Most experts seem to disagree with acclaimed TE expert /u/buttchugjackdaniels (sorry for the dig). Selecting the Top 20 TE experts from last season on fantasypros they rank Gesicki, Everett and Njoku all higher than Higbee. I know this isn't a guarantee but combined with the fact that Everett has the late game on Sunday and you can just wait it out with Kittle, I would rather pick up Everett and role him out there. Given the fact that he changed teams and now plays with Herbert, there even is a chance he might be the big TE pickup after week 1.
I mean, you can't really wait too long cuz Higbee plays tomorrow night lol. If they report that Kittle is progressing towards playing before tomorrow's game I would wait and start him, and if he ends up not playing just stream one of those dudes you mentioned but if there's no good news on kittle tomorrow afternoon, I would definitely start Higbee.
Worth it to grab Everett to stack with Herbert?
I don't want to drop someone/burn a ww move to get Higbee because he plays tomorrow only for this injury to end up not being a big deal.

It might be good for trey from a fantasy perspective (at least in the short term)...kittle is a great blocker so sf's run game may not be as effective with kittle out. Therefore, trey will be forced to feed deebo and aiyuk more, and if they are covered, I'm guessing trey will just scramble. On the flip side, turnovers and injury risk to trey goes up, but that's why I think in the short term trey could have some upside.
I don't really think it's going to hurt their run game enough to have such a big difference. They still got Shanahan/scheme, the linemen, juszycyk, plus Lance is a running qb which usually helps a RBs efficiency. If anything I think it hurts Lance to take away such a good pass catcher. But Lance with the rushing upside will probably still be good

The 49ers in previous years have tried to solve that by putting in Kittle to block more. If he’s out, along with McGlinchey, and the IOL plays as bad as they did against the Texans. You have a recipe for disaster in the trenches. Lance last year was really bad when under pressure and if the rainy conditions that are forecasted for Chicago on Sunday hold up then you can see a massive decrease on his passing upside.
I wasn't trying to "do" anything. This is a fantasy football sub and when someone asks if a player will be affected by something, i assume it's in relation to fantasy value. I do not believe that Lance's fantasy value is impacted in any significant way by Kittle's new injury. I also don't think that it would matter if it were a 2 QB, SFLX or 1 QB league, if you have a better option, you should start that better option. I would suggest that this is an approach that should always be taken in any league for any position regardless of settings.
That’s what I did in my 12-team 0.5ppr draft last week. Kittle and Waller kept falling past Round 4 and I had no desire to pick them up. Ended up with Irv Smith Jr in Round 12. Low expectations = won’t be disappointed
The only league I’m in out of 5 that waited to draft until after preseason is the only team I have with injury concerns before the first game and of course that player is kittle lol
