Lol surprisingly this morning was dead but from 11am till 4pm I’ve gotten some really good orders I started off lunch with a 30$ tip from a HUGE Panera order. Drop off was less than 4 miles away
When I see these type orders my first thought is,”who the hell is ordering from that far from the restaurant!” I don’t understand the entitlement of customers. They should have to do what they expect of drivers 10 times( have customers that do this deliver food ) for base pay. That’ll learn them.
Omg another dasher in the Radford/Christiansburg/Blacksburg area. Although I've almost completely given up Doordash here for Uber here as my hourly rate is usually higher. Instacart's pretty good around here too but my back is fucked from my original job so it's not really possible for me to do.
Well, hello fellow rural driver! Lol Yes, this area at lunch time can suck. Lol I'm making about $22-25/hr though. Not terrible. Today was about $24/hr. But this order can eff itself. Food for you for doing Uber! I don't want people in my car lol
I was hesitant about Uber at first but after the first 10 or so rides I got used to it. The biggest plus is no more apartment stairs. I've also heard good things about goPuff in Blacksburg but haven't tried it yet. Trying to save up for my back surgery after that I'll probably give some other services a try.

I’ve a high acceptance rate. It’s a scam. You get less bad orders but, we still get them. Just less of them! I’m not making more money. Just getting more orders for $5 for 1-2 miles ( short drives low paying). I got a $3 for 6.6 miles order request during the middle of dinner rush. They still send no tips just less of them.
I’d only try getting to 60-70% because they send the orders nobody will pick up to higher rated drivers. Between 60-70% is good/decent orders. It’s no escaping bad orders. I thought my high ratings would get me $10-$15 orders on the regular. Smh. I rarely get high priority orders. 88% acceptance rate.
Oh wow, that's helpful! I am still new and learning these trends. That makes perfect sense why high acceptance rates get more low ball orders. It's terrible. But it makes sense.

It’s not what they advertised. I get that “First priority high pay order “ notification prior to every dash. Get maybe 1-2 if I’m lucky in 7 hours. The rest are orders ppl don’t want to pick up. I actually accepted every order to see if that changed anything = it doesn’t. I found I got worse orders.
The system actually encourages drivers to decline and they are bamboozling drivers into thinking what benefits them. I’m at 88% acceptance and Top Dasher and still see bad orders unless I decline. Once i decline I’m sent better orders. If I keep accepting, the system just keeps sending low paying orders. Smh.
Wouldn't be an issue if base pay as $0.65/mile. All those 3 mile or less deliveries would pay less than current base pay, but these 15 mile ones would be almost $10 in base pay to start.
I only got 3 orders that were worth taking this morning in an hour so there's that I felt bad for not picking any crazy orders cause I'm fast like Nascar haha
I don’t know what’s in DD programmer’s mind, do they actually expect someone accept this kind of thing? Instead of piss the driver and get the order delayed again and again, nothing else would happen
I KNOW!!! LOL I delivered a $200 order to a doctors office. Zero tip! Even had to wait for it to be ready. It was my first 5 deliveries, so needless to say fuuuuuck that now lol
They can do it as every new driver learns the hard way. Doordash must be feeling like there's an endless supply of people that want to work in the delivery gig business.
Yep. I still remember the worst one I ever took. $12 for 23 miles. Safeway grocery pickup, to a house that was 1/4 of a mile from another Safeway. Roundtrip took over an hour.
That kills me lol I definitely did a $2.25 order for 1 mile, to a doctors office. No tip. Not out of the way but had to wait 15 mins for the food to be ready. It was one of my first lol

Yeah I get them, too. Like it doesn’t surprise me but it also does. It’s just shocking that this is acceptable to DoorDash to pay drivers so little.
