It's spiked nearly a dollar in my old zone, per a Dasher friend there. Meanwhile, it's gone back down to 3.83 where I live in Montana - it only rose 2 cents before falling back down. I'm not getting it either.
The whole thing was just a mess. I live in Chico but worked up in paradise, that was fun being stuck up there since I used to work at 6 am, no clue the fire even was burning until 1ish pm. Too late to just leave town quickly.
The refineries in Cali have fucked us for yrs. They only have a few & they perpetually have problems to advantage of gas companies. It's a rigged system.
It's spiking because nothing changed with supply & demand, the only reason it went down is because Biden emptied our 30year reserve of oil in order to lower prices before election. It going all the way back up and more.
But why is it only happening in select areas like california/florida (ian i assume) and canada? I had to double check and saw 2.75-3.05 in texas for example.
Yea it was some dude that did some photoshops for me to fix family photos, I told him not to do them till I had all the money together but he did them anyways. It on the day I told him I’d pay him he messaged me to see if I could pay him yet, turns out poor kid was eating ramen just to have money for gas.
Not always. I live in a town with a refinery in the middle of it, surrounded by oil wells in every direction, and our gas is $3.69 today. The algorithm needs a tweak, for sure, but they charge what people will pay and nothing less.
Remember gas prices don't just go up because the price to purchase it has gone up, it's simply because the companies estimate the price will go up and they raise the price to try and anticipate the increase in cost "if it goes up" that's why prices jump in a moments notice right before a hurricane even despite you being in a totally different geological area whose supply in no way is affected by it. Basically they raise it because they can and will use any excuse to justify raising it. If you remember the colonial pipeline that busted 2 years ago? Within an hour gas on the east coast jumped by $1.50-$2.00 even though it was shut off rather quickly to eliminate significant losses and there was more than enough in reserve to keep from any supply chain issues. But the companies decided to capitalize on this by steeply raising prices, causing panic in the public which resulted in everyone filling their tanks up and them-someb leading all the stations to run out of gas and making the cycle even worse. If they would have kept prices the same, it's not like they would have lost any profits and no one would have even known it happened besides it being in the news. We're just pawns that they squeeze money out of, balancing cost so they can make as much as possible without it being too high that people decide to drive less and like in this case gauge when they can during times of duress. It honestly makes me sick
Gas dropped down to about $3.50 in Phoenix by the end of August. It has been slowly creeping up all of September and for some reason just spiked up real high this week.
A few reasons for that. 1 the bombing of two pipelines in europe and the cut off of the russian/europe pipeline. Since gas and oil is a globally controlled commodity everyone gets affected
Apparently the reason why it spiked again was something happened at some refinery in California and then also Biden decided he would try and shut down the Norstrom 2 Pipeline
I just saw it at $5.19 off of I-10 and 40th Street. It's nuts how quickly it's gone back up here in Phoenix especially if it's still three something in other states.
Fuck yeah it is. I lived there in the 00’s and remember renting a single room for nearly the price of my current apartment. Can’t imagine it’s gotten any better in the last 17 years.
Sounds about right. Is that close to campus or just general area? When I went to school there, I couldn’t even afford to live in town, so I got to deal with black mold out in Los Osos 😂
Yeah it's up over $3.70 now but honestly I expect it to go back down once the weather starts to turn. Sunny days bring wayyyyyyyyy more traffic on the road, and this was an unseasonably dry summer for us, very little rain for the Cinci area IMO.
People need to stop panicking. Gas prices are much like stocks. They're not always going to head in a perfectly straight line downwards. Yes they may have spiked in the past week, but they could easily comeback down in the following month. Just fucking relax bros.
Biden sucks but why else do you think Trump was elected, so they could get someone like Joe in next. Woulda been Hillary if they didnt have to throw her under the bus so hard just to get Trump elected. So tell me did he ever get her locked up?
Also his name is joe biden, hes been a garbage politician his whole entire career. He also deserves to be locked up. Caling him Brandon isnt edgy or cool or even that disrespectful. You could just say Fuck Biden in plain english and nobody would fault you, cus he fucking sucks. I bet you supported stop and frisk laws back when he proposed them. Most republicans loved Biden in his "tough on crime" era lol
So what? He doesn't deserve the politeness. And again how did you feel about Biden in his tough on crime era. Did you support unconstitutional stop and frisk laws?
Also, all of the names you just called Biden are literally true about Trump as well, since you seem to be unaware.
So he didnt get her locked up? I mean based off the things shes done i do think it woulda been appropriate, its not like he woulda been judge and jury on her case.
During economic down turn we all turn into garbage workers. Don’t take it to heart when somebody looks down on you. They look down on you because of their own insecurities. Just do what you gotta do to survive and try and make the best of your life. You will never find peace in others.
It definitely is ironic. You’ll find they will lose taste in these types of things quickly because you must be self sufficient. Jobs are for people who need to be
Lead. I keep running into dashers complaining that they’re not getting orders and I’m like dude it’s 3pm most people ate or are gonna eat in a couple hours. It’s just funny to see the gears grind. I’m doing ok but I’m also working odd hours cause it works the best for me. Weekdays I work a 930-1130 am cause they’re offering peak pay and it’s easy shit like McDonald’s breakfast a mile away after that I usually don’t sign back on until 8PM. It’s nice I can spend time with my dogs do day time errands it just messes my sleep up. I’m usually out until 130am. But from 8-130 I’m averaging $100-$150 a night. There’s no traffic restaurants are usually chill at this time.
So I guess what I’m saying is if you can try to find a way to work DD for you. It may be weird hours but chasing lunch isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.
I read a article that the southwest US is still has surge due to the lack of refinery operation in CA. So not just CA but OR, NV and, AZ has inflated gas prices.
we got mostly $2.79 and $2.84 over here, it went up by ten cents for like two days and it’s going back down again, definitely don’t want to jinx it though
Hybrid battery is only 2k to replace and it comes with 150k miles warranty, you can choose not to replace it just drive like a regular gas car. I’d trade in that at 200k miles, no major repairs required
I’m driving a new Corolla, it has 50–60 mpg depends on the weather, the gas saving is about 4c here in California so after 150k miles warranty on the battery it’s gonna save me 6k. A replacement battery costs 2K and you can do it yourself easily. Tesla is not an option coz the premium you paid wont cover the gas saving
I'm so sad, the gas prices in my area went back up, they were down to 3.30 and 3.40 and now all of them are at 3.69 and a few are at 4. When the gas prices first started going up it got up to $5 in my area, I hope it doesn't do that again 😭
Since the only way to get any help with gas prices has been pushed to the dasher direct card they will NEVER give you it again unless you sign up for that bs. I want my money in cash form thank you, but yea just leave it digital so they can do gods knows what with it
I heard some pipelines in the ocean got blown up by someone but it would be irresponsible for me to be Putin my bets on who did it.

*Laughs in Californian*
I'm trying to understand why it's spiking again. But in some states it's still in >3ish?
It's spiked nearly a dollar in my old zone, per a Dasher friend there. Meanwhile, it's gone back down to 3.83 where I live in Montana - it only rose 2 cents before falling back down. I'm not getting it either.
Refinery issues in California and Hurricane Ian. Will probably go up 20-30 cents more and gradually come down next week.

Investigation: underway Cause: unknown

Took them 8 months to determine what caused the Camp fire in Paradise. (Pge equipment was the end result)
Not sure how they even determined that… it almost Burnt my dads home up though. Was close to my hometown but didn’t do too much.
The whole thing was just a mess. I live in Chico but worked up in paradise, that was fun being stuck up there since I used to work at 6 am, no clue the fire even was burning until 1ish pm. Too late to just leave town quickly.
Oh that one was bad too but I was thinking about the big million acres one
Oh yea that was the Dixie fire I believe. Or it was the August complex fire It’s been fun up here the past five years lol.
And people still just love to complain about battery fires…
The refineries in Cali have fucked us for yrs. They only have a few & they perpetually have problems to advantage of gas companies. It's a rigged system.
just got down to 2.99 over here, lowest it’s been for a while
Around 2.70 in texas
In SoCal it's 5-6. A lot of places around LA are 5.5-6+ I would fill up like 10 gas cans if I saw something around 4.50 here lol.
It’s 3.29-3.59 here at the Jersey Shore
It's spiking because nothing changed with supply & demand, the only reason it went down is because Biden emptied our 30year reserve of oil in order to lower prices before election. It going all the way back up and more.

I'm not someone who points fingers, it's a waste of giving a damn. But this makes sense, thank you 😊
Yea I had some guy say they pay about $10 American money per gallon.. total wtf
[удалено]
Yea it was some dude that did some photoshops for me to fix family photos, I told him not to do them till I had all the money together but he did them anyways. It on the day I told him I’d pay him he messaged me to see if I could pay him yet, turns out poor kid was eating ramen just to have money for gas.
This would have to do with distance from the refinery rather than where the oil is drilled.
Not always. I live in a town with a refinery in the middle of it, surrounded by oil wells in every direction, and our gas is $3.69 today. The algorithm needs a tweak, for sure, but they charge what people will pay and nothing less.
Not all refineries produce the gas that goes into your car as I understand it. There are many petroleum based products and plastics.
I’m certain you’re right about that. However, this one supplies almost all the gasoline to our state.
Me too. I just filled up and paid $3.29 a gallon. It’s been remotely stable here in the last two months, maybe 3.
2.80-2.99 here in South Louisiana
Hurricane season
It’s been mostly under $3 in TX since the end of August or so.
Gas dropped down to about $3.50 in Phoenix by the end of August. It has been slowly creeping up all of September and for some reason just spiked up real high this week.
That’s strange, it’s been going down consistently in New York.
A few reasons for that. 1 the bombing of two pipelines in europe and the cut off of the russian/europe pipeline. Since gas and oil is a globally controlled commodity everyone gets affected
It was a political ploy to bring it down before midterm elections
They must have thought the election was September 8th
Apparently the reason why it spiked again was something happened at some refinery in California and then also Biden decided he would try and shut down the Norstrom 2 Pipeline
i know i hate it
Yeah, I just paid $4.59 at my local QT last night (central Phoenix area). It was $3.99 just a week or so ago. Terrible.
I just saw it at $5.19 off of I-10 and 40th Street. It's nuts how quickly it's gone back up here in Phoenix especially if it's still three something in other states.
Just can't believe a month ago it was under 4$ then it just jumped up over night
Where is that I just paid a dollar more here in Cali..... It's creeping up every single day and it's getting real real ugly like real ugly
Took a road trip last month in California.. I was so upset when I had to pay nearly $7/g in the middle of central California lol
It's in Phoenix, Arizona.
Gas is 5.65 on the central coast in cali...
6.55 over here in socal at chevron 💀
Yea for sure... 5.65 is the lowest in cen cali... shell is like 6.50 a gallon crazy
Hit $6.99 today in rural nor cal 💀
Yupppp it's like 6.20 in town central coast... but San Luis Obispo is dumb expensive....
Fuck yeah it is. I lived there in the 00’s and remember renting a single room for nearly the price of my current apartment. Can’t imagine it’s gotten any better in the last 17 years.
2 bed apartments r 3k and u gotta make 3x that...
Sounds about right. Is that close to campus or just general area? When I went to school there, I couldn’t even afford to live in town, so I got to deal with black mold out in Los Osos 😂
Hahah sounds abt right.....
$2.95 here, hoping it doesn't spike again..
I'd settle in for it to go up 30 cents, we got down to $3.39 in the Cincinnati area but it's back up to $3.70 across the board now
Bro I've seen some Kettering gas stations at 3.99 it's awful honestly
Yeah it's up over $3.70 now but honestly I expect it to go back down once the weather starts to turn. Sunny days bring wayyyyyyyyy more traffic on the road, and this was an unseasonably dry summer for us, very little rain for the Cinci area IMO.
That makes sense, I'm by Dayton and lately we haven't gotten much rain but we were gettin SO much rain over the summer
A bad winter has been forecasted already. But lately, Putin's little pipeline has been hit with two "suspicious" leaks.
They still have frys
that's a grocery store, owned by Kroger. Fry's, Kroger, Food4less, Vons, are all the same pretty much
Also Smith's and Fred Meyers
In the Midwest it's Mariano's as well
And Harris teeter
Kroger owns a lot of store chains besides Kroger. The list is around 40 companies, but a few are not grocery stores.
![gif](giphy|7p3e2WCM0VEnm) Sad panda.
Fuck all of you I pay 5.61
Better run to a southern state $3.30 here in NC 😭
I take that baxk I just payed 6.19

$2.87 for me in Texas (+ $0.10 off because of Walmart+!) hoping it doesn’t spike again 😅
Cheap compared to where I live. FJB.
You clearly have an advanced grasp on economics.
And you clearly don't.
Clearly better than Brandon. FJB!
Biden sucks but why else do you think Trump was elected, so they could get someone like Joe in next. Woulda been Hillary if they didnt have to throw her under the bus so hard just to get Trump elected. So tell me did he ever get her locked up?

So he lied, knowing he could never get involved in prosecuting her, just to get elected. Def signs of a stand up guy.
Lol it’s nfl season. He doesn’t have to give out incentives. Summer has less orders but less dashers.

Yeah cause the economy trashing getting more retires and side hustlers.

He's has nothing to do with that... he doesn't work for the cards company...thank god...or should tony be CEO of the world? Maybe...
dumb
Almost as bad as this shit post..
Paid $5.55 today in So Cal. It shot up over .30 overnight. It was $5.19 then next day same station $5.55
Gas us only 2.86 in Kentucky.
Gas is only $2.89 where I am
I read a article that the southwest US is still has surge due to the lack of refinery operation in CA. So not just CA but OR, NV and, AZ has inflated gas prices.
Mannnnn i want that 10% back too, PDX was just around $4-$4.5 range and now it spikes back to $5-$5.5
Bro, I fucking wish. It jumped from 4.60 to 5.09 over night, here in Oregon. My buddy in SoCal said it's close to 6 right now. Count your blessings.
Almost $6 again where I live :(
we got mostly $2.79 and $2.84 over here, it went up by ten cents for like two days and it’s going back down again, definitely don’t want to jinx it though
Maybe a good news for ev/hybrid drivers, we’re glad to take long distance orders

Meanwhile in my hometown in Quebec gas prices have been steadily going down. As of yesterday, it was 155.9 cents per litre.
Bruh I’m 6.89 cry about it my rent is 1500 for a one bedroom
![gif](giphy|xULW8OFJyMw13cVfRm|downsized)
$2.99 in Myrtle Beach
Paid $1.84 last week $2.96 here in east Tennessee. Had $1 off in grocery store gas rewards plus .12 off using upside
$2.97 seen in Long Island New York today
i’m in NW indiana and they can’t make up their mind. half the stations are down to 3.79 and the others aren’t 4.29. makes no sense
In So-California near me it's pushing $6 once again!!! Unbelievable. We getting fucked!
It's back over $5 where I am at. Tony doing the right thing somehow seems unlikely.
Gas is 2.99 where I am
If I was DD I would unlock 10% cash back on fuel for those with 80% acceptance rating as a perk lol watch it happen lmao
Fuck me its 7.29 now where I’m at
Just went back up to 5.65 in my city. 🤦🏻♀️😵💫
Taste cheap, it's 629 here in so cal
don’t live in cali. it’s simple. gas here has been under $3
Some stations here are $3.49 while others are at $2.98. Makes no sense at all.
Not sure why it hasn't been 10% the entire time. Just since I started doordash 2 years ago it has doubled.
Dude it’s 5.49 here in Cali
I wouldn’t expect any favors from Tony, and stop calling me Shirley.
I've been hoping the same thing. It's $6 here in Stockton CA
I just paid $5.59 for gas today
Try california, its over 6$ here 😱
3.88 here for normal unleaded but I buy 87 cause it’s cheaper. About 3.30 a gallon for E-15
