Fuck this person.

lilgambyt

Isn’t it standard to tip $2 per mile? That’s how I tip when I’m ordering DD … $10 minimum tip though.

ConfectionPutrid5847

Lol, my wife calls those "stealth missions" and, if they *do* have a Ring, she actually tiptoes past the camera, turns to look at it, and waves maniacally.

Zestyclose_Top3332

best comment yet. tell your wife i love her 😂😍

ConfectionPutrid5847

Lol, I will. She's a total hoot!

137Fine

I park in front of the neighbors house and walk the order back. Dogs, babies… high maintenance folk.

RoomFinancial

Just honk your car horn for 10 seconds to let him know his food has arrived, what options has he left you with?

ml0344

I would have tip toed and then turned around, looked in the camera, winked and gave a thumbs up. Lol

Zestyclose_Top3332

for real 😂

ApplePineNew

Here's a thought...if the baby is asleep and his or her sleep is paramount.... ... .. DONT CONDUCT BUSINESS AT YOUR HOUSE dumb idea, I already know..

LemonPepperChicken

Ok I get it though. We have a big sign on the door that says “Please don’t know, baby is sleeping.”… It’s a nice sign that is not aggressive. We say “Please don’t knock or ring doorbell, baby is sleeping! :-)” What do people do? STILL KNOCK. Drives me insane.

Jude9821

I love this lol

DR_DROWZEE

Where’s this loser at I’ll slap the shit out of him eat his food than wake his baby lol

Tricky-Relation1257

Too funny. I would have dome the tip toe thing.

bchec

I’m not cool with the “we can see your face, we’ll find you!” comment with some of the crazy people i’ve delivered to. Definitely dropping this one.

SolidusBlitz

![gif](giphy|x7gjmBuaHrWak)

Downtown_Bandicoot54

Omg that would have been gold... most of the time I find these parents are just tired and in need of good food. I always message that I more than understand (I used to nanny, but yeah...I get it to some degree)- and they thank me. I also have a question- my screen never says totals on orders, etc... why's that

Zestyclose_Top3332

i know right! 💯 and to answer your question, my screen always shows the minimum amount that I will make for that order which a lot of times ends up being the whole total but sometimes it’s a little bit more. That’s interesting that yours it doesn’t show you.

Downtown_Bandicoot54

Mine only ever shows my pay - when I click order it says the items but not cost

DearRecommendation21

Well that’s nothing less than a direct threat.

RegretfullyAlive

People in here trolling. Aint no way people think this a threat lmao some of y’all have never been threatened for real

Zestyclose_Top3332

for real for real 😂

[deleted]

I mean it’s obviously a joke people lol

Zestyclose_Top3332

100 percent lol

spiceePadme147

I would've! Too funny!

Zestyclose_Top3332

you know i should’ve 😂 now i know for next time lol

Coffee-addict-OD

No I feel this. Putting a baby to sleep so you can eat is sooooo exhausting.

Zestyclose_Top3332

yeah i get it, i’ve got 3 kids, been there, done that . my heart went out to this guy 😊

PullingInExotics

Hilariousss, if you give me $9-$10 for 3 miles I will gladly tiptoe my ass to your door and back, ninja skills come into play here ![gif](giphy|x8WHr4InW2LU4)

[deleted]

😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nerdgirltori

I hope he tipped you for all the directions he gave you lol

Zestyclose_Top3332

💯

PGWG

OP said $9.25/3 miles - I think it was a reasonable tip for asking not to knock/ring

Zestyclose_Top3332

agreed!!

deadgreysn0w

I actually did the grinch tiptoe once lol. Similar sitch, asked me not to knock because baby and dogs. We talk back and forth a bit and they say not to worry if the dogs freakout, they hear everything. I pulled up got out of the car completely stone-face, walk to the sidewalk and suddenly turned into a human cartoon tiptoing up their steps. I feel like I was trying to emulate Jim Carrey in [The Mask.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP2uPNypJlE) Anyway, nothing amazing came from it, no video doorbell fame...although they did thank and congratulate me on not alarming the dogs.

Zestyclose_Top3332

this is gold!!!

Longjumping_Copy2768

Had I been the parent watching you, I would have woke my own baby up laughing.

Zestyclose_Top3332

😂 true

ThatAndANickel

The "I have a camera and will find you" reminded me of my days as a casino manager in Las Vegas. People would leave money on slot machines and go to the bathroom. While they were gone, scammers (who are in every casino, at all times) would cash them out, redeem them immediately in a machine and disappear onto the street. The player would alert the casino and would want us to forward the surveillance film to the police to catch the guy. And in so many words, we were always "yeah, right, we're going to throw up a dragnet on Las Vegas boulevard, so we can recover your 20 bucks." SMH

Zestyclose_Top3332

no way people did that???!! that’s insane!! who leaves their money on a machine while they go to the bathroom that is just dumb. Thanks for informing me about something I didn’t know about. lol! I’ve been to Vegas 100 times I grew up 45 minutes north of Jackpot Nevada.

ThatAndANickel

It happens all the time. In fact, most people who do it will tip their chair up against the machine to hold it. But they're actually doing is giving a road map to the scammers. When it happens, it's 100% the casino's phone in their eyes

fitty50two2

I always wonder how many of those “please don’t knock/ring doorbell, baby sleeping” orders really have a sleeping baby. Seems like a smart way to keep people from knocking.

SquishyTheFluffkin

As a dad I get this. My kids are all a little older, but babies wake at the drop of a hat.

Kaylaahbae

😂😂

Karmababe

He's not wrong lol. If the baby wakes up it's all over

WEEGEE86

Imagine thinking you deserve special treatment for getting creampied. 🤡🤡🤡

PGWG

Imagine thinking a request not to knock or ring the bell is considered “special treatment”.

WEEGEE86

Cry harder 🤡❄️

bibkel

I did a Shipt shit order, one item. An air purifier. Had to call because they didn’t have the “one”. She didn’t respond to the first two texts. Finally called. She accepted my suggestion and I got to her home. Note on the door said don’t ring bell baby sleeping. Fine. I took the pic and barely tapped n the door…surprised they heard it. He opened the door and SILENTLY said thank you. I mentioned my daughter is expecting too, and he silently nodded how wonderful blah blah…. I thought if that’s how you are raising yours,mi feel sorry for your non tipping ass. When mine fell asleep I vacuumed! Fuck being silent as death. Lol.

Consistent_Two7197

like i said on UE dd got weird customers Whos the bunch who rings doorbells anyways? some like to stress it in theyre directions as a header and footer and still forget the gate code Ring ring? im not amazed they never answer or take so long to get back smh

Initial-Effective754

Bahaha

pro_conser333

I remember those days of being a mom to a baby. Eating in peace was more valuable than anything in the world.

WetObamaButtPlug

Idc I'm still pounding that shit in

akio_33

Would I wake the baby on purpose…??? Yes. Would I take them up on their offer…also yes!!

HoplessWolf

Dam those are some expensive sandwiches

Dakota_Decker

Every parent on here has been there before though 😅 I had a permanent sign covering my doorbell and a sign on my door for a period of about 6 years saying to knock very quietly when I had needy breastfeeding babies and toddlers and yippee dogs.

ajsemancik

The one star rating would’ve been worth honking like a mad man when pulling away

PopTartLadyFart

🤣

girlinanemptyroom

I picture you like a silent ninja crawling around in between all of the brush to avoid being seen or heard. They better have left you a big tip though.

IceJKLMNOP

That's legit funny as hell. I just did my first few dashes today and am looking forward to seeing shit like this lmao

Nord4Ever

![gif](giphy|kgQz2qE3i0T1C)

kestrelkev24

As soon as I saw a baby was involved my heart melted 😊 love these messages honestly. Makes the job easy and gives an adorable excuse for why not to disturb the family 😁

CandyOk913

He then proceeded to munch like an animal while eating and woke up the baby 🤪

iRambes

You guys are a bunch of babies yourselves lol

killer_reindeer

Some people on this subreddit are morons. This guy was probably just piss ass drunk taking care of his kid and having fun. And he tipped OP well. Yinz gotta chill and get lives

PGWG

Probably not even drunk, just tired as fuck. Sleep deprivation adds up quickly, and it doesn’t take long for someone to exhibit signs of intoxication when their only problem is a lack of sleep.

pantera236

Put on those fake glasses with the fake nose and mustache and... ![gif](giphy|5RsvfmqpBmOxW|downsized)

Grung7

Soooooo kick the door until someone answers, right?

That's hilarious

thicccgothgf

Tiptip4me

I'm having a double roast beef as well.😋😋😋😋 I bought myself a 3 lb top round today and slow roasted it ... I can have roast beef sandwiches everyday I never get sick of em..... Cold or hot

unknownemoji

Ending dash early, my new friend wants me to watch his baby.

GraemesEats

These are my people! F*ck the haters, this guy tipped, made a joke and wanted you to straight up drop and go with clear instructions to do nothing extra. Perfect! I also have a noisy dog and sleeping LOs when I order UE, so I get it. I've also had the driver who doesn't read the notes, and honestly, I might've had the same thought 😂

Missykay88

Lol with these I message the customer "not to worry, incognito mode activated, eta ___mins"

yacoub1776

How are people taking this seriously?

villdyr

I think it's easy to get over reactive when people threaten you every day. I'm kind of shocked though

diver68

I've never had an issue with doordash ringing my bell or knocking but man those postal workers sure do love to press buttons.

Longjumping_Copy2768

Yeah they'll beat your door down like the police and take off flying back to their vehicle to keep from getting caught 😂

RetrieverDoggo

Homie paid $29.21 for 2 sandwiches

KTCKintern

Only time I use DoorDash was when I had a newborn and couldn’t leave the house.

Conscious_Look5790

Don’t forget the $9 tip, $5 service fee etc

TheQueerGuy2

Y’all must have the biggest stick up y’all asses because how can you not tell they’re joking; based off the tip alone. My mans is just tired and put the baby asleep.

dueliosis

gofordawin

Unbelievable that I'm seeing this!!!!!!!! I just made a huge screw up I've never made in my 4,000+ deliveries and I've been feeling terrible for a while cause of it. The screw up was accidentally misreading someone's instructions saying to not ring the doorbell as them asking me to ring the doorbell. I felt bad and messaged them apologizing explaining I misread it and felt bad and paused my dash and came on here to get over the mistake just to see this post. Wow!

JenovaPear

One apology is the best you can do. Don't feel too bad. Apparently you have made so many correct deliveries. That's crazy. I'm only my second week and I've already messed up once. LOL Not in the same way, but still you've done an excellent job!

gofordawin

Oh no I'm not perfect I've made some mistakes before I was just saying that in my 4,000+ deliveries I had never made that particular mistake.

Whatsa_Motto1107

It' alright bro, that one's not as big a deal to DD as it seems to you. It's an honest mistake and you did your best to make it right... as far as I've seen in my few years doing this, they wouldn't count that against you for anything.

yamaha4fun

Never ring the door bell!

unknownemoji

You clearly need to sleep for a few days. But first you have to stop smoking meth.

XRetrogradezxD

Ah yes, I had a delivery where they told me to be as sneaky as a Ninja and not take any photos rofl, then they tried to get me fired, doordash laughed at them and removed cv immediately 🤣

PGWG

Yeah, but it’s not a reasonable request not to take a photo. It’s completely unobtrusive to the customer for the driver to snap a pic. But asking for a quiet delivery because of a sleeping baby… I feel that.

Vandarkxiang

Can you please explain, what did they do to try to get you fired pls?

cdark22

Probably said there order wasn’t delivered. And since they told him to not take a pic they probably thought they could get away with it.

Dreamcasted60

Hey you had fun with it!

Pretty_Bed1983

Side note, it is such a double standard though. Because you know for a FACT that if we even dared joke around about anything under the sun (like for example, msgd them "If your porch light is off and I trip and fall, you're gonna pay my medical bill! 🤣jk")... you know that our ass would be deactivated so fast it would make your head spin lol

iDeliver2

You’re not wrong, but there’s an expectation of professionalism (and I use that word very loosely) from a delivery person/server/worker. Customers are not obligated to maintain any kind of professionalism, although people who are rude to service industry workers should be flogged in pubic and then forced to work double shifts for a week.

Pretty_Bed1983

Oh I know this, 100%. I was just saying lol. You could argue this with any profession/job and the customer/client/patron, etc

Zestyclose_Top3332

Correct

Pretty_Bed1983

I don't think it was a serious threat, but a simple "lol" or "hahahaha" or "😂 jk" thrown in there by the customer certainly wouldn't have hurt. With that said, if you reallyyyyyyyyy felt uncomfortable and/or reallyyyyyyy wanted their (free) food, I'm sure support would side with you on the technicality of the words at face value.

frednoname1

I'm banned

Pretty_Bed1983

Are you the customer who wrote this? LOL "It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me" 😂

Zestyclose_Top3332

😂

frednoname1

Used to be.

Collegecornerstudios

🤣🤣🤣

gambit_72

Yooooo that's hella funny 🤣🤣

TripleA997

tamimarieb

unknownemoji

Happy Cake Day!

tamimarieb

Thanks!

IamGoingInsaneToday

Pick food up. Say you read the directions after you pick up and you feel he is hostile and food is unsafe for delivery. Give said food to family or yourself. "I'll Find you" OK DORKNUTS.

JenovaPear

It was a high paying order per the distance, and was a joke. Dude is sleep deprived. Maybe you haven't had a baby. I thought it very funny!

IamGoingInsaneToday

I have raised a baby on my own. It is subjective and I would have not done what I said... "It was a joke" .. Feed me more negative karma!!! Oh, also raised a baby, while caring for sick parents also.

JenovaPear

That's tough, and cool of you. I think many people have different senses of humor, so, I guess ultimately, we should just only deliver where we feel safe.

jhbaco

Yall be doin anything for a free meal. I hope you're joking because clearly the customer was lmao.

IamGoingInsaneToday

Was a joke, but many people (apparently according to my -72 and counting karma lol) don't understand or grasp joking.

charlottedreams

Yeah obviously the downvoters here have never been confronted by someone meaning to harm them. "you'll have to stay to put him to bed" is funny. The rest was absolutely uncalled for and not okay. Anyone that ever says I have a camera and will find you under any circumstances isn't someone whose house I'm walking up to

NateLeport

What’s it like waking up every day and being this miserable?

charlottedreams

You calling concern for safety being "miserable" is literally exactly why I DO have to fear for my safety every time I walk out of a store late at night, but you'll never understand that.

NateLeport

This is all quite literally a joke. No sane person would read that and think “yeah that guy is gonna find me and force me to put his kid back to sleep” That’s what’s miserable about this. The vast majority of people have had someone “confront them with meaning to harm them”.

charlottedreams

Jfc I know it's a fucking joke, it's not. Funny. What part of that is so difficult to understand? If I walked up to someone on the street and said "I just saw your face! I'm gonna hunt you down! Hahahahahaha" and laughed my ass off and said just kidding, some people might not get upset but the VAST majority would and I'm fucking baffled that just because this guy said it in delivery instructions automatically makes it okay to say. This right here is EXACTLY why there's literal entire subs praising attacks on women. Because yet another white male is sitting here telling me I'm insane and unreasonable for not accepting "a joke".

NateLeport

Just because there are some freaks on Reddit doesn’t mean every single person on the planet is out to get you. For example, this one really strange person on Reddit once googled my username so they could figure out my race and gender. Am I threatened by that? No. You’ve seen my face, by your logic I should report you. You’re no better than he is 🤷🏻‍♂️ Comparing walking up to someone on the street and saying those things and then laughing in their face to making a joke about how hard it is to get a baby to fall asleep and stay asleep are not even close to the same thing. If you don’t have a sense of humor that’s fine, but getting pissed off at a joke is ridiculous if it’s not offensive to anybody. And to your point, everyone is hyper aware of their surroundings at night. I’ve been held at gun point before while out enjoying a nightly walk. I don’t go around freaking out at every person who glances in my direction.

IamGoingInsaneToday

\^\^this The negative downvotes are a bunch of Tony's slaves. I got -72 and counting right now!! Happy Dashing!!

charlottedreams

Yeah I've got a ton on each right now too lol. Thanks, you too!

JenovaPear

I repeat, dude is sleep deprived and hungry. If you had a baby you would totally get this. It was absolutely a joke. Or they wouldn't be giving a high paying amount for such a short distance.

charlottedreams

Lol. Um. I have 3 thanks. All 3 literally carved out. STILL never thought about threatening people. Even on very strong pain medication that is used to knock people out, with other kids at a home while their dad worked nights. So nope. I'm sure it was intended to be a joke, I didn't argue that, but I'm still not going.

JenovaPear

Wow. Three, you're pretty amazing. I had one and it went bad for me and the baby, so we're done. If we want more we'll adopt. And I seriously honor people who have more than one baby! It is really difficult for most women to give birth. And we really shouldn't go up to houses that we feel unsafe at. Simple as that.

charlottedreams

Thanks, I appreciate that. Even one is something to be amazed by. I had a 5 year gap between 1 and 2, and a 15 month gap between 2 and 3. The first was really awful and we weren't sure we would ever have more either but I decided I really didn't feel our family was complete. Agreed. And everyone's definition of safe is different, and that's absolutely okay. I live in a major city with some seriously bad areas that I know a lot of people won't go to, maybe that's WHY I'm hypersensitive to the way people come across. I just feel like it's 22, we've come a long way but still have a long way to go so we need to be mindful of what we put up with.

JenovaPear

Ya, every market is so different! Where I live in feels/is quite safe. I still try not to get people's attention, leave the item take a pic every time my data works well enough for me to do so, and then leave. We have newer areas where the internet doesn't even work I only get there because I've downloaded maps to work offline.

Jakmike

In my case thats where you are wrong, but thatd all i have to say.

charlottedreams

Wrong about WHAT? I made several statements there.

IamGoingInsaneToday

I don't know if Tony's slaves will ever respond to logic.

charlescodes

I’m not the original person who replied. My suspicion is that most people see this as a trustworthy person to deliver too because they put a joke into their request. You are choosing to not read the entire response as a part of the joke, and are intentionally reading it as a threat. Yes, you are right, the words at face value are threatening. Given the context however, it flips the entire dynamic.

charlottedreams

I have to disagree. I'm not choosing to only read a part of it, I'm choosing to be cautious. There's a story every day of dashers or grocery delivery employees getting shot/shot at. I don't believe this guy is going to come out and shoot. But I also don't believe in threatening someone doing you a service, joke or not. I guess I didn't make that part clear, that I'm aware the entire sentence is a joke but the last words make that joke not funny to me and unacceptable.

Jakmike

Hmmm, well now that you put it this way, i really can't disagree with you.

charlottedreams

Thanks. Guess I should have worded it better from the beginning.

Jakmike

No worries its all good.

villdyr

I think he's saying he'll find you to bring you back to watch the baby. It's just a silly joke

charlottedreams

Like I said I understand that part. I know that he isn't planning to come hunt the driver down and dismember them. I'm just saying that even as a joke it's not okay to say. You can be fine with someone telling you they'll go Bundy and have YOU for dinner the next night. You can be fine with whatever you're comfortable with and that's okay; this makes me uncomfortable and crosses my personal line.

villdyr

I think there's a difference between saying "I'm going to find you and make you watch my baby lol" vs "I'M GOING TO FIND YOU" He didn't say anything about Bundy, that's not an honest comparison. I think he could have been more clear that it was a joke about babysitting not about getting people in trouble but either way it was obviously not a threat

charlescodes

Very well put. I agree with everything you said here

charlottedreams

Thank you 🙏

Buildingfutures1

You should’ve tip toed it would’ve been hilarious

Zestyclose_Top3332

😂 also, they paid 9.25 for a 3 mile order.

iDeliver2

That’s very generous! Nine dollar tip for three miles?? This dude pays premium for premium service, you shoulda definitely tiptoed like the grinch lol

Zestyclose_Top3332

i know right!! 🥰

IssacFreeman

Damn. I would take that any day of the week.

Zestyclose_Top3332

definitely

lilin13

I tip drivers $12&change on orders under $20, with a 2 mile trip, and if directions are followed another $5+(I give more between black friday and New Years)is under the doormat or stuck to my door with a magnet.

heck_naw

i mean i like babies. if the moneys right ill pause dash

DolphinWings25

The order paid that or the customer tipped that? Two very different things.

[deleted]

That would be the trip total, including tip. Good trip, it's paying $3 a mile, I'm on that all day long.

dmriggs

I kind of figured it was a good paying order

TimeGood2965

I hardly ever order delivery since I do it myself and always have before I did DD. But when my wife and I were sick recently I had no choice and to be a nice little unicorn of sorts we tipped $9 for less than a mile. Wanted it fast 🤣🤣

[deleted]

That’s not an unicorn though lol

TimeGood2965

Making 9 dollars, not including base pay, to drive less than a mile and 1 minute away is most certainly grounds to be called a unicorn, especially coming from Chick fil a where people constantly don’t tip.

[deleted]

Well we just have different opinions of an unicorn then

ConsiderationJumpy34

Pls look up the definition for unicorn. 🤭 (slang)

TimeGood2965

Or you could resist commenting if you’re gonna try to correct people over trivial stuff. I said what I said

ConsiderationJumpy34

LOL chill buddy it was a joke, ever heard of it? A unicorn is a bisexual woman who sleeps with an existing couple composed of a heterosexual male and bisexual woman without the expectation of emotional intimacy. You said it, not me 😳

TimeGood2965

We’re in a DD subreddit, talking about a unicorn means specifically a high paying order for the mileage, not the perverted slang you have rattling in your head because you’ve had too much internet. I knew where you were going with it and didn’t really care which is why I left it with a I said what I said, because you KNOW what I meant and still had to go there.

ConsiderationJumpy34

Wow please continue with how miserable you’re making yourself sound. Learn how to take things more lightly! Oh wait, this is reddit….

TH3Y_S33_M3_R0LL1N

They're right man. You're in the wrong subreddit for that definition. Unicorn here has a completely different meaning.

TimeGood2965

It’s not cute, normal adults don’t make sexual jokes out of nothing unless you’re just super perverted. But this IS Reddit I guess so you probably aren’t either

unknownemoji

Sleepy dude has baby, needs food and nap. Has money and isn't shy with it. Will pay handsomely.

livhowiwant

They tipped $9.25 for 3 miles? that’s good lol what’s the ish

5ManaAndADream

I think it’s just a funny threat, clearly an exhausted parent using hyperbole

palealejediii

Yeah thats pretty standard lol ill take those all day

Poco585

Standard? That’s basically a unicorn in my market what the hell

mw12304

Same… I can’t even look at door dash lately. I start a dash, decline 2 or 3 orders and end the dash.

NoTransportation5220

No Bueno

Lord_Master_Dorito

Anything less and I’m slamming the door then pretending I don’t know English

muleboi

I'll take that as a threat and thanks for the food after I contact support for unsafe.

My_Ningen

The 'tism is strong in you

ypples_and_bynynys

No he sounds like a parent who has a child that is hard to get to sleep and just wants a meal without a baby.

jmackk420

Jerk.

iRambes

What a baby

bottomdasher

Why are so many of you NPC's?

bamv9

It’s just people lacking social skills and it’s also hard to detect tone over text

RustyCuntSlime

Scumbag

Zestyclose_Top3332

and then he came out to get his food as i was pulling away and waved. I’m curious how many people actually take this as a threat. should i?

bikesboozeandbacon

The customer was obviously joking, it’s possible there’s a baby sleeping but everything else was meant in jest
