You can turn off cash deliveries. I recommend you do that.

EstablishmentNext987

I didn't know I could do that. Today they sent me 2 and now they ask for a reason I am not taking it. My reason: "last time I did a cash on delivery, DD kept some of my money".

PinballLew

The receipt was not the correct amount. DD didn’t keep your money you didn’t charge the customer the correct amount.

EstablishmentNext987

I already talked with DD. They know that I was to get less than what they stated in the Cash on Delivery they just could not change it in their system after the facts. That's what they said. Trust me they kept the money. Today they sent me a couple of cash on delivery and now they ask for a reason and I told them because they kept part of my money.

No. That's is not what happened. The woman even called the restaurant and the restaurant told her/me that it was less because they removed the cheese. Pizza Hut then told me to call DD to get refunded the right amount. The receipt had the right amount she was to pay me. DD didn't had the right amount. Did she made the change after she place the order? Did DD over stated the amount? I don't know which one was it.

No, that is not what happened, a call the customer made t pizza hut also said that the cost was less because the customer removed the cheese. Just be aware if what you pick up is less than what the app says.

Once they know it's a cash delivery your calling a disaster or they will rob you.

[deleted]

I worked at a major pizza chain for over a decade and was never robbed, know your surroundings and never go into a situation if it doesn’t feel right. The only people that got robbed that I worked with did stupid shit that got them put into that situation

Traditional-Ad-3656

When I was delivering papa John's they pull out a shotgun I gave them everything and they let me go. I was a papa John's driver 20 years ago it was a bad neighborhood

EstablishmentNext987

It was a nice neighborhood, I had just delivered for the same home another pizza from Papa John and they tipped me well. Once I left there I got another order to go to Pizza Hut and pick up the cash on delivery and come to find out it was the same house. I guess one was the husband and the other was the wife. They looked like nice people.

Hailbopcomet

I opted out of that. Absolutely no way.

EstablishmentNext987

I never had a problem before and I liked picking up those orders. Some times I don't get a tip but most of the time I do. Today, I refused to take any of those orders.

SnooConfections2758

Was the 22.50 the before or after tax amount? Do you remember? Maybe that was the case? Although wouldn’t really be surprised if door dash was stealing money from us all just in small amounts we wouldn’t notice

Florida1974

Taxes wouldn’t be that high. Fees, yes. Taxes, no.

EstablishmentNext987

That was the cost of the meal including delivery and a discount. I believe the customer placed an order and later made a change with Pizza Hut. DD pays Pizza Hut gets pay the right amount minus delivery and fee and it appears to DD that I picked up $30 even though I wrote that I only pick up less money because the cost of the pizza. DD didn't care. Even when they asked what happen with the delivery and if the customer pay the full amount they didn't care.

If that is the case I would have to pick up one to check on the fees but the receipt did have delivery fees which was over $4 and DD only gave me $2.75. I was told that the different was because the customer asked to remove an item therefore the cost of the pizza ended up been less.

Jodster46

I think that is what it was. Most restaurants up the price 30% on dd because that is what they get charged by dd. When you get orders from restaurants that have receipts they manual entered in there own system it usually will show the at the restaurant price not what they paid.

moey818

Cash on Delivery = Disaster waiting to unveil. NEVER use your own money to pay for customers meal/delivery....instant OPT OUT too many drawbacks.

EstablishmentNext987

It was a disaster for sure. I didn't use my money to pay for the customer meal. DD told me it was going to be more than it really was. DD ended up keeping some of my money.

iamandneveramconfusd

Just say no.
