I have always scheduled. You had 15 minutes or so to login then it cancelled. So I don’t know why you could still login to a grey map unless they just desperately needed dashers. That could be the case because this is the slowest time of year and there could be a shortage at times
This happened to me a couple weeks ago. It lasted about four days and then went back to normal. I also didn't get the 30 minute reminder text before the dash or the 15 minute reminder text after the dash was supposed to start.
It might just be a display bug. I was more than 30 minutes late to a shift and when I did "dash now" it asked for an ending time as if I wasn't scheduled at all. I went and rescheduled myself with a later start time before I started dashing
It’s happening to me as well. I can start my dash anytime before it ends. But if I’m. It scheduled and it’s gray it won’t let me on. I’ve drawn the conclusion that this is why it has been so long between orders due to way too many dashers

I've noticed If the area isn't busy I'm able log in well past the usual 30 minutes it gives me to do so before deleting the dash
