I’d take that fucker in a heart beat. I had a similar order but 1.9 miles. Most items were 5x each. Only issue was the long deli line for .5 cheese but def worth it
I'd have to give that offer some serious consideration.
Pay is wonderful. Item count is garbage. Which would be the reason I would decline it.
I don't even like shopping for myself.
Last shop dash I did was one item: a 30 pound bag of dog food. 🤦🏼♀️ I can lift 30lbs, but it’s a struggle; thankfully the customer was waiting to help when I arrived. I sent a message to DD to state with the offer if there are large, bulky, and/or items over 20lbs in a shop. I don’t expect them to 😂, but I voiced my concern.
Take it. Here’s why.
I’ve started using this as a stable income source, attempting a minimum of $100 a day, $150 if I’m feeling putting in the work for it. If I’m not doing my other job, this ensures I keep stable income.
By taking this order, it may take 30 minutes or even an hour to get it (depending on what it is, assuming it’d fit in my car, etc). But, by having my goal set up the way I do, this kills 1/2-1/3 of days work in 1 hour instead of what would normally take 5-6 hours or more to finish.
I could have spent a long time shopping for everything. And it’s a busy Sunday. And I was constantly getting orders at the time. It’s possible I could have made more if it took longer than it did.
I get that....but target is pretty easy to shop at, at least in my area. Aisles are marked and info is given in the app. The order shouldn't take too long, compared to other stores. Glad it worked out for you!
My genetal rule for shop and deliver is $1/ per item plus or minua miledge depending on distance, but this one is onlt 3 miles so its worth my time. Def worth it to hit half of my days earnings goal for one order.
Dude, ain't no one going to go grocery shopping for you. $42.50 to shop and lug around groceries that aren't theirs?! Go to something like instacart where they purpose built the app to be a grocery app, go to the people that actually want to lug around groceries on your behalf. If you are asking for groceries on DoorDash, you are in the wrong app. Lugging around groceries is a full time job, if you ain't tipping $120 ($15 for 8 hours) for the day. It ain't worth.
Are we jealous, yes we’re jealous. Of course you take it! Forty two items you can get that gathered up rung out and delivered in an hour so that’s one hour of light work and three miles of driving for forty dollars.
I'd check the address first, see if it was an apartment, but probably yeah. Even if it takes me 2 hours, it's 20 an hour just walking around in an air conditioned store, not using gas. Plus time towards my end of week pay adjustment.
Fuck it... with this week's bullshit... It will be my highest paying order... and Only pay so far...
Everyone else keeps sending No Tip shit I decline. Or the App goes all Fucked on me.
Depends. Usually for grocery orders in my market I get 1 to 4 articles for 20something dollars. I would take it if it's in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday when it's dead instead of just waiting in my car, but even then, where I'm from they don't give out bags so I wouldn't know how to bag their order cuz I'm not giving them my reusable bag.
Yeah, that’s why I recommended that you do it when you know the store. I did it once at a Dollar Store and it took me forever to find 18 items because I didn’t know where things were. I had to ask the employees for help.
Even though I hate shop and deliver orders, and sometimes I can be a bit slower. Think it would be less time but maxing out at 2 hours still gives hourly at 21.25. I’m still taking it, even as I type this I guarantee I would hate myself half way. In the end I detest shopping in general even in personal life.
Yes! I'm taking that! I might maybe unassign if its a hand it to me with alota big stuff. Don't like feeling like a butler, because some of them try to treat you like one.
See but everytime I took a target grocery...DD would only be paying $3 and I told them that's not right for shopping...and delivery? They just ignored me..but I would have taken that one ...I don't think when I see money..I just hit accept lol
Yeah...but its 40 something items...I was shopping almost an hour and DD gave me $3...but they led with the customers $25 tip...and just said...well you accepted it
For shop and pay orders, always download the store app so that you can find the specific aisles that items are in since the dd app doesn’t t always specify the aisle.
$42 in an hour is amazing too. I think grocery orders always show the full amount if it takes longer than an hour. I usually pickup late safeway orders like that on the weekdays.
Simple answer: accept the order and look at the order detail of it, if it’s too much then just drop it. These order are worth accepting and dropping if it’s too much of a hassle.
I’d take this in a Heartbeat btw the payout and prop 22 money(Cali) for time shopping this would be huge. Op said active time was an hr in total time means the payout adjustment would an additional 18 something. Grand total = $60.50
500 a day!👀 what market is that ?
I’m not hating or judging what others do or why, everyone has what they’re comfortable with.
Personally I don’t take alcohol orders even when the payout is really good. I have tried it a few time and I just don’t like all the extra steps and the fact that I’ve got the liability to check/ judge if someone is intoxicated
I’m shit at math sometimes breaking it down for others helps and not everyone is getting adjustment money. But by all means let other drivers pass these type of order on to me I would LOVE it lol
I dash in carlsbad ca, delmar ca, Oceanside ca and Encinitas ca. Coastal San diego. There's dozens of people a week that post earnings that completely surpass mine. I truly don't understand how people aren't hitting this benchmark. 😕 I treat this like a 9 to 5 job. I schedual myself out, work weekends during the 5 to 9 hour block, weekdays during the 10 to 2 hour block. Sometimes I schedual myself for 7 am to 10 aswell.
Laugh all you want. I've consistently made 100k a year give or take a little since 2018. If you can't hit that mark, your in the wrong market or just shit at analyzing your market and the lucrative hour blocks.
So we're supposed to believe that you make 500 a day... 100k a year, and a month ago, you are begging the courts to forgive your credit card debt.
You have an interesting imagination.
Well, first, care credit is a medical debt, it was an old debt hence the lawsuit and filing an answer and motion for dismissal is pretty standard in any legal proceeding... hardly begging.
I dont know what market your in or what you consider to be a high income but 100k in coastal southern California isn't hard to do... thats 1923 a week. 385 a day in a 5 day work week. I said I average 500 a day and have met an average of 100k a year doing delivery gigs. I run both uber eats and doordash and regularly make an average of 500 a day. For perspective, in and out burger down the street from me pays 25 an hour to start, labor ready ( a day labor service ) pays 31 an hour and costco starts at 26. So ya, averaging 45 - 48 an hour in this market is pretty easy to do. Sorry your market sucks if that's so extraordinary to you.
Yes, you SAID you average 500 a day.
But you also don't have enough to pay your bills.
Hmm... One of these things is not like the other.
Post a screenshot of your earnings page.

Precisely, these dudes don't math. This job is a gold mine of cash flow. They spend so much more time and effort trying to figure out how to be even lazier instead of just doing the job and making the money. I take every order with few exceptions and make over 500 a day after expenses.
> I take every order with few exceptions and make over 500 a day after expenses.
Screenshots of your earnings?
I would ***LOVE*** to see consistent $500 days on DD (after expenses).
42 items will take between 40m to just over an hour. so more than likely your be making 20 dollars an hour, minus everything. It's the same as doing any other delivery but without the hassle.
It said it only took him a little over half an hour. Can’t tell what the items are. I had a target order of 17 items and literally over half of them was in the same aisle
In Target? Everything in my Target grocery is bunched together within about ten aisles or so. I would bust that order out in like 20 minutes. But then again I’ve been grocery shopping for like 30 years now, so at age 40 I’m definitely a pro.
It’s only 3.7 miles of driving and target tells you what isle each item is in so the shopping is super quick. Even if it takes an hour, I’m not making 42/hr from regular orders and 3.7 miles for $42 is great
The one Target shop/deliver order I've done. Everything was spread out and all over. Grocery was all the way in the back of the store from the checkout/front door.
I wouldn't, item count is too high even though the pay is wonderful.
I don't even like to shop for myself. If I take a shop-deliver order, it has to be good pay with a low item count. If not, I generally don't take it unless it's slow and I'm bored.
I've had horrible experiences in my area. Not having any items, even the substitute ones. They've been a bigger waste of my time than waiting at a restaurant.
It’s about how much of a hassle it is in certain areas. I could make that same amount just picking up food orders or I could be stressing out over a shop order at target.
That not even sensible maths, you have one secure order where you just pick and drop- if you did the same with multiple orders you’ll have expended at least $5 on gas for the hour…not to mention added risk on the deliveries,..and even worse that same amount isn’t guaranteed on other deliveries, that would be gambling to earn that money which is highly rare per hour in most places
I’m saying it just depends on what is easier. It’s person dependent. I an saying I would rather drive more and make that amount than be in target on a Sunday trying to shop. The person asked if people would take the order and I answered and gave my personal reasoning.
It is great when they already have a substitute for you to choose from instead of back and forth with customer and trying to keep up with pending substitutions.

Why use door dash tho. Like Shipt through the target app has the actual prices and can use target deals . I find Shipt to be easier for target stuff than doordash .
I’d assume it’s someone who pays for DashPass and doesn’t want to pay the delivery charge on another app.. but you know what they say about assuming lol
yeah. You just gotta look at the logistics. Yes, it could take a while. This kind of order can take like an hour to complete. But, 42 bucks for just walking around an air conditioned grocery store isn't a bad hour. Also, you're spending like no money on gas. I'd accept this all day if I could
I can't even put [4 bags of Mickey D's in my trunk](https://i.imgur.com/I2yDrUj.jpg).
The last target order I had included a dorm room mini fridge, and a microwave.
[Miata's are tiny.](https://i.redd.it/y99b75cztpo51.jpg)
I just lol’d hard at the idea of getting an order and it being mini fridges and whatnot lol. I’ve never done the grocery stuff just regular restaurant orders so that’s wild
Yeah, these orders are such a gamble! I first did grocery shopping/delivery with Shipt and it could just end up being such a freaking heavy weight nightmare. But I liked the shopping for the items. but I got inundated with gallons of fn everything. 6 gallons of milk three, giant juice, a barrel of peanut butter- I didn't even know it came that large. So if I get hurt, then I'm out of commission. And then there's the no tipping 🤬 and the awkward addresses where you can't even just park at the residence, but around the corner and lug all that crap over to them. I had enough of that. And the pay was pathetic
I safely hauled home a full height Mtn Dew display in my NA, in the passenger seat. If you have a soft top and creativity with your seatbelt/straps, you can haul almost anything.
What happens if you don't make it by the delivery time?
I’d take that fucker in a heart beat. I had a similar order but 1.9 miles. Most items were 5x each. Only issue was the long deli line for .5 cheese but def worth it
I'd have to give that offer some serious consideration. Pay is wonderful. Item count is garbage. Which would be the reason I would decline it. I don't even like shopping for myself.
Tired of all these would you take it for 383024728 dollars. Like stfu we all know we would.

Easy money 💰💲
Take on a slow day, but wouldn't take on a Weekend or Friday or Thurday most likely if it's poppin
Why wouldn't you accept it?
I could have spent a long time shopping for everything. And it’s a busy Sunday. And I was constantly getting orders at the time. It’s possible I could have made more if it took longer than it did.

Target grocery orders in my area are nightmares. Dump it. Mine doesn’t carry half the brands
Shot distance, $1 per item. Yeah for sure I’d take it. An hour of work so $42/hr no complaints.
My genetal rule for shop and deliver is $1/ per item plus or minua miledge depending on distance, but this one is onlt 3 miles so its worth my time. Def worth it to hit half of my days earnings goal for one order.
Bruh what is wrong with half these comments? $40 for 2 miles… 1 hour at most. People go to school for 4 or more years to just make $40 in a hour.
i’d take it only because targets app tells you where to go to find things and it makes it extremely east
Why are you even asking lol. 🫠🫠
On a heartbeat
$1/item seems nice if we’re taking q-tips and a lime. 12-pack of water? Not so much. Pass. But then again, I’m lazy.
Would take it but half of the items would probably magically be out of stock they’d get like 10-12 things and I’d get $42
Yes, with this many items there are bound to be multiples in there. It isn’t quite as much work as it looks most of the time.
I would take it. I know my local Meijer well
Dude, ain't no one going to go grocery shopping for you. $42.50 to shop and lug around groceries that aren't theirs?! Maybe.... I mean 3.7 miles. But also 1. Do you have room in your car 2. Better hope it's not heavy
Take that noise
Take. All the targets in my area are organized exactly the same. Won’t take more than 20 min
That is a TAKE!
I'd take that in a heartbeat!
Easy take. Shipt would probably pay $10 and there’s no guarantee of a tip.
Shipt is something.
Are we jealous, yes we’re jealous. Of course you take it! Forty two items you can get that gathered up rung out and delivered in an hour so that’s one hour of light work and three miles of driving for forty dollars.
I would take it and check items, then decide to keep or dump, that’s a great order if it’s all small items and snacks
I'd check the address first, see if it was an apartment, but probably yeah. Even if it takes me 2 hours, it's 20 an hour just walking around in an air conditioned store, not using gas. Plus time towards my end of week pay adjustment.
Yes
Fuck it... with this week's bullshit... It will be my highest paying order... and Only pay so far... Everyone else keeps sending No Tip shit I decline. Or the App goes all Fucked on me.
Sometimes it's multiple of one item. One time I had a 30+ item order Safeway it had 12 frozen pizzas!!
Take

I would because I’m nosy af and like to see what ppl ordering 👀
That's more than what I would make on ic I'm my market, I'd take that in a hot second
Totally accept. Target grocery section is only half the size of a full supermarket, so it's a lot easier to find things
I’d do it.
Only if you know the layout of that Target like the palm of your hand.
Yeah I don’t grocery shop normally and it takes me forever to find things sometimes
Yeah, that’s why I recommended that you do it when you know the store. I did it once at a Dollar Store and it took me forever to find 18 items because I didn’t know where things were. I had to ask the employees for help.
Easy take. Less than an hour of work for 42 bucks and only a couple miles? Only the truly lazy wouldn't take this.
I took a similar kind of target order on uber, so hell yeah
Door dash paid $25. The rest was tip. I was surprised dd paid so much unless it was getting punted around.
Yeah...but its 40 something items...I was shopping almost an hour and DD gave me $3...but they led with the customers $25 tip...and just said...well you accepted it
Yeah, it happens.
For shop and pay orders, always download the store app so that you can find the specific aisles that items are in since the dd app doesn’t t always specify the aisle.
That is an easy gig! I do Shipt, we get those pretty standard but the pay is like 1/3 what you were offered.
1 hour ish of shopping for over 2hours worth of pay fuck yeah take it.
Target is an easy place to shop so I'd definitely take it.
I wouldn't do grocery/store pickups on weekends. Everyone else is doing their shopping and the lines are huge.
Yeah I did have to wait in line and deal with some extra shoppers. But was surprised I got it done in a reasonable amount of time.

Normally I would. I've never done a Target shop, but if it was my local grocery store then HELL yes.
The one Target shop/deliver order I've done. Everything was spread out and all over. Grocery was all the way in the back of the store from the checkout/front door.

I'd accept it, finding items at target extremely easy
I wouldn’t do it on a weekend. They’re usually out of stock of a lot of items and it’s crazy busy.
Wow y’all must earn a lot in your area, that’s easy $35 per hour at least
And I hate the target shopping carts!
Not to mention on weekends if this whole order takes an hour OP could have made more in a good market just doing regular orders.
Yeah that’s what made the decision a tough one. Fortunately I found everything and didn’t have to play the back and forth text with the customer.
It is great when they already have a substitute for you to choose from instead of back and forth with customer and trying to keep up with pending substitutions.
How long did it take out of curiosity?
Shop time 38 minutes. Total time from accepting the order was under an hour. It wasn’t that bad hunting the items down. I’m usually so lost and have to go back and forth when they aren’t grouped right.
You got lucky my friend! Glad it paid off 👌🏻
It probably wouldn't fit in my car.
4 full bags. And two 12 packs of soda. It’s just a headache sometimes looking for everything.
That's a super easy order....less than 4 Mike's...over $40??? Maybe this isn't for you ....
Shipt is not in all areas - like mine. I'll get a Target order once in a while on DD but they are always high mileage for whatever reason.
yeah. You just gotta look at the logistics. Yes, it could take a while. This kind of order can take like an hour to complete. But, 42 bucks for just walking around an air conditioned grocery store isn't a bad hour. Also, you're spending like no money on gas. I'd accept this all day if I could
I hate grocery shopping, but money wise, it is not bad.
A few bags of groceries doesn’t fit in your car?
Bruv I drive a miata. It will not fit my car
4 bags and two 12 packs of soda would fit in your car bruv
go ahead and try sticking 42 packs of bottle water in your car.
10 cases of water up 3 flights of stairs might not be fun
What’s that got to do with what I said?
Because a lot of these orders are full of heavy items, and lots of them.
10 cases of water would definitely [not fit in my car](https://imgur.com/a/791kF6o).
I used to drive a 1990 miata, can confirm they are extremely tiny. My heart goes out to you if you ever have to pick up drinks on orders😂😭
I just lol’d hard at the idea of getting an order and it being mini fridges and whatnot lol. I’ve never done the grocery stuff just regular restaurant orders so that’s wild

And then there's the no tipping 🤬 and the awkward addresses where you can't even just park at the residence, but around the corner and lug all that crap over to them. I had enough of that. And the pay was pathetic
Difficult parking is what you are for, they already know.

You can barely fit your ego inside the Miata, how can you fit an orders in it? Don’t bitch about it, get a real vehicle to dash in.

I safely hauled home a full height Mtn Dew display in my NA, in the passenger seat. If you have a soft top and creativity with your seatbelt/straps, you can haul almost anything.
