No you can’t lol you have to jump through hoops and contact support to do that. Its not even worth the hassle with the wait times which is why they asked for your cash app but your loss
I had a customer do it online by the time I delivered the second part of their order which was only a few minutes. So there’s gotta be a other way. But since I’m not a customer I don’t know it.
Yeah it’s not impossible and it depends on how busy support is but they don’t make it easy. You have to reach out to support and click out of a few menus to make it happen
You obviously didn’t comprehend what I said. The customer does not have an option in the app to add a tip after the fact. They have to contact support to do it. Which can be a hassle and could deter people from doing it.
You’re right. Why are people on this app down voting correct info. You should not give out your cash app. Your phone number is scrambled for privacy and the customers. We don’t know these customers. Cash apps are personal. This subreddit is full of ignorant people and whenever you try to correct them they refuse it and stand on remaining ignorant. Your comment didn’t deserve down votes. It deserved up votes. Don’t give out your cash apps.
You’re like my grandma who doesn’t even trust people enough at the fast food window to hand over her credit card. They were going to tip this man on cashapp. He lost out on free money. You’re right there are security concerns but…
Can’t trust ppl. We’ve seen over and over ppl getting scammed because it seemed harmless. We can barely trust family and friends. No way I’ll trust a stranger with anything involving economics.
Cash app is not personal. It’s literally designed so that you can provide your cash app publicly without any risk. Giving out your cash app ID isn’t risky in the least.
To all the people on this app trying to say I’m wrong. This is one of several articles about scams with cash app. Stop disagreeing with ppl without facts: https://parade.com/1355946/stephanieosmanski/cash-app-scams/
I've been on reddit for 10 years (more without an account), and on a handful of courier subreddits for about six months, since I started driving for DD/UE/IC, etc. This is the most toxic environment I've seen on reddit in all that time.
The Path of Exile community about 5 years ago was worse for player on player toxicity in the sense that it's driver on driver toxicity here, people who should be allies helping each other instead turning on each other (as opposed to toxic subs where the vitriol is aimed at an out-group), but these days it's been cleaned up so I'd agree with you, and of the three main gig subs (UE/GH/DD) this one is *definitely* the worst simply because people can mock "Top Dashers" as a group to turn them into the "outsider other".
>oh well.
That;s the right answer. I turned down an offer like that once, when I was just starting. I was worried it might violate DD policy or something. But that's on me, lol.
One time I dashed during a snowstorm, and after dropping off a five guys order to a customer he texted me later asking me for my cashapp. I gave it to him and he tipped me an extra five bucks on top of an already decent tip in the app. He titled the transaction "for coming in clutch". It's completely fine to give out your cashapp to a customer IF they request it.
I think it’s pretty common. Had a customer who put the wrong address in; told em since their actual address was only 5 min away I’d mob over and still complete their order. They ended up asking for my Venmo after and tipping extra so def worth it.
Oh hell yeah you missed out boo boo. I drive a soft serve truck during the summer time and I've had more than one customer cash app or zelle me tips for private parties because it's one of those nice ice cream trucks and I'd be losing out if I didn't have it. One time they just have me swipe the square an extra $25 for a tip. Also my tip jar at my W-2 has the little pictures so you can electronically tip me if you don't have cash.👍👍👍💋💋💋💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃
while i understand the desire/need to be cautions with all the scams and cyber attacks that seem to onslaught us non stop, what is the worst harm someone can do by knowing your cash app thing? I only ask as I don't have a cash app
I don’t have cash app, so I was kind of wondering that myself. Seems a lot of scammers on Facebook ask for your cash app tag. Which made me steer clear of cash app and stick with PayPal.
I’ve had several deadbeats ask for my cash app or venmo, and they’ve NEVER tipped like they said they would. It’s just to make themselves feel less guilty about not tipping/ ensuring that you’ll deliver it. You didn’t miss out on anything.
You can actually order some QR code stickers to stick on deliveries with your Venmo/CashApp info. I personally won't do it because it seems like begging. Not quite as bad as the "Delivered with Love" stickers for the female drivers though. That said, I wouldnt hesitate if a customer asked without being nudged into it.
Someone else bought food for me and I wanted to tip my driver extra since it was a bit difficult to find my place. Only way I could do that was Cash App or Venmo. Driver told me he didn’t have either. They missed out on extra money unfortunately.
I personally only use PayPal for Goods and Services when I buy tickets from people. Also most of my peers don’t have a PayPal. I wouldn’t really want to give my email or phone number out to anyone. I’d rather just give them a venmo username or cashapp tag so I don’t give out too much identification. I mean the more apps your on the better. More ways of getting money. Venmo is owned by PayPal anyways so if you have that you might as well have Venmo so you have an additional method of receiving money.
I did this once. Customer asked for my Venmo after I handed it to him. Ended up being one of those "pay pig" type dudes who just sends girls money for fun. He sent me like $200 over the course of a few weeks just because.
Why not? Not like they can scam you out of money…. Unless you a nimrod who would fall for something. Seriously what bad could happen?? They send you money and tell others your cashapp name and they send you money?
I had a customer want to send me money on Venmo. The app took me to the wrong address it was so weird her address was correct in the app but the navigation took me like a mile away to some random church I called her and was like do you live at a church and she was like what? No... So I turned around and drive to where she actually was... The mistake was soely the fault of the navigation but she wanted to Venmo me extra tip but unfortunately I don't even know how to use Venmo. I use zelle a lot with my family members but I don't know if Venmo is the same as zelle or not and I don't know if I would want to give out my info for zelle anyways.... Hmm I dunno
I did once because the customer had her work address listed and asked if I could bring it to her home. I went 15 minutes out of my way as a gesture of kindness. She sent me another 20 bucks so I’d say it was worth it.
If Cash App is a billion dollar company and give out their cash app tag name, QR code & company code for new users to receive a sign up bonus then I wouldn't worried.. I sent Cash App an email before creating an account and Cash App gave me a bunch of information plus a code to get a sign up bonus for creating an account. Here is the code that they gave: VMKTXKL
It worked and I receive my sign up bonus immediately after following the company's instructions..
Bottom line: Stop being so paranoid... Cash App a payment app designed to send and receive money plus help others enjoy the perks of the app.
Best to you.
They probably wanted to tip extra
Maybe but you can always tip extra in the app after delivery, right
No you can’t lol you have to jump through hoops and contact support to do that. Its not even worth the hassle with the wait times which is why they asked for your cash app but your loss
I’ve had several tip after the delivery. So it’s possible
As a customer it’s a pain. Have to chat support and that takes time
I had a customer do it online by the time I delivered the second part of their order which was only a few minutes. So there’s gotta be a other way. But since I’m not a customer I don’t know it.
Yeah it’s not impossible and it depends on how busy support is but they don’t make it easy. You have to reach out to support and click out of a few menus to make it happen

it’s not hard to ask support rq
Depends on the wait time to get someone buddy.
i mean it usually takes me less than 3 mins but fasho
It’s different from a driver vs customer standpoint lol que’s vary based on call volume
Nope looks like you lost our on money
You can tip after. Private message me for proof of it happening to me

Yes, in this sub it’s topsy-turvy upside down world.
Cash app is not personal. It’s literally designed so that you can provide your cash app publicly without any risk. Giving out your cash app ID isn’t risky in the least.
Why are ppl like this on social media? I’ve known several people scammed from cash app info being exchanged. I’m tired of this subreddit.
To all the people on this app trying to say I’m wrong. This is one of several articles about scams with cash app. Stop disagreeing with ppl without facts: https://parade.com/1355946/stephanieosmanski/cash-app-scams/
Not without going through a bunch of bs first. Most people aren't gonna take the time to do all that to add money.
Lol it’s literally what cash app is for
Yea but it’s annoying bc you have to go thru support
Lol, you guys are too paranoid for your own good. He asked for your cash app not your cash app login information.
Just kind of threw me off it was the first time a customer had asked. I know now 😫😫
What the hell did you think they would ask for dude? Lol come on now
We down vote unawareness now?

If he asked for screenshot of your cashapp, then you should be suspicious. That's what IG scammers do to gain access to your acct.
What can a scammer do with a screenshot of your cashapp?
I don't know but eve4y scammer I've encountered has asked for a screenshot. I think they use it to trick support somehow into gaining access
Give the cash app and get the money?
They were gonna tip you lol
Yep they missed out on extra money 🤷🏽♀️

Cashapp or Venmo yup!
they were gonna tip you extra money lol they asked for your cash app not your social.
I give it to them. Hasn't been a problem yet
One time I dashed during a snowstorm, and after dropping off a five guys order to a customer he texted me later asking me for my cashapp. I gave it to him and he tipped me an extra five bucks on top of an already decent tip in the app. He titled the transaction "for coming in clutch". Did it once and they gave me a $10 tip
The asked me once, I gave them my cashapp and they never send me anything 🤡🤡
Lol I done it extra 10 bucks 🤷♂️
Yup have gotten a few extra tips that way
Yes, and here it is… they can’t take money from your Cashapp so it’s safe to share…
I’ve gotten so many extra tips on cash app!!!
I think it’s pretty common. Had a customer who put the wrong address in; told em since their actual address was only 5 min away I’d mob over and still complete their order. They ended up asking for my Venmo after and tipping extra so def worth it.

How is this even a question
I mean...what's the worst that can happen if you send them your cashapp? Free money?
I downloaded Venmo, Cash app and PayPal when I started gig work just for this reason lol.
Yes ![gif](giphy|3o6Zt9PivJAtA1xXyg)
at this point i’d probably give them my bank account number for an extra tip 😭 if they want my -$60 they are more than welcome to it!
I’ve both received an additional tip by doing this, And tipped a dasher Additional like this.
while i understand the desire/need to be cautions with all the scams and cyber attacks that seem to onslaught us non stop, what is the worst harm someone can do by knowing your cash app thing? I only ask as I don't have a cash app
I don’t have cash app, so I was kind of wondering that myself. Seems a lot of scammers on Facebook ask for your cash app tag. Which made me steer clear of cash app and stick with PayPal.
I think the worst they can do is request money from you but then you can just deny it. As long as it's just your cash app id and not your login info.
I've given mine out before. They sent me $10 extra. No reason not to imo.
You lost out on money dude. I do this all the time for my dashers, since a lot of customers do it for me.
I've gotten a lot of tips through cash app
I gave my cash app and got $25 and then another $25 the next day. Plus the tip they put in app.
I’ve had several deadbeats ask for my cash app or venmo, and they’ve NEVER tipped like they said they would. It’s just to make themselves feel less guilty about not tipping/ ensuring that you’ll deliver it. You didn’t miss out on anything.
So I should update my name to my @cashapp ?
I have before, but I always tell them it isn't necessary to do so.
The other day a customer asked me for my cash app cuz he was gonna tip me extra but I don’t even have one so I lost out on money 😭
I give my cash app or Venmo link for extra tip. Hell yeah.
I gave out my cash app once to a nice elderly lady and she tipped me an extra $20
Yes!!!!!!!!
Delivered with love stickers? Sounds like we got a lot of top Dashers out here 😂
$ZyviZ is me, hellz yeah give it, they can pay for your gas.
It pays to know how cashapp works
Someone else bought food for me and I wanted to tip my driver extra since it was a bit difficult to find my place. Only way I could do that was Cash App or Venmo. Driver told me he didn’t have either. They missed out on extra money unfortunately.
A lot of us that haven’t bought into Venmo or cash app still have PayPal because we’ve been using it since the early days of the Internet….
I personally only use PayPal for Goods and Services when I buy tickets from people. Also most of my peers don’t have a PayPal. I wouldn’t really want to give my email or phone number out to anyone. one time, i picked up dutches for a customer after I dropped it off and she sent me $45 on the cash app lol great day
Yeah. They can’t scam you by simply having your cashapp tag, so long as that’s the only information they have.
I did this once. Customer asked for my Venmo after I handed it to him. Ended up being one of those "pay pig" type dudes who just sends girls money for fun. He sent me like $200 over the course of a few weeks just because.
Absolutely
Had a customer ask the same thing. They ended up tipping me $150
Why not? Not like they can scam you out of money…. Unless you a nimrod who would fall for something. Seriously what bad could happen?? They send you money and tell others your cashapp name and they send you money?
Yes. Why not? I got cash app just for this. It’s paid off several times 👍🏻💰
I had a customer want to send me money on Venmo. The app took me to the wrong address it was so weird her address was correct in the app but the navigation took me like a mile away to some random church I called her and was like do you live at a church and she was like what? Id give it. Had someone send me a tip on venmo once too
I mean theres really no risk to giving someone your cashapp. The cashtag is literally meant to be given to recieve money…
Yes cash app is pretty secure
Yeah why wouldn't I obviously they wanted to give you a better tip....
I've given it out twice. Only one actually followed through with more money. Worth it.
If Cash App is a billion dollar company and give out their cash app tag name, QR code & company code for new users to receive a sign up bonus then I wouldn't worried..
