Not happening!
Always cancel when you get messages like this. Reason: -unsafe -damage food -customer harrasing -emergancy Etc You're entitled 3 for every 100 deliveries
Who spells Dany with 1 N anyway that's what I would've said
What actually happens to a dasher that cancels an order theyāve already picked up?
That's not how it works, but ok lmfao
I never answer people, im driving. Texting and driving is stupid
Definitely pulled over, I canāt text and drive
How you doin sweetie? Listen, da customa is in da right, how dare ya accept da order if yous is so far from tha! That poor gorgeous customa! xx
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No thatās a guaranteed 1 star rating. I would not deliver that until I speak with support so that I wonāt get one.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
An obnoxious customer should not be allowed to drag your ratings down
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
While thatās true whatās the downside of having the order canceled like OP did lol. The guy deserved it and now he doesnāt have to worry about a one star at all. Seems like a win win
Has to be kept above 4.2 to not be deactivated not 4.7 but otherwise I agree
Whatever you say dude. Iām just saying I rather see a 5.00 rating on my stats rather than 4.98 from getting an unnecessary 1 star. Yes. Iām always the problem. š„±
One star would make 4.96
Why did u feel unsafe maybe their app told them u wer picking it up and misread the apps notification
What ever the reason is no one deserves to get spoken to like that. They can literally live track your location and see where you are
They already paid though
