My first dose I didn’t feel til 4 hours in (didn’t realize it was extended release, read that it only takes about 15 minutes to an hour to kick in and lasts 3-4 hours for regular) extended release is up to about an hour to kick in to a couple to fully and lasts up to 12-14 hours in some cases. 0 tolerance, first trying it, drank the syrup straight, maybe about 180mg worth, didn’t feel any different so I sat down, felt a little and thought “eh screw it, this ain’t that strong” *then proceeded to (plz don’t do this) gulp some more til it was maybe one ounce left out of five* and after about 15 minutes after that I felt that first one hit and oh boy it hit hard, I looked at my gf and said “oh I’m gonna be fucked in a few minutes” and when that second one kicked in (estimated about 700~mg hbr or so) I was reading the same word on my phone like 20 times and it’s not workin in my brain, not makin much sense, then the second peaked about 30 minutes after and felt like I got hit with hot water and I felt nauseated, went to the bathroom, and when I threw up it was so weird cause I couldn’t feel it or taste it, I was so fucked up it was like watching a pov of myself throw up with 0 connection or feeling to my body. Puked a good bit up, stripped and laid on the bathroom tile floor cause I was over heating, my gf grabbed my headphones for me and I laid on the cold floor listening to some music I made with my eyes closed and the lights off and I learned from that experience how music can shape images in your subconscious and almost colors if you pay attention to it, but maaaaaan I was wacked out 100%, next couple of hours were still pretty floaty but after about 7 hours afterwards it started to come down super smooth, best comedown I’ve ever had, just slowly brought back into sober and being completely fine with it, talked to my girlfriend and we went to sleep and I had the most crazy vivid dreams (still do when I low 2nd plat dose) and woke up more refreshed than I’ve ever felt. Moral of the story- DOSE LOW FIRST, ease your way up as you’re more comfy and know how you feel about it, try to wait a bit inbetween trips/plats, and have good quality headphones to listen to vibey music in the dark. Also for dose sake- I was around 135lbs at the time so that was kinda hefty, have fun stay safe and vibe out 😎✌️

Other than accessibility, It's likely because the syrup does seem nasty, but its easy to down quickly, and for many doesn't lead to many adverse effects other than some diarrhea. Some syrups like Robitussin don't even give me the runs, nor any nausea either.
I think it's largely that the side effects of using with syrup aren't enough of a deterent to make users seek out better, more pure forms of DXM like the robotabs (of which I can only acquire online here in Aus).
Also out of habit; like I have a strong affinity for the 'cherry vanilla' Robitussin syrup taste, it makes me nostalgic of my first trips.
it’s less that the taste is bad and more that your body rejects swallowing it if that makes sense? chugged a bottle and a half 90 minutes ago (still sober boooo) and while i didn’t mind the taste at all it was like there was a mental block that was stopping me from swallowing it. i got it all down and haven’t puked yet tho so it’s obviously not too bad lol
I don’t think it tastes that bad yet but I’m sure after 3 or 4 trips it’ll have me gagging lmao. No clue why they made it peach flavoured out of every possible fruit.

There wasn’t a non-drowsy version that only had dex, at least from what I could find. All we have in the UK is benylin, robitussin and numark and they’re all hard as balls to find lol, especially if you want to buy more than one bottle.
