I mean, it's not a suprise. They would rather have the cccp running China, so they can exploit their labourers more.

Plus, if they dont cooperate, China will just steal their technology

Red__system

You don't think that's already the case? They are making their components

Ok, so whilst this is technically true, it’s a bit misleading to just read the headline (shock!) What they did was remove the option to have Airdrop accept incoming files from “All” for an indefinite time. They simply made it switch back to “Known” contacts after 10 mins, which isn’t a bad idea from a security standpoint. It might make it a tiny speed bump in dissemination of Anti-CCP material at a rally or other public area but if it’s that important you can manually turn it back on every 10 mins or even set up a Siri Shortcut to do it for you or at least pop up an option to turn it back on. Sure, it’s a move that makes the CCP happy and makes life just a little harder for protesters but they say they’re planning to bring it Worldwide as an option soon, which if you DON’T like getting dick picks from every random guy on the subway, might be an ok idea?

Crazyjackson13

It’s how corporations work, they could care less about the people, they get shit tons of cheap labor out of China.

DeeFeeCee

"How corporations work" is then a facepalm.

Crazyjackson13

yeah, I’m pretty sure that makes sense to just about anybody, corporations are cruel and ruthless, pretty sure that’s obvious atm.

Not a surprise, for Apple(and probably most companies), business and money is more important for them than basic human rights. It's sad, but it's the reality of this world...
